Hi everyone. I will be visiting Calgary for a week-long conference (in June) and I will be very happy to meet some helpful people.
I have lived in Denmark for over two years (currently living there on post-masters residence permit), I have also visited the UK and the US (still have a valid visa) in the past.

As I am interested in settling in Canada because I have a greater chance of finding a job in my field (Geology) or related, I will need some help on possible ways of making this possible (legally). I am aware of the federal skilled immigration program and I am working on it; will be sitting for IELTS and I have already had my Degrees (Bachelor and Masters) accessed by WES. However, I want to consider other options (like Marriage wink). I have a valid 2 years Canadian TRV that expires next year.

Thank you in advance!
Post this in Romance section then

A church can help you apply for a work permit. The procedures I do not know though. Perhaps, those who came in on visiting and got their church to help them change their status can tell the process.
You know as much as i do that this is all shady, there is no depart in church that deals with immigration.

Perhaps you skipped where I wrote that the church helped him get his work permit. If he wasn't a church member that I know too well, I might also doubt the story. Anyways, latest good news is that he got an appointment for landing at downtown for the 26th of this month with his family so they don't have to drive to a border town for that.
Bro church is not immigration office and i still don't understand the whole story. How did he managed to convert visiting visa to work permit in Canada?

Greetings House, will 550k be too small to cover total cost of a trip to the UK for 8 nights?
Ticket - 155k (turkish airline)
Hotel. -. 150k
Transport / feeding / little shopping - 245k
That is more than 3x your monthly salary, it could be a problem

Not true boss. My friend with his HND (part time) who came visiting and got the church help him apply for a work permit got a job that pays $88kCAD with Telus in 2014. Some other people who came in with FSW got great jobs without studying in Canada. Life works based on our beliefs (my opinion of life).
GboyegaD:
His needing help from the church was because he came in with a visiting visa and wanted to stay back. As we speak, he has been called to apply for Express Entry and his passport has been requested.
..with all due respect I find it difficult to believe this. How did he convert visiting visa to work permit legally?

@Justwise you so wrong, which we are all learning new things and information everyday MrTunde is 11million% right the financial requirement amount doesn't change as far the child is born to person that is settled. Eg My wife just had our baby girl when we applied for my spouse visa, the child was never taken into account because I'm not coming to UK with the child and because the child is a British Citizen by birth coz of my wife's status(ILR) at that time.
blza:
Justwise i hate to disagree with you this time embarassed cos you are such a nice and helpful guy.
With the financial requirements children who are British citizens are exempted from the requirement .
Taking out children born of parent who is British citizen here........so:
Basically this means, if a child is born in the UK to a parent who is settled in the UK at the time of birth , that child becomes a BC at birth ... So is exempted
If a child is born in the UK to a parent who is not of settled status, that child can be registered as a British Citizen when either parent attains a settled status...... So once the child is registered as a BC , they are exempted .
So if the sponsor has a child who is either registered as a BC after a parent became settled or BC at birth cos the parent already attained a settled status at the time of birth, that child(ren) will be exempted.
As per the OPs question and as tunderule stated correctly if the OP's child is a BC at the time of application , the threshold to meet will be 18600 if they are going down the employment route. Unless there are non British child(ren) being included on the application.
Hope this helps
tunderule2016:
Listen dude..... my point of british citizenship... means that is for the kid not the settlement . The husband is the only one that needs to apply for the visa now since the unborn child will be in UK.... I am not missing any point... i am only giving you insight and more also...giving her steps to go about it ...
DUDE .... i am 100% right... but Good luck to your beliefs .... But you cant tell me what i know from what i dont know ...
HUSBAND.... SETTLEMENT VISA...
CHILD..... NO NEED FOR VISA AT THE MOMENT....
Good luck
You are all right, have read where it clearly stated as you all argued above.

So I was wrong

Well.... I did my researches before i posted that.... and i can tell you i was in the situation once.... if the child was in nigeria... it is a different case entirely .. but the baby is in uk.... More also, It is about her husband now not the baby ... so it is entirely true she needs to show 18600...

There is no same day application in Nigeria...but there is priority which means it will be about 2 weeks or less.
As for your other question, As the child is already in UK, it doesn't change the financial requirement regardless of nationality. No, still £18,600, as the child doesn't need a visa. .... Hope that helps!!!
That is not entirely true, the financial requirement changes when a child is involved. The financial requirement is for family maintenance.

Hello, I am in Barbados right now, I am a student here in Barbados and will like to travel back to Nigeria soon. Here is the issue, I have less than six months validity on my passport and no other country's visa.

Honestly I want to travel back to Nigeria soon. What do you think I should do here? Please note that I cannot apply for any visa now except I get a new passport. The closest Nigerian Embassy is in Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica. I would be glad to get your different ideas and opinion on what i should do. I am thinking of booking a flight to Nigeria but I am scared the six months validity rule will affect me. Let me see your views and let me knw if you need additional information. God bless you as you reply.
Book your ticket and travel to Nigeria. Even if you have one hour left on that passport you can still travel with no issue

I think i need to say this as i'm experiencing being banned almost all the time or some of my comments removed. It seems Justwise is always suspicious of my comments after the last incidence, to the extent that i'm no longer free to write the way i want, i have to censor and censor so that my comments dont get raise suspicion and consequently removed or i get banned. I'm not trying to blow any trumpet, we still have people here who are knowledgeable but there could be a need to check the replies we give people so people dont get misled, its one of the major reasons i stayed otherwise. It can be very embarrasing when you are trying to be of help and someone chooses to frustrate your effort

When people get banned by ant-spambot they report it and it gets removed but all you do is to make false allegations and call for pity party

Justwise,Portmonths and others please your advice is needed.

I have just gotten an invitation to attend a wedding of my aunt's daughter in the USA ,I am being invited by my aunt with my families including my 7month old baby. So I need an advise on the papers to present and possible or likely questions to asked me.the wedding will hold by July . Please when is the best time to book an appointment for the interview ..thanks
US embassy doesn't deal with papers, just complete the application form and attend an interview, if they need any paper evidence you will be asked to bring that later.

Information on your application form and interview questions are the key.

Good luck

Hi Justwise, Lexusg

Please I really need your advice.
I'm on spouse visa. I wanna invite my mum for a few weeks.
My hubby has a British passport but he isn't saving anything in this account.
I've been saving in my account. I was told I could invite my mum using my payslips, bank statement, passport bio data page, visa page, my husbands British passport bio data and an invitation letter.

Please is that possible?
Thanks...
waiting for your response.
Add tenancy agreement and utility bills to that list.

Yes you can invite her as long as you can afford it

Thanks for the reply sir. I am about to pay for the visa fee but there is no priority option just standard, student, premium lounge and primetime. Is the primetime the same as priority? Or do I pay for Priority separately on tls site?
I really can not give you a definite answer on that as i never used or come across them before, google them or somebody here with an answer will help.
