the list looks reasaonable enough, i dont watch much local football but i have seen john oweri, king osanga and gbolahan salami play and they are really good, i think if we're dropping Ayila and Kaita we should be recalling olofinjana who was unfairly dropped in my opinion. the guy is a bit slow and not the best ball winner but he he is much better than the other two when it comes to handling the ball, on the downside he is at the end of his career so that may be y he has not been recalled

SportsRe: Our Falconets Are Being Shabbily Treated By Nigeria! by Kgdavid(m): 3:37pm On Jul 19, 2010
well i agree with some things in the article and not with others, it i the duty of nigeria to ensure that the players representing the country at whatever level are given the best accomodation, security and insurance that we can afford, and God knows we can afford to do better than what im reading here. as for the amount they get as bonuses and allowances i dont think there is anything really wrong with that cuz a player is supposed to earn his/her bread when playing for his/her club side and not when representing the nation which is an honour. but since we do make some money whenever we participate in fifa competitions, the girls should be paid proportionate to what amount fifa gives us and no more. the demand to watch the falconets is way to low to justify the celebrity status they're demanding

guys here fall into three categories, boot lickers who say everything to appear as nice guys, this bunch generally camp here at the romance section. then we have the cool, intellectual ones who argue about any possible topic, typically found in the politics and sports sections. and then there are those who do not know their left from their right, lipsrsealed

if u want a meaningful conversation go and meet 'one of the boys' you cannot expect a woman to be both! same a woman wont expect her man to chose her clothes paint her toenails take note of her horoscope and 'gossip' abt the neighbours with her!
so ur saying women are not capable of meaningful convo?

chiogo:
You did imply that most of them who do not visit the sections you mentioned are unintelligent when you said, "there are a few somewhat friendly, helpful, and intelligent ones." That's ignorant of you to think visiting a specific section supposedly makes you intelligent.
tbh that line was added as an after thought so that my post would not be misconstrued as an all out assault on NL girls. this particular sentiment which i expressed and you refer to above, is my attempt so say that in the few encounters i've had with ladies on NL, even tho they have been less pleasant than unpleasant there have actually been pleasant ones.

as far as im concerned, girlfriends fall into the same category as watching football, hobby. fiance or wife is a different ball game but she is obviously going to be someone reasonable enough not to deliberately make a pest of herself. heck, in my younger days, i once quit a part time job cuz my boss wanted me to work an extra day(saturday) while man u wer playing talkess of one irritating girl.

reason why they are 2 different genders- they generally like 2 different things, a woman doesnt HAVE to like politics or technology, it wont make her any less intelligent! gosh!
i never said they r not intelligent, i said they do not engage in meaningful conversation, u can be intelligent but choose not to apply it to reasonable purposes.
RomanceRe: What Do You Think Of Nairaland Girls? by Kgdavid(m): 11:37am On Jul 17, 2010
the guys thread went up to 7 pages but the chics thread is on 20! this should tell u wat u need to know bout NL ladies. they re a narcissistic bunch; mostly rude, with a strong unjustifiable superiority complex who largely do not engage in meaningful conversation and as such are found in large numbers in the romance, fashion, celebrity and of course food sections but are almost completely absent from the politics and technology section. there are a few somewhat friendly, helpful and intelligent ones but there are hardly any who do not consider themselves to be the hottest thing on the planet and therefore behave with the level of ego expected of such.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by Kgdavid(m): 2:31pm On Jul 16, 2010
looking critically at our squad it is apparent that our main problems are with our full back slots and in midfield, evra's gettin older and we need a reliable deputy for him and the da silva bros are way too injury prone. de laet is merely decent and o'shea is also getin older while brown looks to be on the decline so i think we would do well to strengthen the squad with fullbacks. in midfield Fletcher is really the only reliable player as carrick and anderson are playing like sunday league guys, scholes is getting ancient and gibson will never be good enough. there are good young players in the reserves who can fill these spots but i dont think they are fully ready for the first team yet so i expect SAF to be looking for suitable reinforcements. out on the flank im not sure what to expect really, we only have nani and valencia as reliable top class players with a big question mark over obertan, is he really good enough?? guess we'll have to see, up front i think we have got it rght finally, Rooney, Hernandez, Berbatov, Diouf, Owen and Macheda is a very good pool of players. i have been observing Hernandez, Diouf and Macheda very closely and im of the opinion that all three have what it takes to make it here. iparticularly think a partnership of berbatov and hernandez would be perfect with berbatovs good link up play and hernandez's pace and clinicality. rooney and maybe diouf could be another winning formula as diouf looks similar to saha, a player with whom rooney connected very well. in defence, with rio, vidic, smalling, evans, brown and o'shea we're heavily stocked. i'm expecting we'll be promotting a couple of young players tho, players such as cleverly, james, rodrigo and possibly king and eikrem look like they are ready to enter the fold so lets see what ace fergie has up his sleeve
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by Kgdavid(m): 2:20am On Jul 16, 2010
@ sauron what do you have against german players? i could agree with some of your points but i really think we need at least two new midfielders, one as a DM to replace Hargreaves and potentially compete with fletcher and a good attacking minded midfielder who can score goals. apart from this i guess we would be fine. lahm is one of the best attackin fullbacks around, after Ramos, Maicon and Alves who else could really be a better option for our right back spot?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by Kgdavid(m): 5:24pm On Jul 15, 2010
the list is not really based on who i want but on recent transfer speculation, Lahm is not coming in as a left back if he comes, he is coming as a right back, meireles is definately better than carrick, a much better goal scorer and he offers something both in defence and attack, besides, carrick has been dead for way too long. anderson has potential but is taking way too long to settle down, there's interest in him from france so i say let him go, dont really rate balotelli but it seems united r interested in him so , undecided.

ideally i would want:
Carrrick, Park, Berbatov, Gibson, Hargreaves out and
Schweinstiger, Lahm, Toulalan, Sanchez, Neuer in.

the nazi aint going anywhere tho so id settle for meireles who is of a similar mould albeit of slightly lower quality
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by Kgdavid(m): 2:36pm On Jul 15, 2010
apparently hargreaves is out again and wont be in uniteds squad in the U.S, time to let hm go, along with him should go carrick, anderson and berbatov. incoming should/could be raul meireles, steven defour, phillip lahm and balotelli

thats not too shabby, thats more than what some doctors were earning ten years ago @ 60-80 k a month. but what are our youth systems like?? i think the NFA should be more focused on making sure the right environment is put in place for young players, its going to cost a lot but i beleive that it will definately pay off both for the national team and for the domestic leagues and ultimately economically.
FamilyRe: I Want To Name My Next Child "fabregas"! Please, What's Your Honest Opinion? by Kgdavid(m): 1:49am On Jul 15, 2010
on second thought go ahead, the child will definately go on to be a great nigerian politician, its in the nigerian polity that you find the weirdest names of all so in the next few years im looking forward to hearing of honourable Fabregas Ohoakim or Fabregas Ajade or Fabregas dan Fodio. good luck to u!
FamilyRe: I Want To Name My Next Child "fabregas"! Please, What's Your Honest Opinion? by Kgdavid(m): 3:37pm On Jul 14, 2010
abhosts:
It is not his Surname. His full name is Francesc Fabregas i Soler.
its his surname, in spanish culture a child bears his first name then his paternal surname and then his maternal surname so the fabregas is his paternal surname and hence his real surname.

Dis Guy:
The bloody irony, see nigerian saying someone else is giving his child European

Donald Duke nah Calabar abi African name?
its okay to give your child a european name but the point is not to misapply the name. the part of the problem african faces today is that we try to emulate the west but we do so incorrectly. you wont find a spanish child called fabregas something, his name will be something fabregas, geddit? u wanna honour fabregas than use his first name fransesc for your child or change your own surname to Fabregas. dont forget that this is a child that has feelings and is not merely an extension of your possessions that you may carry out your every whim with. your child will have to live with the baggage of whatever name you give him for at least 18 years(this probably will include merciless mockery from peers), be considerate, what if the child grows up to hate arsenal and spanish football?
FamilyRe: I Want To Name My Next Child "fabregas"! Please, What's Your Honest Opinion? by Kgdavid(m): 1:24pm On Jul 14, 2010
why would you want to give an african child a european surname for a first name??

for the girl to be deliberately calling you during matches it simply shows that she is the kind of person that likes to push people to the limit, that she does not place any import on your interests and desires and that she demands to be the centre of your world, personally i cant tolerate such. im sure you guys dont talk for the entire 24 hrs of the day, at most maybe 2 hrs? y does she have to deliberately pick the 2 hrs wen u r watchin the game to call? shows that she is a spoilt brat. imagine someone saying some crap about recording a match!! is there a shortage of brains these days or wathuh y should u record a live match that will occur just once to talk to someone that is live in your life every day? obviously someone who has nothing better to say than some idle small talk, "how was your day do you miss me" kind of thing. thats the thing about women, give em an inch and they'll take a mile.

SportsRe: Will The Glory Days Of Nigerian Football Ever Return? by Kgdavid(m): 3:51pm On Jul 05, 2010
JIY:
Will the glory days of Nigerian football ever return? Those were days of innocence. Pre-internet saturation days, and not everyone had access to cable or Satellite tv. One or two benevolent well-to-do persons in your neighborhood would have access to satellite. There we gathered on weekends to see our stars--Tijani Babangida, Finidi George, Sunday Oliseh, Daniel Amokachi, et al. We were so proud. We adopted as our own the club sides in which our players plied their careers.

Those days were days of innocence. We were not worldly-wise then as we are now. We knew we had potential. We suspected we were good, but we didn't think we were the giant of anything.

Then we became worldly-wise and our eyes opened. Suddenly, we were the giants of Africa, no longer Green Eagles, but Super Eagles.

Our players grew fat with pride and the whole nation got drunk with delusion. We are Nigeria, don't you know? Who is Ghana? Who is Cameroon? Who is Zambia? Zimbabwe? ho,ho, ho, ,
Angola? Who born monkey?! Even if we are half awake or playing with one leg hobbled, Angola cannot even dare, haba!

Fiam!
We did not qualify for the 2006 World Cup. Forget about that, we are still Nigeria, Super Eagles, giant of Africa. Angola did not really beat us, you see. We only allowed them. Even Jay-Jay alone, ehn! Jay-Jay alone, ah tey you!

2010.

President Goodluck Jonathan
: As we are sending you off to South Africa, stop at nothing but victory. Bring back the cup and make us proud.

Super Eagles
: We are the giants of Africa, we are the Super Eagles!

CNN
: In another development, the president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, has ban his nation's soccer team from all international competitions for two years. This follows the Super Eagles' disappointing run at FIFA World Cup, currently taking place in South Africa, where they finished at the bottom of their group. Viewers would recall that the USA won their group that included England.

Hey stop saying shyt here! African what did you call it. When mutalab commited dat crym what did we hear. Nigerians and their evil plans, all sort of shyt were said to us no african unity. When we where in the group stages no african unity. Now this mo'fuckers are in the quarters then they need AU! bleep that! We as Nigerians are not fully united we still have inter tribal wars, and you are seeking for african unity. Men bleep that again. Let Naija unite first before we think of african unity. So bleep them cuz they dont like us, maybe later.
pls do yourself a favour and think through what you say before you say it, how did our support change anything for Ghana? if anything we are the ones leeching off their sweat and not the other way around. did other african teams give them any extra players? or extra money? what exactly did we do for Ghana?
