No one has the right to banish a citizen of Nigeria from any part of the country. If the man has committed any offence he should be charged to court, but the traditional council has no legal authority to ban the him from tiv land. They are just bluffing. The man should ignore them.

Reacting to an article on Thisday Newspapers (https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2017/03/04/host-oil-communities-declare-fasting-prayers-for-buhari/) titled "Host Oil Communities Declare Fasting, Prayers for Buhari" which explained that the leadership of several oil-producing communities in the Niger Delta yesterday declared a period of fasting and prayer for the safe return of President Muhammadu Buhari, who is currently in London, here's what Mrs Lauretta said below;

"WE LOVE PRESIDENT BUHARI - FACT!

I have said it many times that Niger Deltans love President Buhari. It's our thieves and their hired hands on the Social Media that have created the false impression that we, Niger Deltans, hate our President.

It would have been very glaring, had they let Niger Delta votes count during the 2015 election.

Moslems in the region have been praying for him. Now the leadership of several oil-producing communities in the Niger Delta yesterday, have declared a period of fasting and prayer for the safe return of President Muhammadu Buhari.....

President Buhari was elected to serve all Nigerians and he is proving himself to be a leader of all, including the Niger Delta.

Never in the history of the world, and particularly in Nigeria has such love been expressed for a leader. The more naysayers come up with stories from unknown, unreliable and anonymous ”reliable sources", the more Nigerians love their President.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has revealed that the country is now producing as much as 2.1 million barrels of oil per day.


Speaking at the 2017 Nigeria oil and gas conference and exhibition, Makainti Baru, general managing director of the NNPC, said the ongoing negotiations with stakeholders in the Niger Delta is responsible for the surge.

“Crude production has steadily increased to 2.1m b/d due to some strategic dialogue efforts embarked upon by the federal government in the Niger Delta,” Baru said.

“The resolution of cash call arrears will increase the confidence of JV Operators and therefore trigger more investment in new projects.

Two weeks ago, Ibe Kachikwu, minister of state for petroleum resources, said Nigeria’s oil production had risen to two million barrels per day, as Africa’s largest producer.

“In some weeks, we will be able to progress to 2.2 million bpd, which is the target of the (2017) budget,” Kachikwu had said.

In 2016, oil production in Nigeria fell below 1.5 million per day, aiding Nigeria’s journey into a recession, following a massive drop in revenue, rising inflation and subsequent unemployment.

I wonder when some parochial people will stop to misinterpret and misconstrue the "never outshine your master" mantra. A subordinate only owes his master loyalty but never servitude. More so, since law courts are yet to start deciding cases based on prejudice, therefore I see no reason for anyone to cast aspersions on the effectual acting president since he had never made any derogatory statement against his boss. They are a team, thus his success or failure is proportionally his boss gain or loss.

Dalung arrives in Lagos for National Stadium handover talks


Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode and Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung, will begin a two-day working visit of the National Stadium Surulere and various youth centres in the state tomorrow, Special Assistant to the Minister on Media, Nneka Anibeze, has disclosed.

The visit is connected with the plan by the ministry to hand over the National Stadium to Lagos State government. According to Anibeze, “the inspection begins what will eventually end up as a cooperation between the Federal Government and Lagos State to renovate the National Stadium. The edifice has continued to dilapidate after the last international game was played in the main bowl in 2005.”

Anibeze revealed that Governor Ambode expressed intent to give the stadium a face-lift last week, when he paid a courtesy and condolence visit to Dalung in Abuja.

Ambode had at the condolence visit tabled his intention of bringing the National Stadium to life. He said, “If this project pulls through, it will bring about the employment aspect of football and hosting of matches at the stadium. We want to bring back the football culture of Lagos State to the National Stadium after its renovation.”

Anibeze revealed that most stadia in the country had been up for concession following Federal Government’s inability to fund the renovations of most of the football grounds.

Dalung had earlier said, “We were trying to drive a concession but Lagos State’s interest in the National Stadium is what we call an overriding interest which is based on equity. If Governor Ambode is interested in the National Stadium then the concession process is already abated.”

While at the stadium, Dalung and Governor Ambode would inspect the stadium to assess the level of work to be done there before visiting the various youth centres in the state.

Is it not ironic that a media aide to the President have not spoken to his boss in over a month, but relied on presidential aides who travelled with him? And talking about mischief makers, how did Femi ward them off? Did the President really say this? Can Femi really vouch on his honour that he spoke with the President this afternoon? Assuming he spoke with him, was that all they discussed? Femi should tell that to the birds! He should encourage the President to speak directly to Nigerians from his Abuja house in London. It will not be asking for too much for him to do this. Nigerians do not need second hand information about the health status of their President.
