Try to keep your revs below 2200 rpm and you will see a change in your mpg.

I have 2 codes on my OBD test

Other than that, ride is ok.

I use the correct rated oil 5W-30 and change oil every 5k miles.
I’ve also cleaned my MAF and intake valves.

What else can I do to improve my MPG please?

I don’t expect the present codes should affect the MPG that badly☹️

Location matters, you can’t be in Lagos expect good mpg. Where are you?

Your MPG is pretty normal considering the age of the V6 engine, poor quality fuel and driving conditions.

You can choose to replace the catalyst converters on both banks or delete+install spacers.

[s]If you have zero skill, basic knowledge or basic skills on Stick-Shift (which is obvious on this thread from comments) and want to improve your skills, know that Stick-Shift doesn't require WOT or pedal to floor for redline (especially ones with powerful Engines), as long as the engine is sound. A small acceleration can take the revs up there, depending on right gear and right skill, unless you are racing. WOT is very unnecessary on Stick-Shifts for redline in motion[/s], unless the automatic transmission that basically requires instant pedal to floor for redline while car is in motion.

Any hardcore enthusiast should know this by now. If you want to become one like me, start paying attention or start listening to your car. Your car is always telling you something while behind the wheel. That's how you learn.

Gear 1-2 transition time is slow in that car. Notice despite the redlining of that engine it took quite a number of time to get to speeds. That car is like an 8-9seconds 0-100km/h car.

That’s about the slowest V6 acceleration I’ve seen in recent times. Plus the way the tachometer goes to redline makes me wonder why isn’t it picking up speeds rapidly or isn’t it’s engine built with some form of variable valve timing systems?

Bros, he needs a transmission, ECM, a TCM, wiring harness, various sensors, instrument cluster, shifter and center column, modifications to the transmission mount to accommodate the new transmission. Time and money will be spent. At the end, it will even equate or exceed the cost of buying a 2017 direct
