ifyalways: Nay, you can and should. All profit is not yours to spend . The right term though is owners draw not salary. Net profit is your to spend on whatever you like because it doesn’t affect the running of the business. |

My mulannoire: Thank you @Justwise @ ifyalways.
If i make about 500k monthly (fluctuates)...can i pay 350k as profit into my savings monthly?
I have 2 savings and intend to split the 350k with one part going to my proper savings acc.
Pls bear with me i know my questions are plenty My question to you is this.. is 350k truly your profit and can you support that with evidence? All you are trying to do here is to eat the chicken and the egg. How much do you have in your business account? What is your gross profit? |

blank: In running a business, you need to pay yourself a salary and properly categorize the rest as profit. The profit can be invested, reinvested in the business or spent, up to the owner. But you need to recognize a salary for yourself as part of your operational expenses. It's Entrepreneur 101. Paying yourself a salary in one man business and still put aside profit is cheating yourself. Your net profit is yours and part of it can be reinvested and the remaining goes to personal use eg traveling. How do you determine how much to pay yourself and why would the ECO believe you that you truly worth that amount ? You wouldn’t have such problem if that money is declared as profit. |

eayobami: I have gone back to check my statement and the transaction questioned was a cash transfer and not cash deposit and it was 1,634,600 and not 1,534,600 as stated by the ECO. And my submitted statement didn't end on may also as stated by the ECO in the refusal letter. The fund was for a supply I did for a band to acquire musical instruments for them . my statement of account shows the outflow of what I paid my dealer to supply me the goods and the invoice that I was issued. I also issued a receipt to them for the money I was paid. Both of this invoices was part of my application and also the transfer slip I used for that transfer to my dealer. The money wasn't lodged, I only made 140k profit from that transaction. Prior to that march I was paid 2.3m for an installation I did for a church and I also included the receipt I got for the equipments I bought. That 2.3m wasn't questioned at all.
Please what other ways can one prove source of find apart from receipts and invoices looking at the nature of sound engineering job being informal. Just a phone call , negotiate price, submit list and you get paid.
Please I want to reapply asap.. My fiancé is coming to Nigeria this weekend and we plan going back together for the Christmas and new year holiday. Thanks. Like i said before reapply and point out those mistakes you noticed and explain another transaction in that account that you did not explain before. Most importantly address those issues raised by the ECO in that refusal letter. |

ifyalways: It should be a fixed amount and it does not matter if you label it as salary or not. Do remember to mention in the form (other information) that you pay yourself this amount monthly from the company profits. You can't pay yourself a salary when you run one-man business because all profit is yours. Better to transfer the money to personal account as profit and not salary. |

mulannoire: Thank you very much @Justwise...you are too kind. I still have a few questions pls bear with me. 1. Do i transfer funds from coy acc to my savings anytime i want?
2. My biz is service based and is usually sealed via verbal agreements. What paper evidence do i submit in this case. Do i need to create evidence for every significant deposit in my corporate acc?
3. Do i submit my CAC docs/corporate acc to show ownership of business?
4. Must all significant deposits in my savings be from my corporate acc? 1. Don't just transfer money to your personal account, make sure that you are not transferring your business money to personal account just for the travel because it will reduce your tie to Nigeria which is your business, if little money is left in business account then you have nothing to come back to Nigeria for which is the whole ideal of tie to home country. 2. You have to explain that in the for if there is no paper evidence. 3. Yes 4. Yes. |

ifyalways: I think thats same thing he want to do.
Transfer or pay in a certain amount each month from his profits/company account to personal account. Reapply using funds from personal account as opposed to company account The money has to be his profit and not just transferring money from business account to personal one else he will weaken his tie to Nigeria which is his business |

Lucky4real28: Please folks help me analyze this refusal note, I own the company but don’t pay myself, I stated I will be paying for the trip myself because I thought the company is still me. I submitted company account with 6 months turn over of 36M, balance 1.3M personal dorm account 3 months with turn over of $44,830 balance $220. And a savings account I use to pay bills with a 3 months turn over of 1.1M, balance 11k. My aim was to fund the trip from my company account, travel date is 27th December. Travel history, Russia, SA 3 times, UAE, Kenya, Ghana. Even though I submitted reference letter stating I am a sole signatory to the company account. I was still refused. I am filling a new form stating company will be funding the trip and I will transfer the sum to my savings account with payment reference stating “for UK trip”. I aim to use priority service so I can get a decision earlier. Please advice. Travel date is 27 December. I don’t pay myself salary nor keep savings because I believe this is beneficial to banks, instead I reinvest my profit and tranfer out of my account for personal use whenever I want to. I am married with kids and I also submitted 4 landed docs with combined purchase amount of 32M. Please should I just move about 1.2M to my saving and write a letter on my company letter head stating the money is for my trip to UK. You don’t have enough money to fund this trip and you can’t fund the trip from your company’s account because that is purely for your business. The balance in your personal accounts are not enough to make this trip. |

mulannoire: Hello gurus in the house, i need your help.
I was refused a visa 2 months ago despite travel history to the UK as the officer stated he was not convinced the funds in my accounts were mine to spend ( i submitted 2 savings accs).
I was advised by an agent to run my company account and to pay myself salary each month, while also creating payslips. How accurate is this? Thanks for your time. If you own that business then it makes no sense paying yourself a salary, the profit from that business is completely yours and should be seen as that and not salary. Explain the source of money in your account with paper evidence and avoid using your compay’s account as the funding source of your travel. Fund the trip from your personal account and not the business one. |

eayobami: @ekpotek @justwise
Got my package by courier today. Application was denied.
My fiancé invited me for 11 days as her father insisted that I visit before we get married and relocate that he doesn't believe in gambling.
I studied this thread for almost 1month before I apply.
I have 2 jobs, I submitted payslips from both jobs. I work in a church and I also work as a project manager for a company which I started in September. I also freelance as a sound engineer which is work I'm doing for the church . I do installation of sound equipment, setup for rallies, crusade, parties and occasions and I also purchase equipment for churches and sound group from Alaba. I make enough money from this.
I submitted my statement from February to show a pattern in my account because sometimes my balance is low as I have to supply goods before getting paid. All these I explained in my cover letter defending my statement from zenith and STANBIC. Attached about 40 evidences in receipt, invoices issued and received, statement from my sister showing the money I transfered to her and her husband to help raise 2000 catfish in their fish farm. Chats from me and customers.
Don't know what to do. How soon can I reapply and what do I need to do. The ECO obviously made a mistake as I applied for priority so I can travel in December. I didn't have a cash deposit of the said amount to my account on the said date, and also my statement didn't end on may, it ended in November. Just confused. If these mistakes by the ECO are true then reapply anytime and point out those mistakes in a letter clearly pointing out those mistakes. |

Mancala: Being that I was the "culprit" that suggested giving up the kids for adoption, I feel the need to clarify. First, the suggestion was that if she eventually married a U.S. citizen to regularize her stay, she should consider getting the man she marries to adopt her kids. This means her new spouse will become their "legal father" while she remains their legal/biological mother. The biological father remains just that! She would need to get the consent of their biological father to do this hence my suggestion to have that discussion now rather than later. Why consider doing this? It would help bolster the evidence of a "real marriage" to USCIS and make the AOS interviews much easier. I have seen this happen and believe me, it makes a big difference.
Justwise - why do you think this is such an egregious act? From what we knew at that time, the biological dad had already given up those kids for all practical intents and purposes! Their Mom was making crucial decisions about their future without reference to him. He appeared not to be in the picture. Why not make it official when she has a new spouse and secure the kids future? Dad will forever be their bilogical dad, no one can take that away from him. But in terms of day to day care and welfare, someone else will be responsible. No different from the reality today! My initial comment regarding this still stand, the end game is to get foreign passport in exchange for your two kids, buy-one-get two free(marry their mum and get two kids) only an irresponsible father will do that. |

1. I am a student undergoing my PhD program in the UK. I want to invite my dad and mum to visit me in the UK this December. They have been denied once due to lump sum of money in their account. My dad is a civil servant (works for Osun state government) that earns about 150,000 after tax. Although what they pay into his salary account after all deductions from cooperatives and mortgage is about 50, 000. He has all other sources of income as well, such as money coming from his private sole proprietorship company. He built houses which he rented out as well. He also has a block industry. The issue is, the salary account is really low, and for the other account, all other sources of money go into it, which makes the account irregular. This was the account he used for the last visa application that was refused. Please advice on what to do regarding this. Presently he has about 2million in this account. 2. For my mum, she runs her business. She is a distributor for different food companies . Her business is registered. The issue is, she doesn't really have a separate account for her business. Payments made to her are also in cash. Money made after sales are sent to the company she normally gets her goods from in order to buy more goods. Sometimes if she is not ready to order for more goods, she can make the payment to her account pending the time she is ready as she can't keep money in her shop. She spends from this account as well, she doesn't keep a particular amount on a monthly basis for savings . How do we go about this to increase her chance of getting vusa
3. I am filling the application for them. They will both be funding this trip jointly. What will i fill in the section that talks about, is anybody paying towards your trip? Will i select No for dad and No for mum as well? Both of them will contribute towards the trip
4. Also, my husband is with me and works full-time. We intend to provide feeding for them during their stay, (as the hotel booked is close to our house) but cannot accommodate both of them. Should i mention this in the section of 'will anybody be paying towards your trip
5. For ties back to Nigeria, we intend to include business registration document, landed property documents. I also have a younger brother who is just in 100level. Will he also serve as a tie back home. I mentioned him in the the dependant section.
6. My daddy sponsored my masters program and also the first year of my PhD, I have receipts for these, will this add anything meaningful to their visit visa application
Should i add all of my siblings who are in Nigeria but are married as their dependants as well?
Thanks
Please assist house! I have posted this for a week now. Regarding your daddy's salary and the money that goes into his account after contributions you have to explain this in the form or extra paper, do the same with your mums business situation. 3. Yes if nobody else is paying for the trip select no. 4. That will be an additional answer to question 3, add that you will be providing hotel accommodation closer to the house 5. That is the right thing to do, add all those information 6. Not really |

My cousin, who is a citizen in U.k is ready to send invitation and other docs ,starting she will cater for my accomondation and feeding during my seven days visit, also my company is given me letters plus travel allowance which would be made available after successful visa application.
My challenge now is that my salary for the past six months are not reflecting in my account as i get paid directly by the accountant, due to changing of bank for salary of staff process ,which i got letter from my company to defend.
Also i have my paying slip . im married with a kid,my closing balance is 700k.
Please note that my company is giving me 800k as my travel allowance and my cousin is sponsoring my acnmdtn and feeding while in the u.k.
Please do i have better chance to get my 6 months standard visitor visa? Are you traveling for official duty? Your company can't give you an allowance when you are going on private trip |

Veacon: Thank you.
I think I need to clarify more. He earns £20000 annually which brings his salary to £1660 + monthly (plus comes from overtime) He started working with his present company in May and we were working towards applying this December, but his November salary fell short (£1510) because sick pay was deducted and his overtime pay (£250) wasn't added either.
My question is, following the error on the payslip (omitted overtime pay), which should increase his November earning to £1760, is there a solution to this?
1. Getting the company to reissue a new payslip with the correction.
OR
2. we apply in January,
then get the company to indicate on the letter they will give him, his earnings, and that there was an error in the November payslip, and also write a signed and stamped note on the payslip indicating the error and what the correct amount is supposed to be and how the correction has been reflected in his December Salary payslip.
What do you think? Try that first if it doesn't work then go for the second option |

Thank you for your response.
He's been with the same company for 6 months (May) and counting (still with d company), and has earned more than the required £18600 annual rate, so I'm a bit confused on what you mean by "wait till we meet the requirement". Please help me elaborate further.
Thank you Ok if he has earned that much then he can apply and meet the financial requirement either through salary or through savings or both. If he has £16000 in his account now then he is good to go. A letter from his company will state his annual salary too. |

No, he's not worked for a year, He joined the company in May this year. Please don't be in a rush to apply to avoid refusal, wait until the requirement is met |

Now tell me what reasonable person will refuse to leave a place that’s unfavorable for him...
That should let you know the kind of person you’re dealing with...
As for me & my family we’re enjoying the United States & appreciate the opportunities this country gives to the common man...

During his interview he was able to convince the Visa Officer that he would leave the United Kingdom at the end of his studies.
That same justwise completed his studies in the United Kingdom but refused to return to Nigeria until he regularized his Stay in the United Kingdom.
That same justwise is advising the op to return to Nigeria without regularizing his stay in the United States.
The Big question is why didn’t justwise return to Nigeria immediately after his studies in the United Kingdom?
If you have done that, I would have personally taking you seriously but you choose the easy way out and got your papers but you now expect the op to come back to Nigeria without his Papers.
You’re not serious justwise... right .let me quickly clear up this though i have explained many times before 1. If the lady was on student visa/work visa or her kids were born in US then my view on this issue will be the opposite 2.
