Why no sympathy for the dead man? Becos his Nigeria? and those saying the Nigerians did wrong by taking the laws into their own hands; what about the people who beat someone to death. Properties can be replaced but the life that was lost can't be replaced! If someone committed a crime of indecency he should be punished according to the laws not beaten to death. I wonder why malaysia ranks amongst the top countries in the world when such barbaric acts still exist in their society. Have visited Kuala lumpur once and and I can say malaysians are racist and detest blacks! I keep wondering what Nigerians keep doing there. Its hard to say Nigerians should all come home as some do have legitimate businesses there but if you can't be protected what's the reward of staying somewhere fearing for your life every minute. I feel bad for this man who diedd without getting to defend himself. Its nearly impossible for a young man his age to be hitting on 40+ old malaysian woman. P*ssy is like the cheapest and our Nigerian boys get it almost for free . So the story does not add up!
Yes, no sympathy for him if he really committed that crime, this got nothing to do with being a Nigerian, if anyone go about attacking women sexually then he will have whatever instant justice melted out to him.
If Malaysians hate blacks that much then the last thing any blackman in Malaysia should do is to sexually attack their women. |

udogati: I'm not here to condemn the man, but I heard from reliable sources that he tried to get fresh with the same cleaning lady a week before this. She had lodged a police report against him. He tried again with her, unfortunately his own indiscretions caught up with him.
What is even more troubling is that 200 or so Nigerians decided to turn vigilantes, running amok around the condominium area to seek justice for the death of their fellow countryman. This is something which has never happened before in Malaysia. Foreigners taking the law into their own hands going on to destroy private and public properties. I fear this could cause Nigerians in Malaysia a lot of trouble. From what I've heard, nothing like this has ever happened before in Malaysia. Oh well. . . he can now go and sleep with as many women as possible down 6fit. Why should other Nigerians go about destroying things because of him? They should be hiding their heads on shame |

kadman: Hey everyone, just to say thank you to Joxiri, Omo_Tier1, Dancewith and Justwise as usual for the advise
I had my US interview last week and my visa was approved.
As Omo_Tier1 said honesty was the best policy and Joxiri's advise to dress smart.
For anyone who might find this information useful, my interview went something like this:
I attended the US consulate in London, there were over 500 people with appiontments. I noticed one consulate officer was attenting to only Nigerians and was steadily refusing them.
When he called my number I went to meet him
Me: Good afternoon (Smiling) USC: No Reply USC: I see you came here for your masters degree and stayed behind why ? Me: I decided to that as I got a good job with a carrer path USC: I see you work in the Financial Services as an Finance Adjuster Me: That's not correct I'm a Finance Assesor, I hope to be an Adjuster one day. USC: Oh sorry, yes that is a good carrer path Me: Thank you USC: I see you travel to Paris a lot, why ? Me: It's a nice escape out of London, it's cheap and I don't have to fly there USC: Smiles USC: Your visa has been approved, go and submit your form for DX delivery
He did not ask to see one single document, he only read from my application form and studied me carefully. As Joxiri adviced I filled my application very carefully.
My passport came back yesterday and I was given 5 year muliple entry.
Thanks guys for the help. Congrat man!! |

Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(mod): 7:31am On Mar 31, 2012 |
peter2010: Hello Nairalanders, I have got an urgent visa issue which I will like the immigration experts in the house to help me out on it. The issue is about one of my brothers and it is narrated below, please study carefully and give neccessary response for the solution, thanks. It all started in year 2007 when my brother got a UK Working Holiday 2 years visa, he travelled to London, England in April, 2007 and stayed for a year before returning to Nigeria. He later travelled back to UK after spending a month and resigning from work in Nigeria, still with a valid visa that covered 2 years. He resigned from work in Nigeria due to the fact that he had gained a temporary employment in UK. In 2008, his employer in UK started processing his work permit for him, and with all the efforts of the employer, the UK Boarder Agency issued my brother an 18 months initial work permit in February, 2009. But he was asked to come back to Nigeria to apply for entry clearance before he could actually use the work permit because he got the work permit on non shortage occupation. Since he has a month left on his valid visa, he decided to come home and apply for the entry clearance so that he could validate the work permit. So he came back to Nigeria for the second time in March, 2009 and applied for the entry clearance. The visa was refused by the ECO, from the refusal letter, they claimed they called the UK employer and he didnt give them satisfactory response, so they were nt sure if the employment was real. When he got the refusal letter, he called the employer and the employer confirmed someone called him but he only told the person to call him back, because where he was at that moment of call, was noisy. By this time He got 4 days left on his UK Visa before it expired, so he tried to travel after making enquiries at the airport if he could still do so. But his mission for travelling was to pack his things to storage house and discuss further with his UK Employer. Unfortunately, he was turned back at the Heathrow Airport, they said he could not use the remaining days on the visa to do what he intended to do, so they cancelled the visa and sent him back to Nigeria.
To cut the story short, after returning back to Nigeria, my brother applied for visa again due to the advise of one immigration lawyer in lagos. The visa was refused for the second time with the same old reason that they were nt satisfy with the response of the employer. He instructed the lagos lawyer to file an appeal for him after the second refusal but the lawyer absconded with the money given to him for that purpose and he didnt file any appeal which he didnt inform my brother until after the appeal time limit had elapsed. My brother decided to begin a new life in Lagos, He got a new job, which he was being paid N80,000 per month after a year of the second refusal and working in lagos, he applied for UK Visit visa again, this time around he was invited by a friend to come and spend his holiday in London which the friend would sponsor the trip. But he was refused again, the reason this time around was that they dont see some documents of the sponsor meanwhile everything was included in the document submitted. There was no option of appeal against the decision, administrative letter was written but they still upheld their decision. He applied for the 4th time as a visitor again after 3 months of the 3rd UK visa refusal, this time around he was refused based on the fact that they were nt sure if he would be able to sponsor himself for the trip and also if he would return back from UK. He had all the neccessary documents to get the visa but he was baffled with the resaon why they were refusing him. He decided to apply for Schengen visa, to go for an holiday in Paris, France where he had travelled to amongst other european countries like Belgium, Holland, Spain, Italy when he was still in UK in November, 2010 but he was refused on the basis that the information submitted regarding the justification for the purpose and intended stay was not reliable. He thought that there had been mistake somewhere he reapplied immediately but it was also refused based on the same initial decision. He sent documents to France for the appeal but till now they've never responded. He waited for another 6 months after the 4th UK Visa refusal, in March, 2011, he applied again, but this time around he was refused on a flimsy reason, that he didnt include document for where he will stay in UK meanwhile, his friend which was the sponsor would cater for the feeding and accommodation which his mortgage and other documents were included. He wrote again an Administrative review letter, but they still upheld their decision.
These has been his travel issues till date. But he has informed me now that after he had got a new job in May, 2011 and the salary is N150,000 per month, he wants to apply for UK visitor visa as a Tourist meaning, he will book for an hotel where he will stay for the duration of his 7 days stay in UK and also sight seeing amongst others. I really want your help on how he can go about applying this time around and the visa will be granted. I dont want him to be denied a visa again. He is well ok now in Lagos, he is about to get married and also about to complete his building. He just want to go outside of Nigeria to europe for his holiday at work. YOUR CANDID ADVICE ASAP WILL BE REALLY APPRECIATED. THANKS FOR YOUR CONCERN. To start with, 2yrs working holiday visa is not renewable in the UK and you are not allowed to work for 2yrs, its one yr work then one yr holiday, if you go against that rule then its deportation if caught and will not be issued working visa again for a long time. Your brother claimed that he was issued 18 months initial work permit and at the same time was asked to go back to Nigeria to apply for entry clearance, that is not true because work permit is visa, if he was issued work permit in the UK then there is absolutely no need to return to Nigeria to apply for another visa, again entry clearance is another name for visa. Your brother has wasted his money applying for visa after so many refusals and sadly he will be refused again and again if he applies again because he just proved to UKBA that he is so desperate to live Nigeria in the name of going on holiday. If your brother want to stand a chance of getting a visa again let him stop applying for UK visa for at least 2yrs and concentrate on building a strong tie to Nigeria, he can do this by. . . getting married, having kids, getting more yrs in his employment history, building a strong financial base else he will be wasting more money if he applies again. Sorry that may sound too hash but it has to be said |
Travel › Re: Help Justwise & Everyone On Uk And Russia Admission by justwise(mod): 7:03am On Mar 31, 2012 |
mr swagger: Gooday justwise nd Everyone. I would like your candid advice on this one. I'm a little bit confused at the moment because the pressure is on me. I have been writing jamb since 2007 to no avail, so I decided to pursue my dreams abroad. I chose Uk as my first choice of study.
But I have been granted so many offers. I was given admission to study at University of Bradford in Uk with a £2,000pounds scholarship and ielts not required. But the tuition fee is £11,000pounds. With scholarship it was brought down to £9,000 pounds. Justwise the school requested I pay a deposit as low as £2,000pounds before I get my CAS letters. But to me uk universities deceive international students alot. I have a feeling they use this as a medium to attract students. Even with scholarship dis tuition fee is too high. but finance is the problem. My mom is a widow and I don't want to put pressure on her.
Justwise & Co I would like you guys to advice me which country is better for me to study with low tuition fee. My mom said she can be able to pay a tuition fee as low as #400,000 per annum. At the moment I'm considering studying at Russia, Moscow. Because some of my high school class mate are there and also I received an email yesterday from the international study centre in russia who informed me that I can get a university with Business management in english which varies between $3,000 - $5,000 which is okay by me and by my Mom's finance. She can afford to pay $3,000 per annum. But I'm aware there is high rate of racism there. That's why I'm little bit confused. This russia universities are very cheap compared to uk. Even accomodation is so cheap. Justwise what do u guys think, do u think I shud proceed with my Russia admission or I shud go with uk admission. I don't want a situation whereby I will pay £2,000 pounds deposit to uk university and after I get my visa the school will require you to balance up 50% of £9,000pounds. Before you can enroll. And if you are unable to balance up to 50% they won't refund your initial deposit and therefore they wud cancel your admission. 50% of the tuition fee is very high on my side. I'm trying to be realistic. And I don't really think even when I go to uk I can get a job that would enable me balance up my tuition fee. Justwise & Everyone I know what I'm writing might be too long but there is vital points in what I'm saying. .
Justwise I'm a little bit scared because my mom struggled so hard for this money and I can't let it waste in vain. This uk universities don't have mercy on international students.
Many Nigerians get stucked in uk because they are unable to balance their tuition fee. And uk universities are too strict and stingy with scholarships. And also with balancing up of tuition fee.
Justwise & vicjustice and everyone your advice would be greatly appreciated. You might not only save a life here while posting your vital advice, you might as well save so many lives.. Lots of people in my situation might be reading dis and they wud learn from dis post...
Thanks.. Hope to hear from u guys soon. Let me keep it very simple for you, if you don't have all the school fees and £5400 or £7200 maintenance money please forget about UK admission. If you want to study in Russia look for a school and deal with them directly, avoid any agent |

Ola one: So, how many times do you eat per day? Let's start from that question. A small sachet of Encona Gari is 'bout 4 pounds. You haven't told us if you live on 30/57 pounds a week.
It is only students who abide by your 20hrs/week thingy who have committed themselves to a life full of stress and depressed existence in the UK. Whether you want to abide by the law or not that is another issue, when you are caught breaking the law you explain that to the authority. I don't spend £30 every week, when i spent that much in a week on food and drinks then i will not be shopping for food next week, i eat 3times a day. |

Ola one: Your calculation is not correct. We are talking about per week. Surely , you need at least 10/pounds on fish/meat per week. I just debunked your assertion that 100 pounds is too much even if you eat out everyday in Naija restaurants.
A Pink Lady apple a day is at least 5 pounds/week. Do you eat only one type of fruit? 10 pounds on fruits 15 pounds on coffee/tea (according to you; a bit high though) 10 pounds on fish/meat 12 pounds in Naija restaurant/pub (just a visit/week) 20 pounds/week to dine out @ your uni (according to you) 5 pounds on water/juice (according to your post) at least 12/week on Poundo/elubo/gari/oil/vegetables/seasoning/sugar/tea/salt/etc (less that what you claimed in your post)
Let's say 6 pounds for miscellaneous.
This is 90/week. And, this is a very average student living standard in the UK.
You said something about dying of depression, are you talking about those students who work and earn decent wages (most students in the UK work). Will you be buying pounded yam and Gari every week and still spend £32 on Nigerian food and dinning out? I mean. . are you born to eat or you came to the Uk for food? You saying this as if you came to the UK purely for food. What decent wage does average foreign student earn in the UK? |
Travel › Re: Nigerian Students In The Uk How Do You Survive? by justwise(mod): 11:57am On Mar 30, 2012 |
Ola one: Thanks. Now, we are about to get there. We are @57 pounds, okay? Your calculation was based on the assumption that you visit all these places once a week. And that you have a drink at your uni once a week. So bro, how much do you spend on fruits? And water/juice/drinks?
We will get there bro. This is a system I really understand.
Again: If looking fresh/handsome/beautiful/full of life is important to you in the UK, you need 'bout 100 hundred pounds or more/week.
I know you, Justwise, spend more than 57/week £57 is on high end, you will not be buying meat and fish worth £10 everyday or £5 yam everyday. 1.5KG of pounded yam is just £3.80. Somebody that suggested £30 a week is right, that is reasonable amount to spend whether you home-cook or eat-out or even both. If you spent £100 a week on food and drink then in a yr that will cost you £5200. How will you pay your rent and bills on (£5400 or £7200 maintenance money)? You will not look good and fresh after spending all that money and can't pay rent and bills, depression will become your middle name |
Travel › Re: Nigerian Students In The Uk How Do You Survive? by justwise(mod): 11:31am On Mar 30, 2012 |
Ola one: Okay, how much do you spend a week? How much do spend on fruits? How much meat/fish/yam/etc do you buy a week? Besides, do you eat at home 24/7? Do you take your soup full of locust beans to work/college? You don't buy coffee/tea/water in shops at all no matter how cold/thirsty you are? You don't eat out at all - no matter what? How much do you expend at your local Sainsbury's/Asda/week? Do you drink only concentrate juice/etc?
I really need you to explain? Let say i spent £5 on fruit a week, £10 on meat and fish a week, £5 on pounded yam, £20 on lunch a week. £15 on coffee (£3 per day) £5 on water a week, that will only cost me £60. The list is to the extremely because no responsible foreign student spends that way. £100 a week is ridiculous amount of money to spend a week on food and drink. |

Ola one: A medium cup of coffee at Costa is about 3 pounds. Even the cheapest oulets will still set you back at least 1.50 pounds. Don't tell me you have never bought coffee in any of these shops. Once a week visit to a Nigerian restaurant will cost you at least 12 pounds. Even your local pub (And I sulk at alcohol, so I don't). Or you simply don't socialize?
Twice a week dining out in your college will at least cost you 8 pounds. You can't live on bags of crips everyday let's be sincere, guys. How much do you spend on Elubo/Poundo/Gari/Red Oil/Maggi/Vegetables/etc? Ask those who visit Macdo/KFC/etc (I don't), a meal there will set you back 'bout 4 pounds. So, how do you do it? C'mon bro. 3+12+8+4= £27 + Elubo/Poundo/Gari/Red Oil/Maggi/Vegetables = let say you spend £5 every week on each, it will cost you £30.Total = £57Does that come anything close to £100 a week? Even if you eat Nigerian food everyday at the cost of £12 it will not cost you £100 a week to survive in the UK. |
