TochiPhotos: Smh. So this is what you think? now it all makes sense to me. To be honest I really expected much better from you, you are way better than this, or maybe I gave you too much credit.
I accepted your verdict regarding my promoting my website in good faith, I did not contest your decision, and I only simply said, I will not continue my thread because it will be impractical to do so right now. My whole life revolves around this project right now and you really can not fault me for talking about it once in a while. You don't really expect me not to share important details about my life just because I might have to reference my website.
You are intentionally been malicious and spinning this thing, so I'm going to explain this whole situation to my readers once again. I owe it to them.
You said I created this thread as a backdoor to promote my website. This is false and a simple whois domain lookup would have set you straight. Or maybe you knew but insisted on been spiteful.
I started my thread on the 17 of Nov 2017, and back then I honestly did not know I will end up starting the current project I'm working on. My intentions for the World Cup; were to try and get Media accreditation as a photographer and cover the matches, that has always been my dream but I was denied accreditation because FIFA only gives out accreditation to a few select and known media houses. My fall back plan was to work with the Super Eagles Media team and help them in any way I can and I already talked out to Mr Toyin ibitoye the super eagles media office and he said he will do something. This current project was started because of demand and inquiries by people. The domain of my website for the project was registered on the 10 of January and I did not start building the site till after you closed my first thread. You said I created 2 threads before this one. This is a big lie Justwise, My last post before starting this thread was on 18 Nov 2015. The threads you are talking about were created this January after you hid a post I made. Then I created a dedicated thread in the travel-ads section but you closed it. SMH.
The day my thread was moved to the frontage, was the first day I posted the website url on nairaland. The website wasn't even ready that day but I hastily posted it because I wanted to take advantage of the exposure.
Yes Justwise, I will admit, I tried to use the exposure of this platform to promote my website and I cannot deny that. Do you really blame me. I usually see many links on threads and I thought it was normal till you started hiding any of my posts. What did I do after you hid my posts? I did not argue or fight you, I know ignorance of the law is not an excuse so I reached out to you, apologized and wanted to set things straight. I simply asked for the best practice about posting such things so I can make amends but you did not reply.
I know it's not personal and I'm not angry, neither do I blame you for doing your job. When you hid my posts, I knew I must have broken one rule or another and I asked to be set straight but you ignored that and instead preferred to hide my posts.
People that know me personally, know I don't like to fight or quarrel, I do not like confrontations and I believe in having good relationships and peaceful coexistence.
I don't blame you for doing your job, I'm certainly not angry. Rules are rules, but I just feel you could have handle this situation way better. It's all good tho.
To all my readers, I'm really sorry about this whole situation. To say the truth, my website those not really need the exposure from nairaland anymore. My project only has room for 100 people and after just a few tweets last week, 36 places have been taking so far. And I haven't even started to promote it. So it was not a do or die matter because I know with or without nairaland, the project will thrive.
I apologize once again, like I said before I can't write my thread without talking about my project every now and then because my life right now is basically, attend lectures, come back and work on it. And all the places I have been to, all the people I have met and all the photo shoots I did these past few days had to also do with this project. So you see, it will be impractical for me to continue.
I'm afraid but this is the end for now. Yea i know that. |

ihesiuloa: So this thread is over innit? well I joined nairaland 2008 or thereabouts, and I'm in my 40's so I'm pretty sure I ain't a kid compared to many when we begin to do some comparism in nairaland, I have known justwise here as far back as 2008 in travel section even though u wasn't sure if he was a moderator then, like I earlier mentioned in this thread I said "justwise has a job to execute " but when I made that statement I didn't mean In totality that there shouldn't be considerations when interesting threads like that of tochiphoto or any other person is read here! all I have to say is this tochiphoto please come back and finish your thread, don't chicken away because of rules that are made which isn't just made for you but for all to keep to.. justwise please limit your words that could sound provocative to other not just the person being referred to, no one wants to here such besides you are a moderator representing nairaland so please caution your choice of words, thanks. I get your point but let me say this without biting my tongue.. I'm not here to be insulted by random nairalanders just because they disagreed with my decision. I don't do the diplomatic thing when dealing with people who deliberately refused to be reasonable. I don't expect people to support my decisions or like my posts but at the same time i will not take insult from anybody. Tochiphoto was not banned or asked to stop writing his dairy, he decided to stop because he was not allowed to advertise his business. Starting a diary is not an exchange for free ad, tochiphoto is not new here because he has ran a successful thread that ran to 30 pages 3yrs ago here and there was no problem. This thread was created as a backdoor for world cup package ad, i say this because before this thread he started two other threads advertising world cup packages as well, when that was removed he started this thread and within days he started the same world package thing with a new website. |

Satansadvocate: To me this is unfair and so uncalled for pulling the guy update down. What of those bloggers that post topics on nairaland and put up their website links as source to their story, when did they pay for ad?
Just wise you may pull this down but this guy got nothing to lose. He doesnt come here to beg anybody to give him money or tell us to check out the site. He just chipped in the site as part of his story. So you want us to believe the whole dairy without a bit of some evidence bah? So lets say 2mrw you develop your own forum and want to talk about your experience and story in the blogging business and not mention nairaland or a weblink to prove you were once affliated to nairaland. You let somethings slide my brother
What of the weblinks of org and the rest that crop up everywhere here on nairaland esp here in the travel section, when did they put up ad last?. As far as i know the guy is not breaking any rule. He HAS TO CITE HIS WEBSITE AS PROFE AND SOURCE LIKE ALL THIS BLOOGERS DO. Nothing wrong with that to me at all.
Just wise you might like to rethink your decision. Dont think you are perfect, affable and dont make mistakes.
This is the first time i will boldly say you have wronged this guy and you deserve to apologise and make up to him. You can state the rule he broke here lets all see it and debate over it. If matter pass matter we take it to seun
this guy has been long on this site. His people of Lagos street photography experience was all done on this site. He did not open his account to start advertising about the world cup package.
Just wise just use your church mind reason this thing small first. You wrote all this without knowing jack about this case, this is very common with you. Give yourself a break bro. |

Brightniceguy: Hello Nairalanders please i need your helps as i plan traveling abroad for a greener pasture. Just recently my agent called me was asking/adversing if he should get me a London visa (which was not what i asked him to get me from the start, I asked him to help me get a schegen visa) So i told him i needed time to discuss it with my siblings and parents though my parents don't know much about overseas and after the whole discussions, My family with advises from other family friends, I was asked to refuse the london visa which i called the agent and still insisted on the schegen visa and his words was that NA ME NO and the reason he said that was because he tried convincing me to take the london visa saying they are lot opportunities for a young boy like me over there unless i plan doing drugs or 419 in other side of europe.
NOTE that i don't plan doing such, I am just a young boy of 22/23 years looking for means i can help my parents and sibling and also start a good life for my self .I plan seeking asylum in Finland and by God's grace i can start a living over there since i heard they are jobs over there and they still listen to asylum stories compared to other EU countries.
Please i need advice from good people in the house that has experience of life over there as a black immigrant and my chances of getting to work.
Please Admin help move to FP as i really need help and counsellings. 1. Supermods don't move questionable thread to FP. 2. If you genuinely wants to help your parents then look for scholarship to any European country and migrate legitimately 3. Your agent will not be able to get you a genuine visa to 'London' or any European because you don't qualify for one. This is the wrong place to seek advice on how to circumvent immigration rules. |

The school then handles the paperwork , lawyers also help. However these days, please do your research well because so many immigration laws are changing under this government. Please can you explain what you meant by that? What paper work will the school handle when converting from B1/B2 to F1? |

nellaluv: Remove any link or advert. It doesn't just happen to you it happens to anyone that posts link. You are even lucky you didn"t get a ban. Please continue with your diary it's quite an interesting read. It was an advert not just some blog but a business website specifically for world cup, this was not the idea behind this thread when he started it. It was his decision to stop writing his diary because he wants to advertise his business at the same time, if he wants to do that then he can contact the admin and discus how to advertise in nairaland. I did not ban him for continuously dropping that link because i want him to continue his diary but he refused. There are other people here currently running their diary without getting their knickers in a twist |

To know the right amount to have.. you need to do a budget breakdown of your trip that will give you an idea. |

sashaa: Hello Everyone and greetings. I've gone through a lot of pages on the thread and i must commend all the gurus in the house. You guys are too much.
I'll like to take a few days vacation to the U.K. and will like to know if my chances are good and how to go about it.
I'm Single, working in a bank(this is my 5th year on the job ) Earning 372k monthly, was promoted last year(salary structure is 150k monthly, 535k every quater and 518k rent allowance paid only in january)
No travel history, will be travel alone and staying at a hotel.
Balance in my savings account now is about 280k but will receive 535k payment in april.
So I'm thinking of applying in april. My concern now is if the balance of 815k(280+535) is enough to apply?
And if i can work my travel expenses around it(spending 10days or less).
Also if the personal loan of about 800k i took last july will raise eyebrows.used it for some investment. The repayment is being debited monthly from my salary account, about 72k. Some months it throws my account into debit for a few hours. That is when the loan is taken at 12mjdnight and salary is paid around 7am same day.
Also, In addition to my 815k I'll have by april I'll be attaching my treasury bill certificates(1million and 3.8million) as part of the documents I'll submit.
@justwise please assist. Your salary level is good but i'm not sure about the cash available for the trip. So its the new salary status stated in your employment letter? Will you receive the 535k payment before your application? |

MamaGiovanni: Good evening Justwise,
Pls if a relative (an uncle) is providing accommodation for me for a few days (3 days before my exam), is it necessary to include his bank statement?
He's just providing accommodation while I have more than enough for feeding and living expenses. Is it enough to include just invitation letter, mortgage bills and utility bills? i'm not sure about bank statement but tenancy agreement or mortgage papers and evidence of his status in the UK will be needed. |

Toks2008: Yeah it is true and I'm writing from experience.
When I applied for my U.K visa I was asked to state if I had been denied visa to any country and also state the reasons...
I wrote U.S and wrote that I was denied because their visa application is total gambling as they seldom verify or even asked for documents but only based their decision on generic questions and answers.
I know U.K shares intelligence with United states which is why I purposely wrote that. I'm sorry but what you wrote here did not answer the question i asked, you just went on writing about something completely different. |

topeolu1: Good morning Justwise &co. I wish to provide feedback that my application with my family was unsuccessful. The ECO based his conclusion on the fact that I had a low balance of N300 at some point and some credits into my account months back which he wasn't comfortable with. Surprisingly, he acknowledged my cover letter and other financial instruments which proofed more than sufficient, but failed to take it to account. He only emphasized on my salary account whereas I have worked at a senior level for over 8years with justifiable savings in other accounts submitted and we'll explained in my cover letter. That said I think I should proceed to an alternative destination for our Easter vacation. That was what I did when we were refused for US last year. Or do you think reapplying would be the right thing to do. I don't want anything that creates impression of desperation...... That is refreshing to read. Try another country for your holiday then apply to the UK anytime you want in future. |

I'm about processing a UK visiting visa for my mom who is retired. She has two of her cousins residing over there who can send her a letter of invitation.
Considering the fact that she is retired, the major inflow to her account is just her pension so I have decided to sponsor her. Do you feel this can damage her chances?
And please take me thru the process of the visa application.
Thanks No it will not as long as you can afford to sponsor the trip comfortably with the help of her cousins |

TochiPhotos: So justwise hid my last post again, Well this is it. Let me focus on the project since I'm not allowed to mention it in my diary.
Like I said in my last post (hidden by justwise). Right now, my life and daily activities revolves around my current World Cup Project and it will be impossible for me to write my diary without mentioning it once in a while. It's such a shame this diary had to end this way.
I tried to reach out to him and on more than two occasions, I asked justwise what the best practice for talking about stuff like that is and Justwise refused to answer or set me straight.
It's so unfair that he will rather hide a lengthy post I made in my diary, just because a part of it talked about a shoot I did for my project and included my website link.
I no get strength to fight anybody. Nairaland is his turf and here, he is king. So to avoid issues I'm taking time off.
Such a shame it had to end like this.
Thank you Justwise. Thank you too. Come back when you want to write travel diary. Open a thread in sports section if you want to talk about World Cup project . |
