I explained to them that I needed a form for short training and they gave me one which I filled. But what is bothering me is that the status has stayed too long in your visa application has been forwarded to British High commission. Is it a normal process?
Yes its, but were you given an offer letter by any school in the UK? Paid nay school fees or training cost?

You are absolutely right. I renewed my visa for tourism in February. And my heart desired place is Canada due to numerous opportunities there.
Last year, I traveled to UK and stayed for only six days in London. People blamed me thats it was a waste of money and that I should have done an IT program that should have helped secure a better job. Personally, I taught that I could do a few days program with tourist visa but I was made to understand that I would require a different visa. I cancelled my reservation and applied for another visa last week Friday, but surprising there is a delay in the process and I am worried. Thats the situation of thing now.
What type of visa ?

Ok, Please give me your advice on what to do. I don"t want to do anything that would jeopardise future applications.
Re-apply and address those issues raised by the ECO, explain why you have more money in your bank account than you earn through your salary.

Lol. Nice one. You dey mind these 'over educated' folks? Once a people surrender their natural liberties to the state, they effectively empower the state (or in other words, the government) to act on their behalf as the sovereign. That is the theoretical basis for the 'social contract' concept. Since it is impracticable for the people to collectively exercise their power by collectively making decisions on each and every governance-related issue, they inevitably rely on their representatives (i.e. those in government) to act decisively - wrong or right - on their behalf.

But then, these things are too complicated for 'over educated' folks to understand.
You even made it even harder by using some hight-level terms to explain it to them. . . .confused.com grin grin

you are right, our head of state has no right to make such a decision, occupynigeria should have made the decision on whether these hostages should have been released or not.
As a matter of fact, we Nigerians should make a decision whether any oyibo people should be allowed into our country or not.

Onyocha:
so since they didnt do that, why do you oppose the british and nigerian government taking responsibility for the failed rescue operation which has led to the killings of the hostages?

besides, the nigerian govt. doesnt have to call all nigerians for a meeting.i am simply saying that the nigerian govt. should not have allowed foreign troops conduct military operation on nigerian soil.the sovereignty which belongs to the people who elect government do not give right to government to bring in foreign troops into the country to conduct military operation.

you are talking as if nigeria had a choice in the matter as much as we think.britain could easily apply "you are either with us or with the terrorists" mentality to conduct this operation and sway the president into agreeing.so please, stop talking as if you dont understand what you read.
You are really confused, when you elect any govt, you basically gave that govt the right to make decisions on your behalf including security decision like this,  the British did not conduct the operetion without Nigerian govt consent, this is not time to start playing some silly blame games.

Onyocha:
the sovereignty of nigeria belongs to the people of nigeria and not to the government of nigeria or Jonathan.get that in your head.
So Onyocha, tell me this. . . the Nigerian govt would have called all Nigerians for a meeting and ask for their opinion before the operation went ahead?

it is very sad indeed to hear this news.

i hold the company they were working for responsible and the government of britain.

they could have paid a ransom to save the innocent men.and really we have heard nothing about this kidnapping since last year.

also,i condemn the british leading a military rescue operation in Nigeria.under no circumstance is that welcome.i want to blame Jonathan for not refusing such breach of nigeria sovereignty by the british
.this operation can now be seen as a failure and triumph for the kidnappers.it will only embolden them.the british over-confidence and Jonathan's approval have cost the lives of two innocent men working for their daily bread.

@justwise please be patient with Bityyend, he needs education not insults. He is obviously one of those blacks in the Uk or US who blame all blackman's problems on Oyibo people.
1. The people of Birnin Kebbi queue in the bank to withdraw cash, often there is no cash because the nearest Central Bank is in Sokoto. So you tell the petty traders in Northern Nigeria that they don't need a local branch of Central Bank.

2. When my people where kidnapped in Edo state I would have called on UK, US, Germany even Iran or North Korea to help me and my family as it was we had to rely on the Niigerian Police.

So all this patriotic clap trap means nothing when life is at stake.

So sun of god, bityyend and other so~called patriotic Nigerians wake up and smell the coffee

Its basicall money that was withdrawn that I paid in back. Would attaching a nothing explaining every lodgement surfice?
Well. . . if you presented your salary account and you earns £950 on monthly bases, its pretty easy to calculate how much you should have at the end of the year (pay-in and out taking into consideration) because all will be shown in your account. The money you withdrew will be shown and when it was paid back. So if you have way over the stated salary then the ECO will question the source IF its not explained.

Hello, I was denied a UK visit visa, the ECO as quoted "You stated that u will fund your proposed trip and have submitted your personal bank statements from XX Bank, as evidence of your finances. Your monthly income is equivalent of 950 GBP, the credits and balances in your account is not commensurate with your declared monthly salary. You have not provided evidence of the progin of these cash payments, more so you closing balance is over 4 times your monthly income, I am not satisfied bla bla bla"
I have gone thru my statement closely and I often make withdrawals and deposit from my accounts. First major deposit was in September 2011, We have a small contribution in my office and It was my time to pack (Aje things) I received 180k. The other months I was always paying out my contribution. Secondly the other two lump deposit was a loan that I gave to a college that was being paid back. The first I transfered directly to his account and he transfered back to me while paying, the second I withdrew cash and he paid me back with a cheque. I intend re applying explaining all these.

Please Kindly advice.
That shows sign of 'account-building', the record in your bank account doesn't agree with your salary, its that simple, whatever other businesses or sources of incomes you have that wasn't explained in the visa application form will look suspecious.

if you earned £950 a month, your balance most agree with your incoming and out-going, any other source of income must be explained in order not to be mistaken as salary.

This is my last reply to you - just because your life is hopeless and you suck at everything you do - that doesn't imply that everyone is like you. I have got a career and I don't need a job, go figure.
bittyend:
So who are they building the so-called central bank for and how's that going to benefit the people of Birni Kebbi?? I guess the Rothschild - so let them go sort themselves out.
If David Cameron has publicly said "the British government do not pay ransom" - that's his cup of tea, and I'll send him some crumpets via royalmail for a good lunch. This isn't the 19th century and the era of the British Empire where you go about invading other country's sovereignty - you've to play "ball" if you're caught off guard. Play "ball" doesn't mean you're weak (which the UK is right now) - but it will save the lives of innocent people.

And for your last question and what my plans are for my people - check this: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-889484.0.html  cool

Smh. didn't realise I dealing with an outsider, thought you were a patriotic home based Nigerian, you don't know Birnin Kebbi? For your information the 2 foreigners were working as contractors building the new branch of Central Bank in the state capital for a company called B Staballini.

As mentioned above the British government say publically that they do not pay ransomes but instead will risk the lives of their troops to rescue their citizens.

So Mr Bityyend you tell me what sacrifice you will do for your people?
He is clueless, don't you see it from his replies?

David Cameron should have just paid the ransom. I don't know how SAS would have been able to rescue hostages in a train as difficult as Northern Nigeria - this isn't the Iranian embassy in London smh. And what were they doing in Birni kebbi in the first place?? This is probably the first time I'm hearing that a place like that exist in Northern Nigeria.
Here you go again with another random rant, does Boko Haram ask for ransom? They should be killed because they went to work in that part of Nigeria?
