Are you minding them...I waited all day until about 9pm when I was tired of waiting. I went online and saw a telephone number. I called and a woman with naija accent picked one dial...very quick picking for such late call . Gave her the reference number and she said let her look into it and call me back. After 2 mins the money was paid .......

Meaning there was no true hold up. angry . Not sure if the delay was because I paid via bank transfer and they just hadn't manually processed it . Their rate much better than worldremit
Yea they are giving 570 today

People still using worldremit? Even Azimo will soon disappear on my phone

Hello good morning everyone,
This is my first time on this platform.

Please I would like to enquire about the student visa requirement on how to apply.
I got admission since March at the university of hull for masters in chemical engineering for septemeber2020 and unfortunately for me, I was not certain I would go. But I have decided to go.

Is it possible I can still make this September entry?
Also if I plan to defer, how can I go about the process and well the bank statement. My dad is my sponsor.
1. Do you have all the requirements ready?..all the money needed in your bank account for 28?

2. Done your TB test?

If your answer to all that question is No then defer your admission to Jan or next Sept because you can't make it..

RETRACTION

UAE government through her Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria said there was NO SUSPENSION of visa issuance to Nigerians.

I hereby RETRACT the information I posted earlier.

Ope4Christ:
Thanks for coming out to say the truth.

I have moved on from yesterday's happenings. I remain committed to helping my fellow Nigerians who are WILLING TO LISTEN. The information I do post is NOT for everybody but for anyone who might be in need of it.

@Topshow4real, he said he renewed his Work/Resident Permit yesterday but FAILED to inform us WHEN he/ his company started the process. Obviously, the process could have started TWO to THREE WEEKS before final approval which he said yesterday. He would never have issue since he must have lived in UAE for two years and has already been on RESIDENT PERMIT only trying to RENEW, except if he has committed any crime.

The information I posted was for FRESH APPLICANTS who were trying to do Work/Resident Permit and Visa Change since last week.

We still went to AMER Centre this morning, they gave us the same story as that of yesterday.

I remain committed to the JUST COURSE of helping my countrymen and women who are WILLING TO LISTEN.

Peace.
Only you..pretty soon you are going to retract this again.

There is a reason why as soon as we make little money we all come running out of Low income areas into Nice Middle Class areas.
You are running away from gang war and not poverty.

In the UK a lot of the gangs starts in council estate and lower income areas or deprived areas

In posh areas you see quiet drug taking kids yes but gang and violence I don't think so
The gang thing is a cultural thing, its not about poverty, gang leaders and their errand boys/girls make a lot of money per hour than many working 9-5 jobs. Investing that money in things like property is a problem because it is difficult to defend source of that money

But I never said there weren't good parents in working class environments. What I said is that in comparison to the working class, the middle class produces more well behaved kids which is true.

There is a reason why the Gang/Yob culture is more prevalent in Working class communities. Tbh I am struggling to name one Middle class community that has this problem. Another institution that exposes the stark difference between the two communities are schools. It's of no co-incidence the Majority of Good schools are located in Nice Middle Class areas.

The kids that attend these schools are not necessarily smarter, they are however by and large better behaved. Behaviourial issues is one of the biggest hinderances to Educational attainment in the country.
The gang issue is not about poverty, gang issue is about drug dealing and control of areas.

Kids fall into gang masters when parents are not there, dad%mum are busy chasing money or absent dad problem.

Kids don't join gang because they are hungry, they join gang because they look up to these gang leaders as figure of authority.

They want to be loved and cared for, to them its a family, symbol of unity ..something they lack at home because parents are too busy working or couldn't careless

Real quick!
I have a uncle in the UK who is a citizen and he assured me that if I can change my surname to his, he will fly me over to the UK.

I'm a 300L student studying economics here in Nigeria, and my name is .... ( This is the name I have in all my documents) and the surname my uncle want me to change to is 'Richard' so after changing my name it will look like this "Dayo Richard".

I want to apply for a change of name (to address the surname)

After doing the change of name I want to also apply for my National Identification Registration with (NIMC) which definitely I will have to do a new Birth Certificate with my new name.

Now my problem is this :
Will the change of surname affect my travelling documents if I want to apply for a visa, since the surname I have on my academic documents is different from my new surname?

What do you think I can do to balance everything?

Thanks
Your uncle is ignorant, i guess he wants to bring you to the UK as his son right? Remind him that the British high commission will ask for DNA test and birth certificate as evidence, so change your name all you want but you can't change your DNA

You are right there is good and bad in all classes it all depends on the upbringing, sometimes good parent turn out unruly kids. That's life. Also by giving your kids everything they want and making them too comfortable, most times you are not doing them any favours.
Bringing up well behaved children is not about giving them money and best gadget money can buy in place of quality time with them, its about discipline, financial education, stamping out any snip of wayward behavior at the young age before it becomes way of life.

Kids who grew up depending on bank of mum$ dad can't stand hardship, can't survive without running back to family house when the going gets tough.

I don't think Chasing money and bring up healthy well behaved kids are mutually exclusive. As someone already said on this thread, unless your income bracket puts in the Top 10% of earners in the country, it's extremely difficult to raise a family on a Single Income.

May I also add with regards to raising kids, your environment matters. There is a reason why well behaved Kids more often than not come from Middle class Families as opposed to Working class ones.
That is not true, good parents are in every class.

The savings difference between your approach and and say a PCP is probably ~£100 - 120 each way.

That's not enough to lead you into the realms of financial freedom. It's not going to make a difference in terms of affluence.

So what's really the point? Your stay at home wife hops bus and taxi everywhere she wants to go, and maybe saves £100 a month.

That's £1200 a year in savings for 12 months of sufferhead..

What's the point? What's that money doing in real terms?
You are missing the point by focusing on money money and money alone..bro quality time with your family is priceless

Obviously you will save more than £1200 year plus family time..

Subletting your parental responsibilities to nannies while you chase money is irresponsible in my opinion

Firstly, a family of 4 isn't a large family.

Secondly I agree with your sentiments, but this entire discussion is based on your suggestion that wives should stay at home to raise the kid if the family can afford it.

The argument for or against a second car is dependent on circumstances and location.

If you live in London, both of you might not even have cars.

If you dont, then there's a strong case for 2 cars. How does the stay at home mom move around when you've taken the car go work?

She's at home with at least one kid, should she really be reliant on public transport to get around?

Should she be pushing pram on and off buses? She needs to move around with kids and kids stuff, surely she should expect a basic level of comfort?

How much is she even saving by taking public transport? For example, zone 1-6 travel card is £66 a week...or 240 a month...

You can get car payments for cheaper.

I think we can agree that you will have to sacrifice quality of life perks to make a single income household work.

My position is that you can sacrifice all you want, but the amount of money you can actually save is very little, and without the extra income that your wife could be bringing in, it's very likely that you never get out this cycle.

Do the maths and you'll see what I mean.
Uber/taxi? How much will that cost you a month compare to monthly car insurance, MOT, road tax, parking cost, and petrol for the second car + the cost of buying it?

The sacrifice you are making should not be in detriment of proper upbringing and quality time with kids

How is this advice correct? So what happens if the additional funds is not part of the maintenance funds or is one not supposed to use his or her account for any other transaction?
@mimilyrics @justwise, please clarify.
Paying additional money makes no difference, you can use the account for your day to day transactions as long as you don't go below the required amount and if you leave the account without transaction you are still good to go.

Well ..... not all housewives children are well behaved. It depends on the individual. Some mothers are at home but don't even do basic assignment with kids or activities. You see a lot of the benefit mothers not working in UK whose kids are yobs/ gangs yet the mothers are at home 24/7

I seen many working class mothers whose kids are well behaved . I think either way working or not working you just have to make time to instil the doctrine you want in your kids
Imagine what happens when the mother is hardly at home? I also see working mothers who keep their kids happy by spoiling them with money and gifts and these kids grow up thinking that life is easy, no value system, no discipline, just grow up like caged chickens with no life experiences.

It's not feasible for the average man to sustain a single income household long term. I know this from experience as I've been doing it from October 2018 to literally just yesterday when my wife started a new job (She was doing her masters).

If you assume a family of 4, living on a two bed rental property - Let's give the guy a generous annual salary of £40k - that's £2450 a month after tax
For arguments sake lets place this family in the midlands where average monthly rent is £800.
Lets say running costs including internet energy, water and council tax come to another £250
Lets say monthly cost of food is £200 (£50 a week)
Lets say they have two cars paying £400 for both

Before you say you even want to buy something for yourself - you've already spent 1650.

That means you have only around £800 a month in disposable income, and you need to build savings.

Statistically, it's more likely that if you're black, you live in london, which means your rent is somewhere in the 1200-1700 range as a conservative estimate

If you're earning 40K gaan, you're in the top 20% earners in the UK, meaning that statistically speaking it's more likely that you're not even earning that much.

There's no point in trying to train your kids Naija style at the expense of upward mobility. The best thing anyone can do for their kids in this country is to create a source of generational wealth for them, most likely through owning at least one property that they can inherit.

And you're statistically unlikely to achieve that on a single income household.

I know you mentioned if the man can afford it sha, but chances that the average man can afford it is extremely unlikely.
To start with..this idea of producing more kids on a limited income is the first downfall of many African families. If you want to have a bigger family then weigh your income, that is the major part of affordability check.

There is no rule anywhere that says that one must have a big family so as to be relevant in society.

Secondly..what do you need two cars for?

The money you spent maintaining the second car can go into savings for mortgage or invest it in shares, income bond for your kids.

Its not about how much you earn, its about how much you were able to keep, sensible spending, living within your income etc

If you are reckless you are reckless no matter how much you earn you will be on red and neck-deep in debt

I deposited my funds since 30th of June without any transaction in the account till 15th of July, only for my sch rep telling me that I would start counting my 28days from the 15th of July and then make another transaction a day before I print out the account statement. Gurus in the house I am lost at this very point.
You have nothing to worry about, your school rep is talking nonsense, you only make transaction if the printout did not show date on it then you can pay any amount into the account before printing the statement.

Good points well made eventhough I don't fully agree with it. I think the lackadaisical approach to Life is all well and good if it's Just Adults involved. It's when It involves Kids I take exception. Kids do not get to choose the Family they are born into and we all Know the Family you are born into goes a long away in determining how well you do in Life.

I believe a solid work ethic, good attitude, integrity and seeking self improvement should be encouraged in every society. Infact I do not know any upward mobile society that does not encourage it. Heck the example you gave of some Nigerian Women choosing to be full time housewives instead of entering the rather saturated Labour market shows ambition albeit a shallow one. Why you say? Because they intend on marrying Rich Ready Made Men or Social Upward Moving Men not the dregs of the society.

I doubt they are many people content claiming benefits for years. How can they be content when the majority of them live from hand to mouth daily(unless they are involved in Benefit Fraud) whilst making up the vast Majority of the Permanent Underclass? That's not contentment, that's called "Having no other Choice".
Chasing career and money in detriment of children cause more damage, i don't blame women who decided to stay home to look after their kids if the husband earns enough to care for the family. Bringing up well behaved children in the west is more than 24hrs job and can not be left in the hands of nannies.

Also is it best I use my salary account or my other savings account and support with my work payslip.

Updates about Issuance of Visas to Nigerians.

The UAE Government is no longer joking about Issuance of Visas to Nigerians, as all forms of Visas; Tourist, Work Permit, Visa Change and Residents Permit are temporarily suspended. This is coming as a result of so many crimes committed by Nigerians here ranging from prostitution, fighting, fraud, alcohol drinking, abortion, cultism, murder among others. The cases keep increasing by the day and yet few bad elements would not change their ways. We initially thought that non-issuance of tourist visas was only due to closure of Nigeria's international airspace but daily updates keep showing more than we thought. Issuance of work permit, resident permit and visa change when you are inside UAE were very easy before but the story is different now to ONLY NIGERIAN passport holders; while other countries are getting theirs done easily. For UAE government to re-open visas to Nigerians, stricter measures which might be unbearable would be metted out to her passport holders.

I must confess that few bad Nigerians have put the rest in crises. This makes the Western world to see Nigerians as criminals even before committing any. How painful and terrible!

If you are still in Nigeria and have the intention of traveling abroad, please try Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, UK and other European countries which are coming up with immigration or study programs. It would take time, patience, resources, money and right information but far better than coming to UAE.

I wish you all the best.
