1. Have you or you wife apply before October 2015? and if so, did you use an agent in filling your form? if you did, did you ensure that information was truthful?
2. What are your ties to Nigeria? Do a self-assessment.
3. No one looks at your documents.
4. If you included your uncle as a contact in your form, do you know how he got into the US?

olu101:
Good Afternoon Everyone.

Trust we are all having a good day!

I need an advice... I applied for US visiting visa with my wife in Oct 2015 and we were refused. Then my uncle invited us.

Fastward to this year. My wife applied alone for Medical visa (to give birth) in June and was refused.

My question...
I have travelled to the UK and currently have a valid visa, I have been to Spain, Ghana, Togo and Benin Rep.

I intend applying alone now cos my wife is heavily pregnant.

I have some family issue with my uncle so he won't be inviting me this time... so I am thinking of getting my friend to invite me or book an hotel accomodatoon.

*Will it be a problem if he is not the one inviting me this time? If it won't be a problem, .can i book hotel accommodation or get my friend to invite me.

Note
My my uncle lives in Maryland and my friend lives in Arizona.

Please advice. Thank you everyone and God bless.

Please avoid North African airlines (not to be confused with the much better middle-east airlines)
They have no plan for layover for long layovers - no hotel, no vouchers, nothing.
Their planes are old.
But if you don't mind the discomfort, they are relatively cheap.
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by KaptainAfrika: 11:51am On Jul 23, 2017
Very insightful.
Money lodgement has always been my concern especially now that I wish to apply for a Canadian visa.

Jawa:
Hi leleky, your cousins dilemma is not a new one. Once an account is submitted with an application, you can do whatever you want with it. You cousin should however be concerned about the money in his account and its timing. If lump sums have been deposited recent months prior to the application, its money lodgement and a VO can refuse the application on funding grounds if adequate explanation of the source of the funds isn't given because it then doesn't truly represent the financial circumstances of the applicant. If he puts in the money april and applied may, it's not a good plan. How the account thing works is simple; If you submit, a VO verifies by sending the document submitted by you to your bank's internal control for verification. They are verifying the document you submitted which was presented by the VO if its legit but they cant know the current balance of your account. You have a confidentiality agreement with your bank not to disclose that and the VO wouldn't even do that. So your cousin have nothing to worry about touching his money. My opinion always. Best of luck

Sorry about that.
callondaddy:
yes I filled denied and I don't think I was under a ban. I was just denied then and I didn't lie about anything when I was filling my ds160. I still feel I was unlucky cause the second lady almost gave me the visa she just changed her mind because I was the last person on that day to be interviewed

TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by KaptainAfrika: 8:35pm On Jul 20, 2017
1. Did you state that you were rejected, when filling your form?
2. Did you lie/misrepresent in your F1 form?
3. You could be under a ban, but the VO says if this is the case, you will be told but sometimes that's not always the case.

callondaddy:
I was going for an F1 visa then. Then that was done by an agent and I was there when he was filling the DS 160. The only thing I didn't remember was the date I went for those interviews but I didn't ask me when I was filling the ds160 for the family package. The only question is have you been denied before and I said yes. Please house look into this for me to know what ad what I needs to do to get it. I have ties here in Nigeria. I have a house on my own n I have every documents to back that up. Maybe I can take that along when I was going next.

To the Canadian gurus, I would like to ask two questions please:

1. I plan attending a conference holding in March 2018; when would it be advisable to apply for a Canadian visa especially as they take their time.
2. What is the recommended length for a bank statement - one month, three months or six months.

Thanks in advance!
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by KaptainAfrika: 10:27am On Jul 19, 2017
No, single people with strong ties do get visa. But from your profile, can you convince the VO that you will come back? No wife, no kids, a professional in a job that is highly sought after in the US IT Sector...travel to Ghana and Benin republic that looks like an attempt to 'disvirgin' a passport (Just looking at it from the VO perspective).

Hysea:
@seyewest thanks for your response, I AV only bin to Ghana nd Benin republic, I work with a telecoms as a data analyst specialist , I'm single and don't have kids . may I ask , must one be married and have kids before one can be granted a us visiting visa
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by KaptainAfrika: 10:24am On Jul 19, 2017
Your brother is about to be scammed. They lure you in with "you will pay us back when you get there", then slowly start to ask you to make some payments for some bogus things. And when you don't get the visa, they will blame you (you would have been set-up not to get the visa anyway, its all a lie that they are assisting you).

Imokay:
Hello house, please my younger brother is claiming that an agent has offered to pay for his ticket, get him a job in Canada but he will be paying back the money once he gets in there. Now he has been asked to provide an account with4M balance, payslips for 6months, letter of invitation and one other thing. He is very desperate to leave the country but my point has always been be legal if you want to leave. Now I'm suspecting the agent might be up to something... slavery or courier if you get what I mean. Please are there such sincere agencies? Advice us please.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by KaptainAfrika: 12:12pm On Jul 18, 2017
Twice this year? A VO will likely think you are desperate. Build your ties to Nigeria. If you have spare money, travel to other countries. You will be rejected unless your circumstances, have changed.

mane48:
I also tried dis u.s visa twice dis year but I was denied please someone help mehuh

No one knows in all honesty. One thing VO's look out for is confidence. If you are not confident of the answers, you will give, you are already at a disadvantage. Go through this forum and you will see questions and answers, tailor the answers to your particular situation and be confident.

On a tourist visa, what if a question was ask about the tourist activities and the benefits derivable from the tourist. Is it proper to say 'just to see a plane called blackbird as it's the fastest plane on earth. Note: am visiting strategic air command in Ashland. Kindly advice on the best thing to say

my interview is near already abbeeg oo.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by KaptainAfrika: 9:31pm On Jul 17, 2017
1. Did you use an agent in both US and UK applications?
2. No one knows your chances, only God. But you can do a self-appraisal - what are those things that will make you come home those are your ties to Nigeria.
3. Most importantly, did you misrepresent in any or both visa applications? if so, you can come clean and you could still get your visa.

Gwihan:
Hello everyone and God bless you all for helping people with their questions and worries.

Please i need an advise. Went to US embassy 2times in 2012 for a student (f1) visa interview and was denied on the two occasions, i also have history of visa refusal from the British embassy 2 times in 2015, i have a traveling history to an African country Ghana in 2014.

Just married last 3 months my husband has a virgin passport,

Now my cousin is having a wedding for November in USA and she's sending my husband and i an invitation to attend.

What are my chances of getting a visa? And are we to apply for a family or individual interview.

Also note then I was a student , dependant on my father, but now I have a good paying job same for my husband, apart from my daily job I run a catering business.

Thanks and expecting your swift response.

You need money for any trip. Money that will take care of your feeding, accommodation, transportation and for any unforeseen circumstances. The CBP officer would probably place greater premium on physical cash that ATM cards. So she needs to get enough money for her trip.

If asked, he should be able to explain the change in salary.

bee2bee:
Hello all,

Please my brother was promoted this month and his salary has changed from what he submitted on his DS-120 form. Should he fill another form and swap. He has booked a family appointment. The initial salary is about 350k. Although he wont be able to get the new payslip before his interview but his employer will give him a letter showing his new level and total annual pay.

I need your candid advise. Thanks

Oh oh. This is dicey. How far along is she?. It really isn't a crime to have a child in the US though, you just have to be sincere and let the VO know. A saving grace might be, if your relative was not pregnant as at the time of the interview.

Holyfield1:
Was the embassy aware that you were pregnant before leaving Nigeria.... I have a relative who will be travelling to the States soonest for Vacation but the real intent is to give birth.... Hope there won't be problem at the POE? She is with a tourist VISA and never informed the embassy about her pregnant as she got pregnant after getting the VISA

TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by KaptainAfrika: 8:13pm On Jul 09, 2017
Your strongest tie is in the US, your husband, even if you intend to come back to Nigeria after childbirth, the VO is bound by law to assume that you have migrant intent - basically tell your husband to apply for you to join him in the US, as the VO codedly tells in his question.

"Vo: where's your husband
Me:He resides in the US
Vo: why is he not filing for you"

Gorgeousmum:
A transcript on how my interview went
VO: good morning
Me:good morning and hands in passport
VO:what are you going to do in the US?
Me: Am pregnant and I want to go and give birth in the US
VO:what do you do
Me: I work as a sales representative for **** company
Vo:what does your husband do
Me: He's a medical practitioner at***
Vo: where's your husband
Me:He resides in the US
Vo: why is he not filing for you
Me: gave him the reason why
Vo:How long have you been married
Me:told him and he kept typing away and next thing was a green paper.stayed truthful all the way and very straight with my answers,i wana reapply ASAP,what do you think went wronghuh, help please, thanks.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by KaptainAfrika: 10:30pm On Jul 08, 2017
1. You can travel and then explain to the CBP officer, why your wife isn't with you.
or
2. Wait and travel with your wife.

Its your choice.

The final decision lies with the CBP officer. You can improve your chances of entry by sticking to what you said at the interview, and being confident, when explaining yourself.

But won't it be more romantic to travel with your wife to the US and give her a special treat. Your visa is valid for two years, you know. grin

Saylawchar:
I have a question, a very good friend of mine got B1/B2 visa for his family and they had earlier planned to go for vacation together but now the wife was called back to work from her place of work place which necessitated her cancellation of movement. she wont be able to make the trip and my friend too doesnt have much time as he managed to secure this very 2 weeks leave, not sure of getting another leave.

He now wants to find out if he can travel alone and return home after his two weeks leave?
Hope he wont be returned at POE if he doesn't enter with his family as planned?
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by KaptainAfrika: 10:11am On Jul 08, 2017
In exchange for sincere advise, please be sincere with us, your identity is protected in this forum. Why do you want to go to the US?
A successful visa application is based on your strong ties (check this forum, for what they are.)and the discretion of the VO.
The fact that you're using an agent to 'package' your application, is not good - he's probably done the same 'packaging' for others, check this forum for the consequences.
You can get that visa and even if you don't get the visa, filling your information honestly is in your best interests as it will be in the US records forever.
All the best!

[quote author=noblealuu post=58239063]@constance234 and others compliments.

I need some sincere advice.

A friend/colleague moved to the US in 2014 shortly after we finished our Internship as Medical Laboratory Scientists.

I don't know how he migrated though.
His elder brother has been living in the States a while ago.

He visited Nigeria early January this year and we met had a chat though I didn't have the leverage to ask him some detailed question since there was a female third party.

I called him on Easter Sunday to exchange pleasantries and he directed I do my passport and inform him when it's ready after he asked whether I would love to come over to the States. Although I just started a distance learning MBA program in Nigeria which I have dropped.

I reluctantly did the passport last month, picked it up yesterday 07/07/17 and thereafter informed him.

Now, he promised to

Money won't be an issue. What matters is your 'strong ties to Nigeria' and the decision of the VO. And please go through this forum, to find out what 'strong ties' means and what makes up 'strong tes to Nigeria'.
