We are the ones that praise these countries for having working systems but will also be the first to expect them to circumvent their system for our own selfish interests. Now I used "selfish interest" not to be inconsiderate but because that's the appropriate term to use.

First question, did she notify the relevant authorities when her dad passed away? And did she even list her dad as her sponsor initially because if she didn't, his death his meaningless to her stay except she wants to take leave to travel down for his burial.

Secondly, is she doing her 1st degree or Msc because I don't think Msc lasts for 3 years. I may be wrong. If her program is still on, I don't think the UK would have arrived at the decision.

Companies in the US employs cheap labor from Africa and Asia causing job loss in the USA. There are over 7 million unemployed citizens in the country because nonimmigrant does the job even better with lower pay. Also, H1B visa is a partway to permanent resident which some religion extremist have used this path.

Most especially the trend where France, the UK, Germany etc allowed massive Middle East inflows and they are already having problems with them. There is nothing unhealthy about that. Nigeria should work for the benefit of Nigerians. That way no one would long to leave the country for anywhere else.

Gurus in the house, I urgently need your help regarding my situation.

We are a family of five currently residing in the UK on a Health and Care Worker Visa. My wife, who is the main applicant, has recently been issued a second Certificate of Sponsorship by her employer for the next three years. We are now due to extend our old visas, which expire in November 2025.

Unfortunately, my passport and the passports of our kids have expired. We have already started the renewal process in London, but it is unlikely that the new passports will be ready before we submit our visa applications to Home office. These are my questions :

1. Will the expiration of our passports affect the processing of our visa applications? Will it cause delays or require additional documentation?

2. Are there any risks or consequences of not updating our passport details or applying with expired passports?

3. What supporting documentation should we provide if our passports are expired at the time of application?

4. How might the expiration of our passports affect the application timeline? Is it still possible to complete the process within the expected timeframe?

We are quite worried about the possible impact this may have and would greatly appreciate your advice on the best way forward.

I trusted him because of his posts on Facebook and other of his social media handles. I already researched to know that Luxembourg sponsorship work visa permit takes maximum of 5 months that's why I didn't bother all these while not until I noticed I've been blocked on his Facebook page from where I got to know him 4yrs ago. It was then I began to make inquiries about him extensively and got here. Someone I've followed for 4 years and no single being has complained about him, that was what made me to trust him and it can also happen to anyone else. I didn't know all these complaints about him until I reached here through my deeper inquiries about him. I'm waiting till the time he assured me in his email expires and nothing positive happens which am still hopeful but if it doesn't and he fails to refund me then I will every instrument of the law to get my money and everything I spend while on it.

I'm yet to get a job contract offer that will be used to process the visa for my biometrics at the Belgium embassy that Luxembourg uses as their Consulate. He's been assuring me that it's on process and it's almost 5months now yet I don't even know the status of the process. My heart sank inside its cavity the moment I typed about him extensively on Google to see this post about him after he blocked me on Facebook unjustifiably. Haven't being myself since then. I hope he delivers or he refunds me my money if he fails to.

Not just one policy, but I would advocate for a strategy overhaul including:

1. Comms Department - They need to find an effective way to SHOUT OUT their accomplishments and control the narrative. Right now, no one really knows what they have done or are doing.

2. Appoint a dynamic spokesperson/ spin doctor (remember Alastair Campbell?) who is media savvy, has lots of political experience/ nous and can connect with the masses.

3. Find some quick wins to address the key issues that people are most concerned about. Polls show that the 2 most critical issues affecting even Labour supporters are:

- Immigration: Start delivering effective, easy/quick measures to reduce boat crossings and net migration.

The media is already shouting that 1000 asylum seekers arrived by boat yesterday, the 1st day of Shabana's job as Home Sec.
Labour is due to announce that they will rehouse asylum seekers into military sites/army barracks and close dozens of asylum hotels earlier than planned.

This is another U-turn for Labour as they were against the idea last year, but if they implement it successfully it will stave off Reform's attack lines and help quell people's anger at the perception that asylum seekers are hopping off a boat and into all inclusive 3* hotels, while a growing number of British citizens are homeless or living in rundown hostels.

- Economy, including taxes: I know it is not easy but Reeves desperately needs to find a way in the Autumn Budget to take the pressure off the middle class.
Tackle welfare reform - fairly and compassionately - but those who can work should be firmly supported back into work, while there should be incentives to encourage working people and foster the message that work pays.

They need to find ways to boost growth and productivity, but at the same time be brave enough to go after big corporations (see EUs actions on this) and the very wealthy e.g. non doms who are not paying their fair share of tax.

The above will give Labour some breathing room while they advance other policy areas.

In a country where so much depends on welfare this is almost impossible! The backlash no government can cope with. The waters has been tested already and the outcome has never been pleasant. Tax rises will surely continue to accommodate welfare payments.

This I completely agree with.

The real mystery is how Labour can have a 150 seat majority - the largest since Blair - and just 1 year from the GE, they are trailing behind Reform, a fringe party, in the polls. It's bananas and completely unprecedented.

Like I said earlier, there's still time and hope, but Labour really need to get their act together fast - they won't really be able to blame anyone else but themselves if they lose the next GE.

Always said I want Reform to win- some lessons need to be learned twice. Farage would likely go out of his way to be brutal mainly by limiting settlement pathways but wouldn't be surprised immigration actually rises under a Reform government just like it did with B.Jo. When the rioting scroungers today get their benefits cut under Reform, their tune will change.

Its quite interesting whenever I hear far-right protesters speak. Within seconds, the tone rings familiar- I know this cohort like the back of my hand. Reminds me during the last riot when Nigerian folks in my community were scared. Na me dey ginja dem to forget that cohort. Na my customers.

Eitherway, it's likely that Labour in a bid to stave off Reform will do everything to cut legal migration futher creating a drag on the economy. Reform might come in and do some performance politics while ultimately increasing migration. Economics no get bias.
One thing I've always asked- would those protesting today have an issue if we double the number of migrants but remove the right to settlement i.e create a servile class?

Well said, the Latinos in particular were the ones who made Trump win and funny enough they are the ones bearing the brunt now with the mass deportation spree. 😂 Despite Trump and his gang raining racial abuses on them during the campaign they thought they were being smart in avoiding another black president. Now some republican states are redistricting their congressional maps to ensure Latino votes are more suppressed for future elections.

The so called proponents of freedom of speech are always the most intolerant people you can ever find anywhere on this earth. Their own speech is what they protect not others.

What the Dems did wrong was to focus almost entirely on attacking Trump's character, instead of addressing the real issues people were angry/worried about such as the economy and the Mexican border. They failed to bring forward reasonable policies or answer the valid question of what Kamala would do differently to solve the issues, given she had already been VP for 4 years.

I know Femi Oluwole and I supported him during his very vocal campaigning during Brexit. The point I was making is that people are being drawn to Reform not only because of the small boats issue - people are also frustrated about e.g. high taxes (more tax rises coming in November) without seeing where their money is going, they feel like nothing is working, no growth, minimal productivity....and while this isn't Labour's fault as they inherited the rot in the system, - however they promised CHANGE! - and 14 months later, people are struggling to see any Labour improvements.

For example the recent 30 hr childcare expansion is very positive and will be a big help for working families, but this was a Tory policy!! Would Starmer's Labour have introduced this policy on their own? I don't think so.

If they don't stop tinkering and actually start delivering bold, impactful changes (quick wins at least, not everything has to wait till 2028) then people will look for an alternative - whether that is Reform, Libdems or Greens/Your Party.

The one gimmick Farage is very good at, like Trump, is recognising, giving voice to and exploiting the grievances of the silent majority. Farage knows that people are angry about issues such as immigration, stealth tax rises squeezing the middle class, crime levels e.g. shoplifting, overflowing prisons, lack of housing, "two tier" justice, "wokeism", loss of freedom of speech, public services etc etc

Blair was also very good at connecting with the people and addressing their concerns, but unfortunately thus far, this Labour seems out of touch with all sides and that's why they are bleeding support - they don't appear to be pleasing anyone.

There's still time and hope to stave off Reform, but Labour needs to learn from the mistake of the Democrats - stop playing ad hominem, come out of your echo chamber and start delivering TANGIBLE policies that will improve lives. People want to see real change, not more long-dated promises.

The problem with the uk is that so many of their citizens too live in many countries and there is a limit to how far they can go in suppressing foreigners for example the echr also protects Brits living in European countries, the uk also live off so much goodwill from so many countries so suspending foreign aids totally is not that simple.
