Russia deploys plenty of propaganda, it's their main tool. Russia adopted the USSR war strategyof:

- Lying about its military objectives
- Lying about the military objectives of the enemy
- Lying about the strength of the enemy
- Falsifying its losses and the losses of the enemy

How do we know this? There's a USSR version of the Battle of Cuito Cuanavale, according to their version; the SADF lost 100s of tanks, arty and aircraft while suffering 1000s of casualties WHEN in actuality there was never even that amount of armour and personnel deployed in the first place. ...and their version also states that the SADF's objective was to capture the whole of Angola and the FLAPLA with Soviet coordination managed to stop it against all odds.

So take whatever the Russian media says with a pinch of salt, in all honesty, their military campaign was a short-fall of their "advertised" military capability.

NB: I will not bother talking about their tactical shortcomings, they paraded them for the whole world to see.
All governments lie and falsify information.

While it is true that the Russians have shown many shortcomings in this war, it is still very true that the Ukrainians have been caught lying way more than the Russians, even going as far as using Video game footages as Russian losses.

The damage the Ukrainian military has suffered in this campaign has been immense, the country will lose the entire Donbass region in this war, surely.

If 10 years ago someone could have said Nigeria would be building such ships in less than a decade, no one could have believed them.

It's a job well done to the shipbuilding industry in Nigeria.
It was always possible, the problems we had in the past was a lack of government patronage. Now, government at different levels see the need to invest in local products, hence we continue to see present growth in the industry.

My prediction is that in 10 years, Nigeria would be building first class ships.

Now you've revealed your bias. Before I saw this statement I was wondering how someone as smart as you will fall to cheap Russian propaganda.

When Putin said there were no plans to invade Ukraine less than a week before the invasion while Biden said he was sure there would be an invasion very soon. I'm sure you believed Putin not Biden.

Western intelligence were right on the date and time of the commencement of the invasion. It was shifted by two days after it was revealed but still happened at the predicted time.

America predicted that the main objective was to capture kiev and split the state. What happened after that, Russia tried to cut off kiev by attacking from belarus and trying to sieze Hostomel airport so they can insert troops from the southern side and capture kiev quickly.

When you want to seize a capital city, one of the main objectives is to capture the main airport so that you can create an airbridge and insert troops. America did the same thing in Baghdad on the first day of the invasion.

Russia had no business attacking from Belarus or seizing Hostomel airport if the capture of Kiev wasn't the plan.

Putin tried to move via a convoy, but logistical problems and effective defense coordination prevents a takeover of Kiev to this day.

As attacking Kiev wasn't going to plan. Ukraine moved more troops to the east.

Russia military faces stalls in Ukraine for two reasons. Ukraine's infantry is better coordinated. Russia does not have the air superiority to conduct close air support operations because of high tech short range missiles possessed by Ukraine. This gives Ukraine a chance to fly anti tank drones and engage the Russian infantry on ground.

Putin is trying to scale down because of how difficult things have become not that he didn't plan to take Kiev in the beginning.

Politically Russia will win because of one thing, the war is on Ukraine's turf and Ukraine will surely give in to Ukraine's demands. But militarily, Russia have failed in the invasion of Ukraine.

Coming to what you said about the non contested environment in iraq, do you know that the Iraqi Air Force was the largest and most modern airforce in the middle east before operations Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom?
There were at least 2 Russian military build ups on the Ukraine border, it was obvious that the Russians will attack Ukraine, giving Ukraine reluctance to implement MINSK agreements. You don't need to be an intelligence officer to realize that.

Why would I believe Biden, the US has invaded nearly 43 countries in the last 50 years. Their last military invasions in Afghanistan and Iraq ended in spectacular military failures.

The primary reason for invading Ukraine is to ensure the historical borders of the 2 independent Donbass states were maintained. This has been the main bone of contention since the last 8 years.

The Russians seized Hostomel on the very first day of the war, and have defended it ever since, they could have easily created an air bridge if they wanted to, and inserted more troops, after all, the Russian military has a strength of 1 million troops. However they did not.

Granted, the Ukrainians have coordinated themselves better after the initial days of the attack, but the Russians are steadily advancing in the east, Mariupol has been all but taken. Nikoleav and Odessa would be next.

The TB2 drone has been very inactive in the war in Ukraine, it has mainly been used as a propaganda tool. Through-out the duration of this war, we've seen at most 5 publicly released TB2 Videos, the most impressive action by the TB2 been the attack of the Kherson air base.

The main threat Russian air assets face in Ukraine are from MANPADS.

With regards to Air superiority, Russian jets have been flying over 300 sorties a day in Ukraine. If that's not Air Superiority, I don't know what is.

Iraq had a large Air Force, the same way Libya had a large Air Force. Numbers on a piece of paper count for nothing when 90% of your fighter jets are unserviceable.

Iraq was also a large flat desert, perfect for air operations, Ukraine is not the same.

What do you think about his analysis, I'll say mine after you.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu made an official statement on the progress of the special operation in Ukraine.

The main thing:

▪️The main tasks of the first stage of the special military operation in Ukraine have been completed.

▪️The Ukrainian army suffered significant damage, which allows us to focus our efforts on achieving the main goal - the liberation of Donbass.

▪️Over the past 2 weeks, about 600 mercenaries have been destroyed in Ukraine, more than 500 have left the country.

▪️Moscow is monitoring the statements of the leaders of the NATO countries on the supply of aircraft and air defense systems to Ukraine, and if these plans are implemented, they will respond adequately.

This guy that loves to post terrorist content from Nigeria on his Twitter handle would claim ignorance of the massive gains the Nigerian military is making against ISWAP.

The day the Nigerian army would lose 1 pick-up truck to ISWAP you would see him masturbating and blowing the trumpet of the terrorist like their ever faithful lap dog.

Objectivity........ Really?

The US & NATO attacked Iraq with 309,000 troops in an almost non-contested environment, while you think 130,000 Russian soldiers are supposed to take over all of Ukraine.

The war in Ukraine has definitely shown that Ummaned Combat Air Systems are a critical component in modern warfare, from the Russian usage of UCAVs, to Ukraine use of UCAV against Russian targets, especially the correction of Artillery fire from a distance of 50km against Russian helicopters in Kherson air base.

The Nigerian military's investment in UCAV will definitely proof to be the best military decision we have taken in recent years.

Hopefully in the near future, we will have Nigerian companies develop UCAVs.

If the Ukrainian ability to wage war has been severely degraded like you claim, the Russians would be flying riot over Kyiv and eastern Ukraine, not lobbing stand off munitions from hundreds of miles away and employing artillery strike and digging in on the ground.
It became clear after the first week that they’ll bleed so much trying to oust zelensky. This new goal they claim to achieve is just an off ramp.

You can’t lose a war if you keep changing your goals.

Russia has already disturbed the water, it would be in their best interest to finish this now, press zelensky and force him to the table to completely demilitarize and agree to neutrality. (IMHO)
I don't think Russia's military objective was to take Kiev.

The lack of implementation of the MINSK agreement was the primary reason for this military operation in Ukraine.

If the Russians wanted to take Kiev, they would have sent more than 130k troops, this is a fact.

With the intensity of military operations in the last month, it seems pretty obvious that securing eastern Ukraine, degrading the Ukrainian military were the primary objectives.

Ukraine has received a lot of help, this is no Iraq or Afghanistan, all NATO countries including Japan, Australia and a couple countries in Asia have given Ukraine military assistance. Offcourse in such a situation the Russians would expect to meet major resistance.

Today the Russians have entered another city, Slavutych, Kyiv region.

This is what the current military map looks like.

"Russia continues to advance in Ukraine. If you look at the purple circle on the far right side of the map (this is the western border of Donetsk), the Russian forces and their LDNR allies are encircling the largest remnant of Ukraine’s army."

Also more than 60 Ukranian soldiers mostly officers surrendered. Occupied by the Russian military ZKP APU in the Kiev region. More than 60 Ukrainian soldiers surrendered in this area.

it just common sense that an army will replenish... As far as Russia is concerned they ve won their objectives
I won't say all Russian objectives have been achieved, but it's clear that the ability for the Ukrainian military to wage war has been severely degraded.

The Donbass territories would have to be cleared for full military objectives to be met.

This one Bayraktar TB2 left in their inventory is really doing miracles in Ukraine... grin
As at today, the An-124 heavy transport aircraft of the Ukrainian company Antonov State Enterprise returned to Europe, bringing with it new Turkish Bayraktar TB2 UAVs for the needs of the Ukrainian army.

The An-124 did not fly directly to Ukraine, landing in Polish Zheshov - the city is used as one of the main hubs for the supply of equipment for the needs of Kyiv.

So it's possible that previously destroyed stock is only been replaced.

This is day 30 and since 10 days the Russian army offensive appears to be stalled. In other words this is not going according to their plan because you do not plan an war of attrition.

Kiev is not encircled
Weapons reach UKR troops from the western border
UKR command and control still effective
Moral of the population is not broken
Air Superiority?? If they would have they would use fighter bombers and not Cruise Missiles at this point.

It was not in favor for the Russian army to attack Ukraine from 4 directions. The RU Forces are dispersed now, they lack manpower and logistics to advance and take URK key cities (except Mariupol) or dominate contested areas.

Reminds me of the wars in former Yugoslavia. This can go on for months.
Russian objective in Ukraine was primarily to recognize the territorial claims of the 2 Donbass Republics, demilitarize and de-nazify the country.

In a month of war, the achievements of the Russian military are outlined below.

❗Over the month, the losses of Ukrainian troops amounted to about 30 thousand people, including more than 14 thousand irretrievable and about 16 thousand sanitary.

The RF Armed Forces defeated 16 main military airfields from which Ukrainian aviation carried out combat sorties, destroyed 39 arsenals, where up to 70% of all stocks of Ukrainian military equipment were stored.

Of the 2,416 tanks and other combat armored vehicles that were in service with the Ukrainian army as of February 24, 1,587 were destroyed.

Out of 152 military aircraft, 112 were destroyed, out of 149 helicopters - 75 destroyed, out of 36 Bayraktar TB2 drones, 35 were destroyed.

Ukrainian air force and air defense system have been almost completely destroyed, the country's Navy has ceased to exist.

In terms of military objectives, I think their operations are going on pretty well.

So with regards to de-militarization, the Ukrainian Navy no longer exists, the Air Force and Air Defense units have lost 70% of their manpower. The Ukrainian army has lost 60% of their Tanks and Armoured vehicles.

In terms of De- Nazification you really can't kill an ideology.

With regards to the Donbass territories 93% of LPR territory liberated and 54% of DPR liberated.

Minsk Agreement almost entirely militarily enforced.

If Russia wanted to take all of Ukraine, they would not invade with only 130k troops.

Two more observation I've made.

The so called Special Forces Vehicles, Russia has quite a number of them, seem to all be missing in action.

At the beginning of this war, many commentators, especially American, British and Western ones compared this conflict to America's war in Iraq and Afghanistan. I keep wondering, I didn't see Iraq or the Taliban fielding NLAWs and Javelins, so what basis are the conflicts similar?

Similar vehicles like these.

But one surprising observations i made from watching Twitter videos is that the Russians move their tracked vehicles mostly on roads making their operations very predictable for Ukrainian ATGM squads. Are they avoiding the dirt because the spring season that makes the ice melt and the ground too muddy? Is it because of they fear their logistics cannot follow? I wonder why they do not advance more often into enemy territory off road to gain more element of surprise.
I think after the first 7 days of the war, the Russians changed tactics. Instead of driving in long columns they have switched to smaller BTG sized movements.

I also notice they have reduced the use of Frontline aviation, instead favouring rocket assisted artillery strikes and cruise missiles.

Agree with everything except those 2 points - you should elaborate a bit.
From the war in Ukraine and our own operations in Nigeria. I have noticed our tracked vehicles are better in handling the terrain with less frequent break-downs.

They also handle mud and bad roads much better than wheeled vehicles.

From the war in Ukraine, we constantly see Ukrainian vehicles on tarred road and less on the dirt. The reverse is the case with Russian who deploy large number of tracked vehicles compared to wheels.

My thoughts so far from the war in Ukraine from an African perspective.

- UCAV and Autonomous Air Systems are the future of warfare. As we can see, but Ukraine and Russia have used UCAVs to devastating effects.

- African countries need to invest in man portable ATGMs, and far more emphasis should be put in training small squads instead of large brigade level exercises.

- APCs are overated, apart from small arms fire, they provide as much protection level as a Toyota Hilux.

- Tracked Vehicles are more important than wheeled vehicles.

- African countries need to invest in Standoff munitions.

While the Ukrainians are defending themselves admirably, they are no match for the Russian military.

While the Russian military has paid on heavy price on the loss of equipment, they have continued to make significant advances on multiple fronts, more especially in the south of Ukraine.
