xtianchris: please @justwise my elder bro jst got his resident permit in d uk...i want to know if its so soon to apply for a visiting visa.....and with his permit will i be granted a visa ..also what are the requirements..tthanks....
Read this thread and this link for requirements http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas-immigration/visiting/family/

Sadly your brother's resident permit will not help much, you still have to meet all requirements just like everybody else.

If you don't find what you want from that link or here then ask

oln: Hi VicJustice and justwise:please my hubby and I intend applying for UK visa and will like to know the following:1)how many months prior to our tentative date of travelling should one apply for a UK visa.2)If hotel bookings can suffice for tour package itinery.3)Is it also compulsory we include our birth certificates since we are presenting that of the children we aren't travelling with.Thank you
1. Apply at least 2months in advance.

2.Hotel booking is ok, nothing wrong with that.

3.There is no need including your birth certificate, marriage certificate is more important in this case

Review takes ages and there is no guarantee you will win it.

You will be refused a visa, to avoid that.... pay that money into your account and leave it there for 28days.
Its that simple

asiwajutej: Yes I also submitted my personal statement of account. Does it mean I cant review the case? Also, if i'm re-applying should I include my wife and daughter in the application and also retain the said travel date which is 20th july 2013?
Like i said before if you can provide answers to those refusal reasons then you can reapply, the earlier you do it the better as July 20th is not far away. Sure you can include your family.
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(mod): 2:48pm On Jun 09, 2013
kunlebal: Yes

@justwise, am waiting for your response.
Its not going to be good news for him if he reapplied with another name, the other name is logged into their system already. How will he explain the change of name? He can forget about the UK or stick to the name they have in the system

asiwajutej: asiwajutej: Hi Justwise,

I'm new here pls I need your advice on my visa refusal.

I got a 6months uk visa last year November but travelled in December and February ds year.

I applied for a 2yrs renewal and included my wife and daughter's passport to apply as a family but theirs was 6 months.

The ECO refused the application on these reasons;

1. That I didn't travel at about the time I stated in my application I was going.
2. That I didn't state in details our planned trip i.e. where my family will be visiting etc and also I didnt give full details about my previous trips.
3. That this will be my third trip in seven months that they are not sure if the funds available to me is actually for the travel purpose. A sponsorship letter was written by my company for evidence of funds approved to me to take care of my trip and all sundry expenses.
4.That theres no proof showing that my wife is unemployed.

I'm a practicing Architect and I own a company resident in lagos. I included my proof of funds, company cac forms, personal and company acct statement with bank reference letter, contract award letters and payment invoices, marriage cert etc but still it was denied.

Kindly advice if I should write a review letter or I reapply.

Thanks
They made it easier for you to argue against the refusal, if you can provide counter argument against those 4 reasons then you can reapply.

Apart from your company's account do you have another account?

gbaby87: Hmmm okay. So say i get the letter from my job, i get the money in my account (evidence of that being a bank statement and its paid in by my father)

Btw my job is an asst mgr, my salary is abt 80k p/m. (also thank you for all the assistance, i knw we're going back and forth here)
You can give it a trail but i have my fear still.

kunlebal: Please house I need an urgent reply on this issue,
I have a brother that applied for uk visa with fake name and DOB in the year 2008 and was refuse. Know he's working with a company that want to send him to uk for 1 month training.
This is the question, when he applied in 2008 he use a different name on his passport but he was refuse. He know as E-passport with is real name and DOB can he still apply.
Was his fingerprint taken in 2008?

gbaby87: Not even if i make the deposit? How about i leave out the job part? or explain with details? sad.
Is that the only problem? how about time? Will l need the money to sit in my account for a certain period like with my student fees?
Any amount you present has to be justified with paper evidence, you have to state the source of the income AND proof your tie-to Nigeria, at the moment your job is the only strong tie you have.

The student rule does not apply in this case.
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(mod): 10:48am On Jun 09, 2013
gbaby87: ...uh yeah. Maybe not for the fell 7 days as i want, but i'm trying to work around that(and i'm 80% confident i'll get the time off)
You will have problem in finance area, if you are not earning enough to afford the trip then you will struggle to convince the ECO.

gbaby87: I have. I should be confirmed in July
Since you just started the job do you think your company will be able to give you leave to attend the graduation?

How much is your actual salary or range?
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(mod): 9:45am On Jun 09, 2013
gbaby87: Hi All, i've been trying to read and follow the posts and answers here, hoping to find a problem similar to mine so that i don't end up asking the same question over and over again (cos i can imagine how annoying that is). However i havent quite come across one that covers all my issues so i figured i'd just ask anyway and hope for an answer.

1. I completed my Msc in UK last year and returned in october with abt four months left on my visa, during my time there (one year) i came and left once (xmas holiday) and i applied for a schengen visa as well(and got it).

2. SO now i'm back in nigeria but, thinking of going back for my graduation in july, 13th.
3. I got a job in a well known company, the position is good but the pay is measly so its really not doing anything for my account and therefore my account is going to be funded by aunt (she also funded it for my student visa, my dad is wary of internet banking lol)

With all these stated, these are the issues-
A. I havent applied yet...will i have enough time if i intend to leave on the 11th of julyhuh
B. My account is not that exciting its currently a little under 200k, and my uk account is also blank
C. The account status can be rectified but it is likely to be a lump sum payment. I think i can justify it, but will it fly at the UKBA regardless?
D. Also what do i do about my employment status? Employed or unemployed as i havent been confirmed yet.

THANK YOU!!!
Do you mean you haven't started the job yet?

At the risk of divulging personal info, I have been involved in the private sector for for 23 years and have seen many people like you. You never last. Before I went into business for myself, I had bosses like you, and I hated them.

Sigh...Seun understands leadership (and public relations). You have a lot to learn from him.
I'm sure they hated you as well as and couldn't wait to get rid of you.

Have fun being "King" in your very small corner of the internet. grin
This is democracy, you have been given the platform to air your views but if you want to abuse it then somebody will show you the exit door quicker than you expected.

bobthebuilder99: I have already said that I like this site. Constructive criticism is how you identify problems and make things get better. It is kinda sad that you are a mod, if you moderate the same way you imply here.

You sound like most Africans who have no idea what to do with power, or leadership positions.
I moderate the same way and people who need help keep coming back to the section and a single thread is growing into 757 pages, if they don't like it they would have gone to other sites. Nobody want a traitor in his site, if you like it then stay and when you don't feel it any more leave quietly.

bobthebuilder99: Placing a delete account button makes users happy. Happy users become evangelists for your company. Or at least prevents them from bad mouthing it.

For example, I found out about this website from a friend. He used this site, liked it, and recommended that I join. If you make people mad and develop a bad reputation, then...as they say, "bad news travels fast". People will not think well of your site, and it will affect the amount of new users. The worse case scenario is that a competitor will pop up and suck up ALL your users, even the happy ones.

A delete account button is not really asking for much. That's all I am saying. And every website has a delete account button. It is highly irregular for a website NOT to provide that option.
Your friend liked it and recommended it to you but some of you asking for the delete button and wanting to leave don't like it and will not recommend it to anybody going by the posts here. If anything..so far Seun has shown that he wants nairaland members to stay by replying politely and not get angry and block the IP address of anybody who complains.

He has allowed this thread to exist for an open debate, he can decide to removed this thread and ban some of you wanting to leave and there is nothing anybody will do about it, you will not even have the opportunity to campaign for delete button.
Nairaland General › Re: OK, SEUN How Do I Close My Nairaland Account by justwise(m): 8:19am On Jun 08, 2013
bobthebuilder99: So I take it my assumption was wrong.

Good luck surviving in the "first mover" bubble you are enjoying at present. For every person that complains openly, there are hundreds that are upset that and don't complain. Take your users for granted and you will end up like every other internet pioneer that that gets crushed when they CREATE the need for a better competitor. You should look up a company called Xerox and what happened to them when their patent ran out.

BTW, Seun was saying earlier that he will do things when Facebook does them. Facebook has ALWAYS had a delete account feature. Anyway, Facebook's stock has been doing HORRIBLY since its IPO. You should be following companies like Apple and Google that are actually on a long term upward trend. I can't be the only one that remembers Myspace, Friendster, etc. wink

This website is starting to remind me of the almighty Digg, that is now a skeleton and has been replaced by Reddit.
I really can not help but wonder if you really read through posts before letting yourself down. How will putting up delete button help nairaland grow and pleases members? Which members? Those that deleted their account and left?

Reading through your rant and few others like you its clear that you people just like ranting for the sake of it, you said facebook has delete button and it share has gone down, so you want Seun to implement delete button so that members will leave and companies will stop placing Ads here?
Nairaland General › Re: OK, SEUN How Do I Close My Nairaland Account by justwise(m): 6:55am On Jun 08, 2013
bobthebuilder99: It is NOT a non-issue.

Refusing to allow someone to delete their comments, posts, and profiles (especially when personal information is involved) is highly inappropriate and unethical.

This is just basic stuff. No one should have to explain this to you like you are a child....
Its a non-issue and this your post proves it, nobody stops you from deleting your post or comment, nobody stops you from removing any personal info in any of your post, its even more ridiculous for anybody to put their personal info in a public forum like this.

Its your responsibility to edit your post using Modify button and after that you stop posting and log-off if you are tired of nairaland.

The person who started this thread ( skyone) on Jul 18, 2012 crying about his privacy and all that, he was still posting here till 3:19pm On Apr 10, 2013, this is almost a year since he started moaning about his privacy and how nairaland chained him to his keyboard.

fyneboi79 used nairaland to advertise his property business here https://www.nairaland.com/1289803/4-un#15939278 free of charger and the last time i checked he is still here posting. Why not log-out quietly and leave the way you came? Why crying about leaving and refuses to leave?

The owner of the site is not ready to implement certain function at the moment and if you not happy with that then remove your personal info and say goodbye to nairaland.
