Shokoloko: Hello guys, My mother is a retiree living on the proceeds from a couple of rented properties she owns. She has a very healthy account. Does she need a tax clearance. I keep hearing about the need for a tax clearance but when I went to the british embassy website it wasnt part of the requirements. So I need to know if the tax clearance is absolutely necessary You only need tax clearance if you are running a business. |

6packdude: Hi all, can someone tell me what my chances are with the UK if any. I attended school in England between 2003/2004 then some problems back home and voluntarily went back to Nigeria without withdrawing from school (I was quite young then). I tried to come back later after while school semester was in session and I was denied entry at port of entry and visa cancelled.
Now i'm planning on visiting friends and family and as a US citizen, i know i can just get up and leave but my situation is a lil different. Even though it's more than 10 years, I still worry and feel i need to apply for a visa. I went online and started the application but there's a portion in the online application asking if you ever departed the UK on your own which i did.
Or am i worrying too much and can just buy my ticket and head out there? I don't wanna take a chance because i'd be really upset with myself if I'm denied entry at the airport and then the humiliation, the time, and the money wasted. Though you don't need a visa but you may need to give British embassy a call to be sure See my attachment

guyman2: Dear all,
I have never travelled out of Nigeria before and the farthest I have gone from Lagos is Abuja for a friend's wedding.
I intend to take my 21 working days vacation effective August 01, 2015 and I would like to vist Canada. I have no relative or friend there and even if I have, I hate to disturb people.
I work for a Commercial Bank here in Nigeria with origin in South Africa. This is my third year in the organization and I am a confirmed employee with monthly net pay of over #300k. I equally have #1.2m in my staff current account. My bank can write reference letter to the embassy.
I have a wife and a beautiful daughter and one car here in Lagos and also own an inherited plot of land (no title documents) with an uncompleted building nearing roofing in my village.
I intend to travel alone for that period and come back to my job and family after the vacation. Kindly advise me of my chances and the points I would have to emphasize and downplay in my application.
Many thanks Your net salary is good, you don't need to have relative or friend to be able to get a tourist visa you can book hotel accommodation. You need to submit 6months bank statement(salary account), your current account and your payslip. Your marriage certificate, family pictures, proof of accommodation, if you have properties you can include their papers, same case with car if you have any. You also need to state places you tend to visit while in Canada. |

johndarey: Dear all, will be goin 4 a conference in canada for which all expenses except visa application fee will be paid by the organizing body. Now trying to apply for visa, proof of financial resource of supporter and proof of means of financial support was asked for. My question nw is, will proof of financial resource of supporter cover for the two requests? If not, how do i go about the proof of means of financial support? will a statement of account from a Nigerian bank do? Since it is a week program, what is the minimum amount i will need 2 have in my bank account?
Tnx Are you working at the moment and if yes is your company sponsoring the conference? |

molly14: Thank u so much. One more thing, please my sister is inviting me and she can't seems to find her tenancy agreement but she said her utility bill will serve the same purpose. She also said they should have it on record becos she has invited my mum last year. Please is it wise to go ahead and use d utility bill witout d tenancy agreement? She can add her utility bills and explain the issue of tenancy agreement in the letter. You also need to have a strong tie to Nigeria, your sister's documents alone will not be enough you need to prove that you be returning to Nigeria if given a visa |

rhoso: @Justwise..Thank you for your advise.
I will however need further clarification on these quesions -
What is the cost to you personally of your trip in GBP(£)? - (Does this include the cost of my flight and any other money i intend to spend or just spending money?
The total amount of money you have for this trip? - I do not understand.
Sorry for bothering you, I just need to understand this cos this is what cost me the first application.
Thank you once again. 1. Yes it means every penny you tend to spend on the trip. 2. The total amount of money you have for this trip? Total amount you have for the trip could be £2000 but the trip will cost you £1000. This is why it's important for you to do a mini budget of the trip carefully outlining how you tend to spend the money available. Remember not to over budget or spend more than 2 months of you monthly income especially if you are on average salary. |

molly14: Good day justwise, please will a deposite of 900k in my account in April be considered as Lumpsum if I apply for Visa in July? Because I'm really not clear on this issue. That will look suspicious without any explanation and source of that money. |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(mod): 3:48pm On Jun 09, 2015 |
rhoso: @ Justwise
This is what I stated in the form when I applied -
What is the cost to you personally of your trip in GBP(£)? 1300 The total amount of money you have for this trip? 1800 GBP The cost of the aeroplane, boat or train tickets 750GBP
I probably did not understand what they meant by all these, kindly advise
Thank you. I understand where you are coming from, the only major expenditure here is the £750 flight money. Its 50/50 situation, you can reapply and explain that your friend will be accommodating you and that the trip will only cost you the £750 for the ticket. Your friend has to include the same statement in his letter and attach data page of his passport and proof of accommodation..e.g tenancy agreement or mortgage paper. |

royal1989: @justwise please i need your urgent reply; i was recently denial a norway vocational resident permit on the following grounds:
the directorate of immigration believes that the applicant does not have the necessary ties to his country of origin in order to be granted a permit.
the applicant comes from a country with great potential for emigration.reference is made to the economic and social conditions in the applicant's home country. further, the applicant is young, unmarried and without children.
the applicant has not documented a particular connection to norway.
please i plan to appeal the case but i do not know to go about this This is a wrong thread. You can open one for Norway if you can't find an existing one. |

rhoso: @Justwise Thank you.
That is why I have presented the case here and need an advice, I am not hell-bent on going there for my vacation but if I stand a chance to be issued then I will want to know. The fact that my account balance is now 1.1m from 910k + my cost available for the trip is now 1,100GBP instead of 1,800GBP i put before, is that not enough significant change? I just need your take and advise if to go on or drop it, and if to go on what can I do to increase my chances of being granted the visa.
Thank you. Was the £1800 you stated before for ticket and shopping alone? |

Veeme: Hi guys, please help.... My partner in desperation to get UK visa to come and see me went to get some advice and stupidly was advised to say that he was married in Nigeria and that he had a child. The guy advising him said this was the only way to get a visa as proof of his return to Nigeria. I am so angry with him as visa was refused anyway and now what to do? We want to get married, probably in Nigeria and then reapply for a spouse visa. I told him he has to tell the truth that he was not married but he is terrified that if he admits he lied, that they will ban him for 10yrs. An immigration lawyer is advising him to continue with the lie and get a 'divorce' certificate. I don't like the idea of this and think he should just come clean. If we get married, will this lie stop him from coming the the UK? Thank you Obviously the lies wouldn't help the situation but getting married is the right thing to do. Listen to the immigration lawyer at your own peril. Yes you are right he needs to come out clean and stop the chain of lies. |

rhoso: @ Justwise thanks for your response.
My friend will be accommodating me during the duration of my stay and it was stated in his letter, hence there was no cost of accommodation.
Kindly advise, thank you. What I meant before was did you add that part in your first application? Or is this new development? |

flgd: Hello House,
I thinking of applying for the Expess Entry using an agent (canreach) as am quite busy.
I would like anyone who has used CANREACH to give a view on them and also advice if this is advisable and what the rate of success is?
Am a seasoned professional in one of the financial institution and my wife is also well qualified.
Thanks We don't promote or endorse any agent in this section. We encourage DIY, if you want to use agents then good luck but we will not waste pages here promoting one. |

naijamark: @ jnrbanks, tuition at SHU should be £11,500 witg your £3,000 discount you pay £8,500. At Coventry, you'll be paying around £9,000. So tuition-wise, both schools are giving you the sane deal. Consider @worry357 job prospects and @precioustones module peculiarities and your interests. Coventry school fees is £12,349 for classr courses while practical courses goes for £13,013 |
