What is Garba Shehu saying? Has Buhari ever been dramatic? There is nothing dramatic about the President. He has always been tardy in everything governance. It took him six months to appoint the 'noisy' Ministers, remember? He is not expected to recoil from his slowness overnight and move faster and certainly not now. Under Buhari, the country has been in reverse gear. A little forward movement was recorded during Osinbajo's acting tenure as President. It is now back to the normal routine. Unfortunate!
ProfDumbledor: As we anxiously await cabinet shake-up by PMB, here are candid recommendations for sack:
1.Yemi Adeosun: the worst ever minister of finance. Naive, clueless with a false sense of achievement. 2. CBN governor: confused, naive and incompetent 3. Fashola: too busy doing absolutely nothing. He doesn't have a clue at all. He should be stripped of power and housing ministries. 4. Yemi Osibanjo: Was amazed when he blamed forex crisis on corruption n pipeline vandalism. He doesn't have a clue about the economy and therefore should be removed as the head of the economic team. A more competent technocrat should be appointed. 5. Udo Udoma: a disaster and a square peg in a round hole. Shouldn't have any business with budget and national planning. Ben Akabueze should replace him. 6. Customs boss: a disgrace to customs. A man with an ethnic agenda. 7. DSS boss: another man with an ethnic agenda. DSS is now an enemy of the people. 8. Babachir Lawal: an arrogant, clueless and corrupt grass cutter. 9. Education minister: lol. A career accountant heading such an impotant sector. No wonder education in Nigeria is in coma. 10. Health minister: a reverred classroom professor but definitely incompetent in managing the health sector. Old, slow in action, divisive and unreceptive to new ideas.
I can confirm that of former Plateau State Governor, Joshua Dariye. The guy has been jittery for a while now over the issue.
The information I'm privy to is implicating, so can't share it. But most of them won't escape justice.
Most of them? Does that include Theodore Orji? This former governor have never been invited by EFCC for questioning, let alone arraign him in court. After looting funds belonging to the State, he rigged himself into the Senate where he now sits and observe proceedings without making any input for the benefit of his constituency.
NextGovernor: Oshiomole number 1. If not then forget it becos he stole both internal generated revenues, federal allocations, local government revenue and international borrowed funds.
Aonkuuse: The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has said it still has plans to prosecute former Governors who embezzled funds.
This was disclosed by the EFCC Zonal Head, South-South, Ishaq Salihu, in an interview on Saturday.
Salihu insisted that they would not bow to external pressure in its anti-corruption war.
“The searchlight of the EFCC is not only on former governors; its (searchlight) is also on other Nigerians who think they can take funds belonging to the country and put them in their private pockets.
“The EFCC, under Mr. Ibrahim Magu’s leadership, will never succumb to any pressure. Like we have always said, there will be no sacred cow,” he said.
Salihu also hailed the Judiciary over the jail term handed to former governor of Adamawa State, Bala Ngilari.
“The EFCC is trying its best to fight corruption but kudos should be given to the judiciary in the handling of Adamawa’s ex governor’s case.
“The fight against corruption is noble and the results can be seen. The judgment secured against the former Governor of Adamawa State is a victory for Nigeria. It shows that the judiciary is independent and courageous,” he added.
This Hammed Ali is dumb. How does he expect vehicle owners on the street to pay custom duty? Is he a slowpoke? Does he not know that buyers purchase their vehicles from car dealers who are deemed to have paid the necessary custom duties on any vehicle sold to potential customers? This man is really a slowpoke.
maximunimpact: In an apparent response to the Senate’s directive, the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs, retired Col. Hameed Ali, has said that he was not employed to wear uniform.
He told TVC on Friday that rather, he was appointed to work effectively.
The Senate had ordered him to appear before it on March 15th in his official uniform as a customs officer.
He was summoned by the fuming senators over the new order by the Customs Service for all old vehicles to pay their customs duty.
Customs offered a 60 per cent rebate for vehicles from 2015 below.
“No! I was not appointed Comptroller General of Customs to wear uniform.
“Does Uniform work or the person behind the uniform?”
If we suspect that smuggled items are taken into your house, we have the right to cordone that house and go in to search.
“Am I doing my job or not? I think that should be what should worry the National Assembly” he said.
This man should start wearing uniform as ordered by the Senate. What is the big deal in wearing uniform? Chidoka wore uniform as Corps Marshall of FRSC. Imagine him asking owners of old vehicles to pay for Customer papers! Is this how to improve the IGR of a country? These Buhari appointees are bereft of ideas. Anyway, this is a policy that is dead on arrival. It will never, and can never work in this country. This Hameed Ali should put on his thinking cap to devise other means of generating revenue for his agency and Nigeria.
Governor Okorocha of Imo State told the electorate during campaign that he will not contest for a second term in office as a single tenure is enough for him to accomplish all he planned for the State, but what do we have today? If there is a third term in the Constitution, this man will not fail to contest. Believe politicians at your own peril. They are not trustworthy.
According to the President, he will be travelling out again within a few weeks for a follow-up treatment. The cabals have achieved their heart desire by making PMB put up an appearance in Nigeria for a few days. It is playing out as planned.
Who the hell is Geoffrey Onyeama? Probably one of the redundant, noise making Ministers Buhari took six months to find. How dare he appear on national television to talk on something he knows nothing about without even caring to investigate? This story has put a lie to his bogus assurances.
olusholashile: . Is that your meaning of packing the bus. They were simply disorganised giving d ball away sheaply. My friend u wanna knw wat packing d bus is? Den ask from chelsea FC. At least 2012 is not so far behind us
The agreement was for PSG to pack the bus. In football, attack is the best form of defence. PSG hardly engaged in attacking football last night.
Afam4eva: I didn't watch the match but from what i saw in the highlights, there was nothing like match fixing. All the goals from Barca were deserved and that includes the second penalty. The highlights are there for everyone to see and the referee did not kill the match like some people have been saying. This is one of the greatest comebacks in footbal history. It just shows how good Barca is. They have defied the odds.
You did not watch the full match, anyways. You watced only the highlights. Your view is understandable.
Babamide: The fixture was fixed. I believe 5-1 was the agreement. But PSG dulled it and Barca thief the game
I was pissed off watching the disgraceful performance put up by PSG. They really played to the agreement. Match-fixing is inimical to the growth of football across the globe. It takes the shine off competitive football.
seunlayi: with the Barcelona dramatic comeback thrashing PSG 6 goals to 1.
No teams in champion league ever survive 4 – 0 deficit but Barca has broken the record deleted the 4 goals and advance into quarter final of the champion league. Unbelievable has happened Barcelona defied the history, shocked the football world..... And to .. Was the match fixed?
No doubt about it. That match was definitely fixed. From all indications, it was! Prior to the game, Barcelona Coach disclosed how many goals his team will score and they scored exactly six goals as stated by Enrique. PSG lowered their standard of play during the encounter and packed the bus most of the time. Is it really possible that in real competitive match, PSG will be so careless in defence as to allow Barcelona score three goals within minutes of the closing stages of the match? Tell me another story! UEFA should launch an investigation into this embarassing sutuation.
Mayydayy: Yea.maybe when it makes the vintage class and become very rare.but right now.its all over the place been used to haul garri in many local markets.
It is not vintage yet, actually. The vehicle is still much in use and at most motor park garages in Nigeria. It is rugged and serves it's owners well, I presume.
Cambells: Before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council meeting held in Abuja today, the ministers sang a happy Birthday song for the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo who celebrates his 60th birthday today.
Osinbajo should sit on the Presidential seat instead of posing for a photograph in front of it. He is the Ag. President for crying out loud! He has the full powers of a substantive President and has been exhibiting it these past weeks. So, what's the big deal in siiting on that seat reserved for the President? His position, let another take!
Uduaghan left office more than a year ago. I wonder who organised this protest, or the people just woke up from their slumber? Anyways, Uduaghan should be made to account. He cannot finish 'stealing' state funds and not be made to bear the consequences. Anti-graft agencies should also beam their torchlight on the immediate past governor of Abia State. That man was something else in corruption when he governed that State.
callydon: Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, will today administer the oath of office on the newly-confirmed Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen in substantive capacity.
Onnoghen had been sworn in as Acting CJN on November 10 last year by President Muhammadu Buhari when the then CJN, Muhammad Mahmud, retired on attaining the age of 70.
Osinbajo, who will perform the swearing-in ceremony at the Council Chamber of Aso Rock Villa, may also confer on the new CJN the National Honour of the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (CGON) as has been customarily done to his recent predecessors.
Apprehension and intrigues had trailed his confirmation as substantive CJN following Buhari’s reluctance to immediately forward his name to the Senate for statutory screening and confirmation. The maximum three-month acting tenure of Onnoghen was on the verge of expiry when Osinbajo, in the absence of Buhari, nominated him for confirmation by the legislature.
This paved way for him to continue in office beyond the three months until the Senate confirmed him last Wednesday.
Buhari has been on medical vacation over an undisclosed ailment since January 19, 2017.
izzou: The cost of running this country is very high. The problem of this country is not really about what party rules, but the fact that we spend so much maintaining irrelevant positions.
Why should an SSA to the President have a media aide? This government reduced the number of federal ministries in order to reduce the cost of governance. With this revelation, that decision is no longer worthwhile as it is evident that other Senior Special Assistants and 'Junior Special Assistants' or whatever also have a coterie of aides attending to them.
Factfinder1: The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has advised Nigerians who have no compelling or urgent reason to travel to the US to postpone their travel plans until the new administration’s policy on immigration is clear.
A statement in Abuja by Dabiri-Erewa’s media aide, Abdurrahman Balogun, said that the warning became imperative due to series of reports received by the office of the SSA.
In the last few weeks, the office has received a few cases of Nigerians with valid multiple-entry US visas being denied entry and sent back to the Nigeria. In such cases reported to the office, such affected persons were sent back immediately on the next available flight and their visas were cancelled,” she said. Dabiri -Erewa said that “no reasons were given for the decision by the US immigration authorities.” The Presidential aide said that the statement “is only to advise Nigerians without any compelling or essential reasons to visit the US to consider rescheduling their trip until there is clarity on the new immigration policy.” She, however, reminded Nigerians in the Diaspora to abide by the rules and regulations of their host countries and be good ambassadors of the country.
Why have the President not spoken to Governor Okorocha yet? Thought he is a 'big do' in APC. Even Fayose of PDP is angling for the President to speak to him! Fayose is a joke.
