This Femi sef. Must he tell the world that the President spoke with him over the telephone? Is it not ironic that a Press Secretary to the President have not spoken to his boss in over a month, but relied on presidential aides? And talking about mischief makers, how did Femi ward them off? Did the President really say this? Can Femi really vouch on his honour that he spoke with the President this afternoon? Assuming he spoke with him, was that all they discussed? Femi should tell that to the birds! He should encourage the President to speak directly to Nigerians from his Abuja house in London. It will not be asking for too much for him to do this. Nigerians do not need second hand information about the health status of their President.

5. Robot and Bubble Chewing Gum

I ate a lot of chewing growing up. It’s probably one the reasons I have very bad teeth. Robot chewing gum and one called “Sprint” or “Spirit” were my favourites back then. I knew footballers chew gum when they played so I started chewing gum whenever I played football too.

There is this one that always came with questions inside the wrap of the gum. They were very interesting because they came with answers too. Funny how I knew this many chewing gums from back in the days but don’t know a single one in the market today. If you ate any of these back then, you are probably dyeing your hair to black now. Just kidding.

4 Alhaji Atiku Abubakar
2019 might be the best time for Turaki to actualize his more than a decade old dream. His main challenge however is that he has more friends outside APC than inside. For example PMB still believes Atiku was part and parcel of the repeated mantra of 16 years PDP corruption. While he may overlook a minister or a state governor who may not have done much of the damage, Atiku especially pre-2003 was the de factor president. Therefore we all know Atiku wouldn't be the idlest candidate for PMB to support.
But due to the different vested interests in the party, Turaki could mobilize all the former PDP members in the party and we all know they are strong enough to hijack the party and nominate him as the presidential candidate. With people like Saraki, Tambuwal, Ameachi Dogara on his side, Atiku stands a very good chance against whoever Tinubu's camp will support. As I keep emphasizing, winning the primary election is the main issue.
5. SP Sen. Abubakar Bukola Saraki
Giving the Turaki situation above, the Senate president may succeed in beating Turaki to get the "PDP members in APC" caucus support. A crisis is likely to erupt and trust these cunning PDP members to exploit it like they did in the Senate president election.
Conclusion
Barring any major change like the death of the president (God forbid) or him anointing his preferred candidate outside these five (People like El-Rufai, but I believe he'd be more interested in a second term than this gamble unless the president asks him to fill in his shoes like OBJ did to Yar'Adua), I strongly believe the next president of Nigeria is up there.

Abubakar, a strong contender but as for Saraki, you misfired big time.

2. Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu
It's still no argument the Jagaban Borgu wields a lot of political clout follwership perhaps he's second only to PMB in terms of political base consolidation.
If Asiwaju were to throw his at in the ring in 2019 am sure even the now popular VP Osinbajo will mobilize for him. It is noteworthy Asiwaju's base was instrumental in PMB's emergence as presidential candidate because much of northern voted were decided among PMB, Kwankwaso and Atiku. It was Asiwaju's camp that boosted the former's votes to outweigh the rest.
May be if northern candidates (the likes of Atiku, Kwankwaso, Saraki who might contest) were to divide their votes in 2019, a lone Asiwaju from the south could clinch the ticket.
Forget PDP fielding a Dankwambo from the north, PDP is generally viewed as the main cause of Boko Haram, it's defeat is now credited to APC. Hence a northern candidate won't make any difference.
3 VP Prof. YEMI Osinbajo
The VP is arguably the most popular Nigerian politician today, especially giving his performance as Acting President. Unlike an overreaching Atiku or a docile GEJ as a VP and later Namadi Sambo, Osinbajo carries out his duties professionally and diplomatically. Also giving the level of trust, mutual respect and support he enjoys for PMB, I believe the president wouldn't mind giving him a chance to succeed him in 2019.
The only issue an Osinbajo candidacy might face could mainly be from the interest of Asiwaju if he also decides to join the rest. Giving the latter's grip on the loyalists of the party, Osinbajo may be defeated in the primary election by Tinubu himself. That is of course giving the divided nature of northern votes among those possible contestants.
The rest of the main election is going to be a walk in the park.

Did I just read that Okorocha 'ordered' the four South East governors to join APC now or forget it? Can you imagine? And what does he think that APC as a party is? Today February 18, 2017, Gambian president, Adama Barrow will be officially sworn in at the Independence Stadium in the capital, Banjul. The inauguration will be tied with the Gambia’s 52nd Independence Day celebration.

Reports also indicate that Presidents from about 20 African countries are expected to grace the event. While US Department of State, Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Linda Thomas-Greenfield will also be at the event.

However, Adama Barrow took his first oath of office in Dakar, at the Gambian embassy in Senegal. He was sworn-in by the head of The Gambian bar association. This second oath will be administered by the new Chief Justice, Justice Hassan Jallow.

His inability to take oath in Bajul after winning December 2016 polls was due to the refusal of former leader, Yahya Jammeh, to accept his poll loss.

The Nigerian Naira continued to depreciate against the U.S. dollar on the parallel market, despite the claim of a steady rise in the foreign reserves.

The local currency lost N3 from N507 it traded on Tuesday to exchange at N510 against the U.S dollar on Wednesday.

While both the Pound Sterling and the Euro-single currency were exchanged at N625 and N535 respectively.

At the Bureau De Change segment, the Naira closed at N399 to a dollar, a CBN stipulated rate. While the Pound Sterling and the Euro-single currency traded at N626 and N537.

On the interbank market, the Naira traded at N305 to the dollar, the same rate it traded on Tuesday.

Traders across all the segments have attributed the recent drop in the Naira value to the activities of some speculators and currency hoarders that will do anything to profit at the expense of the Nation.

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu said on Tuesday that the nation lost about $100 billion to militant attacks last year, which according to him has reduced foreign exchange revenue by the most in recent time and hinder the Central Bank of Nigeria from consistently servicing the economy with adequate forex.

In a separate but related news, Nigerian exports to India dropped by 54 percent in January, meaning Nigeria is losing about 60 percent of her oil’s monthly revenue going by current crude oil prices.

Therefore, “until production level increased, the exchange rate will continue to suffer and so will the economy as both consumer prices and consumer spending will be affected,” analysts at Investors King Ltd., stated.

Naira continues to slide! Soon, it will be N600 to a dollar. To imagine that this is a government that promised N1 to a dollar! Ludicrous!

The electric EHang 184 can travel at 100km per hour at 300m above the ground, the Dubai transport authority says.

Dubai has tested a Chinese prototype of a self-driving hover-taxi, its transport authority said on Monday, with the aim of introducing the aerial vehicle in the emirate by July.

The test of the one-man electric vehicle comes as the city state in the United Arab Emirates seeks to ensure a quarter of its means of transport are self-driving by 2030.

The EHang 184 can travel on a programmed course at 100 kilometres an hour (60 mph) at an altitude of 300 metres (1,000 feet), the authority said in a statement.

A passenger simply needs to select a destination for the autonomous taxi to take off, fly the route and touch down in the chosen spot monitored by a ground control centre, it said.

The vehicle, made by Chinese drone manufacturer EHang, can recharge in two hours and make trips of up to 30 minutes.

"The autonomous aerial vehicle exhibited at the World Government Summit is not just a model," authority head Mattar al-Tayer said on Monday.

"We have already experimented (with) the vehicle in a flight in (the) Dubai sky," he said in English.

The authority was "making every effort to start the operation of the autonomous aerial vehicle in July 2017" to help reduce traffic congestion, Tayer said.

The quadcopter is powered by eight propellers, the authority said.

It has highly accurate sensors and can resist extreme temperatures, it said. The emirate is known for its scorching summers.

In November, Dubai agreed a deal with US startup Hyperloop One to study the construction of a near-supersonic transport link to the Emirati capital Abu Dhabi.

Home to Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest tower, Dubai is a leading tourist destination in the Gulf, attracting a record 14.9 million visitors in 2016.

A Federal High Court sitting in Kano presided over by Justice Zainab B. Abubakar today ordered the forfeiture of the sum of $9,772,00 and £74,000 recovered from a former Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Mr Andrew Yakubu to the Federal Government.

According to a statement by the EFCC, the order was sequel to an application by the EFCC seeking an interim forfeiture of the recovered money to the Federal Government.

The presiding Judge held that the recovered sum of $9, 772,000 which is now in the custody of the EFCC be forfeited to the Federal Government.

It would be recalled that, on the 3rd day of February, 2017, operatives of the Commission had stormed a building belonging to the former NNPC boss and recovered a staggering sum of $9,772,000 (Nine Million, Seven Hundred and Seventy Two Thousand United States Dollars) and £74,000 (Seventy Four Thousand Pound Sterling) stashed in a huge fire proof safe. On February 8, 2017, Yakubu reported to the Commission’s Kano Zonal Office where he admitted being the owner of both the house and the money recovered.
Yakubu is still in custody assisting the investigation.

In the first place, the money does not belong to him. It belongs to the Federal Government. He stole it from government coffers.

As part the Acting president's tour of the oil bearing communities in the Niger Delta,His Excellency Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, today visited Ohaji/Egbema in Imo State to inspect Federal government projects, especially those that were abandoned.

The Skills Acquisition Centre in Abaezi Egbema abandoned by NDDC and the Egbema power plant abandoned by the Federal Government were projects visited.

The Acting president after the tour assured the people that all the contractors who abandoned their projects would be mandated to return to site and also promised to look into the request made by the people to convert the abandoned Skills Acquisition Centre into the proposed Niger Delta University of Science and Technology.

Probably the Presidency. These cabal people can so deceiving and knows how to pull wool over the eyes of Nigerians. But not this time. The Yar Adua 'rigmarole' was an eye opener. The Presidency should come out clean with the health status of PMB. Nigerians who overwhelmingly voted him into office deserves to know. Period!
