Please guys I need you help, not sure if this has been answered before.

I need to apply for UK visit visa for 6months for my daughter and I.

Do I have to feel out a different application for my daughter who is 1yr old or she will be included with my applicationhuh

Note I have supporting documents for myself though.
1. Bank Statement
2. Proof of work
3. proof of change of name
4. passport
5. Invite letter
6. Proof of sponsor status
7. Proof of sponsor
I don't think that is allowed anymore, make a separate application for your baby.

Add payslips to that list

I made a mistake on my sons surname on the UK visa application and I just realized after I have printed it out. How do I amend this before going for my appointment?
CC: justwise
Correct the mistake on that printout, carefully cross-out the mistake and write the correct name beside it, a double line on the wrong name is enough then write the correct.

Dear Justwise, Ekpotek, Brightingsus and other gurus in the house,
My husband and I are in the U.K. On tier 2 visa. Our child is still in Nigeria because we didn't apply with him due to some circumstances then. My question is, can we apply with him to join us now. I'll definitely go home to attend the biometric with him. We want to apply for him under Tier 2 dependent- child. Thank you
Sure you can

Good evening to all in the house,

To the gurus please assist me with some info. My wife's application form is being filled and we hope to submit it on Monday, now there is this part about dependent children that is giving me concern. We have 3 kids but my wife is a house wife and 2 of the kids are in the UK at the moment. My question is should we fill in the kids names as dependents?

Secondly how relevant is the submission of flight reservations along with other documents?

Thirdly, as the husband and sponsor what documents should be submitted besides my bank statement, should I include my letter of appointment, pay slips and stuff?

I await your kind responses.

Thanks
1. Are your kids studying in the UK? If yes..who pays their fees and maintenance?

2. Flight reservation is not relevant

3. Yes you need to submit letter of appointment and payslips, you also need to submit family pictures and birth certificate of your kids

Ok . I can get them but does it make sense that my uncle/cousin is inviting me and giving me his data page and letter but the dad is the one footing the bill? bills like the dad's bank statement and others. should i submit my bank statement along with the dad's own or just mine?

thanks
Its her daddy and you are visiting them so it shouldn't really be an issue.

Yes you have to submit your bank statement and your source of income because those are evidence of your tie to Nigeria. No matter who is footing the bills its important that you prove that you have something strong in Nigeria that you will come back to.

God is good ooo and thanks @justwise for this forum and to the wonderful people of this house. Our Visa has been issued. Still waiting for 2 for my daughter's but I believe it will be issued also. Though I had submitted my application b4 I got this thread, I was able to use lots of advices. Like 3 weeks or so ago, I had to tell hubby to get his co tenant to write a letter that he's aware of our relocation and is ok with it and that the accommodation will not be overcrowded.

Timeline
Biometrics 31st August 2017
Parcel to Sheffield delivered 8th Sept 2017
Sheffield mail 10th Sept 2017
Tls mail for decision and pick up 22nd November 2017(59th day)
Visa actually issued 17th November 2017 but valid from 24th November to 24th December 2017

The 2 that I didn't receive email are for my daughters. received mine and the smallest girl. Meanwhile they have returned documents to my hubby so what will they be using if they havnt decided on theirs? Just baffled.Really sorry for my rants, just emotional.

Thanks
You will finally hear from them unfortunately not at the same time for all 4 applications, i got no idea why they separate it the way they do but this is common.

Hi everyone, kudos to the likes of justwise, Lexus, and other gurus in the house. I've been following this thread for while, and I appreciate ur inputs in the success stories so far.
I need your brotherly advice, pls . I traveled to the UK in 2012, on a visiting visa with help of an agent. I had issue at the port of entry cos the lady that invited me was called and she didn't pick up. After the long hour delay, the eco asked if I had anyone to put up with in the UK, as a novice I said no. I called the agent in Nigeria and he arranged a lawyer, I spoke with her and I was taken to an hostel... The lawyer told me, if things get out of hand I should claim asylum to buy time since I wasn't allowed to go out, ehich i later did. Some Nigerians in the hostel gave me a clue on how to go about the asylum... A month after I was given an accommodation. I Couldn't work but I worked as a volunteer in an org. I ve a partner whom I met there and all is well. My asylum was refused and asked to leave UK. My partner was pregnant that moment and all efforts to stop my removal was futile. Well, I was removed in 2014 and after the fight for my stay we lost the 6months old pregnancy too. While on the plane, one of them (HO)told me I shouldn't feel bad cos if she can come home and marry me I will be back before I know it.... We are married now planning to process the application. Cos in the letter they gave me the HO stated that if I apply as a partner or as a father of a British child banned is not applicable to me. My lawyer said the same, that i should have apply all this while. what are the chanceshuh Pls advice
I forgot to add that we meet all the requirements too, British, finance and accommodation.
The good thing is that your wife came to Nigeria to get married to you, please focus on meeting every single requirements and state clearly what happened with your immigration history.

Nobody here can tell you truthfully what your chances are, like i said just focus on getting it right and hopefully your application will be a positive one

@justwiswe, @Lexus, @ house, please is it possible that tlscontact will only update decision for 2 instead of 4. We were 4 that applied together but i only got mail from Tlscontact for 2 meanwhile they told us that we ll get everything together when we did biometrics.

Should I send them a complaint mail or just be calm?

Really worried.
Sorry for late reply, what you are experiencing is normal with Tlscontact, the 4 applications are not always processed the same time, in many cases they are processed individually at different time.

You don't need to panic really as this happens even in visiting visa application

What is the cost to you personally of your trip in GBP?

The total amount you have for this trip.

Please advise on these 2 questions. They look similar and confusing. Must it be thesame amount awarded to them?

Cc justwise
How long are you staying in the UK? £150 for accommodation looks unrealistic if you are staying longer than 3days.

Is that 45 naira or 45000?

You need to state your figures and currency clearly.

If you are footing the whole bill, then it will be the same amount. If you will be supoorted by anyone else, then the amount will not be the same. For example let assume you are planning to spend £1000 and you also have someone supporting the trip say contributing £200. Then the total cost of the trip is cost to you personally which is £1000 plus £200 equal to £12000.
I see it differently, you can't budget to 1200 for a foreign trip and travel with 1200, if something goes wrong then you become a burden to the govt. It always good to have more than budgeted to fall back on when things goes wrong.

Yes they are sending the documents. I have his British passport data page and a letter he sent. The Dad also sent his Naira bank statements to me. Is it ok if I ask for your number?

I made a decision years ago not to get my number involved with nairaland and visa issues and that hasn't changed.

If they will be accommodating your then proof of accommodation will be needed

Thanks fof the response Justwise, Can we re apply with just one bank statement and not 2 bank statements used in the refused application. Reason is I just scanned through her gtb statement where there were some deposits/withdrawals from local contributions...not sure how that can be explained and also some random financial gifts

Does she need a new set of docs, her bank statement and my bank statements as the sponsor?

- Does she need a new invitation letter from me as we stated in her application she'll depart Nigeria Nov 18. I actually invited her over to celebrate her 65th Birthday with my family nextweek.
You don't have to drop the other bank statement, you just have to explain those deposit and withdrawals if they are just small amounts.

If those bank statements are older than one month then there is nothing wrong with printing a new one to submit.

Yes you need to send her an IV which will explain the reason(s) for inviting her
