This woman's stories just doesn't add up.
1. Why oh why would a heavily pregnant lady not know that she is carrying more than one babies?!
2. She claims there is "no support network" for her in Nigeria; on the contrary, Nigeria has one of the best social support networks for pregnant/nursing mothers.3. Her husband abandoned her on hearing the news; what a load of s/h?i/t?e! Nigeria is not known for having "feckless" dads, why would a husband travel to the UK, and then go back to Nigeria when he knows his wife is enjoying the best treatment money can buy?!4. She knew the possibility of having multiple fetuses because it is clearly written on the leaflet of the fertility pill she was on.In my opinion, this lady carefully and fraudulently planned to abuse the NHS. As soon as she and her kids are well enough to travel, she should be flown to Nigeria, her visa revoked until she and her husband pays every dime owed to the NHS. angry
I don't believe her story that she didn't know that she was carrying more than one baby , yes she does know that but she told those lies to give her kids the best chance of survival and i got no problem with that, the NHS can bill her, no amount is worth more than those 5 precious kids.

The question is when is this "common sense" going to stop eventually. People have been abusing this "common sense" for decades, and this has contributed in no small measure to the mess we experience in the NHS today. I know of people in Nigeria with long term visiting visas who travel all the way to the UK to see their GP at the slightest whim, yet people who live here have to deal with long waiting times for a 10 minute GP appointment.
I'm not talking about pple who deliberately abuse the system, for me, pple like that should be made to pay double, but this lady's situation is very different, even a premier league footballer will struggle to cope if the wife gave birth to  quins, i mean, this is not just ordinary child birth, i feel sorry for the lady, i don't care how much it cost the NHS cos the lives of those 5kids and their mother is priceless.

The NHS should harvest her organs for transplants to recover the costs.
The children can be sold to rich pop stars like Maddona so that  UK tax payers do not meet the bill.

All women coming to UK should be made to take pregnancy test and sent home if pregnant.
That is very st/upid  thing to say, to me her life and that of her kids are more important than whatever it cost the NHS. Yes its wrong to abuse the system but this situation calls for some common sense.

my questions needs urgent attention pls.

if its stated in your CAS that you should show your original certificate and transcript for visa application but you dont have original transcript.
the person's school does not give original transcript but they give a stamped and signed copy with a covering not also signed by the academic officer.
will this be acceptable at the embassy?what should the person do? awaiting your kind reply
thank you
Why is the cover letter not signed by ur school?

@justwise, with d uni owing me 300 pounds of maintenance and indicating it on my CAS, do you think I wud be fine?? Please advice
You will be more than fine, but getting a recent letter from ur uni to support that will help, cos though its indicated in the CAS, the ECO may look at the date the CAS was issued and thought maybe the uni have refunded you the money.

So getting a recent letter will show that the uni still own u.

these ecos dont take any prisoners there is no common sense, rationality or discretion in their decision making they only interprete as the rules say
he might get rejected but if he does appeal and faces a judge and prepares his application thoroughly i dont see why he shouldnt get it
I agree with u but this is a case of somebody taking money out and returning it within an hour, the 28days rule hasn't really worked for UKBA as more and more pple are winning appeals made based on 28days rule.

My mate was in similar situation last yr, he was refused visa extension based on the 28days rule, he had all the money in 2 different account, he moved the money into one account b4 submitting his application but cos the day he moved the money ran short of 28days rule, the ECO refused his application stating that the money hasn't stayed 28days even as the money had stayed 28days in separate bank accounts b4 been moved into one account and my mate made a note of that in his application.

I encouraged him to appeal rather than re-applying, the hearing date set and i went with him for some support, the UKBA did not turn up in the tribunal centre, the case file was left with the Judge and it took him just 20mins to pass his judgement in favour of my mate, just few questions were asked about his course and we left the tribunal centre happy, about a month later the UKBA sent his visa.
I agree with you completely that is I asked for the poster to check her online statement to see if both the withdrawal and payment reflected same day on the statement.
My concern is that the ECO may just gloss over the statement and pick out the line of printout where the balance was below the minimum requirement without actually realizing that it was a temproary withdrawal which was credited back within hours. - I know a case very similar to this where the ECO refused the Tier 1 application and it was the AIT judge who took his time to spot the ECO's errorneous mistake that save the day for that applicant and his appeal was allowed-Another concern is the way the immigration rules are worded and how ECOs follow them up like black letter law - hence the reason I made the suggestion to the poster to use a joint account statement in addition to her own statement and the let the ECO know of the shortfall in a letter like you rightly suggested.
I will be shocked if the ECO refused an in-country applicant cos of an hour withdraw that did not affect the days count or the required amount, i have seen worst cases, but this is nothing to worry about.
Travel › Re: Urgent Uk Visa Extension Advice by justwise(mod): 9:20pm On Jul 02, 2011
@Omo_Tier1

I don't think the poster will be denied a visa if he applies with that bank statement, he took the money out and returned it the SAME day, all he needs to do is to write a letter  attached to his visa application calling the ECO's attention to the mistake or even use the blank space provided in that form to explain what really happened.

I really do not see him been denied a visa in this situation. If they denied him a visa then he will definitely win the appeal.

From my understanding, a passport is only stamped on entry or exit from the Shengen zone. After entering the Shengen zone, an individual is allowed to travel freely anywhere within the Shengen territory, and his passport/visa is not checked because internal border controls between shengen countries have been abolished. For instance, if I travel from UK to France via Germany, the only time my Shengen visa will be checked will be when I leave UK and on arrival in Germany. If I take a bus from Germany to France, nobody bothers to check for visas because I am already within the shengen zone. Na so I understand dis shengen stuff, but I could be wrong though huh
That maybe the case when there is a road -link btw two Schengen countries, but if u have to fly then ur passport and visa will be checked at the airport. Even with the bus journey, you could be stopped at the bus terminal and asked to show an ID.

First of all, someone who is illegal in the EU has nothing to loose by going to try. Secondly, the Shengen region operates a visa-less zone, as long as someone is within Shengen, no immigration bothers to ask anyone for visas.
Those persons who are unsuccessful after selection are given their passports and 20 euro/day they have spent in selection, and they are told to leave. Whether they choose to remain in France or leave to another Shengen country is not the business of the FFL, it is the business of the persons concerned themselves. Anyone who prefers to remain illegal in the EU, rather than try this option is on his own. My own na to show una the path, whether una waka the path or not no concern me grin grin grin
Bros that is not entirely true, if u are traveling from one Schengen country to another. . u need to show ur passport at the point of entry, and if ur passport don't have the appropriate visa then ur journey ends there. Visa-less means that u don't need to apply for visa for each Schengen country u want to visit, all u need is one visa which will allow u to visit other Schengen countries.

hey guys thanks for your post.

what you have not addressed is whether your expiring/expired visas will be extended during the FFL program.
will they really allow somebody living without any status to be in the training prigram?
i have checked the website thorougly and cant see anywhere where it is hinted that illegals would be accepted,so am really cautious about it.
can you throw more light on this please.
cheers
You have to join b4 ur visa expires

That link will be up for sale pretty soon, you will see some Nigerians selling it as an e-book on how to get EU resident permit. Just watch out. They will abuse the system and ruin it for legitimate Nigerians or other Africans.

Such visa can't be extended or entitle the holder to work and there is no LEGAL way of getting a permit with that visa

your right justwise but the dude has already got the viza and i dont think he has that money to study in the uk, moreover he has hard time at home, its just a sport program for temporary stay. i dont realy know about the uk and how the magic happens there concerning resident permit cheers
The first thing he need to do is to tell you the conditions of that visa, he should know his entitlements as a holder as sport visa then its easy to advice him.

Your friend need to know what that sports visa allows him to do, e.g, . .can he engage in any form of studying with it? Is he allowed to do voluntary work with it? Any possibility of extending it? If yes then what are the conditions?

I wouldn't encourage him to abuse the privilege of getting that visa cos that will close doors for other Nigerians.

Any Nigerian living illegally in the EU who is determined and knows his legitimacy in Europe depends on getting the French passport go learn French within a month by force. In fact, an illegal Nigerian who gets this opportunity, after a month go even speak French pass the average French man sef grin grin grin. Whether he will survive the harsh training is another matter entirely grin
You maybe right on that, but with our love for fake/forgery documents, getting selected will be even harder let alone going through to learn French.

So the question is what has an illegal living in a shengen country got to loose by going to try it out?! The answer may well be that most Nigerians when pushed to the wall will prefer to burrow into the wall and remain there in their comfort zone rather than taking risks.
Some Nigerians prefer 'short cut' to certain things in life, you also have to remember that FFL don't take pple with criminal records, some Nigerians living illegally in Europe are involved in all sorts of crimes, some have destroyed any legitimate ID that could be used to identify them hence ruling out any chance of joining FFL

I know of an Indian guy who paid 10,000 Euros to a German university for a MSc programme. As soon as he secured the Student visa from India, he used it to go straight to France to join the FFL, and luckily he was taken. He abandoned his 10,000 euros with the German university, and is today serving in the FFL at the end of which he will be getting the French passport. If Indians and Chinese can travel all the way from their respective countries to join, then why not Nigerians living illegally in the EU?! Nigerians too fear for their life jare grin
Well. . . he will get his 10,000 euros in a yr IF selected cos they are paid about 1,000 euros monthly with accommodation, food. .etc. The draw back is to be able to understand and speak French in a month then the intense training.
