People who want to travel to the US but can't spend 10 minutes checking through the forum to find out, if their questions have already been answered. If you do your research, you will do well in the interview because you will be more confident and know what you are saying. Don't be lazy.

1. A lot of people miss it at "WHY DO YOU WANT TO GO TO THE US/ WHY ARE YOU GOING TO THE US/ WHY *HOUSTON* For example?
I want to attend the Yoruba cultural summit as X because of Y and it will go a long way in Z, all together I believe it will be beneficial to my A. Give strong reasons why you are going. And be fast in saying it, so that you wont be cut short.
2. If you don't hear what is said, feel free to ask them to repeat, its allowed.

I would recommend you read things in their context, before commenting. "Reading things in context" means starting from the beginning of a conversation and following it till the end, to know what was being discussed and understanding it.

I appreciates everybody contributions concerning required documents needed to take along to Embassy so base on all what I have read on here it shows that US CONSULATE do not looks at documents. Below are the printed papers I will be going with

1. My Travel Passport
2. My DS 160 form confirmation page
3. Visa Fee receipt of payment
4. Evidence of interview appointment letter
5. Passport Photograph

Their country their rules. Ironically most of these shii won't apply to us, if Nigeria was developed. I watched a program the other day, the african-american woman was coming from the US to marry a man in Canada that she only knew online, as in they haven't physically met but she was allowed into Canada. But if it were Nigeria hmm!

He can abandon his house, have someone else run his shop and he probably isn't the only grandchild his grandparents have. Having a girlfriend/wife in Canada is a strong tie to Canada and that is problematic.

Yes. You will need the original of all your documents or the one's that you have the original for. So you will need:
- birth certificate
- Bank statement
- Letter from your employer
- 1 year bank statement
- 6 months payslip
These are some that you will need, include any other documents that you have the originals for. All the best.
They look at originals only, no photocopies.

God's grace deals with sin, and not getting a US VISA biko. And I think God won't be too happy if we are using His grace to get US VISA and run away from the country, that He in His infinite wisdom decreed for us to be born in and positively change for the unborn ones to come.

yes, people get approved on virgin passport and i can tell you they have peculiar stories and they wont narate. more so, it depends on the mood of the the VO, and that is purely GRACE in action, and not everyone has it in equal measure.

This ties of yours are very strong in my opinion.
I am not the VO but your profile is very good, you have strong ties.
What you need to do is know why you are going to the US,
and where you are going to in the US,
for how long,
and be able to explain what you do as per your job
and be able to explain some technical jargon associated with your field.
Again this is my opinion, you have strong ties but VO's are human beings and may look at other considerations but that would be up to them. Be confident in the interview and honest in filling out your forms AND DO NOT USE ANY AGENT, so that you can confidently answer the questions during your interview.

I am of the opinion that you are qualified for visa at the discretion of the VO. You can improve this by having strong ties to your home country.
People with "VIRGIN PASSPORTS" have gotten US Visa's many times. But if you are exceedingly rich, you can travel anywhere you want to. Your choice.
(THIS IS THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION).

Save your money and build up your strong ties to Nigeria instead. No two ways about it.

I live in the U.S and have plans to invite my parents and only sibling to visit me in the summer, so they applied for a B1/B2 visa together and went for the interview together. My parents were given visas but my sister was denied. With that result, we decided for the family visit in December for xmas to give my sister time to reapply again. A lot of questions are going through my head as to why they denied her. She just turned 22 and completed her NYSC. What advice can i get for her before she applies again? Is the B1/B2 the best option for her or should she try coming in as a student?. I don't want her looking desperate and would prefer her to try the B1/B2 application again. He says he did not get any request for further info from embassy and the letter did not even state the information they requested.

Can you share your thoughts on this kind of situation
