PoliticsUN Steps Into Southern Kaduna Killings by Kemperor(op): 9:26am On Jan 12, 2017
- The United Nations has begun investigation of the attacks and killings in Southern Kaduna

- UN took the step after it received a December 30, 2016, petition SERAP sent to Dr. Callamard

With continued killings in Southern part of Kaduna by Fulani herdsmen, the United Nations has begun investigation of the attacks and killings.

UN Special Rapporteur on Extrajudicial, Summary or Arbitrary Executions, Dr. Agnes Callamard took the step after it received a December 30, 2016, petition SERAP sent to Dr. Callamard.

“Dr. Callamard has confirmed she is probing recent allegations of killings of over 800 citizens, mostly women, children and the elderly, in Southern Kaduna, by suspected herdsmen, and to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice, and to provide reparations to victims,” according to a statement by SERAP executive director, Adetokunbo Mumuni, yesterday.

This followed a December 30, 2016, petition SERAP sent to Dr. Callamard.

SERAP urged Callamard to prevail on the federal government authorities to: take measures to urgently secure the right to life, right to security and dignity of the human person and right to property of citizens in Southern Kaduna, and to prevent further attacks and killings by herdsmen and other unknown perpetrators.

PoliticsPhotos: EFCC Uncovers Secret Multi-billion Estate That Belongs To Diezani by Kemperor(op):
Photos have emerged of a multi-billion estate which the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) suspects that it belongs to former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke.

It was discovered by operatives of the anti-graft agency in the course of their investigation of public funds allegedly stolen by the former minister.

The investigators conducted a search on some of the houses on the estate.

Acting Chairman of the EFCC, Mr Ibrahim Magu has already left Nigeria for London in connection with the investigation of the ex-minister and some upscale properties traced to her at home and abroad.

About five bank chiefs are likely to face trial over the $153million allegedly withdrawn by the ex-minister from the accounts of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation( NNPC) in December 2014.

The Nation gathered that the EFCC team, acting on intelligence, uncovered the sprawling estate which is coded as BGIS/OK/02/16/310.

It is located on Diepreye Alamieyeseigha Street, off Goodluck Jonathan Road in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

A source familiar with the investigation said: “Following our obtaining a court order to recover some assets belonging to Diezani, we were able to gather intelligence which led to the location of the hidden estate in question in Bayelsa State.

“Our operatives also conducted searches in some houses on the estate based on tip off on the ex-minister.

“We will follow due process in invoking the relevant laws on asset forfeiture on all the mansions in the estate.”

Section 7 of the EFCC Act says: “The commission has the power to (a) cause any investigations to be conducted as to whether any person, corporate body or organization has committed any offence under this Act or other law relating to economic and financial crimes.

“(b) Cause investigations to be conducted into the properties of any person if it appears to the commission that the person’s lifestyle and extent of the properties are not justified by his source of income.”

Sections 26 and 29 of the EFCC Act read in part: “Any property subject to forfeiture under this Act may be seized by the commission in the following circumstances- (a) the seizure is incidental to an arrest or search; or (b) in the case of property liable to forfeiture upon process issued by the Court following an application made by the Commission in accordance with the prescribed rules

“Whenever property is seized under any of the provisions of this Act, the Commission may-(a) place the property under seal; or (b) remove the property to a place designated by the Commission.

“Properties taken or detained under this section shall be deemed to be in custody of the Commission, subject only to an order of a Court.”

Sections 28 and 34 of the EFCC (Establishment Act) 2004 and Section 13(1) of the Federal High Court Act, 2004 empower the anti-graft agency to invoke Interim Assets Forfeiture Clause.

“Section 28 of the EFCC Act reads: ‘Where a person is arrested for an offence under this Act, the Commission shall immediately trace and attach all the assets and properties of the person acquired as a result of such economic or financial crime and shall thereafter cause to be obtained an interim attachment order from the Court.’

Section 13 of the Federal High Court Act reads in part: “The Court may grant an injunction or appoint a receiver by an interlocutory order in all cases in which it appears to the Court to be just or convenient so to do.

(2) “Any such order may be made either unconditionally or on such terms and conditions as the Court thinks just.”

On the EFCC boss, Magu’s trip to London, Bank, a second source said: “We are getting closer to the biggest fraud trial in the UK. The Acting EFCC chairman has left Abuja for London to compare notes with his colleagues.

“The EFCC is collaborating with prosecutors in the United Kingdom by providing incontrovertible evidence against the ex-minister.

“Some of the UK investigators visited Nigeria in 2016. A few of our crack detectives have been in and out of the UK too.

“Magu’s trip is part of the crystallization and consolidation of evidence against Diezani.”

It was gathered on Saturday, January 7, that about five bank chiefs might face trial in connection with looted funds traced to ex-Minister Diezani.

“Although we are presently preoccupied with the recovery of looted public funds by the ex-minister, we cannot rule out the prosecution of some people at the end of the day,” a source told The Nation yesterday.

“Some bank chiefs, maybe about five, may face trial but we are not making this a priority now. We want to retrieve every dollar stolen from NNPC accounts.

“Some of these bank chiefs are pleading that we should allow them to refund the funds credited to them without prosecution. But the weight of evidence will determine our position at the end of the day.

“The truth is that many bank chiefs were engaged by the ex-minister to perpetrate fraud.

“So far, all the banks implicated are cooperating with the EFCC. We hope that in two weeks’ time, the $153million would have been forfeited to the Federal Government.

Four banks have been fingered in how Diezani laundered $153,310,000.

The EFCC told a Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday that the huge cash was wired from NNPC accounts to the 4 new generation banks for safe keeping."

PoliticsNigeria To Join Aircraft Producing Nations: Minister Of Aviation by Kemperor(op): 2:35pm On Jan 08, 2017
- Nigeria is set to establish an Aviation University to focus on research

- The minister of aviation said the country will join countries producing aircraft

Nigeria is targeting the opportunity to join the list of countries producing air crafts as the President Muhammadu Buhari administration is set to establish an Aviation University.

The Nation reports that Hadi Sirika who is the minister of aviation confirmed this plan when he toured the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) in Zaria, Kaduna State on Saturday, January 7th.

He said: “The aviation university will be different from NCAT; the university will be fully into research and development and production of higher level management manpower need of the industry.

“The university will go into deep research, with the hope that in the near future, we will be able to manufacture aircraft components, until when we are able to produce the aircraft itself.

“Since the technology is available around the world, is no longer a hindrance, it is our own ability and capability to pursue it.”

The minister of aviation noted that Brazil and India have joined aircraft producing countries and that Nigeria can do same too.

He said: “If such countries could do it, why not Nigeria’’.

“The technology is known, we are not reinventing it; we just put our act together in doing it. So, the university will cater for that, while NCAT will continue to provide the services in the institute.”

Sirika said the decentralisation of NCAT by the previous administration would make it difficult for the college to do what it was established to do.

He said: “Remember, it was the UNDP that partnered with International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and Nigerian government to produce this institution.

“And it is one of its kind, so why are going to reduce its capacity and capability?. Our own task is to improve, enhance and upgrade the capacity and ability of the college to do more.

“But if somebody feels that he has funds to go and establish a facility somewhere to do some kind of training, of course, we will support him.”

Capt. Samuel Caulcrick who is the rector of the college identified funding and obsolete facilities as some of the bane to the development of the institution.

PoliticsFayose Says “police Have Merged With APC” by Kemperor(op): 2:20pm On Jan 08, 2017
Ekiti State Governor, has described the sack of six police officerattached to the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike as “the height of political victimisation by the All Progressives Congress (APC) led federal government just because the policemen were among the patriotic Nigerians who foiled the attempt by the party to rig the Rivers State rerun elections.”

Governor Fayose, who described the six police officers as heroes of democracy, said “their names will be written in gold in the comity of defenders of the people of Rivers State and whenever normalcy returns to our body polity, they will surely regain their job.”

Speaking through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose questioned the police authority on what it has done in respect of the Police officers that Nigerians have seen on videos, hijacking ballot boxes.

“Funny, they claimed that the six police officers, while in the convoy of Governor Wike misused the firearms in their possession and I have asked myself, who did they shoot with the firearms said to have been misused?

“The policemen simply did their job by protecting their principal and punishing them for performing their duties can only be meant to discourage policemen from protecting Governor Wike and other opposition Governors.”

The governor also challenge the police to tell Nigerians the report of its investigations on the murder of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mohammed Alkali, and his driver during the Rivers State rerun elections.

He said; “Since Christian Chukwuemela Ekikeme, a member of the gang that killed DSP Alkali, and his driver reportedly linked a certain Mr Kachi Nwokocha, who is a top member of the APC and an aide of the Minister of Transportation and immediate past governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi as sponsor of the gang, the police has been silent on the murder.

“Up till today, the man mentioned as the sponsor of the gang that allegedly killed the DSP has not been questioned by the police.

“Why didn’t the police handle the murder of DSP Alkali and his driver with the speed of lighting that it handled the dismissal of the six police officers?

“Why are Nigerians not being told anything about the murder and the involvement of an APC chieftain just the way the police paraded the six police officers?”

He said “it is sad that instead of focusing on those who killed its men, the police is now acting as an arm of the APC by punishing whoever acted against the wish of the vindictive leaders of the party.”

Christianity EtcWill RCCG Ever Remain The Same? Pastor Adeboye Appoints National Overseer by Kemperor(op): 6:03pm On Jan 07, 2017
Nigerians have reacted to reports that the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has retired from his post as the administrative head of the church in Nigeria.

The former lecturer had reportedly stepped down from his role as the ministry's overseer in Nigeria but remains as the worldwide head with another senior pastor, J O Obayemi succeeding him with immediate effect.

He was said to have made this announcement on Saturday, December 7, having led the church since 1991.

While the news of his retirement still looked unbelievable to some Nigerians, others believe the man of God has actually paid his due and has earned the accolades that he has gotten over the years.

Several others expressed optimism in seeing the RCCG maintaining its standard which Pastor Adeboye has reportedly kept religiously for more than two decades.

A few Nigerians preferred to drop their comments on Facebook as they also expressed their disbelief with the report, but those who believed, heaped encomium on the man of God.

Owerri-based Samson Anyanwu, believes the outgoing RCCG GO is an epitome of humility as he wrote: "What an epitome of humility and godliness.. He's just proved to the world that God is the real owner of the church and not Man.. I'm not an RCCG Member but I'm really touched by this.. Sir Adeboye is indeed a real Man of God... May God continue to bless him and his family!!!!!"

Finance expert, Ekuma Anthony Ifebuche noted that the retirement is something that Pastor Adeboye has worked really hard to earn and that he needs the rest he has decided to take by stepping down.

"God bless the kingdom General. U really need some rest. That how it supposed to be. Wish our politicians will emulate you," he wrote on Facebook.

PoliticsGoodluck Jonathan And Others Allegedly Pocketed $1.3 Billion Oil Money by Kemperor(op): 6:38pm On Jan 06, 2017
cool- An indictment released by Italian prosecutors has linked former President Goodluck Jonathan to the Malabu oil scam

- Others named in the reports include Diezani Alison Madueke, Mohammed Adoke, Aliyu Gusau and Bayo Ojo

- The report alleged that Goodluck Jonathan and others mentioned shared in the $1.3b fraudulent oil deal

An investigative report by Italian prosecutors has alleged that ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, former minister of petroleum Diezani Alison-Madueke, former Attorney Generals Mohammed Adoke and Bayo Ojo, former Minister of Defense and ex-National Security Adviser, Aliyu Gusau as well as numerous other senior government officials shared hundreds of millions of dollars.

According to an indictment obtained by Sahara Reporters, the Italian prosecutors alleged that Goodluck Jonathan and several officials of his government as well as top corporate officials of international oil firms, Eni and Shell, met several times between 2010 and 2011 to seal the fraudulent Malabu deal and split a massive loot running into hundreds of millions between Nigerian government and public interests as well as corporate officials.

Former President Jonathan is involved $1.3 billion oil fraud

The indictment shows that former Abacha-era Minister, Dauzia Loya Etete, better known as "Dan Etete" and his Malabu company were at the center of the scam that involved the sale of an oil bloc named OPL 245 he illicitly acquired in 1998.

Italian oil giant, Eni, the owner of the Nigerian Agip Oil Company Ltd (NAOC) and Royal Dutch Shell, contracted to acquire 100 percent of the 245 oil blocks for a deal that totaled $1.3 billion.

However, Italian prosecutors are alleging that much of the funds was set aside for fraudulent payments to Mr Jonathan and other government officials as well as corporate executives working for Eni and Shell.

Apart from naming numerous officials of Eni and Shell, the indictment also fingered Mr Jonathan, Mr Etete, Mrs Alison-Madueke, Mr Adoke, former NSA Gusau, Mr Obi, Mr Ojo, and Alhaji Abubakar as beneficiaries from the Malabu fraud.

Among the corporate players named in the Malabu deal are Paolo Scaroni, Eni’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, and Claudio Descalzi, the Managing Director of Eni’s Exploration and Production Division since July 2008.

The indictment states that Mr Scaroni “agreed to intermediation by Obi,” and was constantly informed by Mr Descalzi of the progress of developments in the deal.

Mr. Descalzi met then President Jonathan in person in 2010 and again in 2011.

According to the indictment, Mr Descalzi maintained steady contact with Mr. Obi and two key Eni employees in Nigeria, Roberto Casula and Vincenzo Armanna, who helped coordinate a deal in which Mr Jonathan and other senior officials of his government would receive illegal commissions in exchange for approving the Malabu oil deal.

Mr Descalzi also coordinated with his Shell counterpart, Malcolm Brinded, on the $1.3 billion price tag for the oil block.

Other Eni and Shell officials also attended meetings with the then president, Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja on August 13, 2010 regarding the OPL245 deal and, again, on February 22, 2011. In addition, the indictment states that the two oil companies’ executives attended meetings from November 18 to 25, 2010, at Mr Adoke’s offices in Abuja.

Apart from Mr Adoke, Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar also known as ‘AAA Oil’ was also present at the meetings during which, according to Italian prosecutors: “The financial conditions of the deal ($1.3 billion) were agreed.”

Mr Armanna, the Senior Advisor of Nigerian Agip Oil Company Ltd and as Eni Vice President for upstream sub-Saharan activities, reportedly played a major role in the scam.

Italian prosecutors accuse Mr Armanna of facilitating the Nigerian government’s active role in the Malabu deal, including the payment “of €1,092,040,000 intended for Etete, in addition to the ‘signature bonus’ of $207,960,000.”

The indictment also states that on October 30, 2010, Ciro Antonio Pagano of Eni, signed his firm’s offer to Raffeisen Bank, Obi's advisor, for the company’s 100% acquisition of Malabu’s participating interest in OPL 245.

The payments comprised $207,960,000 to the Nigerian government as the signature bonus and $1,053,000,000 directly to Malabu.

According to the indictment, Etete is also being accused of “having received authorization from Minister of Petroleum Alison-Madueke to dispose of 100% of OPL245, following the decision of President Jonathan.

In addition, Etete was said to have: “Conducted confidential negotiations with Aliyu Abubakar, who acted as an agent of Goodluck Jonathan and accepted, under government pressure, the total sum of $1.3 billion, established by Eni and Shell.”

Italian prosecutors also reported that: “Mr Etete received $801.5 million from the Nigerian government under the FGN Resolution Agreement, and having transferred to Abubakar Aliyu, directly or through companies attributable to him, funds of approximately $520 million, intended to be paid to President Jonathan, members of the government and other Nigerian government officials.”

The indictment also states that the Malabu deal involved an agreement that Dan Etete would use much of the funds from the sale of the oil bloc.

The indictment added that: “President Goodluck Jonathan and other members of the Nigerian government in office at the time, including Mrs Alison-Madueke, Attorney General Muhammed Bello Adoke, National Security Advisor Aliyu Gusau, a member of the House of Representatives, Umar Bature, former Senator Ikechukwu Obiorah received huge payoffs from the Malabu deal.”

Meanwhile, Mr Mohammed Adoke has revealed in an interview that he was following directives from former president Goodluck Jonathan in the Malabu oil deal and denied any allegation of corruption.

PoliticsJubilation In Igboland As Work Begins On 2nd Niger Bridge;job Seekers Flood Area by Kemperor(op): 6:15pm On Jan 06, 2017
- The construction of the second Niger Bridge to connect the south south and south east has started

- Job seekers have also trooped to the area in search of work

There is excitement in the south east region following the start of work on the second Niger Bridge which is meant to link the south south and south east geopolitical zone.

The construction of the bridge has been an issue since the administration of former president, Goodluck Jonathan who performed the ground-breaking ceremony.

Vanguard reports that there were serious sign that work will begin in earnest while job seekers were seen in the area looking for opportunities to join the work force.

Senator Chris Ngige who is the minister of labour said on Saturday, January 31 that the federal executive council had approved N14 billion to enable Julius Berger to commence work,

He also said another N16 billion was accommodated in the 2017 budget for additional payment for the construction of the bridge.

Ngige said the bridge has been redesigned and would have a railway line that would connect Asaba in Delta State with Onitsha in Anambra State.

This is expected to ease the pressure of heavy duty vehicles using the bridge to transport goods.

He called on Nigerians not to stand in the way of success by making unnecessary demand.

“This is a project that previous administrations played politics with and the present administration under President Muhammadu Buhari has decided to ensure its realization. Our people should not allow the issue of compensation to hinder the construction work because of its enormous benefits to the people,”

Foreign AffairsAmerica’s Military Most Powerful On Earth – Obama by Kemperor(op): 12:33pm On Jan 05, 2017
New York – Outgoing U.S. President Barack Obama has declared that America’s military is the most powerful on the face of the earth.

Obama, who delivered emotional remarks at the Armed Forces Full Honour Review Farewell Ceremony, noted the negative effects of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq on the military but said that had not diminished their capability.

“But make no mistake, even with the challenges of recent years – and there have been challenges -, our allies and adversaries alike understand America’s military remains, by far, the most capable fighting force on the face of the Earth.

“Our Army, tested by years of combat, is the best-trained and best-equipped land force on the planet. Our Navy is the largest and most lethal in the world — on track to surpass 300 ships.

“Our Air Force, with its precision and reach, is unmatched. Our Marine Corps is the world’s only truly expeditionary force. Our Coast Guard is the finest in the world.

“And we’re also the best because this military has come to welcome the talents of more of our fellow Americans,” he said.

The outgoing president also noted the impressive bravery and professional performance of the women combatants.

“Service members can now serve the country they love without hiding who they are or who they love. All combat positions in our military are now open to women.

“And Joe Biden and I know that women are at least as strong as men. We’re stronger for it. It’s one of the reasons that our military stands apart as the most respected institution in our nation by a mile.”

He recalled his moments with the servicemen during his eight-year presidency, having to face many challenges together.

” I’m very grateful for that. Because you remind us that we are united as one team. At times of division, you’ve shown what it means to pull together.

“As my days as your Commander-in-Chief are coming to an end, and as I reflect on the challenges we have faced together and on those to come, I believe that one of the greatest task before our Armed Forces is to retain the high confidence that the American people rightly place in you.

“This is a responsibility not simply for those of you in uniform, but for those who lead you. It’s the responsibility of our entire nation,” he said.

Obama also threw a challenge to the American military and political leaders in taking military actions.

The outgoing commander-in-chief said while the event was meant to appreciate and praise him, he was rather turning it on them.

“And so, although I recognise that the formalities require me listening to praise directed in large part to me, I want to turn the tables – I am still Commander-in-Chief, so I get to do what I want to do – and I want to thank you.

“Of all the privileges of this office – and there are many – I will miss Air Force One, I will miss Marine One but I can stand before you today and say that there has been no greater privilege, and no greater honour, than serving as the Commander-in-Chief of the greatest military in the history of the world.”

The outgoing commander-in-chief, who said he would be eternally grateful to the servicemen, expressed the confidence that America would continue to maintain its leadership role across the globe.

“So we can’t say it enough and we can’t show it enough. Thank you for your patriotism. Thank you for your professionalism. Thank you for your character in representing the very best of the American spirit. Our nation endures — we live free under the red, white and blue – because of patriots like you.

“It has been a privilege of a lifetime to serve with you. I have learned much from you. I’m a better man having worked with you. I’m confident that the United States and our Armed Forces will remain the greatest force for freedom and security that the world has ever known.

“God bless you and your families. And God bless the United States of America,” the outgoing president concluded.

PoliticsUnder Buhari, 2,000 Igbo Youths Have Been Killed By Nigerian Army - NGO by Kemperor(op): 12:14pm On Jan 05, 2017
- An NGO has claimed that about 2,000 igbo youths have been killed by the Nigerian army

- The group claimed the killings were done under the guise of rule-of-engagement

A non-governmental organization, Campaign for Democracy (CD), has claimed that no fewer than 2,000 Igbo youths had b[/center]een killed by the Nigerian army under the guise of rule-of-engagement.

The group, therefore, called on the United Nations (UN), International Criminal Court (ICC), the United States, other world bodies and their leaders to take note of such ‘man’s inhumanity to man’ being meted to defenseless Nigerians, especially the Pro-Biafrans

In a statement issued Wednesday, January 4, in Onitsha, Anambra state, by CD’s national publicity secretary, Dede Uzor, he noted that the massacre of over 800 Christians in Southern Kaduna required a thorough investigation to unmask the brain behind such cruel act.

Uzor called on the national assembly to include members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and Igbo youths as members of the panel that would probe the recent killings in Southern Kaduna.

The NGO group opined that if the national assembly resumed from both the Christmas and New Year break, it would be ideal to include all pro-Biafra groups and Igbo youths in the panel, to avoid being lopsided.

Uzor added that the vow by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki to set up a high-powered investigative team to ascertain the circumstances surrounding such a high volume of killing of Christians was a step in the right direction.

The statement further noted ‎that since the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of IPOB, Chidiebere Onwudiwe, IPOB’s national coordinator; Benjamin Onwuka, leader of Biafra Zionists Movement (BZM) whose over 100 members are currently languishing in various prison custodies, and other Igbo activists, no fewer than 2,000 Igbo youths had been killed by the Nigerian army, under the so-called Rule-of-Engagement.

Uzor said: “It is on record that two years of President Muhammadu Buhari’s leadership has witnessed the highest number of killings of innocent Nigerians than the previous 17 years of uninterrupted democracy and past military administrations put together.”

Meanwhile, the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) has raised allegation that President Muhammadu Buhari has a secret detention centre managed by the Department of State Services (DSS).

In a statement, signed by Emma Powerful who is the spokesperson of IPOB, he said the detention centre was being used to coach foreign witnesses who will testify against Nnamdi Kanu, the director of Radio Biafra when he appears in court.

PoliticsSenate To Investigate Southern Kaduna Killings — Saraki by Kemperor(op): 2:01pm On Jan 03, 2017
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has said that the senate would commence investigation into the recent killings in southern Kaduna State.
Mr. Saraki made the announcement in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on New Media, Bamikole Omishore, in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to Mr. Saraki, the Senate will on resumption from recess on Jan. 10, make the issue a priority.
Mr. Omishore said the Senate president made the disclosure while responding to a tweet posted by Chimeze Ukoha on the Kaduna killings.
The statement quoted Mr. Ukoha as saying that “about 800 Christians were massacred in Southern Kaduna and nobody is talking about that, very bad.’’
It quotes Mr. Saraki as responding that “once @ngrsenate resumes, this issue will be addressed to get a clearer picture of what the real situation is and find a lasting solution.
“Every Nigerian life matters and @ngrsenate will work to ensure that rule of law is always upheld as prescribed by the Nigerian Constitution.’’
The statement explained that Mr. Saraki was already in touch with senators from Kaduna State and that he was constantly getting updates on developments.

you show me the map of eastern region and you say you are not laying claims to a region. What you IPOB guys don't seem to understand is the saying "unity in diversiity" in Nigeria, it is our diversity that unify us. We have about 350 ethnic groups. It is these groups that forms Nigeria not your language. Even in igbo speaking areas, say Abia state for example, an ngwa man would not want an Umuahia man to lord over him. Same with Aba man and Umuahia man. It is this diversity that prevents Nigeria from breaking up not your so called shout of free Nnamdi Kanu. The average Igbo man does not give a fu:ck. All he cares about is wake up in the morning, pray to his God for a good day, and goes about his business. It is the elites that are championing this secession thing.
Who told u that am an Igbo person...
I was just giving u wat Ben murry Bruce call "common sense"....
Ur example with Ngwa, Aba, Ummuahia doesn't make any relevant sense... cos it is lik that in every states...even in the world...it is the nature of man...or u can call it tradition...or what eva u want...
All african countries n even som part of the world have different ethnic groups witin d country...
What still kips their existence, is their unity...but it is not so in Nigeria... now forget Biafra.... what is the percentage unity of the "Hausa tribe and the Yoruba tribe (apart from Ass licking)huh? Or the Igbo tribe and the Yoruba tribe...huh?
Nigeria is a failed country...we all know that...
Dis regions can't blend...the states can't blend... its been like that since pre and post colonialism... so y decisive ourselveshuh??

one fu:cking thing you guys don't realize is that just because you speak the same language does not mean you can claim all the language speaking areas example is Hausa speaking areas. Hausa man cannot lay claim to Niger state.. lands are held in trust for us by our leaders. it is this land that are joined together to form states, countries, etc. the larger the large the land held, the large you can lay claim to. an example is Benin kingdom. nobody can take Benin from the Binis. the igbos have just small clans. now they want to claim a region
Who told u d igbos want to claim a regionhuh
I told u how it was b4 state creation...
U hear d some south south people saying they r not joining biafra... biafra dont even care because they want their own country..
Can you google the smallest country in the worldhuh?.....den u will know Biafra is big compare to what u have in mind...
The Benin got that land through conquest in war and that why u have too many tribes there ... today it is called EDO... well u dont seem to be understanding what you are saying....
Look at that map and see how state creation divided the Eastern Region...take a close look at it and understand... look at the distance of EDO to Cross River.... how dey encompass the Eastern State... den ask ur self d position of the Four Cardinal Direction ...
What kind of compass did Gowon usehuh?
State creation was a political game...

before lord lugard's amalgamation, was there any state like anambra, imo, ebonyi, abia or enugu state? No. Was there any region like biafra? No. All this states were created by Nigeria. Another thing is that there is no major kingdom or major king in that area to say this was our territory like the benin kingdom for example. Biafra was a name created by Ojukwu for his selfish reasons. Therefore, you cannot give what you don't have. Another issue is the use of the word WE. Who is WE? Speak for yourself. It is only when there's been a referendum that the majority can use the word WE.

PoliticsS/africa Policeman Suffocates Nigerian To Death, Abduct Others by Kemperor(op): 8:10pm On Jan 01, 2017
- President of Nigeria Union in South Africa, Ikechukwu Anyene, has accused South African police of murder and abduction of Nigerians

- Anyene says a Nigerian was handcuffed and suffocated to death by a policeman

- He calls on Nigerian government to prevail on South Africa government to stop the killings of Nigerians in the country

S/Africa police allegedly suffocate Nigerian to death, abduct other

The South African police have been accused of killing a Nigerian living in the country while another Nigerian was also abducted in the country.

Ikechukwu Anyene, the president of Nigeria Union in South Africa, confirmed the death and abduction to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on telephone from Pretoria.

Anyene added that both incidents had been reported to the Nigerian Mission in the country.

He told NAN that one Victor Nnadi, a native of Orlu in Imo, was suffocated to death on Thursday December 22 by the Metropolitan Police in Cape Town while one Austin Agunwa, a native of Umuawulu, in Awka South local government area of Anambra, was abducted by unidentified persons at Rustenburg, North West Province on Dec. 24.

According to Anyene, an eye witnesses saw the police handcuff the victim and suffocated him to death.

“When the people saw what happened, they raised an alarm and confronted the police.

“The union`s chapter in Cape Town is already on top of the situation and trying its best to facilitate the release of the detained brother of the deceased,” he said.

Speaking further, Anyene call on the federal government to prevail on the South African government to put measures in place to stop the wanton killing of Nigerians.

He also disclosed that Nigerians in the province in efforts to get to the root of the matter raised a search team which later found the abandoned car of the victim after a crash near a bridge

However, Anyene, noted that the vehicle had no blood stain.

“As we speak, we don’t know his whereabouts and nobody has claimed responsibility for his abduction.

“We have directed the union`s chapter in the area to report the incident to the police and open a case on the missing Nigerian,” he said.

On the other hand, Anyene disclosed that the union`s national body would work together with Nigeria’s High Commission to visit Rustenburg over the incident.

He however calls for calm, adding that the situation is being handled by the relevant Nigerian authority in South Africa.

“We have also advised our people to be calm and remain law abiding as the union and the Nigerian Mission are handling the situation,” he said.

PoliticsProphet Says Atiku Will Defeat PMB In 2019, Biafra Will Come To Pass & 50 More by Kemperor(op): 7:54pm On Jan 01, 2017
- Prophet Olagunju, who accurately predicted President Muhammadu Buhari victory in the 2015 election, has said the president will be dethroned in 2019 election by former vice president Atiku Abubakar- He says that Igbo’s desire for Biafra nation has received divine approval- The prophet says no amount of peace talk can prevent Nigeria’sdisintegrationProphet Wale Olagunju, the presiding Bishop of Divine Seed of God Chapel Ministries in Ibadan, Oyo state, has released his prophecies for 2017.Prophet Olagunju, who accurately predicted President Muhammadu Buhari victory in the 2015 election, has revealed that the Nigerian president will be dethroned in 2019 election by former vice president Atiku Abubakar, The Sun reports.

The man of God, in a 52-point prophecy for the Year 2017 also foretold the possibility of the country splitting into five as he claimed to have foreseen,“the map of Nigeria torn into five,”saying,“no amount of peace talk can prevent Nigeria’s disintegration. It is a matter of time.”He predicted that the Igbo’s desire for Biafra nation has received divine approval.Below are his prophecies for Nigeria in the year:

1. As revealed by the Almighty God who will never share his glory with mortal man, the present generation of Nigerian leaders in thelikes of Obasanjo, Babangida, Gowon, Danjuma, Abdusallam and Buhari will pass away before the emergence of the Messiah that will lead Nigeria to the promise land. The problem in our Nation will be so much that what we are witnessing now will be a child play to what we will see and hear and there will be chaos and distrust all over the nation as a result of which the messiah will emerge. This messiah, an unknown person, will proffer solutions (to the problems); conduct referendum and will break Nigeria peacefully. As revealed to me further by the creator of the universe, the reign of this messiah will be brief. God of Abraham has concluded in heaven to raise for Himself the young man who will give divine solution and execute God’s programme for Nigeria.

2. There is going to be serious fight between Obasanjo and Buharias revealed by God Almighty.

3. Notable chieftains of the APC and the PDP who are talking of 2019 without due reference to God will not live to witness that year.

4. There is going to be rowdy session in the National Assembly in the coming year.

5. The present war against Bola Tinubu will continue but many of those fighting him will come back to eat their words.

6. God again revealed to me that Nigeria is seriously sick and thatthe only drug that can cure her is National Repentance Prayer. Failure to do this, God says Nigeria will continue to wallow in problems. God warned Nigerians not to look up to their leaders forsolutions but to God Almighty as they have none to their problems.

7. God of heaven says He is angry with President Buhari because of his failure to alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians but instead adding to it. God says Buhari’s government is like a weed on the surface of the Atlantic Ocean.

8. God says those who think the PDP is dead are making a mistake as He [God] does not work in the counsel of men but in the reasoning of His words. God says the party will bounce back and its members in the APC will return to their original house.

9. The present rumpus in the APC will continue.

10. The Nigerian nation will continue to experience hardship unless serious steps are taken to seek the face of God.

11. Nigerians should pray for Buhari against high blood pressure, liver and kidney problem as the President is sick.

12. God says that He deliberately raised Donald Trump of America to execute His judgment on America for their sin of homosexuality being propagated by Obama/Hillary Clinton. God says Trump will at a stage behave like an anti-Christ.

13. God says the Yoruba nation will unite and rise again.

14. There is going to be sharp misunderstanding between Buhari and Osinbajo as a result of political differences.

15. God says any party that fields Buhari for the 2019 presidentialelection will be fielding liability as his candidacy will make the party lose the election. God says this will be so because Buhari has disappointed God by his failure to carry out His instruction aspublished in my 2016 predictions by national dailies to “wage waragainst corruption, execute God’s fierce judgment on those who sinned against God by looting as well as for his failure to demonstrate love to the poor by alleviating their suffering. God says for these reasons, He has torn his government and given it to another man after His heart to rule Nigeria. God says Buhari will continue to have problem till his last day in Aso Rock and people will continue to hate him because of his failure to rule withthe fear of God.

16. To show the extent to which Buhari’s disappointment is grieving God, God says he has rejected Buhari just like He did to Jonathan and even his people the Hausas will reject him come 2019. In the presence of Almighty God as revealed to me, Buhari have become a complete disappointing king/failure just like king Saul in the bible.

17. God says the name Atiku Abubakar will continue to ring like a bell. He will be so popular among Nigerian politicians to the extent that many will root for him.

18. God says should Atiku Abubakar contest the 2019 election, hewill defeat Buhari hands down.

19. The 2018 Governorship election in Ekiti state will cause a sharp division in the APC camp because of the inordinate ambition of some of their self-centred leaders. The party in the state will break into three factions as revealed to me by God.

20. God says the APC is being faced by three major problems of backbiting, unnecessary petition against former leaders and total hijack of the party structure from pioneer members.

21. Tambuwal and David Mark will be drafted to contest the 2019 Presidential election but God says the cabal of our nation will prefer Governor Tambuwal of Sokoto state.

22. Nigerians should pray against fire accident in the coming year.

23. God says that except that the Nigeria nation repent of the sin of its leaders who killed innocent souls, sin of FESTAC ’77 and sinof corruption which placed the country under the curse of the Almighty, the country’s problem will continue.

24. Prophet T. B. Joshua should pray seriously to avert sickness.25. General T. Y. Danjuma should also pray against sickness.

26. God says I. B. B. will continue to remain in sickness.

27. God says for Buhari to have taken the problem of Nigeria to Kaaba in Mecca as if there is no God in Nigeria and rather than motivate the entire nation to fast and seek the face of God, He [God] will continue to raise adversaries against his government and Nigerians will continue to hate him.

28. God again warned that should the APC field Buhari in 2019, the broom will be broken and thrown into fire just like I predicted to PDP in 2014.

29. God Almighty says President Buhari is too rigid and stubborn.God says the President has set aside His mandate for him to cleanse the nation of corruption. God says He is only giving the President the grace to motivate Nigerians for special repentance prayer.

30. Serving ministers in Buhari’s government should watch their steps as the President is set to drop some of them and reshuffle his government.

31. God says Governor Aregbesola of Osun state will continue to swim in problems until he gets out of office as a result of the recognition he gave to the Osun Osogbo idol.

32. God says he will inflict those who loot Nigeria treasury with sickness. They will henceforth be inflicted with dreaded sicknesses that will lead to untimely death unless they repent.

33. God says Goodluck Jonathan will never win any election again in Nigeria as a result of his sin against the Almighty.

34. God says 2019 election will be tougher than the 2015.

35. The executive and the National Assembly will go on a serious collision course in the coming year. Buhari should be careful lest he is accused of non-implementation of budget.

36. Nigerians should pray for Awujale of Ijebu land.

37. Those who say the Biafra nation will not materialise are dreaming for the Igbos have taken their case to the creator of the universe and He has granted their heart desire.

38. PDP will bounce back to become a formidable party in Oyo state again.

39. Buhari should watch his steps to avoid impeachment.

40. As revealed by God, should Buhari fail to take it easy with the people of the South-South and South-East and go ahead to use military power, Nigeria may go to civil war.

41. As revealed by God, a new generation of military officers will in future overthrow the government of Nigeria to clear the rot perpetrated by reckless politicians.

42. Before 2019, there will be amalgamation of political heavyweight and political party that will give the APC sleepless nights.

43. The on-going war against corruption will soon lose value as the President will bend the rules and soft pedal because of inordinate and self-interest.

44. A prominent artiste will fall sick in the coming year.

45. Nigerians should pray for Baba Sala.

46. Come 2019 general election, PDP will fight the APC to a standstill.

47. APC should forget about winning 2019 election for another government will emerge that will probe their government.

48. Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode should be prayerful to avoid being at loggerhead with the elite. He should also pray to avert sickness.

49. Another strong party will emerge before the 2019 election.

50. God Almighty who revealed to me in my 2015/2016 predictionthat Buhari is not the Messiah says the promised Messiah will use his mandate to settle all problems confronting Nigeria. The said Messiah will conduct a referendum so as to peacefully breakNigeria without civil war.

51. God says three out of the four pillars that are holding the APC have broken down as a result of their greed, inordinate ambition, stubbornness, favouritism, tribal and religious sentiment and therefore their days in government are numbered.

52. God revealed to me and I saw the map of Nigeria torn into five,by this no amount of peace talk can prevent Nigeria’s disintegration. It is a matter of time.

PoliticsMisguided People’ve Taken Up Arms Against The Country – Buhari by Kemperor(op): 7:24pm On Jan 01, 2017
As Nigeria enters a new phase in the battle against Boko Haram, President Muhammadu Buhari has alerted that misguided people have decided to take up arms against the country.

“These people must be brought to face the full weight of the law,’’ he warned.

In a new message on Sunday, Buhari urged Nigerians to be on the alert and watch out for strange figures settling in their communities, and report to the nearest security agencies.

Aside the remnants of Boko Haram fleeing from the captured Sambisa Forest to mix with public to inflict mayhem, other groups in states were fomenting trouble.

The ugly crises across some states, he said, could not be allowed to fester as they strain the unifying bonds of brotherhood and neighbourliness.

“In this New Year, I want to reassure all Nigerians that our defence and security forces are more than ever before ready to perform their constitutional role of protecting lives and property in the country.

“We will surely overcome all other forms of security challenges.

“The lingering security issues in several states will be frontally addressed.’’

He advised that some sections of the press and some politicians should avoid provocative and inflammatory statements, and promised that the government was painstakingly trying to find solutions to national challenges.

“I want to remind you on the first day of this New Year of an African proverb that says “it is easy to break a broomstick but not a bunch”.

He said that Nigeria was a bunch and more than equal to troublemakers.

“I have interacted with a broad spectrum of Nigerians, the old and the young, and they have told me unequivocally that they believe in the unity and stability of Nigeria.

Nigerians should support security agencies to enable them successfully execute their mandate of effectively securing the country.

“The year 2017 provides an opportunity for us to build on those aspects of our national life that unite us. We are courageous, hardworking, hospitable, steadfast and resilient people, even in the face of difficulties.

“These are the attributes that define us and have for years confounded the pessimists who do not believe in our continued existence as a united and indivisible nation.’’

He said that Nigerians should continue to support and tolerate one another and live together as one.

Buhari promised to continue to pursue peace initiatives in the Niger Delta and appealed to the oil rich region against taking to violence, disruptions of economic infrastructure and to embrace dialogue.

“As for our brothers and sisters of the Shia Community, we urge them, too, to embrace peace. They must accept the laws of the country they live in.

“They cannot be islands by themselves. At the same time, the law enforcement agencies must treat them humanely and according to the rule of law.’’

He said that the government, had since inauguration on May 29, 2015 focused energies to turn around the economy, create jobs, fight corruption, and transform agriculture to replace oil and gas as a major revenue earner for the nation.

“I am encouraged that we are getting things right.

“The agricultural revolution has begun. Farmers in different parts of the country are experiencing bumper harvests; states are getting into strategic partnership towards attaining self-sufficiency in rice, and the era of over-dependence on oil for foreign exchange revenues is gradually waning.

“ I am optimistic that the CHANGE we all yearned for in voting this administration to power in 2015 will manifest more and be sustained in different sectors, particularly agriculture, in 2017.’’
