Christianity EtcRe: Billyonaire, Kindly Accept My Supernatural Challenge To A Bet Amount by kayusbrown(m): 7:00pm On Apr 28, 2013
I believe there are basically two techniques used in explaining the existence, fundamental nature or essence of beings, entities, energies, phenomena e.t.c. They are Rationality and Empiricism. These two techniques have their individual limitations. Empiricism is limited to the realm of matter. The spiritual or ethereal realm is not composed of ''matter as we know it''. Thus, it's difficult (if not impossible) to provide an empirical proof of a mystical process (which those invoking such process don't even know why or how such process achieves what it achieves) which takes place in the spiritual or ethereal realm. So for those asking for empirical proof of the existence or potency of ethereal entities, beings, forces or energies, you may never get it until matter is re-defined or other human senses are evolved or developed to detect, observe, describe and analyse such beings etc.

WebmastersRe: Nairaland.com Redirecting To My.Naij.Com On Etisalat? by kayusbrown(m): 7:56pm On Feb 24, 2013
Some weeks ago, I opened a thread in 'Computer' section about Etisalat network failing to open facebook but lot of people ignored the thread. I knew something was wrong with their DNS servers. You can only access facebook through secure browisng (https) on their network. Sometimes when you visit Yahoo or google it will load a blank page with the message 'No site configured at this address'. I've mailed etisalat frequently and they keep insisting nothing is wrong with their network. With this latest development, I think I'm vindicated.

I need a reliable proxy server configuration. I'll appreciate if anyone can help.
CelebritiesRe: Lest We Immortalize Nuisance …the “goldie” Situation. by kayusbrown(m): 10:59am On Feb 22, 2013
bamto: While I agree largely with your line of thought, your submission that 'only those affected by her actions' should speak up is questionable. How do you measure that? And have you considered the ripple effect it has? Just one brainwashed member of a family that idolizes her can create problem for the whole family. And from a family, it spreads to a community and to the nation at large. Its like an open sore, if it's not treated on time, it is bound to become messier and occupy more space. And well, it wouldn't have mattered much if Goldie displayed her 'madness' in the confines of her house; but 'manifesting and propagating' same via the media deserve the sternest criticism for the above reasons.
And it's dearth of critical reasoning that makes people underestimate the place of correct values. When a 'star' preaches thru her lyrics and dressing lewdness, immorality and all forms of social vices, it shapens the kind of values the next generation accept and this affects every area of our national life.
Ever wonder why people say the words "It's non of your business"? We all have right to privacy and freewill. That right is called liberty. It is when such liberty is stretched to the extreme, such that it begins to trample on the rights of others, that it can be questioned. In that case, what is "non of my business" becomes "part of my business" if it affects me. However, at the end, we still have a choice to make. We can either decide to behave like the artiste we watch on TV or choose to live a different life based on our personal moral convictions. There are dedicated Christians who don't listen to or watch sexually suggestive music/videos because it contradicts their personal spiritual belief and chosen way of life. They had a choice to make and they made the one that suits them. I have my personal moral convictions, but I can't force it on anybody or castigate them for not doing it my own way. The best counsel I can give is remind people that there will always be CONSEQUENCES!
CelebritiesRe: Lest We Immortalize Nuisance …the “goldie” Situation. by kayusbrown(m): 7:06pm On Feb 21, 2013
Moral issues are always controversial and complicated. What determines the moral correctness or wrongness of a deed is the perspective from which the deed is viewed or the basis on which the deed is judged. Endless arguments results when the perspective or basis of judgement is not agreed upon. The author of the article judged Goldie from his (the author's) religious perspective or personal moral convictions which Goldie perhaps was not under any obligation to comply with. Life is all about choices. Choices that definitely come with their consequences. What makes us human is the ability to choose how we want to live our life. Even God does not choose for us how to live our lives, He only suggests the best way and leaves us to choose with divine guidance (our conscience) and warning that there will be consequences for every choice made. Castigating individuals for the choices they make, when the consequences of those choices does not affect us, is like denying them the right to live and live freely. Goldie made her choices while she was alive and that's all that matters. I'm sure she faced the consequences of her choices while she was alive and if such consequences extends to the afterlife, she alone will face it. Those who have the rights to complain about the choices she made are the ones who probably were affected by those choices like her Widower, her immediate family members e.t.c and I've not heard anyone of them complaining about how she lived her life.
Christianity EtcRe: Types Of Yoruba Names That May Not Enter The Book Of Life (demonic Names) by kayusbrown(m): 10:23pm On Jan 13, 2013
@OP The names are pointers to the fact that Yoruba people have their religion and tradition before the incursion of foreign religion. In Yoruba tradition, every name must have a meaning! That's very important. I believe you think Christians with those name will not be saved because of the meaning of their names. Now the question is: what is the meaning of names like John, Peter, Mathew, James, Paul e.t.c. that you think people answering such names will enter the kingdom of God?

Seems the problem is with Etisalat network cos the site loads fine on other network. I contacted their customer service but they insisted the problem is not with their network. I may have to dump their modem if the problem persists.

Thanks for the reply. I connect directly to the internet without going through any proxy server. It seems the problem is with ETISALAT network that I use in accessing the internet because the site loads fine whenever I switch to another Internet Service Provider. While you sit down there and continue to doubt, the progressive Americans are already tapping into the limitless
opportunities that IFA offers!

American Ifa

The Ifa Foundation of North America is proud to introduce American Ifa.

American Ifa is the result of more than 25 years of study and examination of the ancient philosophy of the Yoruba culture of West Africa.

Long before the advent of what we now consider scientific truths, the Yoruba discovered, and utilized, the basic energies that comprise the matrix of our planet. Far from being primitive, or simplistic, these Truths required brilliant analytical techniques, and analysis. The understanding of these Truths, and the sophisticated instructions for utilizing them, allowed the Ifa Devotee to maintain health, balance and fulfillment in their life. With them, the future could be glimpsed and the present could be modified.

As other philosophies encroached on the Yoruba culture, these universal truths, which had been freely open to adapt to change and cultural differences, suddenly became codified. This desire to "freeze frame" the inherently fluid YorubaTruths, by writing them down as "the word," began to castrate the power and truth the energies had to offer.

Other corruption's of these Truths came along. The Christian Missionaries imposed a "Devil"; Tribalism, Nationalism, Catholicism; all took increasingly devastating bites from the effectiveness of these universal truths. Each and everyone had their own agenda.and it was no longer the agenda of understanding and utilizing the inherent energies of the universe for the benefit of all.

Equally destructive, as the freeze frame western religions retreated from the Cartesian logic of Science, they turned away from the secular world. They offered you the proposition that you could either be spiritual, or you could be temporal, but you couldn't be both. In so doing they took the integrated holistic view of the Yoruba philosophy and ripped it into two parts.

American Ifa is based upon putting those parts back together again. We are stripping away the Nationalism, fear, dependence and contradictions that have adhered themselves like barnacles to the hull of this beautiful and powerful philosophy. It is about effectively freeing these basic universal truths to function in the Western society we are part of.

Most important, it is about being able to practice and utilize these truths without segregating ourselves from the rest of society or our community. It is not a philosophy for the superstitious and uneducated. It is a powerful system designed by, and for, thoughtful, intelligent individuals who want the very best from this lifetime.

If you seek to go back in time, if you thrive on the psychodrama of evil eyes and spells, this is not the site for you. If, however, you want to be successful, if you want long, loving and lasting relationships, if you want to be a worthwhile part of your family and your community, if you want to be involved in a career that brings you challenges and rewards, then American Ifa can give you the tools to do so.

American Ifa

After more than 25 years of examination and study, The Ifa Foundation of North America has reached the following conclusions:

1. Religion was meant to be the repository for the highest levels of practical knowledge and wisdom

2. Religion was meant to demonstrate the practical application of Universal, and timeless truths, for improving our lives

3. For Truths to be Universal and timeless they MUST be able to adapt, and apply, to the context and culture they are to be utilized in

4. Ethical behavior and good character are the only logical ways of applying these truths

5. Timeless and Universal Truths must apply to all people, regardless of race, nationality, gender or sexual orientation, in order to be valid

6. For a philosophy to be meaningful, it must address all aspects of our existence. This includes the temporal/monetary aspects of our lives as well as the spiritual and emotional components of our energy matrix.

7. Ifa is a philosophy for applying practical Universal truths to achieve success in all aspects of our lives.

8. Truth, regardless of where it is discovered, belongs to all people

9. For truth to be worthwhile, and meaningful, it must create independence and personal empowerment

10. Fear, control, manipulation and dependence destroy, and render useless, those Truths

11. Truth, as wisdom, must continue to grow and adapt if it is to be meaningful

12. Truth must enhance the symbiotic relationship between individual, family, community and Earth if its capacity for change is to be worthwhile

In the coming weeks we will explore each of these areas in order to provide thoughtful Westerners' the logical understanding of Ifa.

Blessings,

Oluwo Philip Neimark

The third World War will be a religious war. Muslims and Christians will face each other and fight to the finish. Presently, the World Christian Population is over 2 billion (still counting) while Muslims all over the World are about 1.5billion (still counting and growing rapidly). Two-third of the World population may be wiped out during the third World War. After the War, Christianity and Islam will be demonized! The remaining world population will then start to search for the true religion. They will then embrace IFA. IFA itself has said its message will be ignored until the 11th hour (Irole Aye)! The wise ones are already learning IFA in preparation for the future. Visit www.ifafoundation.org for more information.

Our problem is not the system but the people that run the system! Electoral college system will change nothing. What we need is National value re-orientation, attitudinal change and character reformation of every corrupt Nigerian. We must place patriotism above selfishness and excessive materialism. Above all, we must love one another genuinely regardless of religious or tribal divide.

Christianity EtcRe: If We Are To Love Our Enemies, Are We Not To Love Satan? by kayusbrown(m): 3:14pm On Sep 21, 2012
Logically it means you should ''love'' Satan. Now before you use this verse of the Bible as an excuse to do the Devil's bidding remember karma: for whatever a man soweth he reapeth! Christ told us to love our enemies cos we will be doing ourselves lots of good by doing so. Why? The law of karma is sacrosanct just like other eternal laws therefore you'll reap whatever evil you sow whether in thoughts or deeds even if it is against your enemies! The word love in this context simply means retaliating evil with good.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Issues In Dangote’s Graduate Drivers Scheme By Jarus by kayusbrown(m): 2:14pm On Aug 22, 2012
I don't support the idea that driving job demeans graduates. In a messy economic situation like we have in Nigeria coupled with high rate of unemployment and insecurity, surviving through any legal means possible should be the priority of any level-headed graduate. However, SAFETY must not be compromised in the quest for survival and efforts to earn a living. The extremely poor state of our trunk roads and insecurity in most part of the country are severe threats to the life of anybody (not only intending graduate drivers) driving on the roads. I have met and interacted with some truck drivers especially those who haul goods from the south to the northern axis of the country. Their reckless driving that we complain about is a result of the frustration they pass through everyday, as a result of these bad roads and robbery attacks, which has affected lots of them psychologically. Most of them spend all their earnings(without savings) cos they feel they can die anytime. They do this by enjoying themselves with concubines at several towns along their route. Most of them never wanted the job cos of the danger involved; they only accepted it as a last resort which is what any graduate picking up this job will be doing(don't mean to judge anybody). As long as the roads remain bad and insecurity persists, employing Ph.D holders as drivers will not end the carnage on our roads.

''The most disastrous aspect of colonisation, which you are the most reluctanct to release from your mind, is their colonisation of the image of God''-Dr. Frances Cress-Welsing.
All religions are products of human imagination. Man created religion in an attempt to answer questions like; Who am I? Why do I exist? Where did I come from? What's my role in existence? Will I cease to exist after death? If no, where will I be after death? Does what I do here determines where I will be after death? How... What... Why... the questions goes on.
The sad news is, NO religion has verifiable answers to these questions. That's why they emphasise faith (irrational conviction) when they attempt to answer these questions.

The good news however is African Traditional religion is one of the few religions that provides honest and rational answer to some of these questions. The IFA TRADITIONAL RELIGION of the Yoruba race is an example.

@OP If your need for religion is based on the quest for answer to some these questions, do not hesitate to practice your traditional religion. However, if the economic, social or political gains derivable from practicing or associating with a religion is your priority as against the mystery the religion attempts to unfold, I'll advice you stick to your Christianity.

He's simply being diplomatic as is expected of a leader. There is no point pointing accusing fingers now that he has secured the people's mandate. In politics, there are no permanent enemies or permanent friends but permanent interests. He had raised alarm in the early hours of the election when he suspected foul play by INEC in favour of PDP.
