The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, filed a petition challenging President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory on March 18.

They are asking the tribunal to invalidate the results initially declared by INEC where Mr Buhari was said to have polled 15,191,847 votes to emerge winner of the elections.

The tribunal is expected to resume at 9am as they decide the fate of PDP and its candidate Atiku Abubakar and President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC over the February 23 presidential election.

Igbere TV recalls that INEC had declared Buhari and the APC as winner of the election, having polled a total of 15,191,847 votes to defeat his closest rival, Atiku, who it said polled a total of 11,262,978 votes.

The five-man panel of justices of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, is headed by Justice Mohammed Garba, as Chairman.

Nigerians should rather be ashamed that Buhari and Atiku are what they have jostling to lead Nigeria with the highest number of African technocrats, PhD holders and professors.


Nigerians are incapable of questioning the fraudulent and lopsided political structure of 20 new political units in one northern region but only 17 political units in two southern regions. This fraudulent political structure makes the Atikus and Buharis of northern Nigeria have excess electoral advantage over the southern people.


No country formed by different regions ever used land mass or population as yardstick to create new political units in any of its founding regions, except Nigeria.

Unless the Buharis and Atikus are tired of ruling, no southern Nigerian can win 25% of votes in 24 states to become president of Nigeria.
