the french camp is like a circus right now, of particular disappointment has been the conduct of patrice evra. i just hope this plays out in SA's favour |
dont mind him. how can you say that was a coming together of players when all replays show that kaka clearly saw him coming and clearly extended his elbow into his chest, off the ball. you only saw keita's dive abi? there is no nation that posseses such an impressive collection of divers as brazil. from lucio to kaka they are a bunch of sly cheats. but i bet you would vouch for luis fabiano as the cleanest player ever right? |
of course Kaka deserved it. at the end of the match he started playing dirty and tried to rile the ivorians, he deliberately elbowed Keita for no reason. Keita did dive but that was to draw attention to the foul and lets face it, who wins the award for the highest number of dives throughout that match? Kaka himself so i say good riddance to bad rubbish |
chidichris:are you a stalker? will you stop following me around to spout rubbish! irritating jobless pest |
Are you minding the brainless wenger? ![]() When dafts can't think of something meaningful to contribute on a discussion forum, they focus on pointless observations and theories and try making it a topic. The best treatment for people such as the poster is to ignore them, that's the key!
no offense but arent you being the pot calling the kettle black here? |
this funny cuz i remember two years back when my mom who does not watch football was passing by and noted, with annoyance, the way the same Yakubu was chewing gum during the national anthem. since primary school i was strictly tought that during the national anthem all other activities are to cease. its not such a big deal its just simple etiquette, something quite a few nigerians are not familiar with. |
will you people just get off yobo's back?? are you gonna say that you cannot see his effort on the pitch?? |
Ranoscky:both taiye and echiejle gettin injured in the same match was a freak coincidence that should not be taken into consideration when discussing tactical moves. greece did not create any clear cut chance and for that i praise our defence. they were good except when it came to set pieces. lagerback also messed up by starting Kaita on the right flank. there was absolutely no justification for this. |
12large:please dont get it twisted. he still remains one of nigerias best players but thats not saying a lot for him as our players are too poor for words. he has played more on the left wing for nigeria so i dont get y ur calling him a right winger. it really doesnt matter though. i knew he would not spark at the world cup cuz he did not even spark in the friendlies, maybe he is burnt out or off form. |
Ranoscky:yesterday he was out thought by his greek counterpart. as soon as Kaita got sent off the greeks threw on an extra striker. their formation was already 4 3 3 so imagine what the implication of that was? it meant they had four out and out attackers coming at as with our weakened midfield, what should we have done? very simply switch to 4 3 1 1 formation bringing in yusuf ayila and martins for odemwingie and haruna. at that stage of the game we still had one goal to protect and having the one man disadvantage that was the only reasonable thing to do. laggy boy merely changed his attacking personnel by bringin in obasi, that woeful player, they were then able to put tremendous pressure on our midfield although our defence kept them pinned back. this resulted in them taking shots from distance, two of which ended in goals. |
i just found these comments pitiable and laughable seeing how limp some of the players are but yobo as an individual has really tried, as an individual defender i hardly noticed any errors from him and he has always been full of passion on the pitch. he has played very well under the given circumstances. i guess he has done the right thing by trying to rally the troops for the final all important push. good luck boys. |
so somehow odemwingie is playing rubbish because of the formation? Odemwingie started out as a striker and only started playing flank for us under Berti Vogts. he can play either flank. the real problem with him is that he is an average player who has been made to feel great by playing with useless players against useless african teams. now he is getting exposed on the world stage. i still like the guy though. |
why dont you? im sure nairalanders would not mind contributing the money for your ticket if you would agree to serve your fatherland by going down to SA to face Joseph Yobo squarely, call him a loser to his face and ask him to shut up. ![]() |
apparently the girl was charged and has now apologized. the cop's actions are now being investigated though but i doubt much will come out of it. |
wat exactly was her crime? and why was she being so difficult? i found the whole situation to be highly embarrassing for the cop, i mean wrestling a 17 year old girl in public?? damn! one would have thought that he would have some smart move or "submission hold" to use to incapacitate her. that girl deserved that punch though, sometimes people can be too silly, you want to fight a cop? then, quite literally, prepare to face the wrath of the law. |
its the first time the world cup has come to Africa, as simple as that. this is something that should draw all africans together rather than separate us based on some useless sentiment of "its mine not yours". |
kobikwelu:i thought i was the only one that noticed, the swerve the ball took was extremely unnatural for a low shot, the ball is just too sensitive, i mean if you play a long pass the recipient had better control it very very very well on the first touch coz once it bounces its gone |
allow me to repeat myself it was not the referees fault! it was the linesman!! |
why is everyone hating on the referee? its the linesman that made the call! closer inspection revealed that the linesman was none other than , SANI KAITA! |
MRbrownJAY:so you are not aware that violent intent is a red cardable offense? |
This man, dont be a self righteous, and dont claim what you dont know. Some referees would have acted differently. Kaita was was wrong - fine. This referee we are talking about used walkie talkie for his decision, not the linesmen. If the walkie talkie is a useful tool, what stops them using it to disallow argentina goal against nigeria. were you informed that FIFA said after the match that there was an infringement against obasi which should have invalidated the argentines goal?. Dont lose your reasoning because we lost to greece, the bottom line is that we are wasting money in hiring unintelligent foreign coaches. Amoudu or sub amoudu would have given us the same result. I can see alot of deficiencies in largerback's approach and pattern of play which we cannot see in ivorien and even siasia olympics teams.
you are truly Kaitarized ignoramus. so do you think the radio transmitter is a tool that on its own shows whether a foul was committed? the referee uses it communicate with his linesmen, it is like a phone. the linesman obviously did not see samuels foul against obasi and thats all there is to it. |
a fine gentleman? are you kidding? is this what you call an apology? he is justifying his action by saying the greek player hurt him with the ball, hurt with the ball? how exactly do you hurt someone by pushing a ball onto their chest? what a hypocrite! the initial scuffle between him and the greek guy was fairly harmless and could be excused as silly but nothing in this world justifies raising up your boots to stamp on another player who merely pushed you away after you tried to take the ball from him. |
those saying kaita was not at fault for the loss simply do not have a clue about football. i blame both kaita and lagerback. prior to his red card, we were the better of two very poor sides. as soon as he was sent off, we lost our balance and the greek coach immediately sent on an extra striker. as soon as this happened it was clear we would be under pressure as the player we lost was a midfielder. lagerback should have then switched to counter attack mode by bringing on yusuf ayila and martins. and then the formation would have been Ayila Etuhu Martins Uche Yakubu instead he brought on obasi to basically maintain a four four one formation. a player like haruna is not defensive minded enough to withstand the pressure of playing one man down with an extra attacker playing against you. a look at the two goals will show that the greeks did not create anything special but rather the sheer pressure they were putting on our midfield was too much and we were unable to pin them back from shooting. all this happened because sani kaita decided that since he has no talent to display to the world, he better display his madness |
Both Keita and the referee are wrong in my opinion. 1. it is common among players to do such things, and in most cases they get yellow cards. watch it over and over again, the kick didnt touch the greece guy. 2. Why did the referee has to depend on the walkie talkie for his decision, and the same walkie talkie was not used to cancel Argentina goal against Nigeria?
please just shut up if you dont know the rules and technicalities of the game. the linesmen are there to give the referee advice on incidents he may not have seen. dont be a fool, if none of the linesmen was able to pick up samuel's infraction on obasi does it mean that a completely different set of linesmen must not advice the referee correctly? the referee is always in contact with the linesmen whether you are aware of it or not. my friend if you say that it is common for players to do such and get only yellows then you are a useless KAITA yourself. better go and read the rules of football |
so much for professionalism. poor fool i'm even begining to pity him |
shadrach77:r u a baby? this was the most blatant case of a red card i have ever seen before! as soon as he did it i was already shouting even before he was shown the card. how can you say because something happened in another match it proves that this was right? can the referee of the other match not have been in error? better familiarize yourself with the rules of the game |
rubbish analysis. greece started the match with a 4 3 3 formation. when kaita got sent off, they brought on an extra striker and took off a defensive midfielder. lagerback should have brought on ayila to defend more and hold on to the one goal advantage. |

how refreshing! now a word must be invented for lagerback |
