Ms Dee: My mind is made up on the documents I'm to use for my visa application:transcript n statement f result, waec, bank statement(dad's),birth certificate bearing our names, letter of spnsorship and cas statement.
Buh drez a clause:how do I apply for visa. Just went to d website and got more confused. What are the correct steps? Do I apply online, submit n print, den book appointment or what? Please justwise help a lone sister here.future don,dharkchild,honey86,don xavier, ikcbn, etc,I know all of u oo. Please help me
Apply online, follow the steps in this link http://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/applynow.aspx or search for Visa4UK.

When you submit online they will send you an email for next step to take. You will still need to print out a copy of the online form and sign it before taking it to submitted.

wip7: Boss, will u be traveling to HK soon? pls and pls try to visit KOWLOON city or CASTLE PEAK cos they have got great cuisines and flawless chiks(babes)....waow u will love the roasted pigeon and snake wine, you may also have sashimi and snake soup...its the bomb. When are you coming?
I will not be visiting HK any soon, the family member i visited then has concluded her 3 yrs assignment and returned back to Nigeria. You could try R66 Revolving Restaurant its in Hopewell Centre, 183 Queens Road East, at 62th floor of that massive building, if tell you more i will spoil the surprise for you but give it a go and experience it yourself.

I visited their madame tussauds and Disney Land, you can also try their ferry tour package, you book for 2hrs journey and eat as much as you want, enjoy live music throughout the journey.

samee72: @justwise yeah same place 36 Elegant Terrance but not same lady we both left in 2008, i'm considering going back there and probably this time stay there but i need to know how to go about it, at the time i went my friend whom i stayed with was the one who processed my visa from Hong Kong but now things have change one has to go to the chinese embassy
Yes that is true because the family memeber i visited was posted to HK in 2008, probably replaced the lady you went to see.

wip7: I think is easy via the Chinese embassy provided you provide IV letter. I was at Kowloon last year for visiting a company, it takes 4 days for the Chinese embassy to process my Visa (single entry). The company sent me another IV with multiple entry request from the embassy and one year validity. I just dropped my application at the Chinese embassy and they asked me to come back after 2days and i paid 55USD multiple entry. I will be heading down there from 28 this month. So i advise you go via the Chinese embassy and my sticker say Visa type F (HKSAR).
You are 100%, that was how i got my visa at Chinese embassy in Manchester though with Nigerian passport it took them 15 working days to issue me a visa, cost me 15 pounds then. EU and other country's passport holder get it in 2days or less.

samee72: Pls if you live in Hong Kong, share information on how Nigerians can come to Hong Kong, get visas and work there
You can get Hong Kong visa at Chinese embassy, HK is a very beautiful country but very very expensive city to live in, there are Nigerians there but a lot of them are into business, buying from China and selling in HK, you will need a visa to travel from HK to China, just about an hr journey.

Nigerians own churches there full of HK women, some of them got Nigerian husbands. They have a particular popular shopping mall there, its full of Nigerians, Indians, Pakistanis. Is like walking into Alaba market. At the same time police round up African immigrants there on daily bases

raised2glory: Justwise, Have been to South Africa. My temporary residence permit just expired last year November. I paid repatriation fee and paid CTI education fee roughly 1.3m for my diploma.
All sort of cost of living were on the high side. So am not new to the life over there.... Infact thats one of the reason why am here seeking a way out. the whole thing drained me. Just telling u so u can see that am not a newbie to travel abroad. i can send you visuals if you want...
No matter how well you have traveled, if you don't have money and appropriate paper that will allow you to settle in that country without restriction then you are in for a rough ride.

raised2glory: I probably dig your point. But come to think of it; I had a friend who am better of, but on securing the admission, he rally round and enter Finland. He's doing well now. So for me, I believe its about being determined, I probably wouldnt have made it this far without being so determined to study there.
You can't use another person's situation as a benchmark only if both of you are given equal resource, people don't always tell you the whole story when they left Nigeria until you travel to meet them and have first hand experience.

As you are determined to go on, i can only wish you the very best of luck.

raised2glory: @Justwise, abeg no see am like that.

What am needing from you is your experience with this kinda job. I so much wanted this to work but there was no other ways round it other than the lodgment thing.

Pls help me out and let me know if i should stop this process as am a bit skeptical.......
I don't really want to see myself discouraging people making a decision as important as this, but one thing you need to ask yourself though is this...if you are not financially ready to study in Finland, how are you going to cope without money if you managed to scale through visa huddle?
Travel › Re: Main Reasons Many Are Refused Visas by justwise(mod): 11:46am On Jun 02, 2013
raised2glory: @ Justwise, pls i recently got admitted into a University in Finland.
As is the practice they are asking 1.5m be deposited into my own personal account.

To be candid, i can afford this as am not rich and no family members are willing to help as much, you know what I mean? So after talking to my travel agent, we agreed on using all this "money lodgement over the network thing". I mean a situation whereby money is transferred into my account and some transactions are also added to my account to give it some credibility.

I just wanna know the work-ability of this process. I wont mind if you can allow me to talk to you over the phone so I can present my problems from a clearer angle.

Thanks for your anticipated answers.
Since you are dealing with an agent already there is no need for my input. Let him do the job you are paying him for.

fubbyy: nice 1 bro, but why haven't I seen a super rich usa returnee before? not that they don't exist but they are rare unlike their european counterparts who's blowing money up and down here in ph, does that mean getting rich in america is hard?

No the reason is simple, you are not safe in Nigeria if you came back with your money, is either you are kidnapped or killed by armed rubbers. They rather remain in US where they can enjoy their money with little fear of kidnappers or robbed at the bank.
Christianity Etc › Re: How Long You Pray - Does It Really Matter? by justwise(m): 11:35am On Jun 02, 2013
It makes no difference how long you spent praying, what matters is the heart that is praying and God.

You can spend yrs on your knees with a wicked mind praying, it will not fool God, he sees your heart.

If the length of time we spent praying matters Nigeria will be heaven on earth

Originalsly: Your cousin is pretty much telling you the truth. If uou have the same attitude then you can expect the same kind of experiences or even worse.Freedom is no different than it is in Naija. There is no place that you can't go....but then there are places that you would choose not to go...in Naija because of tribe...in the US because of race. On point 3...you just can't talk to people anyhow period. It depends on the girl you speak to anyhow...she may most likely shout you down or get her peeps to give you a beat down..or if she decides to call the police only Heaven knows how many charges you would be facing but you would be locked up....and if felony charges....deported after serving sentence....just like that.America is no bed of roses and has many laws...which they enforce...and no oga at d top is above the law. Look well before you leap or you end up stranded like so many others...homeless or almost homeless.
If all that is the only problem in US will you pack your things i go back to Nigeria?

Ms Dee: My transcript and statement of result
My waec result(I don't know why I'm submitting this shaa)
My bank statemnt n birth certificate(the statement is my dad's)
Daz all I know oooo. Read something on attestatation of results and all that on former posts.pls advise if there's any other thing I need,do I need to submit the reference letters I used in gaining admission? Or any other thing cos I still don't want to believe just the three I listed above wuld suffice, why den are people denied visas? huh
The rule is simple, submit only those documents listed in your CAS.

Then, the bank statement (birth certificate if you are using your parents bank statement)

Reference letter is not needed. You can add your CAS letter but the most important thing in that CAS is the number which you will enter some where in the visa application form.

If you don't believe that those documents are enough then good, you can submit as many documents as you want.

fubbyy: My cousin is living in the usa for about 6 years now and I'm planning to travel to usa after my nysc next year but the stories coming from him is not encouraging at all

Anytime we have a chat all he tells me is how much he miss and wish coming back to nigeria, he said life in the usa is not what they seems to be,he advice me to stay back since I'm already sure of a good job after service

These are his complains

1... Everybody minds his/her own business unlike naija where you mingle and make friends easily, therefore he's more lonely there than nigeria

2.... He's not as free as he is in nigeria, freedom in the usa is limited while naija freedom is unlimited

3... He get girls easily in nigeria,in nigeria he talk to a girl anywhere, inside bus, church, street, class, market,in the usa you can't just stop a girl anyhow and talk to her,if you do you might get arrested for a sexual harassment

4... You can work and make money but you hardly get rich,he asked me a question which I consider as a fact, he asked me if I've ever seen an american returnee whom is rich, which I've never seen
ETC....

Sometimes I just feel like this guy is just discouraging me,is he?
Your cousin is a kid and talking nonsenses, you can make friends in USA, mingle freely if you have time, just like in Nigeria, the true meaning of freedom exist in USA, what freedom do you have in Nigeria that is lacking in US?

Reason number 4 is even more ridiculous, so approaching a girl on the street with no respect is better?

There is no sense in all the garbage he told you.

If its all bad in US then ask him to come back to Nigeria to enjoy all he is missing.

Respect!!!
spikes C: It will apply, they'll use that exchange rate for your bank statement.
If it really matters to you, you can change it to Pounds and use a domiciliary account
In addition to what spikes C said already, you need to complete the form online, saved and submit it online AND printout a copy, signed it and take it together with other documents to VFS for submission

Anybody with opposite view is Gay? My backside is written Exit Only, that is my choice, if somebody else decided to use his backside for Entrance then its his decision, he does it in his private place. Its not your position to tell him what he does with his backside.

Why are we complaining about the activities of Boko Haram? They want to force everybody to adopt their believe, shara law, no western Education and they went ahead killing people because of it.

This is exactly what some of you calling for Gay people to be killed or jailed are doing.
