But what's prayers itself? Saying Prayers means communicating with God. Are we really performing prayers, thereby communicating with God? I think majority Christians are lost in their communication with God.

The Holy Bible confirms that God is a Spirit & he who is to commune with Him must do so in SPIRIT & in TRUTH. The Bible also affirms that God is the Father of all Spirits, that is He is the source of all Spiritual entities.

Just like we have physical parts of the body like hands, eyes, legs... same way we have spiritual parts like thougts, imaginations, feelings, emotions, visions.
A physical disabled man is the one who is either blind, crippled, deaf, dumb... while a spiritual disabled man is the one who is lost in thougts, repulsive in imaginations, slips from feelings to feelings, trapped in negative emotions.

Now, chanting Biblical verses won't save a man from spiritual defects.

Because of space constraints, I’ll address this issue in two folds. The ban of Okada recently announced by Lagos State Government is not new. The Policy has been in place since 2012. The Sanwo olu Govenment has just effected it, where no one dared.

On Thursday March 2012 about eight( years ago Governor Fashola announced a total ban of Okada from all major bridges and the whole of Ikeja. This ban was instigated by the Nigeria Police who had been hapless from the incessant rise in crime. 3 months later it was extended to parts of Surulere and the Island. Specifically the Business district, parts of Victoria Island and Falomo, Ikoyi.

For the other areas government decided to regulate Okada riders and came about, a licensing scheme which stipulated that Okada riders need to learn how to ride bikes and must obtain a riders licence (As is applicable in most countries). This they did in partnership with the FRSC. This scheme was ignored totally. As a matter of fact the two main Okada unions took the government to court.

The FRSC ended confiscating over 15,000 bikes for non-compliance. Still, riders were going about undocumented. At that time there were just about 50,000 Okada’s in Lagos. The government also introduced the use of crash helmets due to incessant casualties from accidents. This too was largely ignored.

Today, there are over 250,000 Okada’s with 78% being indigenes of Chad, Niger and Mali. The significant rise was within the last 18 months. The most significant that jolted the Lagos State Government was the recent influx of over 40,000 Nigeriens and Malians under the guise of looking for a means of sustenance as Okada riders.

They were all undocumented, with no form of identification whatsoever. The Lagos State Government quickly set up a committee to look into this. Early January, In trying to enforce registration in Apapa, Iganmu Orile, where you have the largest concentration of Okada riders from Niger and Mali, government ended up seizing about 150 Okadas, whose owners did not have a riders permit.

Within a few hours Irate Hausa/Fulani Youths invaded Apapa- Iganmu LCDA headquarters at Marine Beach, chased all the workers away and set the office complex ablaze and also vandalised vehicles within the vicinity causing millions of Naira in damage. No serious government would watch and not take action, most especially with the insurgency in the North East.

What I also want you to note here is that, there is a total ban on Okada in Kano, Katsina, Zamfara, Sokoto, Kaduna, Kebbi and Niger State for security reasons.
I could write a whole epistle on the security threats of Okada. Sanwo-olu’s government didn’t just wake up and effect the ban! It was as a result of a report presented by the Lagos State Security Council and they sought advise from the OPS as well.

The Corporate Okada companies were given ample time to implement government policy on the management of their riders but they simply just took government for granted. Thinking government would not be that audacious with an outright ban. With the millions of dollars raised at start-up, all the corporate Okada companies were interested in, was the revenue. The 3k daily they were charging riders.

The companies became reckless after Lagos State introduced N25M as annual licensing fees for 1000 riders and then N30,000 per bike thereafter. Which means the companies would paying N295M if they had 10,000 Okada riders including tax and vat on revenue generated. Meanwhile the companies were earning over N1m per rider annually. They became very greedy and complacent and ceased to keep any verifiable database of the their riders with the required background checks. (This was largely done, to avoid charges). Gokada’s Bangladeshi owner’s main concern was how to roll out gokada in the thousands rather than making sure there was value added and compliance. So most of this companies have themselves to blame. The Corporate Okadas market share in Lagos is less than 5%. TBC.

So I heard there are security reports that actually made the banning imperative. But it seems the Lagos Govt is playing to the gallery by not targeting a particular section of the public that the reports actually indicts.

It makes no sense to punish all for the expected sins or antecedents of a part of the whole. Be direct, specific and honest!!! It pays in the long run...as you earn public trust.

Btw, whats 65 buses in a sub-national with the so-called 20M+ people? The government can do better with better engagement, profiling and a gradual reduction in phases while filling in the void with the provision of inner-city transport services.

I guess as much that it was more security-related.....

I'm sure the real reason for the ban, is the rise in the huge number of unidentifiable Northerners in the Lagos metropolis and the possible security risk that their presence indicates..

However, being an elected government they cannot just come out to make such a statement....

Seems we have some online boko people here....who are trying to sow seeds of division....

Let's be smart people, just because someone has an Igbo or Yoruba or Hausa Moniker does not necessarily mean dey are from that tribe....
They could be using that just to fuel online hatred.

However, this might not translate to much if the spending power of the populace is not improved upon........Until this is done, the government has achieved nothing

The Yoruba and Igbo have the most non-political collaborations in this country....they are the most tolerant of each other......

The reason they seem to fight is because they are always in positive competition with one another, while no one is fighting the North because there is usually nothing positive to compete with. Any competition in that direction usually ends in bloodshed.

It's 2020 for bloody sake, what's the use of reporting them when they can easily make another one due to NL's poor technicalities.

IP bans will not work.....most internet users are using mobile data which allocates IP addresses randomly (that is no fixed IP is allocated).
Banning IP's will probably end up impacting an innocent user who may be allocated that Ip later on.....

Just continue to ban the user names until the person get sense or run image and video checking programs that will stop such post......

And the answer is that after the second world war, the same white imperialists tricked the rest of the world to peg their currency on the US dollar as a way of determining the value of international transactions. The US dollar itself was then pegged on gold.

That's how this whole concept began but it was working relatively well until a US president, I believe a Nixon, pulled the greatest financial scam of all time by annulling it in 1973 or thereabout. From then on, other world currencies just got stuck pegged on the US dollar but without gold backing the US dollar anymore.

In other word, the US can print any amount of paper they want and push it into the world as money. They can even manipulate their currency to affect other currencies. President Nixon made the US a world power. This's what Europe want for the ECO. If African leaders make the mistake of pegging the ECO on Euro, then African economies and even monetary policies would be at the mercy of Europe.

Our main problem is perpetual stooge we have subjected ourselves to in the hands of the so-called Great Britain, the world's renown parasite. Since the beginning of the insurgency, France has played major roles in curbing their activities with less efforts from the british people. Some of french doctors ( Doctors without Borders) were abducted and even killed by boko haram. The last time I checked, a British court slammed a huge sum which could deplete our foreign reserves overnight as penalty or damages in the case of P and ID. France would never have allowed this injustice to be done to any of their colonies

I think our leaders, both past and present are selfish. Immediately after independence, we have failed to adopt french as a second official language, sticking only to english. In Europe, hardly would you find a country who doesn't speak English, including france though they have always preferred speaking their language. I was in Germany some years back and there I met a guy at the airport. I asked him for a direction to where I was going as a taxi guy but he pretended as if he didn't understand English. Later he came to meet me and began speaking fluently...and that's the way an average german behaves. They may not like speaking english but the majority of them understand and speak well.

Being bi-lingual as a nation brings about even and speedy development. If you speak my languages, I'd deal with you in all eagerness and fairness...its normal but the reverse is the case with British. They are haters and unwilling to help especially in an area where they feel they can't see anything to eat. Our politicians loaded their banks with looted money from and they're busy doing business with it. Whenever our country makes any move to bring the money back home, they come up with stiff conditions which would end our country parting away almost half of the money.

I hope the French language learned in most private schools is sustained. We need to break this jinx of one language which is english. Hardly would you visit a francophone country and see learned people who do not understand English and that's where they have an edge overseas over us...in football clubs, in schools, fashion or show biz and wherever they find themselves...they always thrive and adapt easily.
Whereas, their anglophone counterparts would have to enrol in a french school to pick up. Amazingly, french and Spanish are very similar so anybody from a fanconphone country can easily understand Spanish when spoken. It brings about ease of doing business internationally without barriers.

The ECO issue wouldn't have been there in the first place, had our government adopted French a subject from day one in our public schools as a second official language for the sake of economic integration of our region . This is why I've always faulted the amalgamation of 1914, which we are not finding difficult to repeal even years after it's expiry. All the franco phone countries in west Africa put together, ate not up to the Nigerian population but are far better in development than we are as a nation. They are well-organised with less issues of insecurity and corruption. The amalgamation was put there by the British to keep enslaving us. I hope this is repealed someday.
