Islam › 3 Lessons From The Just Concluded Ramadan. by Kazrem(op): 3:07pm On Jul 06, 2016 |
Glory be to Allah. Ramadan has come and gone. Allah be glorified for successfully completing it. It's not by our might nor knowledge. But by the wish of Allah.
As usual, I don't let anything go by without learning from it. This Ramadan is not an exception. Here are 3 lessons I learnt in this year's Ramadan.
1. Everything that has a beginning must have an end. Only Allah, the Supreme has neither beginning nor an end. At first, it seems the 30 of fasting was like 30 months for some. But in a twinkle of an eye, it has gone. Just like yesterday. The lesson ro our life is that pains don't last forever. Neither does enjoyment. If that is known, you don't fist on everything you have. Share. Also, you don't grieve forever over a tribulation that befalls you. It's a phase. It will soon be over. "Whatever that is coming has gone. And what has come, has gone" - My mentor
2. Self Realization. Then you realize you can read one complete Qur'an in a month. Even 2. Perhaps 3. You discover you can stand up for tahajud every night. If not for Ramadan some won't know they can sleep late, wake up for tahajud and yet go to work on time. That's one of the powerful lessons of the month.
3. Only Allah decides. He is supreme in His dominion. Most people had thought Monday would be the last day of Ramadan and Tuesday would be Eid, including the writer. In fact I traveled on Monday hoping Tuesday would be Eid. The Federal government too had hastily declared Tuesday and Wednesday as public holiday. But Allah in His supremacy decides Wednesday to be Eidil Fitri. What does that mean. People plan, Allah decides. He is the Supreme decider. If the whole world wants something to be and He doesn't, that thing won't be. And if He wants something to be and the whole world doesn't, that thing will be. If that is the case, what you have today, what you are going through today it's the manifestation of His decision. Not yours. Because He is the Supreme decider.
Eidil Mubaraq. May Allah accept our worships and grant our heart desires.

engrjoseph208: I have been a guest on nairaland for 4 years. This is my first topic here. PLEASE DO NOT READ WITHOUT GIVING YOUR COMMENT, THANKS.
In December 2014, I met this beautiful woman while I was enjoying the xmas and new year festivals with my parents in Ibadan. She is schooling here but lives in Ogun state. I never thought we could go far, so I wanted to chop and clean mouth. I was serving at the time and I told her I was serving at Abuja instead of Kwara state. After my NYSC I told her I have settled down in Abuja instead of Oyo state. I have a well-paid job and live comfortably but everything is in Oyo state and not FCT. I didn’t want her to know I am living nearby because I didn’t see a future with her at the time. She didn’t appear to me as a good girl when we met, I thought she was a runs girl but now I know I was wrong, she is even more innocent than me and she gets all I crave for in a lady. Well, I picked her up by the roadside but I didn’t get to sleep with her but we became friends and she still thinks I served, live and work in FCT. We usually see when there is a festivity or holiday like easter, xmas etc. under the pretext that I came to celebrate with my parents. Anyways, I want to propose to her now. I don’t know how to tell her the truth because we are now in love and I do not want to lose her. PLEASE NAIRALANDERS HOW DO I GO ABOUT THIS WITHOUT LOSING HER. Bros. It's not too hard. Similar thing happened to me 7 years ago. Mine was worse. But when I realized we had both fell in love with each other, I told her the truth. And you know what? She too lied to me. Our love deepened more. It was as if we never had a lover before. PS: We didn't end up marrying each other. Not because of the above but because of distance. |

Motivational speakers have seen a line. Mind you, he dropped out when he discovered his talent and realized he had a better way to success. Despite his fame, he has the plan to go back to study. This is what our self acclaimed motivational speakers, as my big e-bros Jarus used to call them, will not tell us. |

smileoly: Please I want to know if my admission is still valid or if I need to reapply. I got admission for pgd in education in Feb 2005, but was not verified because I didn't have my original certificate. Now my original certificate is available and I am ready to register for the program. Do I apply again for the 2016/2017 session or will the database see me as someone that already had admission in 2015? You meant you got admitted 2005 or 2015. If it is the latter, your admission is still very much intact. If latter, I can't say. |
