It was Amechi who went to court to ask for elongatiom, then Omehia went to court and asked to be joined in the suit. So when Amechi saw that if he wins the case and get elongation, it will give his opponents time to prepare for him in the elections, he sort to withdrew the case. But Omehia who had already joined in the suit, refused and insisted that the case must go on.

At then, Omehia had even gone to APGA which have no strong footing in Rivers State.

The fact is that this case has nothing to do with the Presidency or with the PDP.

If the case goes against Amaechi, it will read that the INEC erred by conducting an election in Rivers while Amaechi's tenor had not ended.
Believe me, Amaechi would have been the one championing this case if he did not win in the second election.

Let us assume that another candidate won (just like the Anambra case you mentioned), Amaechi would be seaking of the election to be annulled since his tenure had not ended. But since he won, he wants the case to be thrown out but Omehia refused.

Now, if the Supreme court says , Yes, INEC erred by conducting the election, then the last election would be null and void.
Amachi cannot get the PDP party ticket, it will be pay back time!
