phemobay: thanks I really appreciate u all, let others share their idea on dis, because so many people ar doing it dis way and it works... mor post on dis issue please

If you knew many people who have done it and get away with it then why are you here asking us? Why not get on with it? When you get refused you claimed to have submitted all 'necessary' documents.
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(mod): 7:48am On Apr 27, 2013
superior1: I have said nothing to encourage such.I am only saying what i know from professional experience.

I doubt if so many people are really doing it like you suggested. The problem arises when they ask you to reprint and bring a new statement and there is no money to show besides why approach the embassy for visa when you cant afford the fund needed for the journey huh.
Bank do corporate with the embassy to verify the bank statement, UKBA last year started putting up list of banks around the world who refuses to corporate and those banks got blacklisted, no Nigerian bank made the list yet which means they do corporate during verification

ayobj: nope.
the issue is that they wish to seek the details of the account based on what was submitted.
example balance is N1,200,000.
they will ask what the salary ishuh
they will ask if there was transaction of 500,000 on 28th of february 2013,
they will ask for deposit and withdrawal details specifics.
basing the decision on withdrawals post submission will be most unfair.
bank also reserve the right to protect the applicants privacy.
what is there is cash lodgement after the submission.
will that not lead to a straight denial and a ban.huh?
What happen if they asked the bank about the last transaction?
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(mod): 11:02pm On Apr 26, 2013
ayobj: what i know that happens is that the embassy calls the bank and asks for the transaction history if it tallies with the statement submitted.
i saw this on a documentary of the UK border force.
it was in india and they called the bank to clarify the details on the account.
i once applied for a visa after picking up a loan of like 3 million.
was delayed for 4 weeks but it was granted for the 4 of the applicants.my wife and family.
the funds had depleted by the time the visa was granted.
cant say for sure though if they ask for the current balance
Which means if the money is withdrown the embassy will know because the last transaction in the bank statement submitted to the embassy will not be the same the record in the bank

superior1: Yeah. Surprised??, this wasn't the first time i raised this fact to you

https://www.nairaland.com/823855/general-uk-visa-enquiries-part/98#15008663
You keep referring to this link, withdrawing the money after you have submitted is a bad practice, we should not be encouraging this here.if the embassy called you for an interview and required that you come with a fresh bank statement then you are in for a tough one. Whether the bank give away the bank balance to the embassy or not, the embassy have a way of going around it.

shakarababie: @vicjustice @justwise. Thanks guys got my uk student visa today. Thanks for your advice. It's really appreciated
@phemobay to the best of my knowledge the embassy doesn't ask the bank for the accounts available balance. After I printed out my statement. My dad used part of the money In his account and I got my visa regardless. I was worried and my dads bank manager said a bank can't give out such confidential details. But to be on d safe side, if you can replace the money. You should. Hope that helps. smiley
Congratulations

osaass: Well this made me chuckle. I know you are well vast in travel issues, but believe me I definitely know I have been to more countries and met more important persons more than you can ever imagine.
That said there is currently a topic on fp where a nairalander is dancing with an animal. Have you seen it? Please talk to your fellow mods. This is double standards here. You are either in denial or being mischievous on this one. If this topic is not good enough then 70% of fp topics in the last week is not.
Because you have dry sense of humor does not mean everybody does, that topic in front page is there for fun, people who don't take life too seriously will have a laugh and see it for what its. Its for comic relief and people spend time reading other people's funny comments about the thread.

I'm surprised that somebody who claimed to have traveled around alot sees this thread as educative and uplifting, this sort of comment can only come from a village farmer with no travel history.
Travel › Re: Please Help A Nairalander In China!!!! by justwise(mod): 12:46pm On Apr 26, 2013
osaass: So your definition of news worthy is trashy threads like tonto dike every move, and not something informative and educative and uplifting op and potentially several others in his shoes.

So you mean Nigerians don't live in china!! You need to leave the house more man.
You are really unbelievable, what is educative and uplifting in this? Are you for real?

What you called trashy is actually generating traffic and this one will not.

Talking about leaving the house more, i do that more than you and i know what goes on more than you do judging by your posts here today.
Travel › Re: Please Help A Nairalander In China!!!! by justwise(mod): 12:24pm On Apr 26, 2013
osaass: If this would not drag traffic to this site then I can bring up over 20 atrocious threads that made fp just in the past week alone.
China is fast becoming a global super power with the largest population and second biggest economy. It is the new travel destination for tourists and investors alike. There are hundreds and thousands of Nigerians and fellow Africans that are engulfed in a similar dilemma as op, and in the not distant future that number would quadruple. And they all go on the Internet searching for answers.
Any news in all you said there? Who will read it and go..wow!! really? Where is China located or so there are Nigerians there?

Bring 10 atrocities threads and it will make front page, that will generate traffic, this will not.

osaass: Irrespective of the duration of his stay, what he seeks there is sth he believes is not available in his home country and would add value to his life. That for me means greener pastures.

I wonder why some peeps are so critical when a jjc longs for sth naija!! If you read through the line of OP post, he wants to find a naija restaurant not only for the food but also as a channel to socialize and share with the experiences of peeps who are in same boat as him. He who wears the shoes knows how it hurts. This attribute is not perculiar to Nigerians. I see Brits, Aussies who newly immigrated asking exactly same questions, and their fellow citizens are too glad to help. But alas, naija our case different.
If you can't do without Nigerian food and Nigerian company for a month or 2 then stay in Nigeria, traveling is not for you.

You are someone with a respectable reputation here. However you have to admit you were wrong on this. Some peeps have already pointed out the flaws in your argument, but hey, I guess that's how life is.
What flaw?

Alhaji Abbey: .

Personal tax receipt from tax office I mean.ok justwise u mean I can't use the newly established business until its well maintained but for at least how many months or years?
Will you get the tax receipt as a business owner or as what? Your business is not matured enough to service as tie to Nigeria. Give your business a year to grow, document your business activities and see if you have made any profit to be spent on leisure trip.
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(mod): 11:08am On Apr 26, 2013
Alhaji Abbey: Ok but what of if I produce a personal tax receipt and am married with a kid
Personal tax receipt from where? Disclosing that your married with kids brings another dimension to it, that means you need to proof beyond every reasonable doubt that your trip to the UK will not affect your family back in Nigeria and you have enough left for them while you are away in the UK spending money on leisure.

Alhaji Abbey: Yes I ve a savings account but no business account yet
You getting a visa will be a tough one, if i were you i will allow the business grow, get business account, keep record of business activities, get end of the year tax paper then use those documents to apply for visa. At the moment you don't have any hard evidence to show that you have strong-tie-to-Nigeria.

Alhaji Abbey: Morning nairalanders,I no dat most people ve slept off wen I sent a message in yesterday night, pls good people of nairaland I need a quick response to dis b4 I make wrong decision, I applied for france business and visiting visa this year and I was refused twice,am now planning to apply to UK but d question now is that is it advisable to use that same passport that has 2france refusal stamp or I should declaire it lost and get another passport to use for the UK.

Secondly I used agent for the france visa and he possibly use a forge documents but I wasn't denied visa based on d forge documents dey said purpose of the visit is not reliable and he's not satisfy dat I will return to my country after d said visit and now am applying to UK myself with my original documents now, hope it won't affect my Uk application and hope the refusal stamp won't b a stain on my passport to get UK visa. Thanks
Use the same passport, they have your biometric details anyway. When applying for the UK visa don't tick no where you will be asked if you have been refused a visa to other countries before. Tick yes and explain (if asked to explain) why you were refused.

Having a refusal stamp in your passport is not a crime, but lying about it or trying to hide it is a crime.
