Hi guys I got denied today.

Here is the transcript

Bald VO in Lagos Embassy. Windows 1

VO: Goodday
Me: Goodday
VO: which school are you going to
Me: Worcester Polytechnic Institute
VO: To study what
Me: Information Technology
VO: Why this school and not other schools
Me: WPI has a robust curriculum in Information Technology. They have incorporated it into Their Business School which was what attracted me to them.
VO:Who is Paying for your school
Me: I got a partial scholarship and an education loan which will cover my tuition
VO: Who gave you the loan
Me:MPOWER. MPOWER is a financial company that helps international students achieve their study dreams in the US using their student Loans
VO: do you have a brother or sister schooling abroad?
Me: No sir
VO: How will MPOWER track you in paying once you come back to Nigeria
Me: I will tell you about the payment plan then about the tracking (VO cuts in)
VO: I know about the payment plan but how will they track you when you are back
ME: based on the documentation I have filled and signed, the information there would be used.
VO: What does your father do
Me: He is a retired civil servant but owns his on Medical Laboratory
VO: and you mum
Me: She is also retired and own her own business
VO: sorry you are not qualified……

I think he has an issue with me paying back upon coming back to Nigeria.

I am planning to re-apply. Do you guys think I can still get a surge date?

Also, who has any information about the loan questions
Sorry about the refusal Bro. Apply again and if asked how MPower will track you, let them know that you submitted your BVN, simple. Your Bank Verification Number is attached to your financial details so long as you are in Nigeria.

I got denied again today and honestly I don’t know what the problem is.

V: i’m sorry you do not qualify for blah blah at this time
Sorry about the refusal. Is your brother in the same state as your school?
VO stressed so much about him going on F1 and you too. I think that your brother not returning after his studies is a red flag.

Got approved back in September, but haven't posted my transcript here.

I am still so happy and it feels so surreal, and my little piece of advice is that try to back it up with prayers also. I fasted and prayed about this and it worked out. Because when I started stammering, in my mind I was like I have f*cked this one up again. But I still got my approval, maybe if I had prayed for my Lagos interview it would have been a success regardless.

Congratulations dear

Good day guys. Please someone sent me the following question, please I need your suggestions to this:

"I filled and submitted ds160 and my I-20 all had biomedical sciences but I changed my course even before the school gave me the second I-20
They now gave me another I-20 yesterday with pre-nursing on it and I have already applied for the surge and I put biomedical sciences everywhere they asked for course before the new I-20 came".

Thank you.

I Hope you know i was recently delayed this week. So i can apply for interview at same Abuja consulate for surge or should i change to lagos?
I thought I read here that someone got a response by email that he shouldn't change location, he should apply for surge in the same location he was denied. I'm not really sure about this, let those who have same experience advise.

will the husband say he applied for 2years leave or what? Cuz I don't understand that leave part
Well, that will be a bit of a hassle but not impossible. It would have been to his favor if he was self employed. Let her try still. Well that's my own opinion, but whatever makes her comfortable.

Thanks to everyone that assisted me on this journey.

I later deferred.

I have done my interview at the Abuja Embassy with the dreadful Korean guy.

VO : Do you have any travel history?
Me : None.
VO : what do you do currently?
Me : I am a lecture at XYZ
VO : Ok.
VO: What is your highest qualification?
Me: I have a masters Degree with Distinction
VO: Who is paying for your Trip?
Me: my husband.
VO to my husband: what do you do?
Him : I work as an Engineer at ABC
VO : How much do you make?
Him: I make 500k monthly.
VO : Do you have your bank statements?
Him: Yes. He showed him.
VO : This is ok.
VO: what would you be doing in the US?
Him: I am going with my family to settle them in, I would be back to my job.
Him: I have some projects I need to come back to.
VO: Where would the baby be?
Him: She would be staying at the creche.

VO: Madam, I would be approving only your visa.
Unfortunately I won't be granting your baby and your husband.

My baby is just 6 months.

I am thinking of reapplying for her, please advise.

I wonder why a 6 months baby would be denied. I am going for PHD.

O dear, this is not fair. I think what went wrong was the fact that your husband said he will be coming back to his job, if so, he would have applied for B1/B2 visa. But applying for F2, he didn't give an accurate answer. F2 will be there to support family mentally, emotionally, help take care of the baby and return with you once you're done with your program. Just let your husband say he will apply for leave from his company. Just package it well. The guy is pitying the baby and he is doing you good because he wants you all to go together. Please reapply as soon as possible. I am waiting to hear your complete testimony.

I got approved today 9th November.
Abuja Embassy
First Attempt, no travel history.
School: Georgia State University
Course: French Studies
Funding:$36,140 (full tuition waiver + GTA)
Deficit: $15, 603.

V.O : Good morning.
Me: Good morning.
V.O: I see you're to Georgia State University to study French Language.
Me: Yes.
V.O: And I see you have a Graduate assistanship?
Me: Yes.
V.O: You have a deficit. Who's going to pay for it?
Me: My uncle. He is a pharmacist.
V.O: What will this course do for you?
Me: I will come back to my organisation (mentioned it) where I will seek to move to the Academy being built by ECOWAS to lecture. I was a French Facilitator at one of our training schools before being deployed to Abuja. (I can't remember if I said all this or it was in my head, but I already planned on saying it. So, I guess it came out fine).
V.O: So, you're saying that you will come to work with ECOWAS Academy, right?
Me: No. Migration Academy being built by ECOWAS.
V.O: Okay.
She typed for a while, maybe 30 seconds and then reached out for the white paper.
V.O: shd7dunxokjyyfghjj I-20 hdieijks safe js7eiejnznsj Corona virus djdururjzozxxbbt. I didn't hear anything except these few words. I was just nodding and smiling.

All praise to God because the sequence of questions were not followed, she was answering the questions she was supposed to ask me. Questions like why the US and not France I was expecting was not asked. I give God all the praise. I've been on this journey since last year. I got this admission for Summer 2021 but deferred to Spring 2022. I'm so glad to have a Graduate Coordinator who is understanding. She assured me my funding will be intact and that I can defer.
Thanks to you all that has been helping with tips, encouragement and transcripts. God bless you all.
If you believe in God, hold him tight, tell him what you want and stand on it. I nearly lost faith with all the denials here but I started speaking scriptures to myself. God is good don't put him aside. God bless you all.
Congratulations dear. May God be praised!

Good day all, since its necessary I go with my husband as I'm pregnant , but we want to mail them to know if he can be given a temporary work permit in order not to be idle , coz he is going to resign from his work to go with me. My lectures are twice in a week and in the evening, then the assistantship (not daily also). Is it possible for them give him a work permit?
If your husband is going as your dependent i.e. F2, please and please, never you mention that he is going there to work. That would be an outright visa refusal. He is not permitted by law to work.

YES, but live online. Good question, I had same concern then because most online tutors use pre-recorded videos and/or just give you a foreign textbook to teach from and ask you to call/chat/email them if you don't understand well, moreover they do mainly focus on Writing & Reading section which ain't enough.

So I told Tobidam that I was a novice, that how will an online class be effective? They said that they love admitting newbies, that it affords them the opportunity to prove their effectiveness. That if after one month of training, and I can't speak, write, listen and read to be able to pass DELF A1( a French foreign exam for A1 level) that I should stop coming, so I decided to try them of which I was impressed after the first month and continued till the end.

It's actually just like a normal school though online. They use their personally written textbook(my favorite) which made French so much very easy to understand. Also, they will give you a software to install that will make both you and the tutor work together in real time. E.g. if you are doing a class work/assignment the tutor can mark it or correct it on the same screen page that you are working and at the same time you are writing.
They are tech savvy sha and they will help you program everything that it will appear as if you are in a physical class.

Good luck!
Wow. This cool. Will give them a try. Thank you.

MY TEF STORY

Finally guys, TEF is doable, but I must tell you it is not for a lazy or indecisive mind. Let me stop here. For those who want to ask about the packages, other info about the school etc, I am not that current with the lastest info since I have left Tobidam since last year, but you can check their website.
I gotta go now guys, I am hungry.

Thank you Bro for the info and congratulations.
Was your training with Tobidam online? I need to know how possible an online class can help a complete novice in French.

Please can someone help with this question. Just want to know if I can apply for my kids who would be accompanying me to Canada on a work permit visa using their US passport. Or I should use their Nigerian passport. Thank you
I think the system has already told you what to do. Your kids do not need visa to enter Canada. So go ahead with your own application. Submit and get your own visa. Whenever you're traveling, book their flight alongside with yours. They have free passage to Canada because they're US citizens. That's my own understanding in this matter.
I think it's this way because you're applying for work permit and not PR.
