Let me also bring to your notice Mr. President, that when you became our GCFR, I couldn't but shade tears of joy, cos it was alien to me seeing us occupy the number one seat of this country. Mr. President, am disturbed because I was at Liberation Stadium on that day when you came and promised us, how you intend creating employments in the down stream sector. What have we seen, you have given that down stream sectors to ex-millitants Ateke (who single handedly bomb Okrika and is now referred to as ' god-father' in my state because of you) Asari, Fara and the rest to take care of pipelines that securities operatives would done better if they were given the same financial reward you gave to those thieves and at the same time, it would have boost of our oil production. Am not happy with you cos, anytime, I see your Minister of Education in PH, he is always campaigning for you without giving me a good reason to thump print for your party. All he says is simple, don't mind Amaechi, GEJ is our brother, just vote for him. Haba! Have you asked your minister since he is a minister, what exactly is his contribution to our state education or Federal at large? Instead, he gives phantom contracts running hundreds of millions to politically jobbers (Awuse, Nwuche and Opara). And they pay him back with loyality Mr. President I rest my case, like I said, complete the east-west road then we will think about it. |
3. Why should Mr. President revised the 2nd phase of NLNG in Port Harcourt paid for by Late Yara Adua to Bayelsa? 4. What happened to the Air Force College that was supposed to be sited in Port Harcourt even after the late President has signed the deal? 5. Why should only those that carry guns in Niger Delta be the ones that benefits in this government? 6. Why did he abandon Bonny-Bodo road, which Obasanjo started. 7. What of Ogoni-UNEP report implementation? There are several grievances I have with Mr. President, that I can't list all here. Mr. President, you can only get my vote in 2015, if you can complete the east-west road that cut across all part of Port Harcourt. If you don't, then expect me relocating to Lagos, so that my vote will count, remember how you got 2million something vote in Rivers last time. I won't be part of that mess. Just complete that road, then the other sins will be forgiven. You have sited projects in our neighbouring states, Ibom or whatever sea ports, Delta also even Abia. Offcourse the whole country knows how partial you are in seeding oil well that belongs to Kula to Nembe What of Cross River State? You have also done much of them I think so, I am a Rivers man, interested to know who has good intentions. Now, you have divided the Ijaws against themselves, Ikwerres against themselves, Orashis are fighting themselves. Even the Ogonis are not left out. Please, Mr. President, if you can't help Rivers State because you don't like the Governor, then you are a Bad man. Rant Over! |
I am a well known critic of Mr. President not because of Mr. Amaechi my Governor. But, because of his unfulfilled promises in my State 'ala' Liberation Stadium February 2011 Presidential rally where 11 people died and several injured. I will be listing out his unfulfilled promises on that day and also will explaining my problem with some of my south easterners who sees him as the messiah. More to follow... The President promise the youths employment through the ongoing negotiation between the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and foreign investors, who will invest in the nation’s petrochemical industry. Explaining that the Niger Delta should be the hub of petrochemical industry in Africa, Jonathan maintained that Nigeria must work hard to achieve such a goal or risk losing the opportunity to other countries. Calling on Niger Delta youths to embrace peace in order not to scare aware investors from the country, the President assured that they (youths) would benefit from the Petroleum Industry Bill before the National Assembly. He argued that no person would want to invest in any environment that was unsafe and urged the youths to cooperate with the federal and state governments to ensure that peace reigns in the region. *That down stream sector will soon be sold. 2. No single FG project in Rivers State. I don't care if he has problem with Amaechi or not. My question is. Is the young man Rivers State? And before any slowpoke comes here to tell me about Amaechi's allocation, the person or persons as the case may be should not fail to tell me what FG has done with its allocation in the state. |
This is my humble contribution. 1. Return to Fiscal Federalism. 2.Weaken Abuja powers 3. Feeding bottle government should stop. Abuja is the problem of Nigeria, when everything is center there. What do you expect? Look at all the trouble in this country. All are linked to Abuja. Until Abuja stop feeding all the other states. Then, we will be discussing the same thing in the next ten years. If we have a system that works, even the so called corrupt Youths will composed themselves. After all, our leaders that loots money all travel abroad and behave like gentlemen. So our system is the problem. What do you expect from a country that the FG takes 52% of oil revenue and gives 36 states plus FCT 48 percents to States and LGA. Until, our systems are restructured, then we are far from seeing the country we all dream of. National Conference is a waste time, cos my people the south-south (Rivers) in particular will want resource control, the North will vote against it. Since our GEJ said the conference must be determined by the NASS |
chidindufrank: Yes there is change. Under the able leadership of Dr Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan Nigeria started experiencing positive changes in all sectors. The president is committed in giving Nigerian a new look,he has displayed great leadership skills that has never been felt before in the history of the nation. If Jonathan can achieve so much within 2 1/2 years of being our leader, then there is hope that before he completes his tenure in 2019 that this country will be a force to reckon with in the world. I believe in positive change and we are seeing it manifest right now.Goodluck Nigeria!!!!!!!!!!!Where you in this country when Yara Adua was alive? You would taken back your statement. |
This one pass me O. I dey greet the house. Mek una no fight o. I am a Christian and am never intolerant to Muslims or any other religion cos I am a Christian not by religion. But is my way of life. As for Nigerian Atheists, it is well with all your souls. I hope you seek the truth which is confessing that Jesus is Lord. But if you insist on your path. I wish well. After al, nobody knw whr all d peeps wey dey die daily dey nw. But, for security sake, come to Jesus, so that, if truly Christianity is false no problem, but, if it is right. It is a win-win situation. You enjoy on earth and life after. The Word really works. |
I hope the four posers will also be looked into. Or better still, all the questions raised should be answer without throwing tantrums at each other. Let the revolution begins. We deserve to know how much the FG gets and how much is actually shared to the 36 states and LGAs. These figures should not only center on Rivers alone, but the other 35 states including the FCT. There, we can hold them accountable. I hope Amaechi understand the fight he is getting into. The battle line has already been drawn, so is fight to finish and we will see who blinks first. |
Yes Umuahia is a clean town not City. The capital is too small. Obio/Akpor in Rivers State is more expansive in size than Umuahia. Now, to the pictures the OP is displaying here. It is just a straight road. I have been visiting the city for a while. My mate from Umuahia told me that, their Governor is yet to dualized one road or even build one. Is just like saying Amaechi constructed Aba Road in Port Harcourt because he fixed the street lights, that is the case of the road you are seeing the OP posted. |
Let him contest, he has the right. But, will he get my vote. That is what I will decide at the polling booth. |
againstGEJ: I DARE SR to write their news with the names of their source instead of always saying our source.Lame. You expose your source. How do you then sustain your investigation. Let the FG take SR to court, let's see who is deceiving who. Remember GEJ was a product of the same people (SR) when they leaked the return of Yara Dua nicodemusly. |
Ogogoro is 100% alcoholic. Do you not understand, it can make you not think well. Our country is already dancing skelewu. |
Respect to a man that should be alive. A man that corruption is alien to. A man that speed up the completion of Onne-Ette Road (East-West Road). He was a man that can't be pushed around. A true Nigerian. He even made sure NLNG HQ was relocated to Port Harcourt, even though his successor has stalled the completion of the 2nd phase of NLNG even when Yaradua has paid completely for it. Baba of 'Rule of Law' Take a bow my Hero and R.I.P |
Keneking: Better...the man is 80 years plus...Jonathan dey find person wey him go kill.Put an Ijaw man? We are talking of 500bn naira unaccountable for. If an Ijaw man is given the platform. Eh eh.. Dat figure na childs wey go carry wings. We better look at the savings of the Sure-P funds from 2012, and ask where has the money gone to? Since the Minister of Finance says, the ECA has been funding the SURE-P. Then, where is the saved SURE-P funds. I hope the retired man can please make a little explanation before he finally retires. |
Some of you reason like primary school kids, especially the so called "social critics". Back in the Babangida time, Tail Solarin led a very serious protest in and around Lagos, because they said Ebony published a news story about the extravagant life style of Babangida and his family. Right there on national TV, they gave Solarin a copy of the said Ebony newspaper so he can show Nigerians where the said story came from, but alas, the man was disgraced because there was no such story published by the magazine, it was all lies. The same way, SR publishes half truths or even outright lies knowing that gullible folks like those on this thread will take it hook line and sinker and then hope the public negativity against the government will help then as its helping them on this thread. SR has told so many lies which you are all aware of, but because you will all rather believe lies than to believe the truth, you will pretend like they always tell the truth.
I beg to know some of the lies. Can you outline or list few for me. |
AjaraEwuro: Nonsense. You have been accused of telling lies, but instead of keeping quiet, you open your mouth to say something else.SaharaReporterss never told lies about Chime. Can you elucidate how they lied about him? Infact this outfit should be commended for their investigating journalism which other main stream media are afraid to indulge to. Secondly, PDP National Publicity Secretary was live on SaharaTV granting interview on Anambra Election. |
I rep my State no matter what. |
Well, Rivers State University of Science and Technology is the cheapest. With indigenes and non-indigenes paying 16k and 23k respectively as school fees |
In his cabinet, he has few seasoned politicians as commissioners presently, the ones that was supposed to doused the tension are now with NASS namely Abe, Dakuku, Adawari, Nwuke, Kpigi and even Kingsley who has joined Wike against him. Even, his utterances against the royal fathers though I fully support when he attacks them (that also is a factor against him now). His ally then, Yaradua is no more offcourse GEJ and Amaechi issues is beyound what we are seeing. Is an ethnic issue between Ikwerre and Ijaw (Land or no land, demolishing water fronts). My dear so many faults between them. No one is exonerated. They can never settle politically. That's all. |
I graduated from there too. The problem to me is not between them, but Amaechi against the god-fathers he sidelined in his reign. They want their places back. Look at them: Opara, Nwuche (although he is an ingrate), Glory Eme, Sekibo, Secondus, Lee Maeba and including those who were with him before now. I mean, some of his 1st tenure commissioners including Kingsley Chinda (NASS member now) who came to Church of God Mission, Woji to kneel down for us in 2011 that Amaechi is the best thing that has happened since the invention of slice bread. Wike off course, Boma Iyaye (former sports commsioner), former special duties commisoner and host of others who were with him have all joined all those they sidelined against Amaechi. Have we forgotten the First lady is an interesting party too. Have we forgotten she wants to control Rivers State as her predecessors did. |
Ogoni militant: I am from a minority tribe in Rivers state and am not worried about it. It does not make me claim Ijaw. But I know the Ikweres are Igbos but most of them claim not to be. I keep wondering most Igbo people of Rivers and Delta state are not proud to be called Igbo. With three Local Government and if you include Eleme making it four. How will you say, you are from the minority in Rivers State. Ken helped you guys to dominate the state. All you need now is togetherness to move forward. |
Nonybb: To hell with his(Amechi) Greek Gift. We will jail him for 30years for wasting river state resources in the tune of 2 trillion Naira for 8 good years. Just waiting for him to relinquish power and EFFC will begin work on his headGo jail Odili first, who is now an errand boy to Mr. President and Wike. And you may want to know, this is the 6th year of Amaechi not 8. Finally, he is better than any Governor you are have ever had in Rivers State and that's include Spiff who openly confessed it. EFCC should jail Sylvia too, let's see. I smh for you. |
To hell with him(Amaechi).
Time to go to bed. |
Good boy
|
This is getting interesting. In Rivers State for example. Opobians are the minority in that state. But, they seem to be relevant in the politics over there. Every administration that come on board, they tend to manoeuvre themselves into relevance. Even though they speak Igbo as an official language, they bear Ijaw names hence, they are classify as Ibanis, a sub-Ijaw ethnic group. |
In my own opinion they dig into the Government hideouts uncovering corrupt practices even our national dalies can't venture into. They were the ones who break into Oduah's story. The Ibori, Odilii-AIT connection, Odili- Rockson connection and severally investigating journalism they have done. So why the hate? |
Maybe I was too emotional on the poor student without looking into his atrocity. That said, I would like the NASS to review the criminal law. When will, stealing or looting of our public funds be punishable to death? |
babanne: Do you actually know what the law says as to the penalty of armed robbery?Sorry educate me on armed robbery laws. My concern is the double standard of these judges. |
Bigger thieves in our country been celebrated. Some even have sympathisers here. They steal big and go free while poor ones are sentence to death. |
Please this should be sent to FP to discuss exhaustively. That judge needs a brain surgery. |
AN Effurun high court, has sentenced a 24 year old secondary school student, Moses Akatugba, to death by hanging for robbing GSM handsets and recharge cards, just as a commercial motorcyclist, popularly called ‘okada’ rider was also jailed 15 years imprisonment for robbing a female passenger of her GSM handset.www.vanguardngr.com/2013/11/student-die-hanging-stealing-gsm-handsets-recharge-cards/ |
