Witi:Kai. My people full here die!! ![]() |
Let's respect the dignity of labour folks. All these jibes at my people working at Mc'Donalds or Mowing lawns turns my stomach. ![]() We all can't build Rockets or cure Cancer, somebody's got to flip those burgers. |
tkb417:Yes, you are probably right, and maybe because Nigeria identifies generally as an English speaking country, BUT still I'm curious as to why a Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa Movie that is well edited and clearly subtitled in English(or can be subtitled/translated) will not qualify as a feature in a study of Nollywood Movies(those are Nigerian Nollywood movies too right?). For a course seeking to study or discuss African Movies, It might shortchange itself and the students if it totally ignore Nollywood Movies made in ethnic Nigerian Languages. The same way a course on French or German Movies might shortchange students if it ignore movies made in French or German (even those that are well subtitled/translated). I will like to know why the course designers picked only "English speaking" movies for a course that in their words is a; "full-fledged curriculum on the Nigerian video film industry. The first of its kind, anywhere in the world.” <---That is a wide claim to be focusing on just English Nollywood movies IMO By the way, I think this is a great development. I will be mildly shocked though if Nigerian Universities and their Drama and Theater Depts do not offer courses on the Nigerian film industry --->directed at the claim "first of it's kind" |
RIP probably tryna say ---> "I'll rather die than apologize for a problem I did not cause" Point taken Baba. |

^^ yea, I read that a while back, good stuff, maybe he changed his mind, or maybe he got overwhelmed by the enormity of the Nigerian problem and reverted back to his previous beliefs, we will never know for sure. But at least we can rely on his rhetoric to assess his state of mind at different times, and the rhetoric clearly shows he understood the problem. "They" (Balewa's generation)understood the problem, but they failed to lay a good enough foundation for solving it. Now, my issue is with the present Generation of Nigerian leaders. Does GEJ have the balls to convene or inspire a representative National conference and produce a new truly federal constitution? one that will address and redefine what it means to be a Nigerian, one grounded in true egalitarian principles? or will we continue this oil sharing, rotational-dancing-chair games? Does IBB? Will Buhari? How about Ribadu? or we still have to wait for our Great Grand children's generation? |

oyb:Kai this guy sef I'm sure they are the real Boko Haram, but not the Boko Haram, because Boko Haram leaders are loyal to the Governor, they are good people hence will not allow themselves to be used as proxies. I mean the Real Boko Haram because. . . am I confused? ![]() Even though I may sound confused but, I'm not sure you will realize soon because I'm doing abracadabra on your mind now, like I said, I did not exonerate Boko Haram. Since Boko Haram killed the Man, it is evil Boko Haram, Good Boko Haram dey Mosque dey pray -signed JEG AKA ---> "Nothing dey happen for creek side" I dey go sleep. . . ![]() |

oludashmi:for the most part, I disagree with you and I already pointed out the reasons in my previous comment. But I do agree with this statement [b]"folks need to very sure of the terrain, flow and nitty gritty of your personal biz before you quit your job so that you will not live to regret it" that is good advice! I will just add that the reason why most companies allow their workers to pursue part-time courses is because they believe it will enhance the skills needed for their current duties or the future needs of the company, not so they can go start their own thing or leave the company. That is why more serious companies give allowances and flexible schedules to those granted such graces. These companies are not charities. I still maintain that it is better for you to do your homework, commit to your passion and go for it, instead of juggling several private businesses on another company's time, Good(read bad) examples of these mindset abounds in our various civil service offices and at a lot of privately owned companies all over Nigeria. We need our entrepreneurs to go for their passion, it will benefit them and our economy on the long run. |
Kobojunkie:You betchya! |
Kobojunkie:Hey! be on the look out for me!!! I will be wearing a black MEND T-shirt with Boko-Haram insignia. Bring on the fear baaabeeeyyyy!!!!! ![]() |
American Intelligence: How do you solve a Problem Like Nigeria? Arm the Boko-Haram infested North and risk creating another Afghanistan in the middle of Africa? (Another 60 million death to America crowd!!) OR Arm the Oil-creek Punks and risk losing badly needed cheap Oil supply when they turn the weapons and training on our Oil firms? How do you solve a problem like Nigeria? |
oludashmi:I can sense your advice was offered with very good intentions, but the bolded caught my attention. Maybe its just me but I have a big problem with the way some Nigerians(some other folks do it also, but I'm Nigerian so) treat their employers businesses. This mindset of doing something on the side kills productivity and hurts the employee too, it takes your focus away from your present job and robs you of the attention you need to give to your other passion. Those of us who grew up in naija have seen it several times, from the civil servant with multiple private businesses to the banker running a cement shop on the side, I don't see it as multitasking at all. It is dishonest and discourages specialization(something we seriously need in all sectors of our economy) I believe it is better to do your research, make up your mind and go for your passion. Doing too many things at the same time does you little to no good and hurts our economy on a macro level IMO. |
The system of education that produced both GEJ and IBB failed! |
OH PUHLEEZE!! the excuses are now getting boring. . . BTW what exactly does the SSS do? Is the SSS some kind of CIA(collecting intelligence externally) or FBI(internal/external federal criminal investigation/prosecution) or are they the personal security guards of the presidency? I don't get their official responsibility. I suspect the SSS is just another one of those military era security agencies that the civilian/military establishment ruling Nigeria since 1998 has failed to get rid of, hiding them under the official secrets acts and other security mumbo-jumbo decrees that does nothing but perpetuate the oppression of Nigerian citizens. These yeye people should stop embarrassing us all over the internet with their silly excuses. . . Arrest the perpetrators already ![]() |
GEJ fired Kayode Are finally! I guess desperate situations calls for desperate measures. . . |
Beaf:Intelligence services of the US and UK? I hope we are not prepping ourselves for another Guatemala, Nicaragua or Iraq, Better not involve those folks in your issue if they aren't already pushing themsleves into it ![]() The only thing they care about is Shell, Chevron, Mobil and their other friends. I bet their support will go to the Man who can guarantee their investments the most ---> IBB or GEJ? |
I now know why Nollywood sells a lot of movies. I guess it's now safe to say GEJ wants IBB eliminated, One less slowpoke is not a bad 50th "independence" anniversary gift though. Let them continue to do themselves in. . . I siddon they wait part 3. . . |
proudly9ja:Unfortunately, that decision was made by your government not NFF, hence the BAN threat from FIFA. Again, It's simple, if you can't follow their rule don't join their Federation. We can't expect the world to bow down to our incompetencies everytime. |
It's simple, if you can't follow their rule don't join their Federation. |
TewMuch:Can't understand the constant need to keep on parading these laggards especially the coup plotters, ex-military dictators among them as rulers that deserve any kind of recognition. Pictures like these makes we wonder about the mind of any Nigerian who is proud to have any of these people as a leader. These are no leaders, they are sharers; give me oil block and a Swiss account and we are cool. They are all united in corruption while my people scream about tribal nonsense. |
bawomolo:Classic! LMAO! |
davidylan:I will argue it is, Some will deny that of course but that's my take on it. |
