akeenade: 1. Hello house, kindly advice if the priority process of 150 pounds is inclusive of visa fee? why is it in pounds as against the standard 128 dollars for regular processing?
2. If applying as a group, do I need to make copies for all members of the group or 1 single set of documentation is sufficient?
3. Is there really a timeframe to wait before reapplying? we were refused based on wrong visa selection. 1. No, not included. 2. Every single applicant has to present his/her application and pay all the fees involved individually 3. No timeframe |

Olu34: Hi there, thanks for the good work. I am applying for a visit visa to the UK in May, 2016. I am working and would submit all documents in question including my financial status .My uncle will be the principal sponsor of my trip. He will as well provide me with all the relevant documentation of his for submission. The problem does lies in the host, our sister in the UK. She has stated in her invitation letter confirming my visit and the accommodation she had put in place for me. Does she needs to attach her financial records? She will be sponsoring only my accommodation and in this light, has attached her tenancy agreement. Does she still needs to send her bank statement though my uncle is catering for for my maintenance? Hope to hear from you soon. What is your salary range? |

dday101: You have to pay £140 for appeal and if the refusal decision is overturned by the ECM(Entry Clearance Manager)before it gets to court then the £140 will be refunded my the tribunal. 2. Appeal process takes 1month to 8months. My best friend own took 6weeks and the ECM overturned the decision and he's spousal visa was issued in 2weeks after he submitted his passport. ..and if the refusal wasn't overturned and it goes to court? |

iamifyrose: Good morning All,Am new here but I have been reading all the success of this forum and what pple has to go thru in cost of visa.every1 is indeed doing a great job!
I Have my own story aswell LOL,And pls I will need help urgently cox am about submitting mine application this month but am a bit scared.I met my hubby on dating site three years ago, I have been refused a visiting visa twice in 2014 the first refusal was cox I did not include any evidence of communication with my friend and we were actually both naïve abt including any evidences which we corrected in the second application we included all our web chats, phone calls, whatsapp, how we met on the dating site, money sent to me etc.But also refused the ECO actually stated in the second refusal that from all the evidences he can see that me and my friend are more than friends but he has to be stfied witj my own economic circumstance,my hubby wanted us to go for review or another application than cox he really wanted us to met after almost 2years of constant communication which we fell so much inlove during this time . I discouraged him cox I have important things to do and also I did not see the chance of getting it. we were very disappointed and to me it never really bother me cox we have never met one on one and I knew it was the reason for the refusal and cases of scam marriage and all that. So we agreed to travel to Dubai last year june to met,And I can say it was a divine meting, God truly bless us even when I miss my flight that very day cox of nigerian immigration and their issue with virgin passport my hubby was so scared thinking I changed my mind at the last minute.LOL he was calling my family member to know the situation, before than my family already know about our relationship and he keep in touch too with them. He proposed to his African queen in dubai that's what he usually call me.And this starting rolling in from there.we planed for the marriage after we left dubai and he came down to nigeria for the first time in DEC to celebrate the new year with us And to God be the Glory we had our traditional and registry marriage in Jan this year.he was only accompany by his best friend his family members could not really make it,And one of the sisters Honestly admitted that she can't come cox she is not sure of the security in nigeria.Lol. Thank you all for taking your time to read,But my Big question IS... Is been three months the wedding took place, and we spent 5days together only after the wedding from the 2weeks he spent here in nigeria. cox he as to go back to work in London, are my chances of getting the settlement visa.? He want to summit all supporting in person to sheffield using priority including the English test and TB is that possible pls? And is it a Must to use a lawyer, cox we have sent lot of money for the wedding and he is thinking of taking a loan before the application is submitted but he earn more than the 18,000 that is required. God Bless You All for Reply..waiting... Yes you can send him all your documents then he will submit everything together but you have to go for biometric first in Nigeria before sending those documents to him. You don't need a lawyer or agent for this. |

Liloupazzo: Hello @justwise, finally the review decision has been maintained unfortunately. Thanks a lot for everything. Now I will apply for courses taught in english in France.
I have one question , how much time schools take usually to refund the deposit. I have written a refund request and send it , really need that money for my registration in France. Thank you! Really sorry to hear that, Many schools in the UK drags their legs when it comes to fees refund especially private colleges. There is no time scale for this as different schools treat it differently. Go ahead and make refund request with the refusal letter as a proof. |

Lexusgs430: So in essence pay £2000+(for the same visa process) when the option for a free appeal process is available? A solicitor is not required in less complicated matters. If cost is not an option for the applicant, they can simply re-apply, get a solicitor, pay for unknown transport cost, pay for phone calls etc etc etc When advising it's always best to look at the cheapest option 1st, then explore other options. The OP and applicant, have already decided to appeal so let's hope she cross the T's and dots the I's. We have had loads of applicants on this thread take the appeal route, and they were successful!!!!! Appeal is not free |

ajiedeko: Thanks all for the responses. I'm still learning how to post on this platform.
@Justwise,
the issue is that I don't have any doctor yet hence no correspondence. The person I will be staying with said d doctors told her they don't deal with international patients. So I will only contact them when I arrive the US. I don't have a problem declaring my intentions as I have the cash to pay. My only fear is that since I don't hv a doc yet, I might be bounced. Kindly assist pls. I tried to check thru the threads for any moms that hv given birth in Dallas so I cld get some dr's contacts that I can contact from here but no success. Kindly assist if u can cos I would want to be truthful as I can be. Thanks Yes some hospitals have stopped accepting international patients but others still do. I don't think you really went through posts here for mums who have used Dallas because I think many have. Have you tried using the link in first page to search? |

acedboss: I see, so teaching a person how to use the pm feature too is in violation of the rules of the thread. Mind you, I see peeps here asking for and exchanging whatsapp, email addresses and facebook id's on this thread everyday. at least i've seen peeps drop emails on the thread almost on a daily basis for the past 1 Month especially those asking peeps to send them ielts materials.
You ought to know better and use your discretion to judge that not everything can be discussed on a public forum like this. I'm not yoruba but the Yorubas have a saying 'Gbogbo Aso ko la n sa loorun' which translates to : Not all types of fabric/clothing items are to be dried under the sun(in public). I know you're doing your job but please use your discretion in the discharge of your duties.
Vielen Dank. That is allowed, nothing wrong with dropping email address for ielts material. There is nothing visa/admission related that can not be discussed here. If you can't say it here then there is something wrong with that question. |

iyb: Sum up everything you said it still doesn't make the north more promiscuous than the south. pregnancy before marriage is considered ok by some in the south, having sex with ur girlfriend is considered ok by some, some don't even marry till after giving birth to children ,southerners have accepted that it's not a must for you to find a virgin wife that is not the case in the north ask anyone what will happen if a girl gets pregnant outside the bounds of marriage, ask anyone the type of conflict that ensues when a man finds out his wife is not a virgin call a spade a spade southerners are more promiscuous by a far margin That is simply because children are married off at a very young age. Child marriage is accepted in the north so that is not marrying a virgin that is child abuse. |

jaybiz007: Good evening Mr. justwise, I need your input as regards a tuition free scholarship I'm applying for in the UK. After scaling the admission process, I am now left with the scholarship process where I am required to write a SOP and financial statement. I am done with the SOP but I have little or no idea on how to go about writing the financial statement, which involves understanding the cost implications of studying in UK (accommodation, living expenses et al.), specifically Leicester, and how I intend to source for funds.
It was also stated that evidences may be provided by applicants to back up their application.
Thanks in advance sir, as I hope to hear back from you soonest.
Cc: olowoB and everyone That is easy part because you will get loads of information online on cost of studying in the uk specifically Leicester. Use google to search for..student life in Leicester, cost of living in Leicester as a student etc. You will get loads of information for you financial statement. Also use the school prospective online material and scroll down to financial section where you will find such information |

agarawu23: I will only respect you cos u are a mod and I must confess you are one of the active mod I do respect and praise for your job here in travel section.
But this is a forum and everyone has his/her own freedom of expression in as much we are not off topic.
If I drop my points, I am not expecting anyone to challenge my point and if anyone does, we will start the argument and ppl will learn from both the positive & negative points and that's why its called a forum.
I am just sick and tired of reading positive side without anyone challenging their points (who knows if they are the agents deceiving Nigerians with lies and empty promises here with alternative monikers )
I am Nlder, I love Nlders and I want good for everyone in this forum. Freedom of speech comes with responsibilities and one of them is to respect other people's freedom to have a contrary view. Travel › Re: Student Or Skilled Migrant To Canada: Which One Should I Go For? by justwise(mod): 3:32pm On Apr 07, 2016 |
OpeLovely: I really need your help guys and girls. I am really interested in relocating to Canada and i have been very touched by the great life or greener pastures over there...at least compared to the dire, bleak situation we have in a country like Nigeria.
Now, let me get straight to the point. I am in my early thirties, unmarried and have a low-paying job at the moment. I have a BSc in Mass communication (majored in Advertising and PR), and an MSc in Business administration (Marketing) from a private and federal universities respectively. I have experience in marketing communications, sales, public relations and e-ticketing. I also have skills in drawing, writing and fashion designing. Let's say that Nigeria has not been good to me because i cannot even afford a laptop not to talk of starting a business. I do not have a boyfriend and my job is not encouraging but i had to take it rather than sitting down idle.
I want to go to Canada but there are two options:
1) As a student : Processing time is fast but very expensive considering that its a two year diploma program where my family have agreed to sponsor just the first year while i take care of the rest. Now, let's call a spade a spade...as much as i am eternally grateful for this, we all know its not easy working and schooling...(Its Holland College at PEI). And if one is making a minimum wage of 10-12 pounds an hour, for 20 hours a week, it can barely cover accommodation costs, transport to school, feeding etc not to talk of the tuition proper.
2) As a skilled migrant: An agent based in the UK said i qualify as a skilled migrant and so on but was asking for 2,500pounds in professional fees to cover all the running around or whatever but i will need an account balance of 6,000pounds equivalent (if one converts it to Naira, na to buy plot of land for Lekki na). But this option rules out school wahala so one goes straight into hustling for a good job directly. But the processing time can take forever.
N.B. Yes i have an Msc but please i am willing to hide it if that will better my chances at getting a job (which i do in Nigeria as the jobs are few and far in between) hence the diploma plan in the first place. Also limitation of funds.
I need your help please. What do you suggest? Rule out the agent aspect because he is in for your money and you don't need him to tell you whether you are qualified or not, you are educated enough to find that out, there is a thread here for federal work skills where you can read or ask question to find out whether you are qualified or not. If you are not qualified through work program then education is the next option for you. If your parents are able to keep you going for a whole one year you should be able to use that year to save for next year, though as you rightly pointed out it will be difficult but with hard work and full concentration you should be able to make a meaningful progress. Alternatively you can go for a loan to finance the second year then pay back while you study. |
