Exactly, i have to be sure about that. I have already arrange a meeting with her for the last time. I am not rushing into a new relationship for now. I spoke with one of her friends and she was also shocked to hear that. Believe you me, am not just whinning to get NL empathies. Is just that, i want to let out every pain am feeling to ease myself a little. To be honest, if i show another woman 1/4 of the love i gave to her. She will be licking my ass forever.

okidnoble135: OP, the above is where the problem is. Some people here are telling you to forget her. But seems they have forgotten that after break up, one needs time to heal. One needs time to get himself together. Especially the fact that she was your first and you did your best for her only to get this in return.... I think i get your point. My advise is, dont try to rush into another relationship. Take your time to get into one.
And for the lady?.... I long learnt that, "some people quit their place in our lives(break up with us) simply because there is a reason why they do not have in our future". If she quit with you, there is a reason she is not making it to your future. Learn all the lessons(if there are any).

Serious, i was this kind of dude that is always lively and happy. When the going was good. each time i remember her, i just got this sense of completeness in me and it has helped me to concentrate both in my academics and my present job. I asked myself last night if i got it wrong in sticking to one partner while in school. Some of my male friends actually warned me the consequences, but i just believe i dont need a backup as they call it.
Anyway, thank you all for all your inputs during this difficult period of my life.
I will talk to my mum and elder sis, before taking a final decision. I just hope to get this done, so i can move on with my soul.

She joined me on campus and i made sure she lacked nothing cos as God will have it, the money my parents gives me, i economise for both of us. We celebrate both birthdays in a lovely and modest way. I enjoined my relationship with even friends wanted to know i can stay so long with her without getting bored. We smoke garri together when we dont have food, we even visit pay visits to our family houses during holidays. I had promised to officially engaged her this december after her final year exams.

Let me introduced myself. I am in my late twenties, graduated from the University of Port Harcourt last december. Currently working in a construction in Port Harcourt. My story goes this way, my GF and I were childhood friends, we kept in contact till our teenage ages. We started feeling something for each other. In my 21st birthday, we started dating officially. Then, we were all seeking admission into the university. I got admission before her, in fact to cut the long story short. I helped her in gaining admission when i was in my 3rd year (Civil Engr).

Symphony007: sadly in the face of a broken nation with no clear part forward, citizens of that nation still play partisan politics with their future and that of their children.

I am not partisan and will never play politics in a sinking nation. A monorail is not what rivers state needs to grow or help it's masses anf ameachi was silly on embake on it. By the times he leaves office, i hope he is probed if money was well spent.

Funny enough, mr excel has'nt responded to my post but all you political tugs who want a broken political nation to be the legacy to your kids and grandkids have turned it to your rally cry.

As a Rivers man, am not against the monorail project. My younger brother who studied in China told me the Chinese govt took years to complete theirs. I am not against investigating the cost of the monorail at all, but when it looks like political witch hunting then, there is were i get worried. IMO, that project should be a continous process, infact that is one project i had wish private partners can tap in to reduce the ever busy Aba road. If you people live in Port Harcourt, you cannot argue a functional monorail that can move upto hundreds of people from Station bustop to Oyigbo and back to station bustop in less than 10mins is not worth investing on? Since, he can't build to that distance, i don't see anything wrong in starting an ambitious project. I believe wherever, he stops the next govt can continue until we get to our destination. It is better we get a continous project (transportation) like that in my state than refurbishing a locomotive rail line every new govt dispensation

When Odili was the Governor of Rivers State, he tried revitalizing the rail way section of Port Harcourt. From Station bustop - Oyigbo terminal. Trains were refurbished for free transportation of students and haulage of goods within the City. To be honest, i did enjoy a ride on that train as a student then. I believe, due to his relationship with the then President (OBJ), he got concessioned to rehabilate that Port Harcourt section. After spending billions of naira. That feat could only last for 13months i.e 2003-2004, i think so. Those so called trains didn't last uptill 8months of their commission. The rail tracks got bad almost immediately. Now, think if he had put those billions on the present Monorail the state govt are embarking, we could have reached an appreaciable distance. Amaechi says he has spend N16bn so far to cover from Station bustop to UTC (A distance between 3-4km) including the buying of rail components and trains that will be on the monorail. If Odili has started that monorail in his 8years in office, we could be thinking of covering close to Rumuola or artilery. Having said these, i don't see anything wrong in going for the best when we have the resources. After all Fashola did not limit Lagos when he started and completed the first suspended bridge (though with the colaboration of Yaradua)

Yesterday night, i watched a documentary on MTV Base (South Africa) on a street party. I noticed the beauty and serenity of their streets. Symphony007: the federal republic of nigeria should be able to review the capabilities of any partner they want to do buisness with. If they cannot find any suitable partner, the federal republic of nigeria that pays it's legislators over 30 million, where a minister spends 2 billion on travels, where a president spends 1 billion on food, can single handedly complete that kind of rail from port harcourt to lagos and then use the overwheaming revenue gotten from it to construct the lagos-kano phase.

Building modern railway is very expensive that needs large junk of money. I mean money.

In Port Harcourt, Amaechi is building a monorail that will start from Station bustop to terminate at Eleme junction. It was supposed to be in Partnership with a Chinese firm. The govt was to bring 30% and the chinese firm with the remaining 70%. Do you know, this Chinese firm pulled out citing financial breakdown, after the state govt has already fufill 10% of is it's bargain. The 40km rail project now became a sham to Rivers State people. Monorail is a very expensive project which requires funds from partners. The dilenma now, should the state govt withdraw or continue. If they does the former, all hell will let lose by the opposition since he was warn not to venture into the project from onset. And if he does the latter, it requires enough finance cos 1 column is equal to N800m. Amaechi been a stubborn man refused to back down. Instead he concluded he will terminate the project at waterlines. But, can he pick the project from UTC bustop to Waterlines? That is another question that need answers. So far out of the 39km initial plan, he has decided to complete 10km before leaves office single handedly since the Chinese firm pulled out. So far, he has been able to cover 4.5km. Can he achieved the remaining 5.5km in 2years? Is that what Jonathan should do?

Well, as a new graduate engineer, am ready for march next year cos my state government won the Afam power plants station bid. Together with the Gas turbine at Trans-Amadi and Omoku, we can now now generate and distribute electricity. So, Rivers State govt will be recruiting 3000 engineers to be trained after employment aside the shores of the country. The quota are 2500 for indigenes and 500 for non-indigenes just like the teachers recruitment of 11000 for indigenes and 2000 for non-indigenes. I am looking forward to this once in a lifetime employment in that sector. With this information i just shared i think, i have contributed in spreading a juicy job vacancy. Trust me, Rivers State recruitment is one of the most transparent excercise you can ever go for. Asked the newly recruited teachers. Couldn't apply for the latter cos i wasn't through with service then. Just dust your CV, if you are from Rivers State or reside in the state.

Abagworo: The 1st reason I disliked Ohakim and Orji was their so-called dualization. They just divided existing roads without expansion just to lay claim to dualizing the said roads. The most narrow dualized Road I've seen in my life is Library Avenue in Umuahia while Orlu Road in Owerri and Okporo road in Port-Harcourt come slightly behind.

I don't know exactly what Amaechi was smoking when he awarded that project (Okporo road). I think that is the worst dualised road in PH even though it has underground drain. When i noticed few metres marked for demolition on that road, i just know that road won't be wide.

Abagworo: Umuahia looks cool because it has not experienced population explosion. I however believe you did not go round the town at least going by your claims of only 3 dualized roads. I went to Umuahia last in 2009 and then there were at least 5 dualized roads - Aba road, Umuwaya road, Mission hill, Library avenue and BCA. As at today I believe Bende road should be a dualized road as well.

My dear, i did as i could maybe you are right. Even the dualised roads are just 4 lanes. That said, i noticed they love kolanuts.

I am just leaving Abia State capital as am writing this piece. The city is kind of modest with good network of roads. My observation are as follows:
1. Their roads are narrow and can't handle PH, Lagos or Kano population.
2. Lowly populated.
3. Most of their roads where constructed by Zerock Construction Coy. This means Orji Uzor Kalu administration witnessed massive road construction.
4. They have beautiful girls
5. Just 3 dualised roads in the entire capital.
6. Their public primary schools are dissappointing.
7. Good Federal Hospital.
8. Seen handful of cars donated as a means of empowering their youths with Ochendu boldly written on them.
9. Saw two towers.
10. Poor internet access especially 3G network Keeps flutuating (MTN & GLO).
11. Is a small place not fit to be call a city
12. Their Government house looks awful especially the entrance to the office of the SSG.
13. Bar the bad roads at Aba, they look more like a city to Umuahia
14. Their Governor pictures seems to flaunt every of their junctions.
15. Narrow or no drainages in their capital.
