Who's nxt on d transfer list ? Joey Barton, Gary Cahill and a Left Back.

Surprised Cesc is not in the news today. No new stories for the press τ̅☺ cook up.

Sell Arshavin ke, Wenger shld not try it o. We need him as someone who can come off the bench (not a starter) and make a difference if we find ourselves in a sticky situation.  Arshavin will be abt 30 when his contract expires so his contract running down doesn't really matter. I don't think he will be much sought after. We can offer him a contract extension after that.

Almunia is still around, has he really reached his scrap value for no club τ̅☺ want him huh

Arsenal have completed the signing of Alex Chamberlain from Southampton.

Confirmed !!!

So we might now see Theo featuring more as a central striker.

the title race this time will be very fierce - city are not taking it easy.
liverpool will improve and tottenham will make some noise. nothing is certain.

arsenal won't miss cesc.
nasri can do cesc's job.

--------van persie--------

arshavin--nasri--gervinho----

-----song-----wilshere--------

-------back five-----------

i expect this team to beat 65% of the clubs in the league.
van persie's fitness is the key for arsenal. if he stays fit, arsenal will go far.
Dont think 65% can win you the league besides it is utopian fantasy to think that you will have this squad available week in - week out. Injury will take its toll and fatigue will set in by the time we start playing 8 games a month. This line-up minus one player, turns to garbage.

proudly9ja:
AW said he's trying hard to get in players. We have no choice but to wait.
I agree he should have brought in players earlier. Left to me, we should have brought in a player last season when it seemed obvious that Cesc wanted to leave. But ofcourse, the story is we don't have as much money to throw around.
We are prolly waiting for last minute buys, maybe transfer day deadline. Only thing is we would have played 3 big games before then
Agreed, we dont have money to throw around but cmon, were not 'Portsmouth' broke. Spending money on a decent defender (CB) is not luxurious or wasteful spending and of course if we have to spend on fab or Nas's replacement then it means we're just reinvesting what we got from their sales.

He'll prefer to wait until the last minute to feed on scraps and left-overs like Silvestre.

My own panic button has been on since the transfer window opened and i think the switch is stuck.

proudly9ja:
We've been like this for about 4 seasons now tbh - good first team but no proper backups. That's why when injuries set in, we find it hard to cope.

As for Nasri and Fab, even if we adequately replace them, who says the replacement will fit into the EPL/our style of play immediately? That's why I said earlier that if we have to beg, we should beg Cesc to stay. The way Nasri has played in preseason, he doesn't seem to be like he's going to put in his best if we force him to stay so Ive given up on him.
Wenger should have finished his transfer business (buying and selling) earlier for new players to start adapting and blending with the team.

Ive given up on both Fab and Nasri and I will be happy to see their backs.

Begging Fab to stay will only be detrimental to the whole team as his "heart & soul" is already in Barca. (Person wey dey contribute personal money to finance im own transfer).
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread (for Arsenal Fans) by KayDee4: 10:22pm On Aug 06, 2011
This is a sign of what to expect if we loose Fabregas and Nasri and not replace them adequately. Monseiur Wenger , listen to the voice of the people.

proudly9ja:
You can really judge the team by that second half. We played Frimpong, Lansbury. Players who may not play together again all season except maybe in the CC.
Defensively, TV5 did well though Aimar beat him hands down for that first goal. But Im confident if we get a similar player to TV5 in that defence or if DJ20 resurrects his pre second half of last season form, we should be fine in that area.
. . . . . . . and what if not, then were doomed again I guess.

In other words, it means our first team is good and the second team is by miles, woeful.

And my own mother prefers me to bring home this piggish things called Nigerian men?

BTW, why is the woman only attacking Mercy, why not her husband?

The types of NIgerian men that crawl around nowadays leaves one to think. What happened between my grandpa's generation and this one?

What a shame to the Nigerian society.
@ Ileke, it is unfair to classify all Nigerian men as 'piggish' based on the behavior of one man afterall Mercy Johnson is a party to the crime. Now will it be right to classify all Nigerian ladies as "promiscuous husband snatchers" based on her own character?? undecided undecided

Naija leaders, , you should be thinking of ways to make Night Travel safer and not trying to abolish it totally. Put ur brains to work and justify your fat salaries.

Why not fix the roads to make them motorable and provide adequate security which IMO, is non-existent.

Do they think these guys travel @ night for the fun of it? They are compelled to do so by personal or business exigencies.

Wetin be this one about tribe againhuh

Every Nigerian tribe has their fair share of guilt in this matter.

Go and watch "Catch a con man" on MSNBC, they (all the fraudsters) are all Nigerians from different tribes and languages  Ibo,  Yoruba, Calabar, Hausa, Efik, Ibibio, Ijaw, Ishekiri, etc etc etc.

Internationally, they are all known as "Nigerians" and not Nigerian-Ibo or Nigeria-Yoruba.

The image of every Nigerian is affected by such unfortunate circumstances and you cant hide by saying "afterall na yoruba man"
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread (for Arsenal Fans) by KayDee4: 4:42pm On Aug 02, 2011
Enuff of the Liverpool - Tottenham comparisons, all clubs have their own problems. Lets face Arsenal.

Point is , we had a woeful season last time out because of terrible defending and so far nothing has been done to fix it. The players haven't improved much judging by their pre-season performances.

As it stands, we still have just one decent CB in TV5 and saying he will have a full season is not realistic because injuries (hopefully not) and fatigue will set in @ a point when we have to play 8 -10 games a month. Then we'll hav Squills and Djorou commanding our defense.

A potential disaster if you ask me; but imma keep them fingers crossed, waiting on Wenger and the Aug 31st date.

I tire for the man ooo. He was caught "pants down" cos I saw the video evidence when the scandal broke and I thought to myself "This man should just disappear from public eye", but he still came out shamelessly with a dumb excuse that he wanted to use the money to build a stadium for Nigeria.

Now the tory don make U-Turn, I wonder what is going on behind the scenes.

@Proudly

To be honest, that generation has been productive for us so far, JET was one of those I believed had everything to make it from that generation but Wilshere & Szczesny are already first teamers and we have Frimpong, Coquelin and Bartley all knocking loudly in my opinion. I wouldnt call Lansbury as being from that particular set as he was about a year older but he did play some U18 games with them as well so if about 4 of them end up in the Arsenal first team in the long term that would mean our Academy is very productive, that would be considerable saving in terms of players we would have been buying (considering Henderson went for 20m).
Jay Simpson was a BIG loss from the group. Cant understand why Wenger sold him. I wld pick him ahead of Bendtner anytime anyday.
Travel › Re: 45 Ghanaians Deported From Nigeria by KayDee4: 6:00pm On Jul 25, 2011
Im surprised to hear this because sometime I wonder how we can tell who's Nigerian and who's not.

Is it by the name??

or by passport or national I.D card (most Nigerians dont have any of these).

So if a Ghanian or in Nigeria decides to claim he's nigerian, how do we confirm this. Doesnt take much for anyone to get an I.D card in Nigeria and claim any state of origin.

If Nigeria wants to put a check on immigration, I think the first step should be some form of registration for citizens which i think was the idea of the National I.D card project that was killed by corruption and then proper registration of babies @ birth, then pay more attention to the northern borders.

Just wondering anyway. . . . . . . .
