majekdom2: for how long will people keep running to do dishes? Are you planning for your generations to come do dishes abroad too? There is dignity in labour but we should differentiate between progress and underdevelopment. For how long are we going to be consumers of products from the West and we go there tp do menial jobs. It is getting harder by the day to secure visas being a Nigerian. The question I want to ask you is FOR HOW LONG? Where was Dubai in 1980 or Singapore in 1950. How many of them advised their fellow country men to go do dishes in the US. Enough of this poo abeg and btw, doing dishes in Nigeria pays, there are people doing that are content and have developed themselves by doing it. Obviously are you not being realistic' This is my advice to any Nigeria..if you see a legitimate opportunity to leave Nigeria do that without looking back, you can build Nigeria from anywhere, you don't have to live in Nigeria to contribute. I don't encourage people leaving Nigeria with wrong paper and start running from the immigration authority abroad |

Tokyo50: Chinese citizens are the leading when it comes to emigration to Canada. Police clearance is needed by the Canadian government in order to prove that the applicant has no crininal record.
Your friend should ask the services of lawyers in China who do the paperwork for tgousands of Chinese and they will assist him/her to get the police clearance. It is usually given at the ministry of home affairs after they take your fingerprint and check fir criminal record in China.
If your friend can't get the document from the police, he/she should not mention that he/she lived in China in the application. The Canadian govt require it in every country you lived for more than six months. dunk2011: I do have a friend that had been requested to get a police report in China and also in Nigeria. He is currently in school in China and applied for visa at the Canadian embassy, which they requested for the police report . He went to the Chinese police station and they refused to give him one or tell him that they can't produce one for him.any help will be appreciated Really? Even when he lives in China and making the application from there? |

thebosstrevor: pls stop lying asians and whites create businesses and employ their own. Nigerians want to wash toilet abroad. We have plenty of dirty toilet in nigeria, why is there no dignity in labour in washing our own toilet first. You wouldn't make a living washing toilet in Nigeria but you can in the west, Nigerians are not the only people washing toilet abroad, British, American, Eastern EU citizens all do cleaning job. Yes there is no dignity of labour in Nigeria |

majekdom2: bros I respect you but pls tell yourself the truth. You moderate the travel section and you see how some of your people present forged documents both home and abroad. How many Chinese are doing dishes in Nigeria. Immigration is never a bad thing, this is why there is a ministry and department for it in every country. The truth remains many Nigerians are nuisances both home and abroad. I was at the airport the other and was disgusted by every official in that building. Every one of them is looking for a way to collect money from you like that is the job they are being paid for. This greed, pity seeking mentality is what has made many leave the country without no proper plan and purpose for traveling. I am currently outside Nigeria and I am engaging other Africans that are well travelled, there isn’t any good story to tell. Naija hard yes, but have a plan for your life before you start thinking of running away from naija. Doing dishing in Nigeria does not pay but doing the same dishing in the UK,US, Canada pays because they have labour laws that work. Chinese comes to Nigeria to do things that pays just like Nigerians travel abroad to do those jobs that pays better than in Nigeria |

I have never seen them doing any odd jobs in nigeria or competing with locals for a job role Cleaning toilet or working as a security man abroad could be a step up job for many immigrants but the same security man or cleaner is investing in Nigeria and solving family problems in Nigeria. There is dignity in labour, whites, blacks Asians all do cleaning and security jobs. |

Many of them are not immigrant like many of us but labourers employed by the chinese govt.during their short stay in our country, they tend to have understand our market, make cash and move on.
THe other chinese that remains in nigeria become FDI. THey build big businesses that employs hundreds of nigerians.
nigerians abroad are not FDI rather economy immigrant. How many of them do you know? |

thebosstrevor: I have noticed that many Nigerians think they can only make it abroad, even though,we are blessed with a large market, what is stopping nigerians from seeing opportunities in their own country?
I have spoken to many chinese( age 20 to 30) they all seems to have very low education, some of them do not have degrees like us but they are making it big time in nigeria, even a north korea man i met in an exhibition in lagos is doing great here in nigeria.
But nigerians are trooping out of their country like nothing works in nigeria. The same reason those Chinese and Koreans are not staying in their individual countries to make it but decided to move to Nigeria. Did you ask them why they are not making it in their own country? Is China not far better than Nigeria? |

I even try reaching out to your mail so I could help with some information you need. Because I am in Dublin and I am studying in NCI. I just wanted to help you but you obviously don't need one. You already sound like you know it all or you are to big to pm anyone here. Mind you I am not a guy i am a babe Incase. The person who ask you to go contact someone was only trying to help you out. Since you don't need one why not look elsewhere for information please.
Thanks for your cooperation
Thanks, first of all I don't think I want to Pm anybody, I'm here to get a public opinion of naija peeps already in Dublin, Secondly, I don't just want to rush into any school or program because it's available, I need programs on the skill shortage, I think pharmaceuticals, nursing ( health related courses) engineering, IT etc. I was initially considering "pharmaceutical health technology" at Griffith but I was discouraged following the negative remarks about the school and its prospects on getting a job upon completion. I want to take my time since I have till September 2019.. Thanks @segunagagu for the advice on the PTE exam.. Heard about Trinity College Dublin, but I think it beats my budget .. Again, I intend settling in Dublin afterwards, I know it's not rosy over there, but I'm ready to face it, it's not any better here in naija either.. So what stops you from telling him whatever you want to tell him here? What is that you want to tell him in private that can't be said here? |

bayolino: Am not a nairalander person...if you have submitted 6 month bank statement for an application for instance with a balance of 1.5m ...and same day u withdrew 700k twice leaving your balance to be 100k ...that doesn't geopardise your application for being approved.. embassy will only sent your statement in PDF or fax asking d bank to verify d geninunes of the statement and d balance, sometimes reference a particular transactions ..once bank can verify d statement and all the transactions in d pages jives ( inflows and outflows) with what is in the bank data base ...there response will be positive and that the statement was emanated from the bank ....they will not start responding that d balance has depleted by 1.4m....as long as same day balance still maintain same 1.5m before withdraw. To me this is not term as fradulent ...or misrepresentation so if you withdraw money after your Visa is issued what will you term this ?..as long as ur documents is verifiable..the onus is on you not to over stay your Visa bcoz this is damaging our reputation as country and it has adverse effect on other geniue visa application.. just my take! I'm a nairaland person. So based on your own analysis taking away 1.4m out of 1.5 leaving you with 100k is not a crime even when you have told the ECO that you budgeted 1.5m for the trip? So 100k is enough to travel to the UK? Obviously you don't know what fraudulent or misrepresentation means going by your post. If you lied to somebody or committed crime and was not caught at that time that does not mean that what you did is right. The only reason you withdraw the money after submitting the application is because if you do that before submitting then chances are that you will be refused for not meeting the financial requirement. I really wonder why this is difficult for some of you here to understand. |

OmoBendel24: Master, not to waste much time analyzing this sir, I will write here now and tell you authoritatively that I have lost count of the number of times I spent the money in my account while waiting for decision to be made, (it has never affected me since the early 2000's I'm talking of here), I don't know how it works for me and may not work for others, that's the reason I'm just being economical with advising people per this topic area.
On some occassions, I drew the account to somewhere very low after printing bank statement, I mean even before application submission and nothing negative has ever happened to my application or that of my family members. I have even liquidated fixed investments after submission of application to no negative effect.
I'm not saying others should do so on the strength of how it has worked for me anyways, but it works for me personally with; Schengen, UK, Canada, South Africa, Australia application experiences I mean... What you confessed here is fraudulent and misrepresentation practices, if you applied for visa and submitted bank statement cLaiming to have the money for the trip then withdraw the money after submitting you are lying about your condition. It’s only about time you get caught and ban for years |

OmoBendel24: No negative impact if you are not having reason to reapply soon. But then,I have not said you should empty your account, you can though. Issue is if you do, and this your application is refused for instance on minor grounds, your current bank statement won’t be healthy enough for immediate reapplication, that’s the only worry. The ECO can’t discover jack any more than the last transaction on your submitted bank statement for this application, you have gone past that level, even if you want to reapply, if you have sound reason for the withdrawals you will do now you won’t have issues sef!
Like I said earlier, it is in order to keep your account running normal (withdrawal and deposit) after submitting an application, it’s even healthier that way for future applications sef.... That is misleading and not helpful. You can't withdraw money budgeted for the trip and still believe that nothing will happen. If the money is withdrawn then you don't qualify for visa no matter the reason for withdrawing that money. |

Should I write in official Coy letterhead to ECO stating that 2.55m from the Coy 2018 profit will be used for family vacation. 2. Check the following proposed expenses and see if it's prudent for a family of 6 ( husband, wife and 4 kids) Return tickets 2943 pounds Accomodation for 6 nights 780 pounds Tourism 300 pounds Feeding 600 pounds Transport 300 pounds Miscellaneous 600 pounds Total 5502 pounds that's about 2.56m.
Is this much for a family of 6? 1. Yes you can do that 2. Leave out Miscellaneous to reduce your budget so as to have a healthy balance after expenditure. You still need to present your salary account and payslips(6months each) and that of your wife. |

bencowhite: Dear Justwise
This is a tough call.
We spent so much on our application and going to apply again? Hmmm
Anyway, now that we appealed and we are not sure of when they will respond, can we go ahead and apply for a visiting Visa as have been doing before now?
The one we are appealing is settlement Visa. My daughter and I have been visiting before we made our application for settlement because my husband got his ILR. We had thought that we wont have any issues applying to join him but unfortunately we were denied. We really would like to visit him that is why i need your advise on what to do next since we dont have the finance for now to reapply for settlement
Will the on going appeal affect our application for visit? Yes its costly and painful to spend such amount twice even if you have the money, i closed family member went through the same process recently and reapplied with priority service and it came out in a month. You can apply for visiting visa since you have a good immigration record and its important that you explain your situation in a letter to the ECO. That you have no intention to abuse the privilege if given the visa to visit your husband with your kid while you wait for the outcome of the appeal. |

Shadyz: Good morng evryone @justwise and every other person who made a contribution..God bless u all..however,i wud like to revisit my issue again and seek clarifications before reapplying this week,i wish had found this thread before making the silly mistake of involving an agent to assist with my Visa application, which at the long run,he ruined my chances becos he cud not ask basic questions and went ahead to do what he felt was right.. First and foremost,d issue the eco raised was for no travelling itinerary, like places I'd like to visit, and activities I'd like to do during my 7days trip..which i wud input while reapplying,my first question is this do i have pay for a tour package or just state the places I'd like to visit daily ? Also, there was a question asked for salary after tax, however the agent divided my annual gross pay which is #3,710,040.00 by 12 and came up with #309,170.00.However,that was a wrong input because my bank pays monthly salary every 12th #79,769.30 and 24th #47,968.45, which makes it a total of #127,738.05 monthly which is paid into my staff current a/c,however we get paid quarterly allowance at the end of every quarter(paid into staff savings account)and upfront(paid into staff current a/c),which is paid at the beginning of every quarter, which if added amounts to about 402k,asides leave allowance and 13th month salary...my question here is how do i explain that i made a mistake in my salary input as my salary is about #262k after summing up my monthly salary+upfront+quarterly(after tax) I am planning to attach my payslip(for six months) for my net pay and gross pay..which was not included previously Also,as regards the inconsistent funds issue raised by the eco which seems like a money packing technique, most of the funds transferred to my staff current a/c where from my staff savings a/c....which where the two statement of a/c i presented, and my quarterly and upfront payment from the bank as well, however there was a transfer of 800k to my a/c from a junior colleagues frnd, who sold his car,as such amount wud be questioned if it enters his(my junior colleagues) a/c,so he asked his frnd to transfer to me,since d buyer wanted an a/c from my bank(since d buyer uses d same bank) and i transferred d money to the acct they wanted to send it too immediately, infact it was d same day..,since i am permitted to transfer high amounts outside my a/c to another banks a/c and d money left my acct sameday and this was in may..asides funds paid in by my some of my colleagues who patronise me for business,i sell hair and perfumes,as side hustle, but the payments where less than 50k and not up to 3 or 4times,other few transfers i did were low amounts from my diamond acct(from me to me) but the agent stated in my application that i had no other savings(does this mean i have no other a/c elsewhere ) and i depend strictly on my salary because he wanted me to keep my application straight,my question here is do i go against what was inputted in my application?or explain that i do side business, although not registered, but d funds transferred to my a/c where more of cash deposit lodgement and few transfers which d highest amount was about 45k or even less.I had a closing balance of #1million100k plus in my current ac and about 200k plus in my staff savings a/c as at when i printed my statement,Do i use the same statement of a/c or print a fresh one ? Do i also need to do a fresh hotel reservation and ticket booking,as my date of visit was lastweek,or i just use the same details to reapply, since it is not up to 28days that i got refused? Also,i feel the eco didnt judge me fairlly to have said he doesnt think i have enuf ties,as i have been working with the bank since since 2015 Documents i presented:introduction letter from HR(which showed my date of employment 2015),tax clearance, staff ID card, offer letter(from the old bank,as the name as currently changed of recent),offer letter from the new bank(pls note that this is still d same employer,we just transitioned to the new bank of recent),letter of admission into d banks training sch, confirmation letter, statement of of both my staff savings and current a/c,travel history(dubai) Also,he stated that i wud be spending 1650 pounds for my trip and i spend 200 pounds monthly, although no issue was raised as regards this by the eco, should i still cut down cost??or stick to this same amount?? Please revisit my issue and advise me accordingly..i wud be attaching d refusal note again..sorry for the long writeup.. I really don't understand what your agent did to your application and you need to correct those inconsistencies and present your situation as its. Present your salary account with payslips, explain any amount in that account that is not your salary or bonus. Make fresh hotel booking and list places you want to visit in the UK, if you can pay for tour package fine but if you can't then add the cost to your budget. In your budget avoid spending more than 2months of your salary and state clearly how you want to spend your budget in the UK. |
