Chiichii2010: University resumes international student recruitment

  0

Tue 5th August, 2014

The University of Bedfordshire has welcomed today’s decision by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) to allow the University to resume recruiting international students.

The decision confirms that the University can continue to issue Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) letters to new international students. It follows a detailed audit by UKVI of the University’s procedures for the management and monitoring of international students.

Welcoming the decision Bill Rammell, the University of Bedfordshire’s Vice Chancellor, said:

“I was always confident that our procedures for monitoring international students were robust, and I’m pleased that UKVI’s thorough and detailed audit has confirmed this.

“We take our immigration compliance responsibilities extremely seriously. We cooperated with UKVI throughout the audit and I’m delighted that, following this decision, we can now resume issuing CAS letters to new international students.

“We recruit large numbers of international students because of our excellent student experience and graduate employability success. We can now provide more opportunities such as this.”

The University’s ability to issue CAS letters to international students was paused by the Home Office on 24 June 2014, when the Minister for Immigration and Security made a statement in Parliament regarding student visas. The Minister stated that the University would not sponsor new students pending the outcome of the UKVI investigation.

The University’s licence to recruit international students remained intact and was not suspended, and current international students were not affected in any way by the short pause in the University’s ability to issue new CAS letters.

The University of Bedfordshire was awarded the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education in 2013 – the highest form of national recognition for universities in the UK.

Bill Rammell added:

“Our courses are driven by world-leading research and are taught by some of the leading academics in their field. The University provides students of all backgrounds with high quality teaching, outstanding facilities, great support and an excellent experience.

“And 92% of Bedfordshire students find employment or are in further study soon after they gra

ShegsA: They've reduced the MSc fees for 2014/2015 academic session to £7000 if you pay before registration. Check my first post there is a screenshot on the mail I received from the school.
That is like admission summer sales!!

ShegsA: But why is University of Bedfordshire so cheap? Another scholarship for international students where Masters students will pay £7000...
They are struggling to go up the ranking, under immigration investigation for visa fraud, suspended at the moment. Not a school i will recommend to anybody at the moment.

Their fees for undergraduate and Msc are still about £9500

No Hamas are firing 'water cannon' into Israel and care so much for their own people.

omenpetrol: I'm also struck by the rank hypocrisy of many critics of Israel who have remained silent in the face of the incessant Muslim-on-Muslim slaughter occuring on a daily basis throughout the world.
Thousands of children are being butchered in Syria - by Muslims; thousands of innocent civilians are being butchered every month in Iraq - by Muslims; not to mention the daily unspeakable atrocities being carried out in Nigeria,Kenya, Afghanistan and Pakistan against women and children - by Muslims.

Yet for some inexplicable reason they only raise their voices in synthetic outrage when Israel (disproportionately and unacceptably - agreed) defends itself initially against Hamas's rockets.
Pathetic. Cynical. And morally bereft.
Oh well....its only news when Israel, US and the west are mentioned.

They don't have the gut to demonstrate or speak against ISIS, Hamas or Boko Haram because we all know the consequences .

nickson03: ]I posted in this site last year about my wife visiting visa that was refuse because the eco could not verify her letter from university and i tikd the case to court on the bade of human right. Just to update the house the appeal was head in the 8 july and we got the reply from the court that our appeal has be allowaned meaning we won tge case and now we are expecting enbassy to issue the visa to my wife. But i have one challange i have apply for british passport for my twins babies but the passport is is taking too long tp process can i apply for visiting visa for the twins the twins are 6months. I am british and the qualify the twins to be a british citizen. How do i go about the visa? Thanks

Since they are British citizens and you have applied for passport for them...there is no need for visa application as they don't need a visa to visit the UK. You have to wait for their passport application to be resolved.

LadyWolfe: I certainly declared the refusal of last year and even explained improvement in circumstance (ie promotion and travel to US and Europe on official assignment).

The only reasons for refusal were the deposits to my account and a comment they had already refused my husband for lack of funds. Our balances combined were almost 3m. Turnover on the accounts were almost double as most of our allowances are paid upfron early in the year.
Then you can reply anytime and take your time to explain the deposits in your account
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(mod): 12:58pm On Aug 05, 2014
LadyWolfe: Documents submitted included:
Introduction letters for self and spouse from work
Payslips
Bank statements
Salary breakdown (to show monthly, quarterly and upfront payments)
Travel Itinerary (included places to visit, cost breakdown for entire trip)
Invitation letter from hubby's sister &husband
Property tax bill (dont recal what its called again)
Bank statements of inviter
Marriage certificates
Birth certificates (to show relationship between spouse and inviter)
An attestation sheet showing list of docs

Of the 8 deposits (from Jan 2014) that they stated have unknown origin, 4 are upfront payments from work, 3 are ajo contributions and 1 is a credit I received from a collegue who needed help in online purchase using my credit card.

My husband's single lump sum is also from work.

I have been to US, SA and europe (never breached visa terms) while my husband studied in SA. I was previoulsy denied a UK visa last year (around d time the UK soldier was stabbed by our nigerian/uk brother). I know emotions were high so I didnt say anything. But i stronlgy believe this denial was unjustifiable.

Several mistakes were made in the refusal notice:
wrong date of birth (my hubby's date of birth was quoted for me)
wrong conversion rates (1.5m was quoted as 1777pounds)

What would you advise as next steps?
Was that the only reason for the refusal and did you declare the visa refusal last year?

Babymama123: Uhmn, I just came across this forum yesterday, had I known I won't have lied.
What is your candid advise. Have got the cash required to carry out all my medical expenses and also correspondence between my relative dere and the doctors. Pls help. Can I write to the consulate and seek approval.

They will most likely cancel your visa because your action is premeditated, rather than writing to seek approval if i were you i will be writing letter of apology for misrepresenting facts that is material to your visa application.

The crime is committed already so there is no point making things worse by being economical with the truth. Come out clean, apologize then lets hope your honesty (no matter how late its) will be rewarded.

Sending a letter to them saying stuff like: I now want to use my visa to give birth in US or i'm getting married now and pregnant etc will make the issue harder than its now.

akmoses: thanks @ justwise
Let me clarify something about your question 2 because i don't want to give you wrong impression.

Those documents are not needed for student visa application, they are materials for visiting visa or other type of visa applications.

With student visa application there is nothing like showing home tie or source of your income.

Good luck

akmoses: Hello all,

please ur guidance is highly needed.

2. is it important to state in the form, the additional information section, all i have been doing (like working) so as to show the time frame of when i graduated till now? And do i need to submit my employment documents, pay slip, tax returns and study leave alongside other documents to prove to the ECO of my return back to work after the masters program? cos i was adviced to add these documents because they want to see proof of wat u've been doing and ensure one returns back to home country

3. can i print my statement on exact 28day or shld i put in a day extra say money deposited on 10th July, start counting from 11th July, the 28days period ends 7th August, and i intend to apply and do d registration online on 8th August, and print statement 11th August. So i was hoping to inform the bank officials i need the statement from 10th July - 8th August (is this wise?), so just incase the ECO wants to count from 8th backwards, i get a total of 30days

4. i did my tb test in june even before i got my cas and somhow i put in a family member address in the uk. does this matters because som1 said i was suppose to put the address of the school.

I await ur responses.
(Modify) (Quote) (Report)
2. Its not important to add those or state what you have been doing since then. You can state those if asked at the interview.

3. You can print the bank statement any day from the 28th's day.

4. There is nothing wrong with that.

Babymama123: Hello house, have been reading all day. Thanks all your messages, please have got some questions to ask I was granted USA B1/b2 visa I told them at the embassy I was going for vacation in Houston also am still single. But of a truth I am a married lady and I am going to have my baby. Also after a lot of consideration MIHS seems to be more affordable and cheaper.
Pls do I have to go through Houston before going to Arizona since I declared at the embassy I was going to Houston. Also do I have to declare am pregnant, am due in November and I intend traveling in October, please advise, should I still stick to my vacation n Houston or change my route and say the truth. Thanks.
You are not doing yourself and that unborn baby any favour, you will get caught.

Good luck.

LadyWolfe: Hello Justwise and all contributors,

My family visit visa was refused, along with my husband. Cited cases of cash lodgement and that we didnt show evidence that we could fund the trip (we both earn close to 750k permonth).

I save money is another account seperate from my salary account, I guess I failed to explain that.

How soon can we re-apply if we wish to address the issues raised by the ECO; or how do we request for administrative review?

Our planned holiday is in October.
Can you list those documents you submitted?

ibe003: Please I am planning to visit brazil as a tourist, and I will like to stay in a hotel, please what are some other requirement will i need to bring?, I have contacted some visa agent and they charge me 200k, with 100k upfront payment, but I wanna do it by my self I am afraid of this agents, please I need you kindly advice.
ibe003: Pleases my people I am heading to brazil soon. were is the best city to live in brazil, at least were I will get something doing and be seeing my fellow 9ija people,.. pleases I need you guys help.
You don't come across as somebody who has enough to eat let alone sponsor a friend abroad or start a business in Manchester.

Your 100k salary a month is just about £400, that can only pay your rent in the UK outside London with nothing left to sponsor a friend or start a business.

Fixed account is actually a cash fund. U have access to it at anytime. O ga oo
Its called fixed deposit account for a reason, you can't withdraw as you do with current or savings account.

That money is fixed to a date.

I don't usually reply to a post the moment agent comes into it.

Also, If I eventually return the money back today, 28days will be 31st Aug, hope that is not too late to apply for visa?

Or can I just put the money in my account?
Money that can be used

181. You can use money held in an account owned by you or by your parents. If you are using
funds held by your parent(s)/legal guardian(s), you will need to show us evidence that you
are related to your parent(s)/legal guardian(s) and that you have their permission to use this
money.

182. The evidence of money that you use must be of cash funds in the bank (this includes
savings accounts and current accounts even when notice must be given), as a loan letter
or official financial or government sponsorship available to you
. Other accounts or financial
instruments such as shares, bonds, overdrafts, credit cards and pension funds are not
acceptable, regardless of notice period.

Varvara: Hi house!

Today I was in USA Embassy in Malaysia with my husband. I want to say before that we are russian and it's a little bit complicated to receive that type of visa in non-residence country. We were talking a lot time with immigration officer. My husband speaks very bad in english, so he wanted to give pink paper with refusing and for me yellow paper. Then he changed his mind and gave to my husband another yellow paper with administrative checking. So he has to prove his educational background, send CV and explanation of his professional skills. That one we can do without any problems. More over, we have to send it just through email

In my situation, we bring 4 husband bank statement from russian bank and 1 local bank statement with my savings. So together we had more then 10 000 usd. Then immigration officer asked us , do we have just russian bank accounts. I answered, that I have local one, but my sponsor is my husband. SO he told that we don't have enough proof of payment. So I found that he doesn't believe russian papers. So he gave me yellow small paper with that text:

"Your passport and documents are being returned to you. Your application is refused pending the provision of missing documentation. This is routine procedure in the U.S. visa process. We will continue processing your application upon receipt of the information and /or documents listed below. Detailed and complete documentation will help us decide your case quickly, while incomplete or vague answers may result in further delays."

And he filled form with that text OTHER PROOF OF PAYMENT.

So, what do you think? what does it could be?
You are both Russians but living and working in Malaysia?

I'm applying for a student visa and I have some questions to ask.

1. I've paid my full tuition fees and I have 3m left in my mum's (sponsor) account. The money has been in her account since March 2014 and it has presently (june) been moved to a fixed account. The question now is; can i use a fixed account?

2. If NO, when she moves the money back into her account, do I have to wait for 28day? huh

3. I have a valid uk visa (2yrs), will the embassy cancel it if they approve my study visa? cry

Thank you.
1. No you can't.

2. Yes you have to start counting again

3. Not really sure about that.

The Department for Health said the test on the elderly woman, who landed at Gatwick Airport, came back negative on Sunday afternoon.

Some 728 people have died of Ebola in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone this year, in the worst-ever outbreak of the disease.

Public Health England says the risk to the UK remains very low.
