God forbid...God forbid bad thing. Even if it's kwankwaso that wins, things will be better.
Yaradua's govt was better than OBJ's government o. Not always that new govt is worse.

The best government we've had was OBJs. No other comes close

If PO, Atiku or even Tinubu wins, alot will change. This current government is a sham

The next government is always worse that the previous. Three years into the next tenure, people will start praising Buhari

As a man confess in his heart so it will be for him and him alone.

As for me and my household Nigeria will be good to me and my kids.

10yrs time from now by God's grace PO would've being seeing his 2nd tenour through and I'm very optimistic things will turn around for the good of all that will be voting come next year.

The only people who think it will never be good again in Nigeria are those like donbroswer who have already made up their mind to vote another calamity Bat or at.i.ku into power to continue milking the country but God this time will hear the cry of the suffering masses and will hijack this government from the hands of the wicked and every suffering will come to and end

He will not win. Even if he wins nothing will change.

And if you're so sure he will win, deji adeyanju is offering a 10,000 bet for three days now. You can bet and win easy money

it's possible if the account statement is top notch... Renmoney offer me 1m early this year but their interest rates scare me away..

True.

As a driver on bolt, I believe he has a very good chance because one of the things they check is turnover.

As for the renmoney offer, you have to give it to those guys, they are trying. Sometimes I wonder if they even make money with the way people default but I guess they do. New ones spring up everyday.

Banks would have given you at a lower interest but good luck getting it.

Seems I came in at the right time.
Some have said it here severally that no job outside up the extent of asking fresh graduates to get a cab believing "no job out there".
These are the growths needed in career which a driver can never get throughout his lifetime driving on the platforms.

I don't follow graduate trainee jobs but I know I've seen at least three in recent times. First bank, flutterwave and Shell/Total.

Don't listen to anyone who says there are no jobs or the money is too small or that driving Uber is better.

Not everyone will start at Total earning 2.5m a month.

yes. Na why I chook you.

Between the last time we had that conversation and now, how much has the naira depreciated by? How much is that worth of that salary? What can it buy? Between then and now how much has food, transportation, accommodation, fuel, diesel cost gone up by?

At least driver fares has increased, so also has skilled workers bumped up their rates. How many companies have increased salaries to mitigate the suffering? We can't keep deceiving ourselves over salary work in this Nigeria

Between the last time we had a conversation and now, my immediate younger brother has moved from an above 200k job to an above 700k job. Last time we spoke, he told me he's never doing any job that pays in naira again.

Our last born who recently graduated has also moved from a 70k job to a 155k job and there's no end in sight to how many other jobs with better pay he's still going to get.

People who know what they are doing and have the cash to support are even applying and getting 50-100k pound jobs in UK right from Nigeria. The only reason they can do that is because of the experience they gathered from those salary job.

Good luck applying to UK with an uber experience.

I know someone who started his career in the internal audit department of a bank here in Nigeria as an ET. He moved to a big four audit firm from there and as of today is now in a sister audit firm in UK. The entire thing happened between 2018 and 2022. He started with a little over 150k in Nigeria, today he earns multiple times that amount. The sky is his limit. Can you show us one single uber driver with that level of increase in earnings?

That is why you cannot and should not compare the two. From where I'm standing, it's apples and oranges

Amen brother.

I will just have to be positive and hope for the best. I have thought long and hard about it and it's the only way. At least, for now.

I have an uncle that sent his wife to US to birth his two kids.
He later sent them over there to stay permanently, while he stayed back in Nigeria.

The last time he visited US to see his kids, the new husband and the wife refused him access.

This happened over 14yrs ago.
He's not seen his children since then.

We've lived separately 3 out of 8 years though I understand this is different.

I just can't leave what I'm doing right now, at least not yet. I can visit as frequently as I can.

Bro I had this same thought, I wasn’t going to relocate cos I was going abroad for vacation and shopping… but when I saw the way nigeria was happening to people around me and finally touched me, I had to follow suit. Imagine $ to naira (650)
It’s not easy to have a young family separated (one in Nigeria and one part abroad ) abroad life will spoil your children ooh. You must be there to give iron hand…
Let me stop here before he comes to twist my talk.

Nutshell send them first and plan to be visiting often. I met two truck drivers here (Yoruba guys) you need to see the money they make… in Nigeria they are already millionaires.
See there houses in Kwara and osun state , you won’t believe they are truck drivers here.

Their mum hand self strong. I trust her to do her best.

Will be visiting as often as I can.

Sometime along the line, I may contact you.

Nice one
@Shollywendy will say no matter how bad it is, having kids grow over there is somewhat better.

1. They can't come back to Nigeria looking for trenches to stay
2. It cant be that bad for them to come back and pick kitikitI, unless something is amiss
3. 10 years from now, they won't be any Major difference in this country

Inbtw : I'll say there is country and country as well. Let me use South and North Cyprus for example. Pray everyone that have the travelling mindset do good research and what they plan to do out there, before going after that rainbow.

I disagree with number 3. There will be a major difference. The country will be worse off than it currently is.

As for the country, that was one of the hardest decisions. I had to do a lot of reading and consultations before settling for one.

This man I laugh you, I know a friend those days that was doing well going to Spain and other European countries with his warehouses full of goods, he will be telling us how he will train his kids in the best universities in the world because then he opened several accounts for each of them.
Well, I won't say he's hungry now but Nigeria happened to him the last time I saw him.
Most people want to give birth to their kids outside the country not because they are Mumu but because of tomorrow, no one knows how it will pan out

Thanks to you and this post, I have decided to relocate my wife and kids out of the country but I'll be staying back.

The whole process appears overwhelming lipsrsealed but I guess it has to be taken one step at a time.

Maybe Lagos, it can't work in Ibadan. FG and it's air-conditioned policy makers are really estranged from reality, the rate of unemployment is alarming.

My contacts on ground have also assured me it won't work in a place Ibadan.

Even if they do, I'm just in the pilot phase and would have gotten a good chunk of my money by the time they will. The loss will not be much

boss what is your advice for we that are looking for rental/hp,or we should look elsewhere for our daily bread?

Cars for rental/hp are becoming increasingly difficult to see. Na why most drivers now dey do normal because if the partner collects the car, getting another is very difficult.

All the same, you can still see if you go to the right places. Someone here suggested inspection grounds.

If you also have alternative means, by all means give it a trial.
