Olisedinma: Please Justwise, I need clarification, does the required funds need to be in the account before the visa application Please I also need to know how to obtain a pre authorization code. Please I need your assistance.
It needs to be in your account before and during visa application processing and also available to you in the UK.

I don't know how to obtain pre authorization code, a lot of pple here know and they will help you.

Have you ever been to the UK before?

Cavenchy: True that, but most viewings are organised by agents anyways, the To Let signboards are put up by agents. Is there any other way for someone who isn't already in the Uk to get off campus housing online without going through one of them? I just think its safer than paying money to some complete stranger who puts pictures of his aunts bedroom on the internet. Zoopla provides a list of agency lettings so people could choose to visit the actual agents or not. I don't think they(Zoopla) are agents themselves
Its not a good idea to make deposit for a room you haven't seen, no matter who you are dealing with. You can use gumtree, roomshare, roomate...to search then make an appoitment for viewing before making deposit paying for it.

Come to the UK 4-5 days before course start date, you will see rooms advertised on your school noticeboard by students or private landlord registered with the school. Rooms are also advertised on shop windows around the uni, many options available.

Cavenchy: I think I know a good site that can sort you out on proper accomodation, zoopla.co.uk. I think they showcase listings from different agencies. N.B: Its best to find accomodation close to your school, as you would be spending most of your time there. So the maps function and your uni post codes should come in handy.
Agency charge will increase the total rent price

mun0513: @justwise, @spikesC and other gurus,

I will really appreciate if you can answer few of my concerns.

1) I have applied for Tier 4 Visa on 7th August and since then 11 working days have passed. I haven't got any reply from BHC but only 1 SMS stating that Application has been forwarded to UKVI.
I tried to contact UKVI through email and have received a response that 'My application is still waiting to be assessed by an Entry Clearance Officer'.
Is it normal and should I wait until 15 working days' duration is completed?

2) I have submitted an original bank statement dated: 5th August 2014 with following transactions:

6th July Balance Carried forward
7th July Last Deposit Amount

That's it. No transaction has been processed during 28 days. Therefore, to support this bank statement. I have submitted a bank Letter addressing to Visa Officer, BHC that The Current Balance is so and so which is ending on closing business date 4th August 2014.
I have also mentioned in Additional Section of Visa application form to review this bank letter along with bank statement. Am I good to go?

Your prompt response will be greatly appreciated. This waiting period is killing me cheesy

Regards and Thanks in advance smiley
mun0513: Thank you for your reply. True, Let's hope everything goes well and good for all the people in this forum smiley
Justwise, can you please answer my 2nd query, whether I am good to go with the banking documents that I have submitted to support 10 points for maintenance funds.
Thank you in advance.
Regards
As long as you deposited the required amount and left it in your account for 28days...you will be fine, letter from the bank is not needed but adding it will not harm your application

The delay thing is a common story here, so you are not a lone on that. Some people complained that the message hardly changed even after collecting their passports.Just relax and wait.

ledafaze: Hi All,

I was online some few days ago to check the requirements for the new e-Passport but what I met there was alarming... a letter from the Lcoal Government? Please do these things do apply?

1) All Nigerian by birth, naturalization and registration.
2) Guarantor’s form duly signed by a commissioner of oaths.
3) Photocopy of Data page of guarantor’s passport.
4) Photocopy National identity card or Drivers License.
5) Father’s Letter of consent for MINORS under 16years (Mother’s letter of consent in case of deceased father).
6) Marriage Certificate where applicable
7) Husband’s consent letter OR Letter of introduction for employee of government or corporate organization.
cool Court affidavit and police report in case of lost passport.

Posh area and the uni ranking increases the rent price for students but pay for one semester and when you get there and get to know the city you will find cheaper accommodations.

mikkyphp: Lol..i can tell you dont like Hami. but pls lets be objective.
Hami had the line and he did not MOVE OVER. Rosberg turned left earlier to avoid him, then changed his mind while approaching the corner to MOVE OVER right once again. he clearly couldnt have been able to make the corner unscathed without tucking behind Hamilton. Rosberg did it on purpose!
I hope FIA punish him for that, take away points won today and start the next race from pitlane

Its not the first time.. Will not be the last
This is from LH after team meeting:

"We just had a meeting about it and he basically said he did it on purpose," said Hamilton. The 2008 world champion added: "He said he could have avoided it, but he didn't want to. He basically said, 'I did it to prove a point'."
Hamilton said he was "gobsmacked" by Rosberg's admission.
"He just came in there and said it was my fault," added Hamilton, who returned to the race after having his left rear tyre replaced only to quit with just a few laps remaining

HudsonBanks: Okay thank you, just tried as you suggested and here is my findings; Only 5 recent postings(i.e within the last two months) and the best out of all 5 is a single room for £90/week including utilities, same flat has a double room for £130/week and its a flat of 4.

Guess I'm just unlucky with the town my uni is located. I'll do some house hunting still when I get there & will hopefully find something reasonable.
Where is your uni? If you don't mind me asking.

ProdulyYoruba: Hello Everyone,

I need your candid and professional advice on the best way to go about my visa application.

Below is my circumstance:

My fiancee, back then, was granted UK ILR which she got by the virtue of her dad's Citizenship
and migrated in Sept. 2013.

They both came home a few months ago for our wedding and stayed back for about 2 months but have since left for the UK.
Meanwhile, we did not register the wedding at the time because of the fear of it affecting my visa application because she
is not currently earning the 18,600 pounds that would enable me to apply for Marriage visa. The plan is to register our wedding
when i eventually get to the UK.

She still lives with him over there - in a two bedroom apartment - and currently studies Nursing but works part-time as a Social Health Worker.

In addition, she is pregnant and we are expecting our first child.

As for me, i work in Lagos and i earn =N=1,560,000/annum after tax.

I plan to relocate to the UK to join her next year and i'm at a cross road as to the type of visa i can apply for
that will give me the privilege to register our marriage over there and also get work permit.

Please help me out.
Register your marriage in Nigeria to stand any chance of applying for spouse visa, at the moment your best bet is through spouse visa, any other type of visa will be a hard work for you.

Your wife need to get a job that pays £18,600 a year because she has to sponsor you. She also need to get her own place before you send in spouse visa application because you will need the tenancy paper.

HudsonBanks: Not exactly sir, who wouldn't want to save some reasonable cash. I tried using the studentpad of my school to search for off-campus accommodation but the amount I was seeing was still expensive, I think the least I saw for a decent(not fantastic but just OK) shared flat of 5 occupants was £90/week, some including utilities some not including. I also tried other sites like rightmove.co.uk and a few others but what I saw was similar.

If you could direct me to another website where I could get something cheaper I would be extremely grateful, I don't mind breaking my contract by December when my school allows it.
Try gumtree and select private landlord

You want to pay that because you got the money and not because you got no choice.
