Idi Amin: Uniport na school?School of your President na u dey insult? |
Am not saying the news is genuine or new. But, Asari points has not been tackled right now. |
DerideGull: Current ASUU has produced the dumbest bunch of graduates in the history of Nigeria. Any money advanced to this useless bunch should be tied to its productivity. So you are applying Govt shouldn't provide funds because of your above reasons? |
Longeria: Where were you when Fashola sacked all Doctors in Lagos.Did he get away with it? |
Senate met today and decided to pull out of the strike. Details to come soon... Ok. All Unique students locate the nearest Airport or Bus Station. |
Kponkwem: This is now pure politics that will prelude the crisis of 2015. Schools in GEJ's stronghold complying with FG's directive while the other opposition ASUU members will be isolated and treated as subversive elements with full Federal intelligence and security apparati.ASUU are not politicians. Infact, University of Port Harcourt are yet to resume. Their ASUU executive are much committed to this strike more than any school. Maybe, you will say is sabotage from Amaechi. But, hold on. The state University didn't even go on strike. Separate politics from this strike. If FG are sincere, why not allow the AGF to sign. |
Demdem: But the fool sits through all GDI meetings.Apparently more interested in this:
|
bilms: PEOPLE HAVE THE RIGHT TO HAWK. For as long as govt can't provide means of livelihood to the people, they have the right to hawk anywhere including the govt house. What will they eat if they didn't hawk? Air? Or are we telling them to sit down idle in hunger? No. Not everyone can watch their kids cry of hunger without doing whatever it takes to feed them. If all the jobless youths are ready to hawk, i will personally lead them and take full responsibility for breaking the useless law that denied people means of survival.Spill it out! |
Now, that the NGF is polarised into faction. How do they harmonize against the FG on this suit. Your input please. |
The Supreme Court on Monday fixed March 24, 2014, for definite hearing in the suit filed by 36 state governors in the country against the Federal Government over the Excess Crude Account and the Sovereign Wealth Fund. A panel of justices of the apex court fixed the date after counsel in the matter regularised their processes. The development arose from the failure of the states and the Federal Government to reach an out-of-court settlement in the dispute, despite several opportunities given to them by the Supreme Court. The apex court had continuously adjourned the matter to enable the two parties reach an out-of- court settlement. The 36 states are challenging the legality of the Excess Crude Account and the decision of the Federal Government to transfer $1bn from the account to the SWF. The state governments had repeatedly expressed their readiness to have the Supreme Court determine the matter, blaming insincerity on the part of the Federal Government for the failure of the proposed out-of-court settlement. The Federal Government on the other hand had been unwilling to argue the matter in court. According to the terms of settlement proposed by the states, the Federal Government should, three months after the execution of the terms of settlement, cause an inventory of the assets of the National Integrated Power Project, as well as the Railway Modernisation Deductions, to be undertaken by a reputable Nigerian accounting firm. The states also asked the Federal Government to cause all sums standing to the credit of the ECA to be transferred to the Federation Account and distributed among the three tiers of government within 10 days from the execution of the terms of reference,. In the same vein, within 30 days of the execution of the terms of settlement, the states said the Federal Government would propose a legislation, and initiate a Bill to the National Assembly, that would ensure the payment of all revenue, which accrues from signature bonus, into the Federation Account for payment to the three tiers of government, in accordance with the provisions of Section 162 of the 1999 Constitution. Also, the states wanted the Federal Government to ascertain the exact amount standing to the credit of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund, as well as dividends derived from the NLNG Limited, and cause same to be paid into the Federation Account. They also proposed that the two parties would negotiate with a view to reaching agreement on the way to treat the proceeds of the sale of government properties, proceeds of the privatisation and commercialisation of government enterprises, as well as the education tax. However, in the event that no agreement was arrived at after six months, the states suggested that any of the parties can approach the Supreme Court for adjudication. Also, the states demanded that any funds appropriated to the Federal Inland Revenue Service and the Nigerian Customs Service, which remained unspent as at December 31 of any year shall be paid into the Federation Account at the end of every financial year. The states equally demanded that the Federal Government must prepare a Bill to regulate the grant of waivers and concessions to guide and streamline the exercise. In the same vein, revenue from dividends of shares and interests held by the Federal Government in any company from 2004 to 2007, amounting to N573bn, will be paid to the Federation Account and distributed among the tiers of government. The states also wanted the Federal Government to bear the cost of their legal fees in the suit. Source: Today's Punch. |
OP, Let's assume you are right. What exactly has changed since last year? To me, things are getting worse in Niger Delta bar the enrichment of some his loyalist. |
Alams stole more than that and is rubbing PGEJ belly at Aso Rock. I thought, my fellow Ijaw kinsmen said that, it is our Oyei money. So why the double standard on Sylvia. What of Alams, Alaibe and other rogues. Am amazed that my lecturer who taught me Theory of Structure in the dept of Civil Engineering, UNIPORT is among the APC members that defected from the NPDP. One time commissioner of water resources to Sylvia. Hope people realised, that politics is a game of interest, if Oduah can be safe and his brother Sylvia will be arraign for opposing him. It goes to show you that we don't know were this country is heading to. |
Digitron: I know that it will be chemistry department, that department is the most organised dept. In UNN.Same in UNIPORT. Ofouka, that old spinster was that her name again erm.. CHM260 woman (UP help me out). The fear of Chemistry in UP is the beginning of Medical student success. |
atlwireles: You were just too easy to expose. I will never understand the mindset of a man, coming to a public forum just to mislead people. When the simple truth will cost you nothing.Spill it out! |
atlwireles: I bet you see them daily from your mud hut in Osun.I laugh in Ibani language. Mud in Osun? You mean, you are not away that IYC is a council for thugs? What impacts has that association done for common Ijaws. If not to lobby govt for favours. Infact, show me any Ijaw man bar the academician that you can look up to. Go jump inside Brass water if you no like truth |
So from that journal, it says that state that enjoys 13% oil derivation tends to have low IGR apart from Rivers and Edo. This two always against their brothers. |
Almost all Rivers/Bayelsians politicians are corrupts. I know them very well. To them, politics is like a full time career. Unlike other zones you may have private and business men. An average person from this two states venturing into politics only thinks of what to loot. That's why you heared things like 'o boy, oga no wan empower us' 'o boy that guy too stingy' o boy, no b road we go chop, make en empower us'. I think Lamido is spot on, on there. But insulting the President? He has gone too far even as a serious GEJ critic even Lai Mohamed won't go this far. |
desgiezd: I bet you wouldn't mind if the curse will land this sum in your bank account. That is what is trending now. |
Abeg ohhhhh |
barcanista: I have to agree with you that Gov Amaechi has outperformed every past governor of Rivers State-dead and alive. In fact he performed more in Okrika than any other areas. We Okrikans love him and consider him as one of us much more than Rufus Ada George and Abiye Sekibo-who are supposed to be Okrikans. My fellow Izon, for one day I don't like this quarrel between our brothers. But, we have to look at the genesis of the problem critically,. Our Governor had no intention of leaving PDP, he was pushed out by the Presidency not Wike. Akpabio was the bigger problem that planted this seed of discord between them. You know those two guys were never in good terms apparently because of those oil wells Rivers collected from them. Even though they only gave the dried well. Instead of our brothers to settle a very small matter, it was blown out of proportion which had spread to other states. How do Amaechi seek reconciliation when forces have vowed he will never get closed to the President. How do you explain in the process of reconciliation. PDP counsel at the supremme court on 11/Nov withdrew his support for Amaechi and ask the court to strike out Amaechi's suit against Omehia? If the status quo of peace were maintained by the Presidency to stop fanning political war. Maybe, things would have been different. That young man had no party to rest. |
ChuckBoi93: @ OP,Grammar police. No am not a graduate. Please I would like you to highlight them for me (errors you presumed you find). I am preparing for my common entrance you slowpoke! |
This thread should be thrown into the pit. Please moderators, do your job. Firstly, the rally was not held in Port Harcourt, but at Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, the self acclaim speaker Bipi LGA and is the same Local Govt that Sen. George Sekibo hails from. Secondly, all the information written here about 20 House of Assembly members attending are all false. Only 5 members attended. Last month, PDP chairman in Rivers State claimed that 6 commissioners from Amaechi's cabinet have indicated interest to join their fold that they will be unveil in today's rally. Good people of Nairaland, you can't even find one. This goes to show how desperate Wike and his group are. Even the Local Government chairman of were this rally was held is a 'die hard' Amaechi. That was why you saw the low turn-out. Why, am disappointed with these set of people, they have no manifesto rather than abusing Amaechi and exalting the President without pointing out what FG impact they have felt. Off course, they can't criticize Amaechi perfomance at Ogu/Bolo because, since the history of Bolo, they have been travelling by water until Amaechi just completed 2 bridges that connects from Ogu to Bolo including Health centres and model schools for them. Not far from Ogu/Bolo is Okrika were he constructed their ring road all these with bridges, what of Ogoni, Andoni and Opobo unity road which has 13 bridges and 10 completed. This is why we can't abandon him for people that can't show what they have done when they were in power bar enriching themselves. So, MOD, this thread is frivolous and full of deceit. It should be removed. Thanks. |

They still use canopy at that so called remodelling. In between, they are yet to open it. I hope they do soon. |
atlwireles: Open your eyes and count again. By the way, why are you not worried about your Osun/Ekiti states politics?? Stop sticking your nose in other people's business.Hey, am from Rivers. I live here in Woji. Full blown Opobo man |
Disregard this thread. Only 5 House Assembly members were there. The self acclaim speaker not Otelema, the real speaker was there. Out of three senators in Rivers only one attended. Out of 13 House of Reps members only 3 attended. Out of 23LGAs only 1 attended. Out of 32 house of assembly members on 5 attended. OP, stop spreading lies. Amaechi is still in charge. Beside, all the elected politicians that attended have all been with Wike since the crisis started. None of Amaechi supporters, I mean none has left him. |
20pounds: Point of incorrect !If Amaechi is in jail for looting Rivers State. Fine. but for not supporting GEJ? Hell No! If that happens, we are all in trouble. |
TribalEAST: Dont worry, she'll meet her waterloo.Seems she's just interested to destroy my happiness. These are the type of girls that... |
I decided to dish my then gf because I found out that she wasn't grateful but always demanding and she doesn't give me respect I deserve. When I called off the relationship she was happy from her altitude. Two weeks later, I met another girl, she was on her housemanship at UPTH. We fell in love. Then, one fateful day, I ran into my ex-gf, she apologised for her past behaviours and stuffs like that. She pleaded she wants back... etc. But, I told her I had moved on and am with someone else. I don't know exactly how she did it. But, she convinced me I should dump that young Doctor for her, citing reasons like our past escapade and so on. I called my Doc gf that am breaking up with her, that I will be going back to my ex, because I still love her, She just ask me, if that is what I truly wanted? After going back to my ex, I noticed, the chemistry wasn't there like before. We always quarrel, infact, she doubled her pride towards me. She even told me to Bleep off if I don't wanna stay in the if am not comfortable with her. Once, I had these family challenges she didn't even bother to know how I have been handling them. She only cares about herself. If I don't give her what she wants, I definitely be in trouble. Finally, I realised I made a huge mistake in going back to her. I asked her if she would like to continue or still interested in our relationship. She told me to do whatever I want. It was now dawned on me I had messed up big time. After taken stock of my relationship with her. I decided it was better I move on which I had done. The worst part of this whole story is that, my young Doctor entered another relationship two days before I went to seek for her forgiveness. She told me, she had waited for months for me to come back. But, she has moved on and I should forget it. I didn't really feel bad emotional because it was all my fault. I am presently single and I don't intend entering another relationship for now until am ready to say 'I do'. Lessons I have learned Don't ever let any girl control your emotion. Our generation of girls are more interested in what they can get from their men not the other way round on balancing the tide in their relationship. |
explorer001: First, I want to ask everyone here…have you ever been in a situation where you have to pick in between two impossible choices? Follow your heart you’ll all say right?....LOLI had the same experience Bro. She was always demanding. We broke up, make up, broke up, make up ... The most painful part, I always go for make up. I thought I can't do without her. Until, am finally free. |
