I'm saying that your information definition is deficient, when information we intuitively understand as information is not included in the definition. How is your name a command?! Yet it is information.

But you don't find the statement wrong, right?: all Catholics are under a duty to serve God
Christianity Etc › Re: Information: Evidence Of A Creator. by Kay17: 7:28pm On May 01, 2013
Emusan: Once you find it comply with four attributes of UDI it's a command mr man. Because the third attribute (Expected action) make it clear, you might not need it at that particular time but it's there for a purpose.

And try to visit the LINK too.
I love Yvonne is information, betrays a particular knowledge. However it is not a command. Neither are weather reports nor rain measurements.
Christianity Etc › Re: Information: Evidence Of A Creator. by Kay17: 9:25am On May 01, 2013
Emusan: The first law of thermodynamics makes it clear that mass and energy (matter) can neither be created nor destroyed. All mass and energy in the universe is being conserved (the total sum is constant). However, someone can write a new complicated formula on a white board and then erase the formula. This is a case of creating and destroying information.
Since the first law of thermodynamics states that mass and energy (matter) cannot be created or destroyed, and information (UDI) can be created and destroyed, information (UDI) must be nonmaterial.
The genetic information system is the software of life and, like the symbols in a computer, is purely symbolic and independent of its environment. Of course, the genetic message, when expressed as a sequence of symbols, is nonmaterial but mustbe recorded in matter and energy.

If we apply these laws governing UDI to DNA information, we can make logically sound arguments (conclusions).
1. Since the DNA code of all life-forms is clearly within the UDI definition domain of information, we conclude there must be a sender (LI 1, 2).
2. Since the density and complexity of the DNA encoded information is billions of times greater than man’s present technology, we conclude the sender must be supremely intelligent (LI 2, plus corollaries).
3. Since the sender must have
*. encoded (stored) the information into the DNA molecules
*. constructed the molecular biomachines required for the encoding, decoding, and synthesizing processes
*. designed all the features for the original life-forms
we conclude the sender must be purposefuland supremely powerful (LM 1, plus corollary).
4. Since information is a nonmaterial fundamental entity and cannot originate from purely material quantities, we conclude the sender must have a nonmaterial component (Spirit). God is Spirit (FL1, 2; LI 2, plus corollaries)!
5. Since information is a nonmaterial fundamental entity and cannot originate from purely material quantities, and since information also originates from man, we conclude man’s nature must have a nonmaterial component (spirit). Man has a spirit (FL 1, 2; LI 2, plus corollaries)!
6. Since information is nonmaterial and the third fundamental entity, we conclude that the assumption “the universe is composed solely of mass and energy” is false (FL 1, 2).
The philosophy of materialism is false!
7. Since all theories of chemical and biological evolution require that information must originate solely from mass and energy alone (no sender), we conclude all theoriesof chemical and biological evolution are false
I don't understand why you'd believe all information are Commands. That's the major flaw in your "grandeur" OP

Christianity Etc › Re: What Are Your Views On Supernatural Occurrences? by Kay17: 8:00pm On Apr 30, 2013
bolaino: well not all things that are beyond physics, can be attributed to being metaphysical,

but simply put, I would say the supernatural could be a branch of science that has not been fully explored, hence it's said to be beyond the physical. and I hope that soonest in our academic institutions there would arise a need to create the "department of supernatural studies" where people like ijawkid can go and study sorcery and wizardry!!!
Lmao!! Ijawkid needs such a place. Ok, so Supernatural can be a branch of science, but hope it is certain, measruable, empirical in a few words. So if Supernatural is beyond the natural/physical, it means the Supernatural covers areas pertaining to existence that the natural can not cover. However Supernatural cannot contradict nor supercede the natural/physical in areas they already cover.

For example, no one should accept water boiling at 0degrees as true nor supernatural, cos water naturally boils at 100 degrees.

Another trouble is identifying the Supernatural.

bolaino: Well, after all is said and done it still boils down to the concept of "seeing is believing" to u guys, (as should every rational human) superstition thrives on belief, and believing in it is you giving yourself to it,

But we are grateful to science, science has been able to explain to us in detail things that our ancestors never thought could be understood, and I hope that in the nearest future most of the things we thought were mysteries would be unraveled.
Pls can you respond to my reply.

However the Duty is the same among all Catholics irrespective of race.
Christianity Etc › Re: U.S. Woman Ordained Catholic Priest In Kentucky, USA (photos)! by Kay17: 3:34pm On Apr 30, 2013
Ubenedictus: how are you my dear?
I do not understand your question.
Ordination isn't the "equal duty of every servant of God". Not everybody can ordain and not everybody can be ordained and one doesn't need to ordain or be ordain before he/she can serve God.
Peace my dear.
Ordination is done in the course of service/duty to God, it is not a right nor privilege nor power.

Don't all servants of God have an equal duty to serve him?
Christianity Etc › Re: What Are Your Views On Supernatural Occurrences? by Kay17: 1:33pm On Apr 30, 2013
bolaino: well, supernatural can be said to be something that is beyond natural, something that goes against physics, metaphysical or supernatural both hold same meaning,

The big bang, is just a theory and it's not a fact but if it really is true then it's not supernatural, like wise the power of the atom, I hope the higgs boson theory is proven to be accurate soonest though, cos it would shut the church folks up for good,

I agree wit u that the universe is massive and and infinitesimal, and that. Makes it seem more supernatural, there are things that science can not be able to explain, like I personally believe in Extraterrestrial existence, we can't be the only ones living on this gigantic universe,
I noticed the part you said the Universe's size makes it "seem" supernatural. Now you are clearer, but can be clearer. I wld assume what you meant by natural is physics, since we humans are not omniscient, we don't have the full grasp of physics, we are still learning everyday. Could we say supernatural means what's beyond all physics including knwledge we don't yet know? Note that it will be more difficult in pinpointing the Supernatural especially when we are not omniscient.
Christianity Etc › Re: What Are Your Views On Supernatural Occurrences? by Kay17: 10:50am On Apr 30, 2013
bolaino: what I have learnt so far on my journey to self enlightenment is that things are not always what they seem, muskeeto as an agnostic u should know that by now,

When you were a child studying CRS in secondary skul, if u were told that a time would come in your life where u would be writing articles, and calling the biblical God all sorts of names, u would'nt believe, but now u know beta,
life is not black and white, life is full of mysteries that we can never fully comprehend, take the pyramids at giza for example, there has been no concrete scientific explanation for how they were built, and so many other mysteries, where these people given divine architectural knowledge? That's something we will probably never find out, science holds answers to many things but not all things,
Is the Big Ban.g supernatural?

Is a skyscraper supernatural?

Is the power of the atom supernatural?

The Universe is immense, and near infinite that it blows our minds away with astronomical distances, sizes and material, would that mean its supernatural?

What is Supernatural?
Christianity Etc › Re: Myopia Of Atheism by Kay17: 10:46am On Apr 30, 2013
Freksy: Your failure to disprove that truth is very obvious. If it was "copied and pasted", as you claim that's what I did, does that negate the truth found in the scriptures and confirmed by modern science regarding the order in which things first appeared here on earth? What you are attacking is a sign of failure on your part. You think everyone is feeding from the same website(s) as you? Go back to that post, read through it and the cited scriptures therein, then come and see if you'll still like what you put up here.
Mr Freksy, what is Truth?

If we know what Truth is, we can confirm what is contained in the Scriptures as truth.

AlvinPlantinga: i think the question is:

1.If God does not exist:-

Quoting the words of Richard Dawkins.

"The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil and no good, nothing but blind pitiless indifference"

2.If God exists , then thats a whole different ball game.
Both are wrong. Richard dawkin is treading on nihilism.

2. Saying human life is meaningful only with the existence is similar to this:

Is bread sweet? No bread and jam is sweet.
Christianity Etc › Re: Myopia Of Atheism by Kay17: 10:51pm On Apr 29, 2013
Deep Sight: A self existent thing cannot change.

Self existent things are intrinsically permanent in nature. That is the very quality of self existence.

Permanent intangible self existent things. Such as infinite time, infinite space and infinite permutations.

The reasoning is that -

1. At all events, some thing or the other must self exist for anything to exist.

2. This is because something cannot emerge from nothing.

3.That which self exists can only be that which is permanent, non contingent, intrinsically necessary, and could not but exist: and as such, exists by default.

4. It is not reasoned that this factor is mutable: it is reasoned that this factor is the permanent somethingness which is the seed of reality as we know it.

5. As such it is the effects from the cause that infinitely change and not the the cause that changes.

We have very little scientific understanding of the universe as yet.

This is very well said and profound. I will have to ask you however if time and space exist, and then I will have to ask you if they move: or if we move in them.

That is the agnostic's position.
1. You maintain a belief that God as a self existent being is unchangeable, and at a time indivisible however that contradicts your other belief that Creation is ex deo. That is the Universe and its material constituents are a part of God who is supposedly unchangeable and transcendent.

2. It is logically untenable to maintain the infinity of time. Infinite time supposes that time neither has a beginning nor end. And neither does it approach any particular point of time. If time is infinite, then it took an infinite period for the Universe to spring up. Thereupon the moment when the universe springs up is unapproachable.

3. Self existence in my belief is qualified by a prior fact. Causality can exist on only complexity, in that part is built on part. Abstracts and mathematical truths are not complex parts, hence are simple and therefore uncaused and self existent. If God as you say is the cause of all existing entities, he breaks down into smaller parts, parts unwrapped from parts to form our Universe as it is.

God if complex can not be an uncaused cause.

4. Your much touted principle "Something can not come out of Nothing" accepts the permanence of reality/existence, hence all things exist either in actuality or as a potential. We both accept some primordial state had always existed, but I go further in dispensing with the NEED for a discretionary visionary Creator, because the character/laws of the primordial state already allows for potentials.
Christianity Etc › Re: Myopia Of Atheism by Kay17: 2:43pm On Apr 29, 2013
Deep Sight: Self existent necessaries are instrinsically eternal.

Then should not matter to you; aside from the fact, of course, that the point remains the same with this answer.
What do you think about potentials.
Christianity Etc › Re: What Are Your Views On Supernatural Occurrences? by Kay17: 1:19pm On Apr 29, 2013
The OP omitted to tell us what he meant by supernatural occurrences. Criss Angel's walk on water was a magic trick/natural for example.

Kay 17: The Supernatural is a contravention of the natural. It is not what's beyond our knowledge, it accepts our limited knowledge, but it is inconsistent with it. It accepts our understanding of natural phenomenon, yet it develops contravening idea against it.

For example: Water boils at 100oC, supernatural accepts that but contradicts it by saying water boils at 0oC

improper analogy, cos you equal unclothedness to contamination. I equal it to beauty.

See my scenario: which wld you buy, a Van Gogh painting which is revealed or an obscure shrouded painting that you can't see at all.

Christianity Etc › Re: Clothing And The Believer In A 'Modern World' by Kay17: 3:02pm On Apr 28, 2013
It would be unfair for the OP to cast non Christians in the bad light of immorality and savagery. It is true that modern ppl expose their bodies, and hide behind thin veiled clothes, but they view their bodies differently. Unlike the Christians and muslims who see the human body as scarred by imperfection, unholy and shameful, and hence it must be hidden.

But most non-Christians see their bodies as models of beauty, that should be admired, flaunteds hared just like any artwork.

So if the underlying beliefs are very important, otherwise opinions like the OP which aren't well informed will be prejudicial.

davidylan: Dude you're in the incoherent babble zone now. Of course people of faith see faith in a deity as the central tenet of their religious conviction... that has been so for over 6000 yrs. Are you just noticing that people of faith embrace faith?
I'm in incherent babble zone and you agree with me! How outstanding.

Nevertheless, to elaborate further, ppl of Faith have to reject God existence as a natural fact/objective truth in favour of their faith. So more or less agreeing with the atheists in that regard. So no atheist is really required to disprove God's objective existence.
Christianity Etc › Re: Chance Or Intelligent Design (creation) by Kay17: 5:55pm On Apr 27, 2013
davidylan: That is just as bad. Why do you think "people of FAITH" embrace "faith"? Perhaps because they is what they ARE? you dont seem to have a cogent thought. It seems to me that some of you just post without really thinking deep.
By people of Faith, I meant Christians, Muslims and other religious bodies that take Faith asa central tenet. And that's the general meaning of "People of Faith"
