AltMon2: Desmond Elliot has broken down in tears on Live TV, following the backlash he's receiving from Nigerians over social media regulation.
Recall that the former actor, at the Lagos State House of Rep in his submission, pushed for passing if social media regulation bill.
the controversial statement received lots of criticisms, as many Nigerian youths boast him for referring to youths as “children” and for also pushing for the regulation of social media.
Desmond Elliot in a new interview on Arise TV broke down in tears. This came after he apologized for his statement earlier.
ogododo: Former Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Usman on Thursday claimed that Military personnel who shot protesters at Lekki toll gate used ‘blank ammunition.
Usman in an interview with Arise News said the blank ammunition used to disperse protesters has little or no effect on its target.
Recall that the Army had earlier denied that its officers were present at the scene of the shooting.
But on Wednesday, the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army (NA) revealed that the Lagos State Government invited the military to intervene during the End SARS protests.
Speaking on Thursday Usman said, “If you look at the canisters, they were blank ammo and blank ammo don’t even kill. At a close range, maybe 100metres – maybe it will have some pigmentation on your skin.
“Remember the military are armed and by the nature of their training, they are trained to kill and I think the military in its wisdom instead of using live ammunition decided to use blank armour which is meant for training. "I think they should be commended for that otherwise there would have been serious collateral damage, but they were professional enough to have done that.”
A Nigerian man, Muhammad Yahaya has said all the videos circulating on social media about the Lekki massacre are from movie scenes.
While giving his view on the shooting incident that took place on Tuesday, 20th October 2020 at the Lekki tollbooth, the man said there was no shooting on the said day.
According to him, all the videos shared on social media are movie scenes cropped and shared by social media users claiming to be a massacre when none of such a horrific event happened

OK2NVME: As a young military officer stationed in Abeokuta, Buhari led a contingent of troops to quell demonstrators protesting the arrest of Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
He ordered his troops under his command to open fire at the crowd which saw to over 90 people killed.
For his role, he was personally congratulated by the then PM.

After the Lekki shootings, Arise News said there were snippers on the last floor of Access Bank Head Office building in Lekki.
That singular post got people angry, and it contributed to the setting so many of Access Bank's branches on fire.
The Bank immediately responded that it was a maintenance man that was carrying out maintenance work at the building.
Arise TV later brought down the post, but the havoc had been wreaked. The news had gone viral.
About 30 branches of Access Bank were vandalised and looted. Some were set ablaze, including the cars parked.
The newly commissioned roads constructed by Access Bank few weeks ago, linking Yesufu Abiodun, Ligali Ayorinde, Akinbolagbe and Muri Okunola Extension were destroyed due to the fake news by Arise TV.
All the beautiful palm trees planted were removed. Flower pots used in lining the roads like you're out of the country, concrete pots, submersible pumps for wetting flowers were all destroyed and removed by the sons of Belial.
Now, a lot of people think Government is out to witch-hunt Arise TV, because they don't know the extent of the havoc done by fake news.
I will be surprised if the Bank does not sue the Arise TV Station. Arise TV didnt do well at all.
