IMAliyu2:Word! Aina really went hard on those notes. Demon Slayer's ED is currently holding my best ED of the season but Oshi no Ko and Heavenly Delusion's EDs are making a strong case for themselves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLyaBdrKamA |

OhBritannia:Indigenous Brazilians weren't white though. The white mix came in when they were invaded by Europeans. Portraying an ancient Brazilian as white would not only be terribly inaccurate, it would also be very insulting. It's also well documented that Cleopatra was not black. She was Ptolemaic Greek. Her father was Ptolemy XII and her mother was Cleopatra Tryphaena, both descendants of the Ptolemaic dynasty. Even if she wasn't caucasian, she'd most likely be middle eastern, not black. |
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 8.5/10 James Gunn is really good at what he does. It's kinda funny how the first movie that lets DC fans know they're in good hands is an MCU movie. The same way Gunn took a rag-tag bunch of Marvel B-and-C-listers and made them a hit in 2014 is how he closes out their chapter with another hit. An emotional rollercoaster of a story that takes a look at every guardian and asks the question, "Who are you?" The cast has never missed a beat since they burst on the scene 9 years ago and they definitely didn't miss now. Fluidly moving from the familiar GotG style of humour to depicting anger, rage, grief and despair in a way that draws you in and makes you care about stuff you didn't even know you could care about. The storytelling is amazing and utilizes elements of cinema proficiently. After about 2 decades of consuming stories, there's a good number of story beats you can predict but the way they handled a scene that I saw coming still had that scene hitting me deep in the feels. The action scenes are also really entertaining, well choreographed and shot. It's a James Gunn movie and so you know that means the soundtrack is definitely a banger lineup. And it is, with tracks all the ways from the 70s to the 2000s. Not to mention that the original score by John Murphy is also a blessing to the ears and enhances the emotional moments in the story. Vol. 3 definitely puts Guardians of the Galaxy up there as one of the best MCU trilogies. Hell, I personally rank it as the best MCU trilogy.

IMAliyu2:Dayuum!! Waifu Sherlock makes me want to bring a case to Baker Street |

abduleez1:Indeed. I feel the ultimate hook of the series will be what those plotlines build up to. |
SniperAssassin:Knew Ketil would be pissed. Didn't expect him to be THAT pissed. |
Hope whoever is doing these backgrounds is getting full pay and sleep.

Renfield 7/10 A very entertaining action-comedy flick that doesn't overstay its welcome. Seeing Nicolas Cage back and delivering the goods in mainstream-targeted projects just has me happy for the dude. The resurgence in his career has been nice to see and I hope he gets back to being a box office draw. The exploration of an abusive codependent relationship, using Dracula and his familiar as a vehicle was rather well done. A balanced execution that can go absolutely bonkers when it needs to and still simmer down to deliver the emotional beats isn't really easy to pull off but Chris McKay does a pretty good job. A pretty good watch for fans of Nicolas Cage, Count Dracula and dark humour.

DieRich5:Plan to start it next week. |
