Sagamite:well said |
londoner:wonderful answer, im amazed at the level of backwardness. so he must pick a dark skinned woman, is that then not a form of racism? |
venomousblackscorpion@yahoomail.com would be nice to hear from you. |
hmmm well they say looks can be deceiving. big up mallorca and good luck with your career |
hmmm i always suspected that we might have some celebs in our midsts. what ur saying about jj is pretty amazing because i always thought of him as a nice guy |
poster accept my apologies, im sorry. im a bit bewildered about the crap going on but we must ave some real stupid people in charge |
why r u guys all anti kanu? i think its unfair stereotype tbh. kanu played two games at the last nations cup. in the first match against egypt he was brought on in the last ten minutes as nigeria were fighting to score against very fast players. the pace of the game was too much for him and he could not settle down. n the second game, kanu started and in my opinion he was the best player n the pitch. he was able to take the game at his own pace. kanu is not about running here and there anymore, the guy i just a genius with the ball at his feet and a good coach might still be able to use him. look at giggs at united at the age of 36. he hardly ever plays on the flank as he has lost his pace but his intelligence and experience are still very useful. same goes for Kanu. |
pretty strong claims ur making there, got evidence? |
dont be surprised if the guy considers england to be his country. im very disappointed but i cant say i dont see his side of the story. unless he is just an opportunist, after captaining england albeit at youth level it would probably feel strange to play for nigeria. put urself in his position; to have the opportunity to play for england who have better prospects of international success than nigeria and he is surrounded by people advising him to stay and play for england not least his own coach. i think onuoha has a fairly good chance of making the england team if he can get out of the shadow of Micah Richards. |
so u dont know the difference between 250,000 and 25m? plz go and collect ur refund from the primary school you attended. imagine the senationalist headline you have posted there. |
honeric01:this thread is about who we prefer to be in the squad isnt it? has nothing to do with ranting. how has he "out spaced" anyone?? |
12large:reasonable enough. in certain matches there would be a need for a greater physical presence though and etuhu is perfect for that. |
dude my point is ur makin a mountain out of a molehill with the dinner thing. its not a one month dinner, neither will they be at the dinner for even the whole day. they will be at the dinner for a mere two to three hours. is it three hours of dinner that will jeopardize our world cup chances? its not as if there is only one day before the world cup and they chose to use it on eating. it is perfectly reasonable to take most of amodu's players because these are our best guys. amodu himself could be said to have used berti vogts players. in any case peterside said 80%of the side has been picked but he did not state whether or not these 80% are new faces or old dogs. we may well see an unprecedented amount of changes in the squad. there is no evidence that largerback will succeed or fail but i for one like the way he thinks outside of the box. i dont recall a case of any other nigerian coach travelling around to watch his players in their respective leagues. lagerback as been given an uphill task and i beleive he needs our suppport rather than unfair criticism. or would you have him sacked now? |
honeric01: honeric01:now i am bewildered. in one post you say you cant understand why they are having a dinner and then in the next you say it is a tradition. you have accused largerback of being a fool because of the dinner and then you say the dinner had nothing to do with him? |
12large:what role would mikel be playing in such a formation |
@12large who would you like to see in the midfield for nigeria? |
Eastbay:because he does not know 20% of his squad ![]() |
dont make the mistake of assuming that because someone was a great player he would make a great coach. in fact some of the best coaches today were not much to be reckoned with in their playing days. |
dude first and foremost, the list of 44 is for the training camp. in theory no one has been picked therefore to say rabiu has been ignored because of the defensive midfielders is grossly untrue. ibrahim was left out simply because lagerback does not want him . if largerback wanted, he could have invited 50 or 60 players but these 44 are the only ones he is interested in. in any case are you suggesting that lagerback should not have picked any defensive midfielders? wat has ibrahim done to "deserve" a look in?? |
of course okocha must play a part in the world cup. he will sit down in his living room and watch it from his couch. |
guy it is only a brain tumor that will stop lagerback from selecting those guys. |
^ well said. glad to see i am not the only one with basic understanding of the game. when Alex Ferguson took over at manchester united in the late eighties, man united were 18th in the league. without buying a single new player he took united to 13th the next season. again without buying a single new player he took united to 2nd the season after that. gentlemen i put it to you that a team is only as great as its coach. |
so how did idah peterside goof? what tax payers money? you're make me laugh. a couple extra thousands of dollars is the tax payers money u r bitching about? how much extra would it cost to accomodate 21 extra players? transport bill included it wont top 60k . when players are promised 80k each as bonuses for reachin the afcon final, what is 50-60 k when it comes to making the best possible selection of players? |
trust me the greatest problem is from the coaching side. if the players are not good then there is nothing we can do to make them good but nigerian players are good. no one can tell me yusuf ayila is not a good player because i have watched him play for his club side against such european giants as lyon and real madrid and he held his own comfortably in fact this fela was offered ukrainian citizenship just to play for their national team. no one can tell me dickson etuhu is not good because i watch him from time to time playing for fulham and im always impressed. the list goes on, what we need is a coach who will bring them together in the best possible way. a team > a collection of stars. |
if you read the full article, he said that only a 1/4 of the players would be able to make the two day training camp he planned in london. 1/4 of 44 is what? u guessed right! 11. he should play a match with eleven players right? as for bafana bafanas friendly matches, i already checked google and the count still stands at five. yes they had a camp in brazil but there is no mention whatsoever of them having played any friendlies there. in any case, as i did point out earlier, south africa and nigeria can not operate the same way because of the peculiar structure of south african football. so now that it has been established that his players were not released to him, i ask you: what do you think he should now do or should have done? |
this is esxactly what i was saying! everybody with half a brain should be able to predict 80% of the team. by the dictates of common sense alone, all other factors being equal, every country is expected to pick its highest profile players. like i said the training camp is less about knowing their ability than it is about gettin them to play his strategy. what is strange about this?? the difference between largerback and amodu will not be about which players they pick(bar one or two players) but in the way they use those players. nigerias problem is tactical not individual quality. |
1. dodgy red card competition. incredibly in four games of champions league football we have seen four red cards all of which were pretty debatable. i think that at such a high level were the stakes are enormous, better referees than the ones we have seen thus far should be assigned to handle games. 2.sergio busquets picked the wrong career. excellent footballer that he is he is a much better actor! it was amazing watching him roll around the ground when motta hardly touched him. oh well now that his acting talent has been exposed to the worl, i expecte will e replacing shialebouff in transformers three. 3. Esteban cambiaso is the worlds best player. "to be the best you have to beat the best."yesterday he had a duel with the worlds best player (lionel messi), and defeated him in their one on one battle. thus proving that he is better than messi one on one. i hereby crown esteban cambiasso heavyweight champion of the world, wait this aint boxing is it? ![]() 4. brazil and argentina- the worlds best partnership. we all know about the worlds biggest football rivalry-brazil vs argentina- but i guess we never really picked up on what a great partnership they make. yesterday inter milan fielding a whopping 8 players from brazil and argentina combined! brazil where represented by motta, maicon, lucio and cesar while argentina had samuel, zanetti, cambiaso and d.milito. honourable mention to dani alves, gabi milito, maxwell and messi. so much for this being a european competition. 5. oh the irony! karma has really been at her bitchiest this season. the irony must have be a sweet taste in the mouths of mourinho, eto, motta and mark van bommel who were all barca rejects. now they will play in the final while barca walk the boulevard of broken dreams. accompanied by barca will be real madrid who have had a particularly disappointing champions league campaign, being eliminated in the knockout stages of a tournament set to stage its final in their own stadium!! this came at a point in time where madrid had invested heavily and were talkin of makin history. madrid rejects, sjneider and robben will both be playing in the final. how ribery must be thanking his lucky stars that he didnt get his "dream move" to real last season and now will have the chance to play in the final, oh wait a minute, karma bit him in the backside too didnt she? the frenchman has shown a penchant for molesting children which he exhibited againt manchester united. with a little bit of play acting he got the ref to send rafael off for a very minor offence. well ribery u sure got what you deserved! hope u get locked away too if its true you had intimacy with that girl. |
two words: ESTEBAN CAMBIASO!!!!!! |
in other words you have nothing else to say. you failed to back ur statements up with facts which isshowing you up as someone who talks too much so if u choose to runaway i can understand. honeric01:where did i say any of that?? i essentially said the exact opposite. and if u like keep on repeating urself saying im out of touch but until you can name the fifteen teams that you claim south africa have played this year, you are talking rubbish. |
