I am saddened by the commentss I read so far from people. Some places do not even have electric poles Some places av electricity in less than 2 days per week Only a few places have a near-constant electricity supply. The situation is worrisome despite the billions of dollars that are spent on power supply yearly Despite the various committees that have been constituted in the last 12 Years to look into power availability in the country. As nigerians, we deserve a better leadership. Leadership that invests massively in the future of her nation. Leadership that invests hugely into development of her people. A good citizen makes a good nation. May the labour of our heroes past don't go in vain |
jjcbuthot: Will you shut up your mouth? Do you have to be searching to see improvement?Must you hurl insults @ people before you make your opinions known? |
SLIDE waxie: bros, this is the raining season, selve your thanksgiving- asslickin ceremony for the dry season wen water level will be low!Mumu....u dare call ogbomoso a village. A town that boasts of the prestigious lautech. Village or not, things are getting better |
[quote author=dapachez]Where in ogbomoso do you get up to 20 hours of electricity in a day? Please go to apake all the way to Randa area through to Ora park and ask people that live there how the light situation is like or better still go to Bowen university teaching hospital there and ask the security at the gate the power situation and then give us here another feedback. I know the light situation in lautech area, under G and towards that illorin side is better but don't just come here and generalise. The voltage in all the previously mentioned area(apake, randa, ora, californa n around the local government secretariat) is always low and I keep wondering why cos there are no industries in ogbomoso so why the low voltage. I stay in adenike area...close to the school. I understand the condition of electricity in those areas you mentioned. But electricity is still stable in areas like aduin, owode etc all within ogbomoso. |

NGF crisis was planned -Aregbesola 2013-07-05 23:00:42 Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State has said that the crisis in the Nigeria Governors' Forum was orchestrated. Aregbesola spoke while responding to questions during his visit to PUNCH Place, headquarters of PUNCH Nigeria Limited, on Friday. He said the scenario that played out after the NGF election was premeditated. He said, "Some people deliberately wanted to discredit a process that had been proven to be very organised, peaceful and without rancour. "It takes two to tango and the best position is not neutrality. Look, let's call a spade what it is. I won't say more because I am a principal actor in the entire thing. "We all know what was wrong but I think we are timid to say it. We cannot use an orchestrated and deliberate smear to castigate all governors. We all know the interest behind what happened. If we are not courageous enough to apportion blame, let's be quiet. I rest my case." The governor said the South-West had not reneged on its pursuit for federalism. He, however, regretted that he had been accused of infringing on the constitution in his campaign of federalism, adding, "I am a strong advocate of federalism." He also reiterated his call for regional integration in the South-West, especially in addressing issues of common interest. He said, "A lot of things would be non-issues if addressed on a regional basis. For instance, the issue of crime control and security is so paramount that all of us are investing in security surveillance, aerial space surveillance to eliminate opportunistic attacks. "These people know that they can move easily within a region but with such joint effort, it will not be possible. Besides, it will cost a lesser amount." On the issue of the state government owning a helicopter despite its meagre resources, Aregbesola said he did not see anything frivolous about it. He explained that although the idea was dropped after it could not sail through, the state had opted for it to boost its response to emergencies and security-related issues. "We expected that with this, we should be able to rescue, support and intervene if there is an emergency. "We began by investing in an alert system that notifies the appropriate quarters in seconds when there is an emergency or a threat. We thought that the helicopter service would complement this by providing immediate help instead of going through the roads and taking hours to reach the point where help is needed," he said. Aregbesola said the Osun N4bn cargo airport project was in keeping with his administration's goal of grooming its economy to become a key commercial hub. He said, "We are still building an economy that will be privately owned. We need to banish poverty by empowering Nigerians to earn their sustenance. "Having the cargo airport in Osun is important because it will be an incentive to investors instead of the unattractive roads and the danger they portend. "Osun is the heartland of 33million Yoruba people in the world. Imagine 200,000 visitors coming to Osun in a year and spending $I,000 each, that is $200m. It will amortise the investment on the airport. "We said at the outset that we will run an unusual government. Having an airport in Osun should not even be a problem because it had the first airstrip in Nigeria according to history." He also said that the state had boosted its agricultural sector through its periodic feeding of pupils. http://mobile.punchng.com/output.php?link=http://www.punchng.com/news/ngf-crisis-was-planned-aregbesola/ |
Reptyle: if you dont believe his statement, come to my area, Satellite town, Oriade LCDA, Lagos and see man's inhumanity to man! come and see how darkness has taken over the area. If we get 8 hrs of light per week, we'd throw a party. But all the same, I still believe things are getting as per electricity stability. It may be long though, but we will surely get thr. Plus, we need to hear from people in other areas of the country. |
BabaAlabi: What's your laptop number? Stop coming here to spread lies because the power situation is terrible AF...8 hours of light in 1 week...The fact that electricity is still epileptic in your area doesn't mean its the same generally. We are still developing, but with time we will surely get there. I will still say things have gotten better interms of electricity supply atleast in this part of the country. And btw, I don't believe your statement, "8 hours of light in 1 week...". |
Laudate II: Well, if electricity in your area has improved, I am happy for you. However, pls forgive me if I do not join your thanksgiving service.I can understand your plight, infact I have also experience such. But am sure that with time, things are gonna get fixed. Indeed, by this year's end, remarkable improvements will be experienced. We need to state our problems to the authorities so they can know where to come in |
Thanks for the info, The site is user-friendly though. Just finished my registration, what remains now is goin to their office for the biometric I love nairaland |
It is a common thing for kids to play together and in the process go violent. Kids may fight or beat one another while playing together although such doesn't last and they get to play together once again. But in certain situations, some parents become unsettled and intervene in favour of their kids which may in turn cause a misunderstanding between parents if not properly handled. Parents, have you ever intervene on behalf of your kids? Also, what is the best thing to do if situations like that arise? |
With the various reforms that are been put in place by federal govt in the power sector and with the commissioning of several power projects and their addition into the national grid, I believe strongly that things have gotten much better in terms of electricity supply in the country. Electricity supply in my area has improved greatly over the last one month. It was initially @ 8 hours out of 24 hours but has now risen to average 20 hours out of 24 hours. This is a significant improvement on the part of the FG. Let's know the present electricity situation in your area. ( I reside in ogbomoso, oyo state nigeria) |
Useless sets of people.... Apologizing on behalf of amaechi. I don't know when it is now becomes an insult to stand firmly and refusing to bow to pressure. They are even apologizing to dame patience jonathan....clowns indeed. Abeg, make gej give dem money quickly. We all know money is all they need and that's wmy they went all the way to abuja to spew rubbish. Joblesness is a serious problem indeed |
Misplaced priority.... What a collosal waste of resources..... The funds should have been diverted into massive human development. The nysc can still b restructured such that intense vocational education be taught to corpers. This will make them independent of the govt after the scheme instead of wasting money. Great nations of the world invest greatly in human resources development. |

Kudos to LASG.... Kudos to fashola..... Gradually, the SW is preparing herself for the inevitable breakup of nigeria. Some zones in nigeria are only giants by mouth. Always claiming to be what they are not and getting angry @ other people's progress. But in the sw, we follow our words with actions. Long live lagos.... Long live the southwestern nigeria |
After using anambra money to buy exotic cars for the useless traditional rulers in the state, he deem it fit to retire. Kudos to him........ That's why he is actively praise-singing GEJ...he doesn't want to have problem with d funds he looted when he leaves office.... Sharp igbo man |
I don't know why our igbo brothers are taking panadol for another man's headache. Iyaloja is a yoruba title, the market women are not complaining. Even my fellow yorubas are not complainig because we know that's the way things are done here. Traditional titles are mostly hereditary here in yorubaland, only with few exceptions. Find better things to do with your time |
Whether her daughter is qualified or not... Tinubu will be a fool to allow d iyaloja position go to the opposition camp or outside his grip. It is a great electioneering instrument. Those of you that wonder why tinubu is so powerful in lagos, this is part of the areas tinubu derive his power and influence. Even if you shout from now till tommorow, that cannot change. The market women are also aware of this and that's why none of them could protest the decision. Even the oba of lagos is fully aware of this... Onto the next topic joooor |
dirtymoney: then i pray that your son does'nt make it there. So we could all go our seperate ways. Our son had gone, had seen and had conquered... Awa ti g'oke odo, k'afara o to ja. Eyin t'oku kee mura..... |
Find better things to do with your time rather than cry over split milk. Your job of praise-singing for obanikoro will take you nowhere. A word is enough for the wise |
hollandis: is it is money he used.why are the singing his name...I regret being a nigerian ewwwwwwwwww.will never marry a nigerian. .will never date one...foolish sadistic and mediore nationRetrogressive people like you are the reasons this country is still backward. So u regret been a nigerian...you should also regret using a nigerian forum to air your opinion. Get lost...mtchewwwww |
An articulate write-up... This communicates nothing but the truth in its purest form. Indeed, BRF is needed @ the centre as a matter of urgency. His likes are examples of who this country desperately needs in this period of retrogression. God bless fashola... God bless nigeria |
A responsible govt like this is what we crave for in the southwest. Not.. "Our son must be there or else nigeria divides" God bless fashola Eko o ni baje |
God bless the commissioner... God bless fashola..... Eko o ni baje lai lai |
Desola: This sh1t has gone too far! Way too far!!!Why ur own too much sef.... Or u wan bcum iyaloja. If its akiolu and the entire chiefs and kingmakers that have appointed her, then there is nothing anyone can do. T'oba l'ase.....a king's word is final |
Anyi.: |
Money wtout power is meaningless...but in the world of 2day, Money is essential b4 power can be attained. A poor man can't attain power cos of his financial status, however it is much easier for likes of dangote, adenuga to mingle with powerful people cos they already have the universal language which is wealth. In short, Money gives power influence if channeled properly |
I pray and hope this marks the end of this retrogresive party called pdp. They have done more harm to this country than good. A house divided against itself... |
@Op...find better things to do. No amount of ur denigratin posts abt gmb can bring hin down. Noone here has argued intellectually on why gmb is not fit to lead ds country...everyone has based his/her arguments on ethnic or religious sentiments. I really pity the future of ds country if these are the youths we put our hopes on to make ds country better. So you want ds backwardness to continue, don't u ever think of waking up one day in this country and b confident that unemployment, epileptic power supply av bcum things of the past. No amount of money u receive frm these looters can make ur life and that of ur unborn generations better. Wot step has pdp/jonathan taken to better ur life as a youth? Infact, I smh for u and ur types praising clueless jonathan. U re the real problems of nigeria. |
PDP in dilemma over govs who 'betrayed' Jang 2013-06-19 23:34:42 The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party is in a dilemma on what to do to governors who refused to vote for Governor Jonah Jang during the Nigeria Governors' Forum election. Investigations by our correspondent in Abuja on Wednesday showed that since the outcome of the election, which showed that the Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, was re-elected as the chairman of the Forum, both the PDP and the Presidency had yet to get the names of those who voted against Jang. Jang, the preferred candidate of the PDP and President Goodluck Jonathan for the office, was defeated by Amaechi. While Jang scored 16 votes, Amaechi garnered 19 votes. But on Tuesday, the Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, opened up on the list of the governors he said refused to follow the path laid by the PDP, as they voted for Amaechi. Lamido said nine PDP governors voted for Amaechi at the June 4 election that later divided the forum. Apart from himself, those he listed as voting for Amaechi were "the governor of Kano, the governor of Niger, the governor of Kebbi, the governor of Sokoto, the governor of Kwara, and the governor of Adamawa." He defended his position and those of others by saying that the NGF election was not meant to be a PDP affair. Lamido said it was wrong "for one group (PDP) to come and say 'this is your leader, let's present him to the nation'." Lamido's revelation was said to have rattled the Presidency and the leadership of the PDP. However, investigations by our correspondent showed that both organs did not know what to do with the affected governors. A Presidency source said both the Presidency and the party had been investigating those behind the disobedience, which he said was very embarrassing. He said it was unfortunate that Lamido could also have the "temerity" to own up to his and co-travellers' alleged anti-party activities. But when contacted, the outgoing National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh, refused to speak on whether the party would take a disciplinary action against the affected governors. Metuh said, "I would not want to make any comment on the NGF. Whatever happened there is the business of the governors and not that of the PDP." http://mobile.punchng.com/output.php?link=http://www.punchng.com/news/pdp-in-dilemma-over-govs-who-betrayed-jang/ |
