kemkem30: Its not stated in my CAS. The award is from a Nigerian university(where I work). I hope I can still use the letter.
Ok but have they paid all the money into your account now or enough to cover fees and maintenance money?
Travel › Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by justwise(mod): 1:36pm On Aug 09, 2014
kemkem30: 94000pounds but they specifically quoted 264naira to 1 pound. they are paying the naira equivalent.
Since the money covers everything and its stated in your CAS why not use the scholarship letter rather than paying the money into your account?
Travel › Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by justwise(mod): 1:09pm On Aug 09, 2014
kemkem30: The scholarship (academic staff training and development) is a tetfund program for university staff. We applied through the university. Tetfund approves and the university issues award letter. The entire money has been paid to the university. The university then pays us in installments.
Ok, and the scholarship worth ninety three thousand pounds?
Travel › Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by justwise(mod): 12:22pm On Aug 09, 2014
DonOms: If you have the 28 days to count after money is lodged into your account by TETFund, I will advice you apply as a Tier 4 (General) Student.
That option of applying as (Sponsorship) is used when governments or international organisations will be FULLY sponsoring the applicant. Now, if TETFund states the conversion rate on the Scholarship letter, it may appear as if the sponsorship will not include any currency conversion fluctuation, and you MAY be at the mercy of the ECO and I don't know what might happen.

Oga @Justwise, please look into this and advice accordingly. Thanks.
To start with...who gave the scholarship? TETFund or an organisation or institution funded by TETFund?

Vicjustice: With the unreasonable ranting that he has displayed here, I can only wonder the manner of personality that he has in real life.
I just read and reviewed my correspondece with him to try to figure out what I did to trigger his anger, but I can't see the cause

I found one....you should have said stuff like....its 'god' that issues visa,....you know of an uncle who sales ice water under the bridge that was issued 5yrs visa even without inflow & outflow in his account..... grin grin

Forto: I have been reading this thread and 99 percent of cases here are usually money aspect or strong ties to Nigeria, now i dont have an issue in money aspect cos the inflow and outflow of money is very good, and i operate a family business which i believe is a strong tie to Nigeria cos my mum is hardly there so i like run the business myself, which i will detail in a letter to them, so wat do i need an official appointment letter for wen its a family business? so now d problem is my certificate must be up to a year old, give me a reason why my CAC must get up to a year before i can apply? Is d uk not after ur strong ties or ur finances? And certificate to show u operate a genuine business? I have seen so money responses from u guys and its very discouraging which is too bad, i just decided to give it a try , more discouragement. There are some people that still provide all d documents but still get rejected! Its all has to do with the ECO! Vicjistice and justwise are just bad belle people dat dont want people to travel!

grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin oh my days!! Why me? grin grin

Ruleogo: Hello everyone...I posted a comment on this forum sometime ago about been refused uk visa because of a mistake I made and which I sent an email to the effect to correct the mistake but wasn't seen and I was refused on 720(b). I immediately did a review after discussing it here and attached the email I sent to correct the mistakes.now the ukba sent me a mail to state this.
The decision to refuse on this ground is still maintained, but you are welcome to submit a fresh application anytime at the VHS centers.and if You should apply, an attempt to be made to state the previous refusal issues.I can not however guarantee the outcome of your application.
So @justwise and everyone.am I good to go to submit my student visa.

Ruleogo: Yeah 320(7a)....mixed it up.
You are not good to go, the chances of refusal based on your previous offence is high. Refusal under 320 (7A) carries 10yrs ban.

ShegsA: I agree with this. Buy something that will be very useful both during your degree program + when you start working except you plan on trading in the old to purchase a newer one when you start working.
So big screen will affect its quality? I'm not a fan of big screen, 15 is the biggest i can go for but i want to know why you think big screen will mean it will not be useful after uni.

Pweety1: @justwise, how do you get the oanda print.

Please help me out with my questions:
1) I paid in 4m in my account for the remaining fees and maintenance since the 4th of august for the fees. I have also been running the account by paying in and withdrawing money but i didnt touch the 4m. Right now i have 4.5m in my account. Can i still use the account to apply for visa or will i have to start counting again. I'm suppose to have 14000pds equivalent to 3.8m
2) I want only ask in my CAS to provide my transcript and Waec result for English language which were in my maiden name. is is okay to include my marriage certificate and change of name in newspaper cuttings. (someone said i should include all the documents i used for applying to the school)
3) which center is the best to apply for visa, Ikeja or V/I

Please someone just help a desperate sister out. I thought one can withdraw and pay in money into the account without touching the required amount.
DonOms has answered your questions.

Travel › Re: Usa Visit Visa by justwise(mod): 5:44pm On Aug 08, 2014
ekpotek: For that is the key question. Never say you know someone in the US, even if you know. In my first interview in 2008, the VO asked me if I know someone in the US, which I responded in the negative. He then asked me where are my siblings, I told him they were all in Nigeria, mention the states they were. Then I passport was fresh with no travel history, and my visa was approved. The bottom line is never reveal any information that give the VO the impression that you are not likely to return. Such information as knowing family member and spend long time in the US are very difficult to convince the VO for first-time applicant
That is misleading and dangerous thing to advice somebody. Please lets be mindful of the sort of advice we give people here.

Chioti: Please I have an urgent question concerning funds to be kept for 28 days. If I decide to keep just the maintenance funds for the 28 days while I gather my tuition fees and am certain that within the 28 days, before I make my application, the money will be ready and then pay directly to the university such that it reflects on my CAS, will it be a valid thing to do.

Nothing wrong with that, you can do that without any fear, as long as its reflects on your CAS you will be fine.

tobee: Please do u mean both the certificate and transcript
Only submit what is mentioned in your CAS, if its certificate then submit only certificate, its only transcript then that is only what you will submit, and if both are mentioned then submit both.

tobee: I sent my bsc certificate and also ask Unilag to send a soft copy of my transcript to them; which they did.
That is exactly what you need to include in your visa application package.

tobee: @ Justwise, please is it necessary for me to include my transcript in my supporting document? My CAS only stated BSC from UNilag. It didn't categorically say Certificate. If yes, do u have an idea of how to get transcript from Unilag as they DON'T issue transcript to individuals.
What certificate did you send to the school during the admission application?

adaobi123: Under £600
Then you got no prob getting a good laptop for course work, 15.00 inch for tv or movie and with loads of storage space.

Log in to Argos and see range of good laptops within your spec for less than £500.

kenngeorge: Please @justwise, Nairaland members and non members, i need urgent advise and assistance. A cousin of mine got an offer from an Austrian university to study MBA. He resides in Ukraine and needs to get his birth certificate authenticated at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nigeria and then taken to the Austrian embassy in Nigeria also for verification. However, the challenge is that my contact in Abuja is out of the country for good yet my contact does not include Austrian embassy. Please, is there anyone in the house who can help with a legit and reliable contact? This would be greatly appreciated.
Why do you need a 'contact' to get that done?

Your calculation is confusing....

1.Are you going with the remaining school fees?

2. Apart from £500 deposit for accommodation how much are you going with for maintenance?
