Bolustical:Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has said the current administration was implementing the masterplan introduced by former President, Olusegun Obasanjo for the development of Nigerian Railway Transport. Amaechi while fielding questions from journalists yesterday in Abuja, said the federal government was currently working on Lagos-Ibadan rail project adding that the contract for Ibadan-Kaduna and Kaduna to Kano rail projects has been awarded. He said hopefully, the China Nexim Bank would approve the loan to commence construction adding that they are negotiating for the contract for Port Harcourt to Maiduguri, which is about 2,000km. Amaechi however debunked rumors that armed robbers attack Abuja-Kaduna rail at the Rijana Community, stating that there are armed policemen in all the coaches. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://guardian.ng/news/we-are-using-obasanjos-masterplan-to-develop-railway-transport-says-amaechi/amp&ved=2ahUKEwjryfPlsrfiAhW4QxUIHVeVB1UQFjANegQIBxAB&usg=AOvVaw3q7x4RvEm4Xz3mBrU8cKZK&cf=1 |
Honor10:You made it sound like there are 7-10 Nigerians on the list and all are Yorubas apart from Dangote and Rabiu. There are 2 Northerners and 2 Yorubas on this list. It's something, so I won't deny you whatever feeling of euphoria it gives you. However, these people have been billionaires for several years now, and we've always known that they are billionaires. There's no new info provided by this list especially regarding Nigerian billionaires. Having billionaires (in dollars) is only useful for ethnic bragging as we normally see on Nairaland. It doesn't necessarily have any impact on the lives of average citizens of the region, otherwise Dangote's North West wouldn't have been one of the 2 poorest geopolitical zones in Nigeria. To appreciate it better, there's no South African or Egyptian on that list, yet they have far better economies than Nigeria and Zimbabwe that are both represented. |
RIP Kennedy aka HungerBAD. I was never close to you but from what people are saying, you were a good man. May your death serve to remind those of us who are still alive that our departure will come one day, and may that consciousness help us put our lives in order (especially as regards our relationship with God) as we await that great day. |
anyimontana:As in eh, I tire for the OP o. |
windhunter:Sorry about your condition. Meanwhile, you should go and see a neurologist. Go to any teaching hospital or federal medical centre close to you and request to see a neurologist. You may need MRI of the spine done if you're having pins and needles in the limbs. |
Harddiskng:Isn't pushing a form of physical assault? |
Alapafaari:Lagos has everything on ground to be great: busiest International airport, seaports that receive 80% of imports into Nigeria, massive population, corporate headquarters of most multinational companies in the country, a large number of industries, former federal capital territory etc. None of these were by the making of Tinubu. Even a dullard will make an excellent governor of Lagos as long as we keep comparing Lagos to other states. It's when you compare Lagos to other cities of it's status in Africa (not even the whole world), like Johannesburg, Cairo, Cape Town etc that you will know Lagos it's all hype but little substance. |
post=78573052:Just the same way EPL threads have far more comments than threads on NPFL (which are almost never seen anyway). It's all about quality. |
iammo: Kennydoc: iammo:Iammo, you're a very fake online braggart. I feel disappointed in myself that I regarded you more than you're worth. You're just an empty noisemaker. The young boy who was showing himself last night, that I referred to, probably deserves more respect than you. Anyway, I now understand your type. I've learnt my lesson. |
landmark86:Really? It's over 4 months since he made the promise, and I'm not sure he reminded them that he would still give them the money. Infact, he has probably forgotten he made such a promise. The best time to fulfil a promise is immediately you have the means. If you delay, you may lose motivation. Davido is fake sha. |
Yujin:His argument is actually disgusting. He's actually trying to argue a fact known by every Nigerian including Buhari himself. I don't know what he hopes to achieve. |
iammo:I am not following you to any betting site. Show your proof here on Nairaland so that other members can see it. We can sort out the bet here. |
iammo:Which different data are you talking about? Where else do you want to get your data from? This is from the presidency, young man. I even have reservations about the figures cos many of those appointments (especially those from the South East) don't fall under the key appointments I insisted on. |
iammo:https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/248347-ogun-imo-kano-highest-number-buharis-appointees-presidency.html ...Mr. Adesina showed a graphical illustration of different states and the number of top appointees from the respective states...The link above gives us a graphical representation of Buhari's appointments so far based on states. Adding the figures from the graph: South East = 36 South West = 54 South South = 45 North West = 60 North East = 50 North Central = 54 Total = 299 South East ratio = 36/299 x 100 = 12% So based on this, South East accounts for 12% of Buhari's appointments. Can I see your proof that it's at least 16.67%? If you can't show it, you'll have to send me 360k tonight. |
iammo:You sure aren't ready for this, are you? You won't want to swim in this deep water, I'm quite sure of that, cos there's absolutely no basis for this argument. I'm even appalled we're talking about this. |
iammo:I don't understand. Haven't done a bet online before. Why do people have to stake? Well, you're obviously deceiving yourself in this matter. Even Buhari himself cannot bet on this. All the facts are out there in the media for all to see. Perhaps, you can start by giving me the South East match of the first set of positions I listed since we started this argument. That will be a good point to start. |
iammo:So which site and how is it going to be carried through? What do you mean by the point in bold? |
iammo:Which site and what is the modality of the bet? Remember the bet is that you prove to me that there are as many as 16% South Easterners appointed by Buhari in key positions (or 1 South Easterner for every 3 Northerners). Key positions obviously are heads of MDAs not members of boards. Remember this is what I said first: Prove to me that there are as many as 16% Igbos (and 50% Christians) in all Buhari's key appointments and I will pay you 20k this evening. |
iammo:Yeah, because it's a gift not a bet. If you want a bet, we can stake £500 or £1000, if you so desire. Are you in? If the point in bold is a reference to the kid last night, he was too little to get me engage him in a bragging contest. There was simply no need. With you, I can go that length if you want it so. |
iammo:Prove to me that there are as many as 16% Igbos (and 50% Christians) in all Buhari's key appointments and I will pay you 20k this evening. Nobody is disrespecting any other zone. Ministers of Labour and Foreign affairs are from the South East, so I am not looking down on other zones cos they had some of those positions you listed. |
iammo:I should be advising you on the bolded, cos I am surprised we're even arguing this. What's 'economical' with Works and Housing, Labour, Health, Foreign Mission, Information Tech, Transport etc ministries? Why should the North be security favoured? Is it only in the North that there are security issues? Are herdsmen not killing people in the South? Is there no militancy in the South? Are there kidnapping and armed robbery in the South? Are there no serving security personnel from the South? So why should the North lead all security-based parastatals apart from the Navy? Hope you remember that the current Minister of Finance is a northerner? Adeosun resigned and was not replaced by somebody from Ogun state. In all those appointments both the ones I listed and the ones you listed, how many people from the South East are there? Is South East not supposed to have 1/6 of appointments in the spirit of equity and justice? Don't tell me there are Federal Ministers from the SE cos it's purely a constitutional matter that every state must produce a minister. If it had been strictly the president's choice, I'm sure there won't be more than 3 ministers from the SE. |
iammo:President: North. Senate President: North. Speaker: North. SGF: North CJN: North. Pres. Court of Appeal: North. CJ Federal High Court: North IGP: North. DG DSS: North. DG NIA: North. CG NSCDC: North. Minister Defence: North. NSA: North. Minister Finance: North. Minister Petroleum: North. Minister Aviation: North. Chief of Air Staff: North. Chief of Army Staff: North. CG Customs: North. CG Immigration: North. CG Prisons: North. GMD NNPC: North. Chairman CCB: North. Chairman CCT: North. Chairman EFCC: North. Director of NFIU: North. Chairman INEC: North. Population Chairman: North. DG/CEO Nat'l Identity: North. FAAN: North If you want to consider religion in those appointments, I think only the Speaker and SGF are Christians there. Having looked at those positions (mostly appointed and a few elected ones), does it appear to you like Buhari understands what equity and justice imply? Those are the most critical positions in Nigerian government. Where is the South and where are Christians in all those appointments? |
iammo:Still doesn't change anything. If 80% of Buhari's appointees in key positions are from the North when ideally it should have been approximately 50% (considering the principle of federal character), then he's a tribalist and a northern supremacist. It doesn't matter if all the appointees are all Fulani or not. That said, more of his appointees are Fulani than any other ethnicity though. |
YoungAncient1:Exactly. What makes democracy day interesting is that the president and governors are sworn in, and have their anniversaries on that day. |
Ugosample:Never said you can love 2 women the same way but you can at least love 2 women at the same time. A woman's heart is not built to love 2 men at a time, at all. |
Ugosample:Of course. Haven't you seen and read news of men that got married to 2 women on the same day? |
EditZone:I'm neither for polygamy nor polyandry, but it doesn't make sense naturally for a woman to marry 4 men. We all know that the primary reason for sex is procreation. If a woman marries (not just sleeps around) with 4 men, what if they all decide they want to have kids in the same year? Even in animal husbandry, just one bull is needed in a ranch to take care of 20 or more cows. Same with other animals that can be reared. Also, by nature, it's very much difficult for a woman to love more than one man genuinely. When women love, they love deeply with all their hearts. They commit their whole lives into the person. Men on the other hand love superficially. Men fall in love more easily but it's usually not that deep, and that's why a man can love 2 girls at the same time and find it difficult to choose one over another. Let me reiterate that I am not in support of polygamy or polyandry. I believe a man should have one wife and vice versa. By God's grace, I am going to "eat one egusi" for the rest of my life. So help me God. |
Muyiwaipere:Same thing that went thru my mind when I saw the headline. The spirit of death is hovering over Nigerian universities. These things aren't just normal. |
idonhammer:Take note of these facts: 1. South East doesn't mean the same thing as Igbo. While SE is a geopolitical zone, Igbo is a tribe. There isn't any tribe called South South. In the SS geopolitical zone, there are many tribes which include: Ijaw, Urhobo, Itsekiri, Isoko, Igbo, Ibibio, Annang, Efik etc. 2. Before Babangida divided Nigeria into geopolitical zones, Igbo already existed. SS and SE are recent introductions to Nigeria. 3. Most of the Biafran soldiers that caused the 1966 coup were from the present day Delta Igbo like Kaduna Nzeogwu and Emmanuel Ifeajuna, yet that coup is still referred to as Igbo coup today. |
Westtimeline:₦99,999 x 3 = ₦299,997. All these noise you're making is because of less than ₦300k? I'm sure it's actually not up to ₦200k. Wow! There are indeed many kids on Nairaland. You won't be able to push me to engage you in this show off. It's not necessary. Just a little assignment for you. Go and check out the post I made on 16th May at 12:11pm. It's the 30th post of mine, counting back from this present one. Good night. |
Westtimeline:Can you show me where I've ever mentioned that Yorubas didn't vote for Jonathan in 2015? Big shame on you if you can't show that to me. Arguing with you is simply irritating cos you're irrational, and you sound very stupid. Not everybody on Nairaland is poor and wretched. If you're in need of monetary help, you can ask with respect and I will give you. Go and check my post on Easter day. The brother that didn't even specifically ask me for recharge card got it from me. Stop being silly with all these gala talk. There are multiple thousands of Igbos who are landlords in that same Lagos. |
Westtimeline:I said it that you're lazy and dumb, and you keep proving it. Calculate the total number of votes Abiola won in the South East and divide it by the total number of votes cast in the South East, then multiply it by 100. If the value is less than 48.35%, I will send you ₦20k now. Stop showing your stupidity to the whole world. |
