More on injuries, things are not getting any better at all. . . or so it seems. . . .

Arsenal pair William Gallas and Andrey Arshavin have both been ruled out for three weeks.

The two players sustained injuries in the 2-2 Champions League draw with Barcelona on Wednesday, and both have calf strains that will keep them out for much of April.

"At the moment, we are like an army who have come back from a big battle," Wenger told the club's official website, after Cesc Fabregas was earlier ruled out for the remainder of the season.

"We have some bruises but we need to recover and then go to the next battle. Who will be available for the next one? I have to wait 24 hours more.

"William had a recurrence of his calf strain. That is at least three weeks. The next one is Arshavin - calf strain, three weeks.

"Gael Clichy is struggling with a back problem. He might need a breather as well. I don't know yet, we will assess that tomorrow. Denilson has a groin problem, we will assess that too.
"The first three are out, Clichy and Denilson are ‘possibles' to play at the weekend."

Looking for the positives, Wenger is hoping to welcome back a couple of fresh faces for the weekend's Premier League tie with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

"We have Silvestre and Campbell available," he said.

"Then of course there is Rosicky and Eduardo. Vela is coming back too."
One moment it seemed like we were having men back and have enough in our ammo, suddenly it seems all down-hill,injury list wise that is.Ludicrous!
Rooney wasn't touched? I thunk Gomez stepped on his toes and as he reacted. . . .he twisted his own ankle when he landed .
I have seen players come out unscathed after summersaulting and "landing" worse than Rooney in reaction to a mere nudge, hence the word freak.

Didn't Terry recover instantly have been wreck-balled by Diaby? And now Fab is out of the season by that seeminly innocuous challenge. It's ludicrous i tell ya.

Without a doubt, our league is the toughest.
38 tough games over a season with FA Cup + Carling Cup + UCL.
Besides, the bottom sides don't just roll-over like Xerez, Hertha Berlin, Hannover96, Livorno and Grenoble
Stoke and Blackburn kick the hell out of top players - rendering most of them useless before the end of the season.
Well that's still up for debate. . . i think it's more of the English set-up and tradition(robust challenges that borders on assault and brawling sometimes) than anything.Any neutral will tell you the fact Man U have copped the EPL 3 times in a row and still challenging for the fourth is a pointer to less competitiveness in the league. And for real, didn't we say that of the French league when it was Lyon's birth right undecided tongue

These things could be so ridiculuous, guess it is the season for freaky injuries.

Rooney copped one by twisting an ankle when he wasn't even touched, and Cesc "cracked" a bone via the most innocuous of all challenges,or so it seems.

Now let me just enjoy the rest of the season with less tension abeg angry

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (In Arsenal We Trust) by kaypumpin2(m): 3:43pm On Apr 01, 2010
Arshavin has been less impactful of late  so "resting" for 2 weeks(possibly to return against the Spuds) is not a big loss.Let's hope Nasri,Eboue and Rosicky stay injury free till his return. And i just hope he uses this time-out to get his scoring boots back. . .

Our midfield was non-existent yesterday as it seems all of them, especially Diaby were more interested in wtchin Xavi string together passes rather than close them down.

I think we should play a 4-5-1 at the Nou-camp,with one of the mid-fielder operating as a pseudo second striker when we try to catch them on a counter. That person must be Walcott with his pace.

Back to the prem,Wolves are building up the momentum at the moment(their match against Westham and Villa is a pointer to this fact) and i hope the lads wouldn't be distracted with the Nou camp assignment.I can bet McCarthy wouldn't play the same team he played at OT,oloshi tongue

Vela,Eduardo,Traore,Silvestre should all play a part in this game too as it seems we are stripped to the barest in just one match.

Evra and Sir Alex conspired to mess up my birthday.

They surely have to make amends at OT.

But why were Bayern celebrating like they have won the trophy? grin
Any team will celebrate been bailed at the death like that.

Evra reminded me of Clichy in the game against Birm @ St Andrews in 08;taking your eyes of the ball and been unaware of your "surrounding" in the eighteen is a NO-NO,especially with hard pressing players like Olic and Tevez around.

Can Man U come out unscathed of a double match up against Chelsea and Bayern with 4 days with the possibility of Rooney not being involved in one or both of the matches?Fingers crossed

BTW,i'm at sea over the decision to remove Park undecided

Nah Van Bommel got that mark because he played well.
Van Bommel might not have eaten Fletcher but he was simply the better player of the two on the night.
Although I can understand the word 'Eat' cuz that's what y'all use.
It is so funny how much difference that late goal by Olic made in people's rating.Forget about man to man comparison(Bommel/Fletcher) and look at Fletcher's over-all game,he was one of the best performer in a surprisingly dire United set-up.That dude has to be the most under-praised United player this term.He has add a creativity and flair to his game and seems to be iproving with each game.

I also believe Man United will go through.
It just won't be the foregone conclusion many peeps thought it would
The game comes at the heel of a Man U/Chelsea game and that makes it the more interesting. . .
Something tells me it MAY be decided via penalty. My fingers are crossed.

We will go through at Old Trafford.

But what happened to Wazza? Can it be metatarsal again?
It will be a let off for Chelsea if Wazza breaks leg o.

It's not metatarsal. . . . . .It's a twisted ankle. . .
He will be back in 3 weeks.
I will be happy if it is as i do not want that dude missing WC.

Man U just did an Arsenal tonight, you scored early, got enough chances to finish off your opponent and were dilly-dallying.I pray this wouldn't come back to hurt them real bad as they will be without Rooney at the OT and Arjen may be back.

You will definately get your money back, happened to me countless times and got full re-fund under 48hours.

The ONLY scenario where your fear will be genuine is when you have a compromised ATM card,as i experienced in December. Was in my room and i got a text alert for #60,000 debit from account.Suffice to state the same card was in my wallet during the time the text came in.

Isn't it obvious Chelsea is a better team without Drogba? His absence brings about the needed flair to make CA's tactics work.i.e no lobbing and thrusting of the ball to a tact-less lone striker who either gets lucky with his first touch and create something,or messes up big time when not given space and time to take that all important second touch.

You only need to look at Chelsea's performances when he was away for the ACN.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Birmingham (1) Vs Arsenal (1), Sat 27th March from 4PM Local Time by kaypumpin2(m): 6:19pm On Mar 27, 2010
When that ball went in,i felt so sick i could have had a seizure.I think we are out now as it is difficult to see where the twist can come again to swing things in our favour.

Al saved us last week and marred our chance of a shot at the title with his indeciveness when it matterd most. But then you had to look at the begging chances we lost after the first goal, the one from Arshavin and Nasri been the most glaring.

I think it is a straight fight between Chelsea and Man U now unless of course God is a gooner.
