Please,my people,l have been saving my money , but now if my tuition fees is 12500 pounds, and lf l pay 6000 pounds

Can l be able to work and pay the rest in uk.

The money for visa and health insurance is not the problem .

My concern is the balance of my school fees
1. How long do you have to pay the remaining balance?

2. How about the maintenance money?

@Mosun8220 pls get in touch with Mr Lekan lije everyone said. I have watched him saved many families and reunites them with their kids after taken away by social workers. You can watch some if his videos and learn some defensive skills there.
Taking your kids straight away without investigation is not how things works and i feel they are trying to target immigrants cos my sister british citizen whose son accused abuse never got her kids taken away as they investigated the matter and the child later exonerates the parents that they never did it but was just trying to paint a story.
I don’t believe this is true, social workers will not take your child straight away without any investigation, they will investigate the issue before it gets to the point of taking your kids, I’m not in any way supporting the idea of taking kids away from their parents, parents need support and time to get things right.

Social worker is not targeting immigrants, the problem here is that immigrants especially the new arrivals are more likely to get in trouble with social workers as they may not be aware of certain laws as regards the child welfare laws.

I’m not a huge fan of social workers even though I understand why they were established. I don’t believe that kids taken into social welfare end up better than staying with parents.

Parents make mistakes however I don’t think they should be punished by taking away their kids.

They are currently in foster care and we don’t have access to them.

One of them sneaked out of the house to his friend’s place without the knowledge of my wife . It was from his friend’s place that he told them we used to beat him with TV cable which is not true. They informed the social worker and we got arrested. Then my employer was informed and I was disengaged me and my COS was cancelled.

Currently we are in court. Both parents are involved.
You have two cases here unfortunately, letter from HO asking you people to leave the country and the social work case.

Firstly email the HO and explain to them that you have an ongoing case with social workers and present evidence.

Seek legal counseling regarding social workers's case as it can take very long to settle

giselle237 not Giselle.
I have to agree with AKALAMAGBO', I don’t know why you went nuclear on gender about this.

How will we discuss this without bringing the father into it?

And to your point about mothers knowing what is best for the children and in a better position to make decisions for their future? If that is true then the street of London and major UK cities would be a safer place. Vast majority of knife stabbing is London and other cities are carried out by kids with no biological father in their lives and they hardly finish school

You don’t know the level of the father involvement in her life, the child in question is 9 years old, she is able to know her right and left. I can boldly tell you she doesn’t recognize her father, that's because he doesn’t care and he has never bn involve in her life
I left Nigeria 2years ago he never went to her to visit her Knowles fully well I’m not around, so how is my move affect a relationship that wasn’t there
A little explanation like this will make a different in your visa application, what you stated here is believable and its very common.

Like i said before..traveling with kids out of Nigeria or Africa in general as a single parent is very difficult because of too many cases of child trafficking, before 2018 a DNA test will be requested by the embassy but they have stopped that now for legal reasons .

This refusal has given you areas to concentrate on when reapplying, resubmit all legal documents you submitting before and more if you have.

You stated that you submitted sole responsibility document, however the ECO did not acknowledge this in that refusal letter, you may have to mention this in your letter to the new ECO who will be handling your application.

Don't forget that you need to make some arrayments here for the child and attach the evidence with the application....things like accommodation, school, childcare and explain how you will juggle her care with your full time job.

All the very best.

That's what I was trying to tell jústwise..the ECo has deceptively created a catch 22 out of that visa application......claimed sole custody is not enough, and asked for consent letter, which is also grounds for refusal when sole custody is in place..
You are approaching this case one sided, I don’t see any deception here as ECO clearly explained why sole custody alone is not enough as requesting more information.

Lincoln4u:
I’ve seen cases where child visa was refused just because fathers letter was obtained after they submitted sole responsibility
That may be true but cases are different, a family friend got a sole custody of her kids but the husband still see the kids twice a week and the court are aware of this.

You need to explain this in your visa application form as the ECO may not be aware of certain issues regarding your separation.

You also need to consider the fact that the spotlight is on Nigerians regarding child trafficking to the UK.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by justwise(mod): 8:30pm On Jul 16, 2025
advanceDNA:
I read it.....and I still.maintain the eco was desperate for a refusal because a sole custody document was already enough for the mother to fly without the father consent....this is the standard.....

So bringing up sole responsibility grammar to nullify sole custody judgement of a court that already assessed the welfare of the child is dubious
Yes standard but not always the case. she is bringing the kid to the UK where the system takes the issue of child welfare a lot more seriously
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by justwise(mod): 7:35pm On Jul 16, 2025
advanceDNA:
The entry clearance officer was just desperate to refuse the visa...I mean, when did they start using sole responsibility to downplay sole custody judgement ...and further claimed no court can give such judgement ...
As harsh as the refusal might sound but ECO was really digging in for the child’s welfare , the refusal is well detailed and the more you read it the more you understand more.

Lincoln4u:
I submitted sole custody/responsibilty
Sole custody or sole parental responsibility? They are not the same but related. That is the point the ECO was making in that letter.

You have three options: appeal the decision, reapply or ask for reconsideration.

You need to provide more evidence as to why the father is not involved in this. If you are still in contact with the father then get a written consent from him.

Woman smuggled baby into UK using fake birth story

The case, the second the BBC has followed through the Family Court in recent months, reveals what experts say is a worrying trend of babies possibly being brought to the UK unlawfully - some from so-called "baby factories" in Nigeria.

'My babies are always hidden'
The woman, who we are calling Susan, is Nigerian, but had been living in England since June 2023, with her husband and children.

A careworker with leave to remain in Britain, Susan claimed she was pregnant. But scans and blood tests showed that wasn't true. Instead, they revealed Susan had a tumour, which doctors feared could be cancerous. But she refused treatment.

Susan insisted her previous pregnancies had been invisible on scans, telling her employer, "my babies are always hidden". She also claimed she'd been pregnant for up to 30 months with her other children.

Susan had travelled to Nigeria in early June 2024, saying she wanted to have her baby there, and then contacted her local hospital in Britain, to say she had given birth.

Doctors were concerned and contacted children's services. Arriving back in the UK with the baby girl - who we're calling Eleanor - Susan was stopped and arrested by Sussex Police....

Since 2021 the UK government has restricted adoptions from Nigeria, partly because of "evidence of organised child trafficking" within the country.

I went back to read the whole article and it’s shocking. The length at which this couple went to fight for this fraud is extraordinary. All their lies falling apart but they keep pushing with more lies.

This part of the story got me:

When Eleanor is adopted she will have a new identity and British nationality - but she may never know who her real parents are

Abeg disregard that guy, he is only educated but not literate. He claimed he was discouraged from travelling years back, how come someone like me wasn't deterred from coming just 2 years ago? Simply because I read and researched deeply and knew the best and possibly the last time I could come was in September 2023 because barring dependant started in January 2024.
He was even saying before Care, people were relocating but was lazy enough not to do findings the route people explored.
The thing is people not in UK don't really understand this immigration policy and that's the essence of a forum like this to explain. Then individuals can make their decisions on what to do. It is about being informed, not being discouraged.
Life is about risk, if u feel the risk is worth it, leap on.
Why would i discourage people from coming to the UK? The person is coming to take my job? House or family? Any idea how many people i have helped to get into this country since 2009 without asking for a penny? I have never met a single one of them and have no interest in meeting them. Its extremely ignorant to think that people warning you about the danger ahead is trying to discourage you.

AI will not tell you that in 2017 that it cost 3M to study in the UK and no oyibo will tell you that as well.

You never had 11M + in 2017 and was struggling to spend just 3M for travel.

I don't know you and have never met you physically so how will i know that the bank statement and passport belongs to you and not someone else? Does that make sense to you?

You are not smart enough to read and understand how visa processing works hence your calculation here and inability to understand visa rules. You can't even beat the system even if someone outlines the process for you.

Nobody will tell you that because its all lies, you are clueless and got no money to travel. Some people actually have more than that 18K in 2017 for student visa process and those people are not here hunting for feel-good stories to encourage them.

Like i said before..you got no money to travel, you are one of those looking for illegal means to travel.

Go and calculate it, before Tinubu people were still leaving for under N5m. If you like argue with your keyboard.

School fees deposit.... £2k
Ihs and visa fee..... £500
Blocked funds for living expenses..... £500
Tuberculosis test.........£60
Ticket.....£300
First month accommodation and feeding £1000
Total.......~£5000 at N600=N3m the actual money wasn't up to

If you want to bet N1m, I can print my balance from that time that showed I had N12m in my account for over 5 months. I don't talk based on assumptions.
You just displayed how ignorant you are with this nonsense calculation.

Blocked funds for living expenses..... £500?

In 2015 the maintenance money for outside and inner London are £1,265 and £1,015 per month

If school fees deposit was 2K what happened to the rest of the fees?

I have never seen care work as a path to remaining in the UK. The loss of that access is not the end of the world. All these talk especially from this thread in 2017 was the reason I didn't travel because students were going and returning back home.

What I never saw or knew was that some people stayed back without becoming illegal. No problem if immigration rules are tightened but no help on walk arounds, just information that causes fear.

What used to cost N3m is now almost N20m and what I see as negative vibes are still floating freely to cause confusion and fear in the hearts of intending students.

The suffering I have had to endure.

Maybe I don't need this thread self. Make I dey run my thing quietly.
That is not the reason you did not travel, you could not travel simply because you could not afford it and was looking for someone to give you shortcut story to success. Studying in the UK cost way more than 3M in 2017.

If you had what it requires to study in the UK then the so called negative stories wouldn't have stopped you.

Lol bro, I've stayed in abroad in the past for a few years and I know how it feels about the "depression" part (assuming we are talking about the same thing).
My point is that many 9ja folks in the UK have made it a habit of spreading fear and posting mostly the sad stories about abroad, but yet they're still living there. Can't our people in the UK share the good stories sometimes? Or must it be fear fear all the time?
It's not easy anywhere and especially in a new country but this is an opportunity that comes with risks. In all, we hope for a better future. ✌️
People do share positive news and when they do a lot of Nigerians will accuse them of showing off or presenting the UK as heaven, you hear things like..there is nothing in the UK, bills are killing them, they are second class citizens, they are suffering and smiling bla bla bla

When they share bad news the same Nigerians will start moaning and saying don't discourage us, Nigeria is hell, we rather suffer and die in the UK etc. So what exactly do you people want?
