kofsy: Bigfrancis and justwise, pls let it go.
But i will like to say that, sometimes we the "jayjayCs" will like to talk to an experienced individual to put us through on a more personal platform. There, you will be able to ask the seemingly dumb questions and still get answers. Other newcomers will agree with me that, it's not every questions/difficulties/challenge we post here. The end i think justifies the means. If it will make the person reach their goal, there is nothing bad in it. I still remain a big fan of all the gurus in this house. Ytete, imperioux, francis et al. Keep up the good work. You are loved. XOXO
As a newcomer, asking that question openly here gives you a better chance because millions view this thread and their contributions are far better than that of one person in private.

There is nothing..absolutely nothing secret about student visa discussion. How will you know if you are being mislead by that person in private?

bigfrancis21: You've made your point but do you know that many people here who want rather private talks visit the profile of who they want to ask questions privately and they communicate via emails - the same type of communication you deem wrong? The owner of the website that instituted this means, was he daft enough when he did so? Or hasn't it ever struck you that most of the enquiries that get posted here are usually the ones the posters deem public? Now, by stopping someone from asking another person a private question, have you in anyway helped the person or instead plunged the person further down the drain of confusion?
Surely i'm aware that people communicate privately through nl email system, i can't stop people doing that and there is nothing i can do about that, i don't want such individual to discourage the sharing spirit that exist here by dropping their contact details for private chat. Those are mostly the selfish type and people who are looking for dodgy way of doing things.

There is nothing about student visa that can not be said openly here. How i'm plunging that person's future down the drain while this forum is open for anybody to ask question openly here and get answers? This thread is one of the fastest growing thread in travel section for years now, we did not get here by taking discussion offline.

When people ask question openly here they stand a good chance of getting answers from more than one person and any wrong advice will be argued and corrected.

bigfrancis21: Now let me ask you, two days ago I dropped my email address for someone who wanted to ask me questions - the same email address I used in registering on NL and yet the same address that people contact me with through my profile, why did you hide the post? Since it is very clear that I am not an agent neither do I ever advertise anything on nairaland yet you deemed it worthy to remove my email, why did you hide my post?
Yes i hide that post because we encourage people to keep discussion open here, i can't stand it when people start dropping contact details for some private chat while they read others contribution here openly.

If everybody take their discussion offline this thread will not grow and there will be nothing to read.

Any reason why the email address was deleted?
Removed the email while i run a check on it to make sure its not linked to any agency website or stuff, now that is done the email and your post is reinstated

GSI Blog: The highlighted parts are not true? Really? If you've ever applied for a UK student visa before, when was that? I'm not talking about what was applicable even 6 month ago!!! I've got my statistics! About who owns an account, I expect you to know that whoever your sponsor is (i.e. self, parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, government, NGOs, you name it), determines the name in your account statement(s). Well if you don't, sorry about the slip...most of the applicants I interact with are all self-sponsored including myself and I believe there are many more like us out there.
Again the bolded part is wrong, you can't use your brother, sister or your uncle's bank account neither can they sponsor you, they can only transfer the money into your bank account. I don't think you know a lot about the UK student visa rules.

Nigerians sha we only care about the people who agree with us no matter what the issue or circumstance may be. Then you turn around and say the witches or the devil is chasing. It is good to go after your dream but being prepared is very important. People have done what you are planning to do and they have succeeded yes but the reality is, the govt have closed or planning to close the different loop holes that you maybe thinking of exploiting. Anyway no one fails in Mr. experience's class everyone graduates grin

Travel › Re: Do I Really Need Malaria Drugs When Traveling To Nigeria? by justwise(mod): 10:32am On Apr 23, 2013
GeorgiaPeach84: Hey folks.

I'm an African-American traveling to Nigeria sometime this year and need to know the deal.
My life revolves around eating holistic and organic foods and I NEVER take pharmacy drugs.
I'm know the US media is forever presenting false information about the African continent
and I don't know if Malaria is something that is actually an issue to be concerned about.

If Malaria is a valid travel concern, are there any natural/holistic alternatives to taking Malaria pills?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.
You really need to see your doctor/GP and get some medication before traveling, not just malaria, change of environment will hit your system, water, food, weather etc. You take those medications prescribed by your doctor to help your body adopt to the new environment. Forget about what you read or heard in the media, this is real.

Enjoy your stay in Nigeria

habibti: @Nelson Nayo, I disagree with u, I went to vfs ten days after my biometrics and I was given my french visa ,I applied for one week holiday and I was given 3months multiple entry. Funny enough, my friend who applied the same day with me was called 5days after and was rejected, personally, I believe say everything NA GOD favor. Rule number one; don't tell people about your travel plans when applying and then pray and FAST, it works like MAGIC
Why?

Travel › Re: Can I Use More Than 1 Bank Statements To Apply For A UK Student Visa? by justwise(mod): 7:05pm On Apr 22, 2013
GSI Blog: Yes You Can!!!

When it comes to applying for your UK Student visas (either Tier 4 child or adult), you have to have in mind that you must score a wooping 40 points from accessing your documents if your visa must be approved. Anything less will result in your visa application getting DENIED, even a score of 39/40 points!!!! 30 points is for having a valid sponsor as recognized by the UKBA - this is very easy to score! All you need to do in other to score these 30 points, is to apply to a school for admission and ensure that you get an offer which is usually confirmed with the issuance of a CAS number. Once you have this, the next step is how to score your remaining 10 points.

10 points is for demonstrating that you have access to funds that can support you throughout your duration of studies. Now, this is where a lot of visa applicants get DENIED their application specifically because of one or more of the following reasons:
1. Fake bank statement - fictitious bank accounts that do not exist. Paying someone to formulate and print a bank statement for you is as delicate as giving a gun to a lunatic to keep for you...be very careful!!!
2. Excessive Cash lodgement in your bank account - the UK embassy wants to see a progressive building of your account balance. The final amount that will be reported in your statement is expected to be the minimum balance in your bank account for at least 28 days before your visa application. If you deposit a large sum of cash into your bank account just to meet the required amount for your studies, you're most likely not to get the 10 points which will result in you visa being denied.

The main question now is, instead of using any of the above methods which may likely fail you, what then do you do? huh huh huh huh
QQQQQ - Can you use more than ONE Bank Account statement to show your financial capability?

AAAAA - Yes you can, providing they are all in your name. The currency is of no importance since the UKBA has the ability to convert the currency into GBP values using the exchange rate in real-time. They only want to know that you are capable of supporting yourself without the need to resort to public funds, such as unemployment benefit, housing benefit and other welfare support benefits available to UK ctizens only.
The highlighted parts are not true.

Excessive Cash lodgement got nothing to do with student visa and the account doesn't have to be in your name, an applicant can use his or her parent's bank statement.
You once closed this thread... If not because i begged you to re-open it.. And I got banned by another moderator for giving away free information...
Yes i closed it then because of selfish attitude of some contributors here, why do people want to take discussions offline? This forum is for people to share ideas openly and other will read and learn but some dodgy characters will always want private chat while they are happy to get ideas freely here.

If other Mods banned you what does that got to do with me? Are you insane?
