Emmanuel TV played a fast one on me here. I posted this prophecy (above) when it was made way back in July 2010 hoping to confirm it whenever it happens. However, the broadcast of Emmanuel TV in recent times have been less than truthful since events started manifesting in the Arab world. Since the beginning of this week, they have been playing edited versions of this prophecy and making it appear accurate, whereas it was not. For instance, the part where TB Joshua said the longest serving African military ruler should pray against cancer was removed. Also removed as well was where he said the leader will be removed before the end of 2010. My confidence in Emmanuel TV has waned considerably. |
I had already foreseen this counter-attack happening with the way Buhari's campaign train was attacked in Bayelsa last December and this is very unhealthy for our democracy. It was bad for Jonathan not to have issued any statement condemning the attack on Buhari a few weeks back and Buhari will also lose my respect if he does not come out to condemn this act of thuggery in Nassarawa. The Bayelsa State Government made a silly statement to the effect that Buhari did not inform it of his coming, and by my own submission, it means they are not obliged to provide him with any security. These kinds of action will further balkanise this country . And to those who think such acts are a measure of popularity, have you never heard of rent-a-crowd in Nigeria? I mean you can hire a crowd to do anything you want if you are willing to pay. It has nothing to do with popularity. Babangida, Abacha and Turai have all hired crowds to plead their causes at one time or the other. |
I hope it's not the governors sponsoring this particular protest. When the National Assembly killed the Freedom of Infomation Bill to the annoyance of Nigerians, there was no protest. When the legislators approved fat allowances for themselves, there was no protest. When the National Assembly prevented the amendment of the Assets Declaration clause to allow the public access the forms submitted by our elected officials, there was no protest. And now, the National Assembly decided to pull the rug from under the governors' feet, all hell broke loose. Remember the governors met only yesterday. I don't believe in coincidences. FG Flays Use of Naija in Place of Nigeria •Set for showdown with entertainment, advertising and corporate worlds From Paul Obi in Abuja, 11.15.2010 This Day newspaper, November 15, 2010. The Federal Government yesterday in Abuja condemned in strong terms the use of Naija in place of Nigeria, saying such usage is very uncharitable and unpatriotic. Minister of Information and Communication, Prof. Dora Akunyili, made the remarks while receiving the participants of Heir Apparent Reality Show in her office. Akunyili, who frowned at the continuous misrepresentation of the country's official name in place of a corrupt version said: "It is very offensive to call Nigeria 'Naija'. We are making plans to write companies to stop using the word Naija. I have heard that name Naija in adverts. I want them to go back and remove that word. "If anybody says this is Naija, ask the person, 'Where is Naija?' We have to stop this word because it is catching up with the young. If we don't put a stop to its usage now, it will continue to project us wrongly," she said. The Minister's condemnation was prompted by a sentence in the presentation of the visiting group where 'our world is Naija' was inserted. Akunyili, who fervently spoke against the use of the word, ordered that the sentence be removed from the programme and change to 'our world is Nigeria'. The word, popularly used by musicians, artistes, advert managers and corporate companies, is believed to be the short form of Nigeria and more trendy to be used by the younger generation. Though no official condemnation of the word has been made, several reports have warned of the consequence of the usage of such words among the youth. Earlier, the Minister commended the group for what she called patriotic creativity in their new jingos, saying: "This is the greatest success we have recorded in the rebranding Nigeria project". She further assured the participants that the ministry will ensure that its jingos on rebranding project are replaced with Heir Apparent jingos on rebranding once the correction on the Naija word is effected. Also speaking, Bonat Tagwi, who represented the Director General of National Orientation Agency (NOA), Dr Idi Farouk, sponsors of the reality show, said the programme is to replicate government's effort towards the young, whereby the ideals of leadership will be inculcated on them. |
I watched a part of the interview but could not stand the whole thing. I could not stand anyone kowtowing to IBB as I assumed Mo was going to and I felt a lot of revulsion watching the piece. (I hate IBB with a passion). I had also assumed it was the old one being re-aired (IBB had earlier been interviewed by Mo a few months back). I was particualrly anxious to know what he had to say when Mo asked him if he knew those he claimed were planning to overthrow MKO if he was installed and why he couldn't arrest them. He rambled on and on and gave no real answer. In the end, the guy's composure looks to me like that of someone on some addictive substance. |
It is now obvious that the IBB media crew is always busy spinning a new yarn every week just to discredit Jonathan. How long is this gonna last? |
GEJ's list of crimes against the Nigerian people keeps getting longer and is making me seriously uncomfortable. For a man who came in following popular agitation against the Turai regime, he has been a huge disappointment in standing up for the truth and rule of law. Here are some of the major failures of this young regime and we are sure more will come: 1.) Retaining and refusing to carry out the court-ordered investigation of the customs boss who has a case of forgery and examination fraud hanging over him 2.) Foot-dragging and refusing to prosecute the key actors who were involved in the Halliburton bribe scheme just like his predecessor. 3.) Refusing to call his wife to order after she insulted and embarrassed a sitting state governor in Okrika, Rivers State 4.) Ordering the purchase of 4 new aircraft even when many key sectors of the economy need serious attention 5.) Allowing the various excesses of his wife to go unchecked, for example, the rice distribution tragedy at Abuja International Conference Centre, shutdown of Abuja because she was launching an NGO, etc 6.) Not fulfilling his promise of evaluating the performance of his ministers and presenting a scorecard when he told them "to hit the ground running" after he appointed them earlier in the year. 7.) Unpresidential flip-flopping and condoning the illegal actions of the minority faction of the Ogun State House of Assembly for political reasons and refusing to provide police protection for them to sit ostensibly because he needs the support of Gbenga Daniel to pick the PDP ticket. 8.) Condoning the police disruption of the planned meeting of south east leaders and releasing the tame and insulting statement that he does not instruct the security agents on how to do their job. 9.) Unpresidential statement exonerating MEND from the October 1 bomb blasts 10.) For a leader continuously proclaiming his commitment to free and fair elections to surreptitiously insert an anti-democratic clause into the Electoral Act (whose only ground for review was to accommodate the timing of electoral activities to favour INEC) is not only selfish and hypocritical, it is actually dangerous. Sometimes I pity Jonathan's supporters as he continues to let them down and keeps making indefensible blunders no sooner than they have recovered from a previous one. I think it is obvious that GEJ is weak and indecisive. |
10 BASIC FACTS 1.) PDP espouses zoning and inserted it in its constitution. 2.) In its constitution, PDP did not specify the order of zoning, or the tenure of political office holders who benefit from zoning; it also did not specify whether it is between north and south, or between the 6 geo-political zones. 3.) Apart from 1999, the position of presidency in the PDP has always been contested for by aspirants from both north and south. The decision to allow only aspirants from the south in 1999 was obviously to assuage the region for the pains of June 12 and the death of MKO and does not represent a permanent rotational arrangement. 4.) The zoning of political offices in the PDP follows the geo-political regions. For example, from 1999 to 2003 when Obasanjo was president, his deputy was from north-east, the senate president was from south east, the house speaker was from north west and so on. When Yar'Adua came in, his vice was from south south, the senate president emerged from north central and the house speaker is from south west. 5.) The only way zoning could work legally is to practice it democratically in line with the country's constitution. The party may state its preference for the regions or zones that would produce the next candidate while allowing the members select through a democratic process, their flagbearers. Not by banning or stopping anyone from contesting as that would be absolutely illegal and against the spirit and letters of the country's constitution. 6.) The fear of the northern aspirants would have been non-existent if GEJ was not an incumbent. Their fear is solely because they could see loss staring at them in the face and need any weapon, fair and unfair, to stop GEJ. When Atiku was trying to contest against OBJ in 2003, no one stopped him on the basis of zoning. In fact, apart from the 1999 PDP primary elections, no aspirant has ever been prevented from contesting for the PDP presidential primaries on the basis of zoning. I expect northern aspirants who preach zoning to campaign to PDP delegates to vote for them because of zoning, not by trying to stop GEJ from contesting. 7.) Saraki should just keep quiet. He has shown clearly that he is a hypocrite. Preaching zoning at the national level while pushing for "a level-playing field for all aspirants from all zones" at the state level. 8.) IBB just a few months ago at the convocation of Madonna University campaigned for the removal of federal character from Nigeria's constitution so that we can select our best based on merit. Now with his ambition failing to take off, he has suddenly joined the campaign train for zoning. 9.) It is uncharitable for the northern PDP aspirants to suggest that, through the Obasanjo presidency, the south-south and south east have been well-compensated for the feeling of marginalization they suffered since independence. If the PDP must zone the presidency to a particular region, who has a better argument? The north which had political power for over 35 of Nigeria's 50 post-independence years? Or the south-east and south-south who enjoyed it for less than 2 years combined? 10.) The argument that there are no credible candidates contesting for PDP presidential ticket from the south means they support zoning is ludicrous. What if they have all decided to support GEJ? What if they just don't fancy their chances? Why did Rochas contest and got votes against Yar'Adua in 2007 if there was zoning? It was obvious that the PDP zoning approach is simply to anoint a preferred candidate and then mobilize delegates to vote for that preferred candidate. It was never to stop anyone from trying out their chances. |
@truly: This is the link to the story which you quoted on how Yar'Adua emerged PDP presidential candidate according to El-Rufai. I found it on NigeriaVillageSquare. I wasn't aware that it was published in ThisDay. http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/articles/nasir-el-rufai/umaru-yaradua-great-expectation-disappointing-outcome-updated-with-annexes.html |
For all the people that died as a result of the annulment of June 12 election, IBB will die a painful and shameful death! |
@ gadogado:Read tokotaya's post above for explanation on why Al-Mustapha's trial has been delayed this far. And to those who tried to justify Al-Mustapha's misdeeds by claiming he was following orders, I only need to point out an event in Nigeria's legal history to you. It was decided by a court of competent jurisdiction some years ago (in the case of a police orderly to a judge who shot and killed an innocent man claiming he was ordered to do so by the judge) that you are responsible for any action you carry out as a state official and that you are expected to refuse an illegal order. You simply cannot hide under the toga of "I am following orders" to perpetrate a crime and expect to walk away free. The best Jonathan can do to support the cause of justice in this matter is to let Al-Mustapha's trial be fast-tracked and let him pay for his crime. I am one of those who believe he is guilty and he should be made to pay for his crime, in full. |
When you do the crime, be prepared to do the time. Al-Mustapha was part of the Abacha killer squad and he deserves whatever fate befalls him. Many of his victims did not even have the opportunity of a trial before they were brutally murdered. |
I am in support of a total boycott of the shameless Dokpesi's AIT and Ray and Power. If the yeye man was prepared to sacrifice principles for filthy lucre, he does not deserve any respect from me. Anyone who associates with IBB is evil and if Mike Adenuga comes out to publicly support IBB (like Dokpesi did), I will dump my glo line immediately. |
Nigeria's constitution does not allow EFCC to stop anyone from contesting. Only the courts can do that. So, unless Waziri is able to secure a conviction against anyone before the political parties nominate candidates, she is just playing to the gallery. I bet she is fully aware of this but just wants to hug the headlines. |
For putting millions of Nigerian into misery during his 8 year rule, IB-bast**d will run mad before 2011. |
Homosexuality disgusts and nauseates me, but I would never join anyone to criminalize it. Just like eating certain foods irritates me, yet it is unfair to support the denial of anyone the right to eat whatever they choose. And all those who are threatening to unleash violence against these folks, is this what your Jesus would do? Meanwhile, what does anyone stand to lose by whatever orifice anyone chooses to penetrate within the confines of their homes? How is that any of your problems? What justification do we then have to condemn those northern states who sentence women to death for committing adultery? Aren't they also trying to define their own society's sexual norms? People should be allowed to express their sexuality once they don't deliberately do it to offend anyone's sensibilities. No one has a right to define anyone else's sexual preferences once the right of anyone is not being infringed upon and no one is being abused. |
@Exponental: It's ok but why a white man. promote blacks in wat u do.CAN ANYONE TELL ME THIS IS NOT RACISM? Why must you condemn her choice of male model just because of the color of his skin? |
Ramadan for me this year, will be an entirely nre experience as this will be my first outside Nigeria. I now live and work with the AU in Addis Ababa. It looks like it will be a good one as there are lots of muslims here and there is a big mosque beside my office (just returned from zuhr now).Hi javalove, I am also in Addis at the moment and would like to know whether there is any good Nigerian restaurant anywhere here. I and 4 of my colleagues are here for a 3-week training and we are getting really homesick after only one week here when we still have two more weeks to go. Please assist. Two of my colleagues are Muslims and I would ask them to link up with you. I am not. |
What if he drops dead? |
I have been reading about David Mark for over 20 years and he had never said any sensible thing, not even once. Remember he once declared Sergeants in the Army as being more intelligent than university graduates. |
Rubbish! when did Igbo gov say that GEJ could not be President because Yaradua was still sick or dead in Saudi Arabia.@Udezue: Find the link: http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=165258 Senate Urges President to Submit Vacation Letter •S’East Govs: He hasn’t breached the constitution From Sufuyan Ojeifo in Abuja and Christopher Isiguzo in Enugu, 01.28.2010 After two days of debate on the absence of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua from the country on health grounds for more than two months now, the Senate yesterday reached a decision: it asked the President to transmit a letter to the National Assembly, notifying it of his medical vacation, Meanwhile, governors of the five states in the South-east geopolitical zone rose from a one-day meeting yesterday in Enugu with a resolution that President Yar’Adua has not breached any constitution by being away from the country for more than two months as a result of ill-health. The governors dismissed the call for Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan to be made an Acting President as misplaced. In a six-point communiqué read to newsmen after their meeting at the Government House Enugu, Chairman of the forum and Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, the governors warned those commenting on the President’s long absence to avoid overheating the polity but to first consider the corporate existence of the country. “Mr. President has not violated any constitutional provision. That he is away is not by his own making and there is no constitution that says you must hand over power to somebody else once you are sick. We still have a president who has not been declared to be permanently incapacitated. “He remains the head of government and has the right to decide how he should run the government. He mustn’t hand over to the Vice-President because it hasn’t come to that,” they stated, while urging Nigerians to rather unite in prayers for the quick recovery of the president than making unguarded utterances that were capable of causing disquiet in the polity. |
Igbo governors have always amazed me with their thinking which is usually based on the never-oppose-the-person-at-the-centre principle rather than taking a chance at trying to get there by themselves. While the battle for the revalidation of June 12 1993 election was raging, the south-east governors met and issued a communique threatening to secede should the election be de-annulled. When Obasanjo was going for second term in 2003, all the Igbo Governors were rooting for him even more than the Yoruba Governors. While Chris Ngige was being harassed by the imperial Obasanjo in 2003 and public buildings in Anambra were razed by sponsored thugs, no Igbo Governor (except Orji Kalu) condemned the FG-sponsored attacks or offerred solidarity to Ngige. When Obasanjo wanted third term in 2006, no Igbo Governor (expect Orji Kalu) raised his voice to condemn the evil plot. While Umaru was lying prostrate in Saudi Arabia, Igbo Governors met and declared that there was no vacancy in Aso Rock and that Goodluck should not be made Acting President. Now Igbo governors have come out to say Igbos should not contest for the 2011 presidency? The question is: what is it with Igbo governors and their lack of principles? |
@bluetooth what the f u c k is that suppose to mean ? that election will be held in august or what.I think he is advising Jonathan to defer the announcement of his decision to run or not to run until the end of August 2010. @dolemite: No good predictions, all terrible. . .for God so loved the world i guess. anyway his predictions are vague, I think the international one he's talking about Libya, and the local one well, any could predict that, theres always bloodshed around election time.I don't think these are vague predictions. He is not saying there will be bloodshed around election time. He is saying there will be bloodshed before the end of August 2010. |
I watched Emmanuel TV telecast yesterday (July 18 2010) and listened to TB Joshua's predictions for the coming days regarding both local and international events. I am posting the news so that people who claim on this site that TB Joshua always makes his predictions after the event has occurred can always verify these events if they occur eventually. I don't have the exact words (and anyone who listened to the telecast may assist), but the best summaries I can make are as follows: ON NIGERIA 1.) I am advising the authorities to postpone the decision on seeking election for the Excellency position until after the end of August. 2.) There is a need to pray for the nation as there are ominous signs between now and the end of August 2010. I see bloodshed and the signs are very bad. It is a battle for who will occupy the position of Excellency in 2011 and the battle will be severe. INTERNATIONAL The longest serving African Military Head of State from an Arab country should pray against serious illness and death from cancer or disease of an internal organ. He will be succeeded by a young man before the end of the year. |
Mr Jona must have been high on something when he took that decision. I expect sanity to return when the effect of whatever illicit substance he took must have worn off. Then he will return to his senses, reverse this moronic decision, and apologize to us all. Or else he should be certified mad and consigned to a mental asylum immediately. |
Jonathan has just confirmed to me that having a Ph. D has nothing to do with being intelligent. |
lagerwhenindoubt, I read your treatise on Nigeria's politics (above) and I must say they are sound ideas. You are a great mind and I will be following your postings henceforth. |
World Cup 2010: Nigeria president suspends team Nigeria managed only one point after drawing 2-2 with South Korea Nigeria's president has suspended his nation's football team from international competition for two years after a poor showing at the World Cup. Special presidential adviser Ima Niboro told reporters the decision by Goodluck Jonathan will "enable Nigeria to reorganise its football". He said: "This directive became necessary following Nigeria's poor performance in the ongoing World Cup. Nigeria were knocked out in the group stages without winning a game. The governors that need to learn a lesson in decorum from Amaechi would be Gbenga Daniel (Ogun) and Theodore Orji (Imo). Gbenga Daniel's security men had brutalized a man for having his seat close to the governor's in a plane and refusing to stand up from his alloted seat. Theodore Orji is even worse. His security men beat up a woman in the presence of her young daughter and in full glare of passers by. He then took it a notch higher some months later by abducting a young Nigerian citizen for daring to criticize him, detaining him, and personally administering lashes of the cane on his bare back. And you know what? Nothing came out of it. Thumbs up to Gov Rotimi Amaechi. Another breed like Fashola. Just that two out of 36 makes me uncomfortable. |
Take them to your village to see how rural folks survive in this part of the world. You might even let them go to farm and learn that yams don't grow on trees and that the okro plant sometimes grow taller than adult humans. It will be an unforgettable learning experience. |
