A very good article, and I recommend that Justwise pushes this to front page. What is written about is applicable in most developed economies. In the UK, some MPs (equivalent of Nigerian Senators) ride bicycles to their offices. In Nigeria, having a big car is a reflection of societal status.
True that, I don't normally read long articles word to word but I read this one.

Supermods move thread to FP and hopefully they will consider this one.

hello people,

so we touched down Naija on friday and with LO.
Thanks to everybody for your help and contributions. We used WHMC and the bills remain the same with Mrsbwc's bills except doctor charged 2k.

Heat has want to finish my LO. 3 days and heat rash is all over her face. Uber nearly used night bus to send me back to my village until i got to rent a car from Hertz.

please try your best to factor in transportation to your budget when making one. It is very important has it can drain you especially if you are staying in Houston.

curtains down.

@justwise I have accommodation suggestions for people and need your approval to talk about it.

thanks
Whoever needs such info can always pm you for more details. We can't afford to do free advert for them here

You are not independent in your mind because that is your mindset. You have been this way for ages since I started reading your post.

What independence? You are here typing in English, going to church, and practising European systems of govt, economics, and education. And you say you're independent? No. The people of IFE were truly independent. YOU are not.
..and you just typed in what language? IFE don't go to church and don't speak and type in English language?

Yorubas completed cocoa house in 1972. The entire southern Nigeria was booming. Until when some greedy southerners decided to start a civil war so that a minority tribe (ijaws) won't be richer than them.

Do u know what the yoruba would have done with oil money if delta state wasn't removed SW geopolitical zone?
All that is history, what have we done with our current resources that is my question or are we going to keep living in the past?

Come to think of it, ALL our roads would have been paved to perfection by now if those ancients had been left alone to continue developing their societies. Colonialism and slavery set us back badly.

That is just an excuse, since independent what have we done with our resource?

Please add study-in.de and masterportal links to the first post. These websites, with daad.de (and uni-assist for some) gives you enough GENERAL information to start your application process immediately. THEN the part 2 of this series of threads has detailed naija specific information for applicants to successfully get admission and visa.

I'll also advise newbies to browse this series of threads and find posts from exactly one year ago and six months ago before asking questions. This will get anyone better acquainted with what should be done and how best to get it done.

I think these might help us all get optimum benefits from these series of threads. The first post determines the next step a newcomer is likely to take.

Thank you all
What is the difference between those two?

Not sure about master point but you can post the link here..will have a look at it.

I own my personal business, want to travel UK for a short course relating to my business, intensive training to be precise.
Please, how do I go about it?
It will depend on a lot of things...

1. Is the business registered?

2. Do you pay tax from the business?

3. Your annual gross/ net profit

4. Married or single?

5. The total Cost of the trip to the UK

Nothing is guaranteed, not even marrying someone his age but it's a step in the right direction. It's never been about age difference or the person one got married to, but putting together the right paperwork and merits based.
Age matters when visa is involved. That guy wouldn't marry a black women at that age.

montanaguy:
I am a military pensioner on a monthly pension of 46k which is grossly inadequate for me to apply for a visa. I learnt that one must be earning up to 300 to 400k monthly to be qualified to apply for a visa. A friend advised me to use my brother's company as one of his staffs on a monthly salary of 300k. I will hand over 300k to my brother to pay me as a salary every month. Thereafter, I will withdraw the money bit by bit and hand it over to him prior to month end to pay me as salary. He advised me to apply for a visa after 6months of running the account. That when they see that I earn 300k monthly, they will be convinced that I won't run away after issuing me a visa. Please can this work? Who have done it before and what other ways can I improve my statement of account? Thanks
We don't give people advice on how to circumvent immigration system.

Ibiyomee:
There are sins you can never forgive even if you tell the person ' I forgive you'.
For God to forgive some of us our sins, it is because he is not human.
It is easy to forgive for some people but very hard to forget, so tell me what is the essence of FORGIVENESS when you cannot FORGET.
May God help us!
You can not forgive and forget, whoever tells you that you can forgive and forget is being a hypocrite.

You will always remember what happened but the difference is that you will not act or take revenge on that person if you forgive.

I also have to thank those who shared their experiences right from visa journey to life in Germany as foreign students.
